In Texas, it depends on your insurance policy and the specific physical therapy clinic. While some insurance policies require a referral from a healthcare provider such as a physician or chiropractor, other insurance policies may allow patients to directly access physical therapy without a referral for up to 10 calendar days.
If your insurance policy does not require a referral, you can contact a physical therapy clinic directly to schedule an appointment. However, if your insurance policy does require a referral, you will need to obtain one from a healthcare provider before scheduling an appointment with a physical therapist.
It is always a good idea to check with your insurance company to understand the specific requirements of your policy, as well as to confirm the network status of the physical therapy clinic you plan to visit. Additionally, you can contact the physical therapy clinic directly to ask if they require a referral before scheduling an appointment.
Overall, while some patients may be able to go to physical therapy without a referral in Texas, it ultimately depends on their insurance policy and the policies of the physical therapy clinic they plan to visit.
Physical therapy is a broad field with a range of specializations and treatment options available to patients. The type of treatment you receive will depend on your condition and the specific goals of your therapy. Some common types of physical therapy treatment include outpatient physical therapy, which is usually provided in a clinic or office setting and can include exercises, manual therapy, and other interventions to address musculoskeletal and other conditions.
Neurological physical therapy is a specialized area of treatment that focuses on patients with conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, or Parkinson’s disease. The goal of neuro PT is to help patients improve their mobility, strength, balance, and coordination.
Pediatric physical therapy is focused on treating children with developmental or physical disabilities. This type of therapy aims to help children improve their motor function, balance, coordination, and strength, and can be provided in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
Acute physical therapy is provided in the hospital setting for patients who are acutely ill or have suffered an injury. This type of therapy can include a range of interventions to address pain, immobility, and other symptoms.
Long-term acute physical therapy is provided for patients who require ongoing care for chronic or complex conditions. This type of therapy can be provided in inpatient or outpatient settings, and may involve a range of interventions to address physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
Overall, physical therapy treatment can be tailored to meet the needs of patients across a range of conditions and settings, from acute injury to chronic illness.
The frequency of physical therapy sessions can vary depending on the specific needs and goals of the patient. At physical therapists discretion, typically 2-3 days per week is recommended for most patients. This frequency allows for adequate time for the patient to recover and rest between sessions while also providing enough consistency to make progress toward their goals.
It is important to note that the frequency of physical therapy sessions may vary depending on the severity of the condition being treated, the patient’s age and overall health, and the goals of the therapy. Some patients may require more frequent sessions, such as those recovering from a recent surgery or injury, while others may benefit from less frequent sessions for more maintenance-type care.
It is important to work closely with your physical therapist to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your individual needs and goals, and to communicate any concerns or questions you may have about the frequency of your sessions. By working together with your physical therapist and following their recommended treatment plan, you can achieve optimal results from your physical therapy sessions.
One of the most common injuries that physical therapists encounter is back/neck strain. This type of injury can be caused by a variety of factors, including poor posture, overuse or repetitive motion, sudden movements, or trauma such as a fall or car accident.
The specific treatment plan for back/neck strain will depend on the severity of the injury and the individual needs of the patient. Physical therapy interventions may include exercises to improve strength and flexibility, manual therapy to reduce pain and improve joint mobility, and education on proper posture and body mechanics to prevent further injury.
In addition to physical therapy, patients with back/neck strain may benefit from other interventions such as heat or ice therapy, over-the-counter pain medication, or in some cases, prescription medication or surgery. By working closely with their physical therapist and following a comprehensive treatment plan, patients with back/neck strain can often achieve significant improvement in their pain and function.
It’s difficult to pinpoint the most injured body part, as the prevalence of injuries can vary depending on a number of factors such as age, occupation, and lifestyle. However, the neck, back, hips, and knees are all areas that are commonly affected by injuries and conditions that may require physical therapy.
Neck injuries can result from a number of causes such as poor posture, whiplash, or degenerative conditions such as osteoarthritis. Physical therapy can help to reduce pain, improve range of motion, and restore function in the neck.
Back injuries are also common, and can range from muscle strains to herniated discs. Physical therapy for back injuries may include exercises to improve strength and flexibility, manual therapy to reduce pain and improve mobility, and education on proper posture and body mechanics.
Hip injuries may be caused by overuse or trauma, and can result in pain and difficulty with walking or other physical activities. Physical therapy can help to improve strength, flexibility, and mobility in the hip joint, and may include exercises and manual therapy.
Knee injuries are also common, and can be caused by a variety of factors such as overuse, trauma, or degenerative conditions such as osteoarthritis. Physical therapy for knee injuries may include exercises to improve strength and flexibility, manual therapy, and education on proper biomechanics during physical activity.
By working with a physical therapist and following a comprehensive treatment plan, patients with injuries to the neck, back, hips, or knees can often achieve significant improvement in their pain and function.
While physical therapy is generally considered a safe and effective treatment for musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, there is a small risk that it could make an injury worse in some cases. However, this is relatively rare and is usually preventable with proper assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
It’s also important to note that some conditions may be aggravated by physical therapy, particularly in cases where the underlying condition is not properly diagnosed or where the wrong type of therapy is prescribed. However, this risk can be minimized by working with a qualified and experienced physical therapist who is skilled in assessing and diagnosing musculoskeletal conditions and designing personalized treatment plans to address the underlying issues.
Overall, while there is a small risk of injury exacerbation during physical therapy, this risk can be minimized through proper assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, as well as careful monitoring and communication between the patient and therapist throughout the therapy process.
Yes, it is often worth seeing a physical therapist for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Physical therapy can help to reduce pain, improve mobility and function, and prevent the need for more invasive procedures such as steroid injections or surgery in some cases.
Physical therapists are highly trained healthcare professionals who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. They can design personalized treatment plans that are tailored to the individual needs and goals of each patient, using a variety of interventions such as exercises, manual therapy, and patient education.
By working with a physical therapist, patients can often achieve significant improvement in their pain and function without the need for more invasive procedures such as steroid injections or surgery. Physical therapy can also help to prevent future injuries and promote overall physical health and wellbeing.
In addition, physical therapy may be covered by insurance, making it a cost-effective option for many patients. By seeing a physical therapist early on in the course of a musculoskeletal condition or injury, patients can often avoid more costly and invasive treatments down the road.

By working with a qualified and experienced physical therapist, patients can often achieve significant improvement in their pain and function, while avoiding more invasive procedures and promoting overall physical health and wellbeing.
Chiropractors focus on the relationship between the spine and nervous system, and use manual techniques such as spinal manipulation to improve joint mobility and alleviate pain. They may also incorporate other therapies such as ultrasound, electric stimulation, or acupuncture. Chiropractors often focus on acute pain relief and the restoration of spinal alignment and mobility.
Physical therapists, on the other hand, focus on a broader range of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries, and use a variety of interventions such as exercise, manual therapy, and patient education to improve strength, flexibility, mobility, and overall function. They are educated more on physical rehabilitation, injury prevention, and permanent relief of pain/discomfort through manual therapy and corrective movements. Physical therapists often focus on long-term pain management, rehabilitation, and improving overall quality of life.
The approach that is best for an individual can depend on the specific condition or injury being treated, as well as personal preferences and goals. Chiropractic care may be more appropriate for some acute injuries, such as low back pain, neck pain, or headaches, while physical therapy may be more appropriate for conditions that require a longer-term approach, such as chronic pain, arthritis, or post-surgical rehabilitation.
It’s important to note that both chiropractors and physical therapists can play an important role in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries, and they can often work together to provide a comprehensive and effective treatment plan. By consulting with both professionals, patients can often benefit from a multi-disciplinary approach to their care, and achieve the best possible outcomes for their individual needs and goals.

Physical therapists can work with babies to help with the treatment of multiple neurological and orthopedic diagnoses and ailments. In the case of infants, physical therapy may focus on developmental delays or conditions such as torticollis, a condition where the baby’s head is turned to one side due to tightness in the neck muscles.
Physical therapy for babies typically involves exercises and stretches that are designed to promote movement, strength, and flexibility. The therapist will work with the baby to encourage the development of motor skills such as rolling, crawling, and walking.

By working with a skilled physical therapist, parents and caregivers can help to ensure that their baby is on the right track for optimal health and development.
Physical therapy for sciatica typically involves a combination of treatments that are designed to reduce pain, improve mobility, and address underlying issues that may be contributing to the condition. Some of the most common techniques used in physical therapy for sciatica include myofascial alignment, stretching, and strengthening of specific areas.
Myofascial alignment involves techniques that are used to release tension and restrictions in the muscles and connective tissues around the affected area. This can help to reduce pain and improve mobility in the lower back and hips.
Stretching is another important component of physical therapy for sciatica. Specific stretches can be prescribed to target the affected areas and improve flexibility in the muscles and connective tissues. These stretches can also help to reduce pressure on the sciatic nerve and relieve pain and discomfort.
Strengthening exercises may also be included in a physical therapy treatment plan for sciatica. These exercises are designed to target the muscles in the lower back, hips, and legs, which can help to improve stability and support the affected area. Strengthening exercises can also help to prevent future episodes of sciatica and improve overall function.
Overall, the specific techniques used in physical therapy for sciatica will depend on the individual needs and goals of the patient. By working with a skilled physical therapist, patients with sciatica can receive a personalized treatment plan that is tailored to their specific condition and goals.

In general, physical therapy for sciatica is typically recommended 2-3 times per week, with each session lasting around 30-60 minutes. However, the frequency of treatment may be adjusted based on the severity of the patient’s symptoms, their level of pain and discomfort, and their overall physical health.

Yes, athletes can benefit greatly from physical therapy. Physical therapy is not only useful for treating injuries but also for injury prevention. Athletes often put a lot of stress on their bodies, which can lead to overuse injuries or acute injuries. Physical therapists can work with athletes to help prevent injuries by identifying any imbalances or weaknesses in the body, and developing individualized exercise programs to address those areas.
If an athlete does sustain an injury, physical therapy can be an effective treatment option. Physical therapists can help to reduce pain and inflammation, improve range of motion, and promote healing through a variety of techniques such as manual therapy, exercises, and modalities like heat or ice.
Overall, physical therapy can be an essential component of an athlete’s training regimen. By working with a physical therapist, athletes can optimize their physical health, prevent injuries, and recover from injuries in a safe and effective manner.
Athletes often have different goals and needs than other patients when it comes to physical therapy. Some of the main goals of physical therapy for athletes include treating prior or current injuries, attaining myofascial alignment, learning about injury prevention, improving exercise technique, and building a stable foundation to support their sport-specific movements.
When an athlete first begins physical therapy, the physical therapist will typically conduct a thorough evaluation of the athlete’s strength, range of motion, and any areas of pain or discomfort. From there, the physical therapist will develop an individualized treatment plan to address any imbalances or areas of weakness, and work to help the athlete achieve optimal physical health.
For athletes who have had prior or current injuries, physical therapy can be especially important. The physical therapist will work to reduce pain and inflammation, improve range of motion, and promote healing. This may involve a variety of techniques, such as manual therapy, exercise, and modalities like heat or ice.
Athletes may also work on myofascial alignment, which refers to the proper alignment of the muscles and connective tissue in the body. This can help to reduce pain and improve overall movement efficiency.
Finally, building a stable foundation is key to supporting an athlete’s specific sport movements. This may involve exercises to improve balance, stability, and core strength.
The frequency of physical therapy for athletes will depend on the specific needs of the individual athlete and their treatment plan. However, in general, athletes may attend physical therapy sessions 2-3 times per week. This can help ensure that the athlete is making progress towards their goals and can allow for ongoing adjustments to their treatment plan based on their progress. Additionally, the physical therapist may recommend exercises or stretches to be done at home in between physical therapy sessions to further support the athlete’s progress. Ultimately, the frequency of physical therapy sessions for athletes will depend on the severity of the injury or condition, the athlete’s schedule and availability, and the recommendations of their physical therapist.
Yes, physical therapy can be an effective treatment for chronic pain. Rather than simply treating the symptoms of pain, physical therapists will often assess the entire kinetic chain of the body to determine the root cause of the pain. This may involve evaluating posture, movement patterns, and muscle imbalances to identify any areas of weakness or dysfunction that may be contributing to the chronic pain. From there, the physical therapist will develop a customized treatment plan that may include a variety of techniques such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and modalities such as heat or ice. By addressing the underlying causes of chronic pain, physical therapy can help reduce symptoms, improve function, and enhance overall quality of life
Physical therapy can be used for pain management regularly and is often recommended as a first-line treatment for pain. Whether you are experiencing acute or chronic pain, physical therapy can help you manage your symptoms and improve your overall function. Physical therapists work closely with patients to develop customized treatment plans that may include a variety of techniques such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and modalities such as heat or ice. By addressing the underlying causes of pain and teaching patients how to control and avoid pain, physical therapy can help patients reduce their reliance on pain medication and achieve long-term pain relief. In some cases, physical therapy may be used in conjunction with other pain management techniques, such as medication, to help provide optimal pain relief. Ultimately, the use of physical therapy for pain management will depend on the individual patient’s needs and the recommendations of their healthcare provider.
Finding a qualified physical therapist in Houston can be an important step in your recovery or rehabilitation journey. To find a physical therapist in Houston, you can start by asking for recommendations from your doctor, friends, or family members who have undergone physical therapy. Additionally, you can search for physical therapists in your area online, through directories or websites such as the American Physical Therapy Association’s directory or Yelp. Once you have a list of potential physical therapists, take the time to research their qualifications, experience, and reviews from previous patients. Look for a physical therapist who has experience treating the type of injury or condition you have, and who makes you feel comfortable and supported during treatment. You may also want to check if the physical therapy clinic or office accepts your insurance or if they offer payment plans or financial assistance if necessary. Finally, don’t be afraid to schedule a consultation or initial appointment to meet with the physical therapist and see if they are a good fit for your needs.
Physical therapy can be particularly effective for conditions such as chronic back pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, and other chronic pain conditions. By focusing on building strength, improving flexibility and mobility, and developing strategies for pain management, physical therapy can help patients reduce their reliance on pain medication and improve their overall quality of life.
The number of physical therapy sessions required to see results can vary widely, depending on the individual patient and their specific condition. In some cases, patients may see improvement after just a few sessions, while in other cases, it may take several weeks or even months of consistent therapy to see significant improvement.
Factors that can impact the number of sessions required include the severity of the condition, the age and overall health of the patient, and their level of commitment to the therapy plan. Patients who are diligent about attending sessions, following their therapist’s recommended exercises and stretches, and making necessary lifestyle changes are more likely to see results sooner than those who are less committed.
It’s important to note that physical therapy is a gradual process, and patients should not expect overnight results. Depending on the severity of the condition, physical therapists in Houston may recommend anywhere from one to three sessions per week, and therapy may continue for several months. The goal of physical therapy is to help patients improve their physical function, reduce pain and inflammation, and improve their overall quality of life, which can take time and dedication to achieve.

Revolve Physical Therapy: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Life-Changing Healing Experience at Revolve Physical Therapy! I had been grappling with a persistent back/hip issue for two years postpartum, trying various avenues without success. Then, I discovered Tan at Revolve Physical Therapy, and it proved to be a game-changer. After just one session, I felt "buttery," and my pain had significantly diminished. Despite my eagerness to expedite the healing process, I ended up setting myself back. Thankfully, Tan guided me back on track, providing effective exercises that not only worked but also alleviated my pain. Tan's expertise goes beyond the physical – he's a true healer, addressing both mental and physical aspects of well-being. My experience at Revolve has been nothing short of transformative, thanks to Tan's exceptional care and healing approach.
Fantastic experience: 5 stars…. 5 stars on everything. I have not one negative thing to say about this place. I was so against therapy because I didn’t see how it would help with my pain. I did not want to be touch due to the severity of my back pain. Shoutout to Jose, Jaylon and Odell <—— (sorry if I jacked up your name lol). I actually looked forward to going to therapy even through the pain. The atmosphere there is so welcoming. The conversations, the music, the laughs are the best. But, the physical therapy is overall 10 stars, the best ever. They take their time, they really get to understand and concentrate on your pain then help you strengthen your body to get you out of it. Thank you guys for loving what you do. For your patience and care that you have given me.
Fantastic experience: Revolve has a unique and extremely effective approach to pain elimination. I have been to traditional PT centers, Rolfers, and orthopedic doctors. No one was as effective as the innovative approach to pain as the process used by Revolve. Revolve’s therapists are all trained by the same talented and creative owners of Revolve. The process begins by the therapist using his or her hands, elbows, etc, to work on the connective tissues around the painful area. Once these tissues are stripped down, the work begins! The therapist gives you unique exercises to meet your needs. It’s amazing the difference made when the fascia is released and the exercises can be completed. The therapist never leaves you during this time and can tweak the exercises as needed. The pain won’t be gone with one session but you will see a difference almost immediately. Don’t give up. REVOLVE WORKS!
Fantastic experience: They really helping my mom recover faster and faster with every visit Thank you so much

Fantastic experience: Alan, Jose, Sophia, and Jaylon are absolutely amazing physical therapists. Each time I come I get personalized training to fit my goal. They are so fun, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile to help me. I don’t recommend this place enough and encourage anyone who wants to get stronger and healthier to come. Kudos to the customer service and front desk lady, Luz who gets me in whenever I need it. YALL ARE AMAZING

Fantastic experience: I got into a terrible car accident last April. And these guys got me back active and moving regularly in no time. Jalon, Jose, Odell, Jimmy and Sophia are all very knowledgeable with joint pain and what exercises are needed to get their clients back to a full range of motion. I would recommend Revolve physical Therapy for rehabilitative services. 5/5!

Fantastic experience: After having 6 years of severe chronic back pain, I was FINALLY able to get some relief, quality sleep & my mood has improved drastically. I can not say thank you enough to the team here at Revolve. The knowledge that each therapist had & being able to educate me to make sure I understand their perspective & know exactly what they’re doing to me! Another big family to me.
Fantastic experience: Highly Recommend! I recently returned home to Savannah, GA after having completed 7 wks of Physical Therapy following a complete knee replacement. I am a few months short of being 77 yrs old. The entire staff is friendly but highly professional! I have had a few recommendations here but worry that I will not find the same level of treatment.I miss all of you at Revolve!!! I miss y’all!!! You’ll be hearing from me!❤️
Fantastic experience: I tore my ACL and meniscus playing football and was recommended to Revolve by my doctor. I have had nothing but good experiences here. All of the staff are very professional and they know what they are doing. They pushed me to my limits and wanted me to get back on my feet and walking again as quickly as possible. I am very grateful for Revolve and I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to be pushed but also have their injuries and pains fixed properly. Josè, Amy, and Shereen have been nothing but amazing. They are professional, straight to the point, and educational by answering any of my questions and why it is important to do certain things with your joints.
Fantastic experience: Started PT August 2022 for diastasis recti that I’ve struggled with since my last child was born in 2019. With regular visits and diligent homework I was able to see big improvements in 6 weeks. Fast forward to the end of November 2022, I ‘graduated’ from PT and feel so much stronger as well as no longer being restricted by my diastasis. The team of therapists are great, they work together and make sure you have what you need to succeed. I appreciate them all but especially Dr. Shereen and Jose - thank you!!
Fantastic experience: My first time doing PT and if I ever have to have another physical therapy office, Revolve will be a tough act to follow! Two sessions in and both my therapist have been awesome and informative. Can’t wait till I’m 100% mobile and stable again. I’d recommend Revolve to anyone with PT needs. (Just wait until my treatment is over so I don’t have to share )
Fantastic experience: I started physical therapy at the end of November 2021 after being in a car accident. Everyone here is very friendly! All the therapists here have very good bedside manner. I would look forward to going every week. My shoulder is now so much better than it was after the accident.
Fantastic experience: 12/10, highly recommend. Never have a been to a facility that cares so deeply for its patients and staff. Revolve is the most hands on, transparent and and client/patient focused of any facility I’ve been too. From their front of house to back, each employee goes above and beyond to take care of every patient need. Whether you need general body maintenance or physical therapy, this team will guarantee you get the best results.
Fantastic experience: After going here for about 2 months, my neck pain for 8 months is finally gone. I want to thank Jose (sorry if I spell your name wrong) especially for his professional and amazing knowledge on how the human body works. Thank you so much!
Fantastic experience: Overall, I'm very pleased with my treatment at Rvolve PT. Everyone is friendly, professional and treats you with kindness. *Luz, the receptionist, is very welcoming and organized. She was able to answer all my questions about scheduling and fees, she kept me informed and contacted my doctor in a timely manner. *Dr. Shereen Mahdavi, DPT, is very knowledgeable and thorough when assesing and creating a treatment plan. She is very patient, answered all my questions and explained everything in terms that were easy for me to comprehend. *Jose Martinez, PTA is very attentive, knowledgeable and patient. My recovery was pretty painful at times, but he was able to make me feel as comfortable as possible, talk me through the process and help me complete the necessary exercises. *Paula is an intern, I believe she will only be there a few more weeks. If you get treated by her, please trust that you are in good hands. She has a very bright future in this field.
Fantastic experience: Everyone here is so welcoming and helps you in any way they can. The therapists are wonderful and so knowledgeable about how the body works and moves. They really know how to explain things in detail. They don’t just treat the problem you go in for but also the entire body to make sure everything is working right to maintain the progress you make. 100% recommend this therapy clinic, Doctor Shereen and Doctor Garret are amazing and so are the other therapists.
Fantastic experience: Big shout out and thank you to the whole team at Revolve Therapy! I had knee surgery to repair a tear in my meniscus and went to revolve and had a tremendous experience! Very knowledgeable and friendly team helped me get back to dancing with my new grandson Eli!♀️ Thank you all again, and if I ever know anyone in need of physicl therapy, you will get my highest recomendation!
Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with Revolve. I was experiencing some lower back pain and limited range of motion. I worked with Amy for a few weeks and along with the therapy and exercises she gave me to do at home I saw great improvements. The facilities are very clean and the staff very friendly. I would have no issues recommending them to friends and family.
Fantastic experience: I've had a fantastic experience with Revolve PT over the past three months of physical therapy for my long-standing lingering lower back pain. I injured it many years ago while working and tried to do patchwork therapy with prescription medication, various chiropractors, and even an acupuncturist, but to no avail. Like many, my career now involves constant sitting which aggravated the injury even further. Dr. Shereen, Amy, Alex, and José have been extremely methodical in diagnosing my problem areas, understanding my biomechanical issues, and consistently changing my motions to help me improve incrementally. I'm far from 100% but I've been able to cut my two-a-week sessions to one and don't feel as much pain from when I started. I wholeheartedly recommend their services and all walks of life, including older patients, injured patients, and young athletes, would agree too. You will be well taken care of but you will need to be patient with yourself, attune to your body and give them immediate feedback. I inadvertently gave them a try by reading through Google reviews so I hope this review helps someone else going through something similar. Thank you so much.
Fantastic experience: I was referred to Revolve PT by my insurance company after having severe knee problems. Dr. Mahdavi conducted an assessment and after that I worked with Amy (one of the PTAs) for 6 weeks, she changed my life for the better! I am now able to run and walk with better form, I also am able to do these things and alleviate my knee pain. They were amazing and everyone is so kind!
Fantastic experience: The professionalism at Revolve Physical Therapy is like no other. Every time I go there I’m greeted with friendly therapist who have a wealth of knowledge in their profession. I live in the Woodlands and have been to several physical therapy offices in my area only to find myself going back to Revolve ever time...it is definitely worth the drive! Not only am I able to get back on my runs since I started physical therapy at Revolve, but I’m finally confident enough to join a running group. Thank you Revolve...for giving me my life back and then some!
Fantastic experience: I strained a muscle in back and sent a note to Kunal requesting feedback. He was able to schedule an appointment for me that same day. Prior to the appointment, I had very limited mobility and even had discomfort just standing up. Kunal did a full body assessment and pointed out deficiencies in my lower body that could have played a role. He worked on my back and was great at showing me daily stretches as preventative measures against further injury. After the appointment, I had my full range of motion back and felt great. Great facilities with all the necessary space/equipment for functional exercises. It was definitely worth the time and money.
Fantastic experience: First started going to see Tan at Illuminate Physical Therapy maybe 18 months ago after having years of back pain from an herniated disk that ended up leaving me with a weak right leg. I was refereed by a friend who spoke highly of him. Their approach was methodical at getting to the root cause of the problem. The hands on approach was amazing. Releasing muscles, strengthening and stretching. Be warned it may hurt, but the outcome will be worth it. To sum it i no longer have back pain. I have fixed the imbalances and have regained strength. For all those people that have back plain and issue that just go to the chiropractor and then they put the heat pad on and then the electric things that muscle twitch and things are not getting better. Try a different approach, it will hurt and will require effort and cost money but the end result of no pain will be worth it.
Fantastic experience: I came to Tan post ankle surgery. I felt better, encouraged, and important after every appointment. I love the one-on-one connection that clients are able to receive. I highly recommend going to see him if you want to see the best results!
Fantastic experience: After many years entrusting my time and money into private trainers, I only came away with a new injury and not feeling any more fit. Tan has been a gift for the past 5 years where he has directed me into the best shape applying his fitness and physical therapy expertise, I am now in the best shape and injury free. He takes the time and compassion to understand how I am built and strengthens the weak areas and I am so much stronger. His workouts are tough ones and with his motivation I do not seem to mind. And he is an overall nice person ! Tan is a gift!
Fantastic experience: I started seeing Tan for some back pain I was experiencing. He was great in helping me not only work through my back pain, but also addressing other problems such as a imbalance with my right side as a result of an old foot surgery. The manual manipulations are key to helping me feel release and the training focuses on helping my gain strength to prevent future injury. My husband who had a hip replacement and a history of injuries from a very active lifestyle and flat feet also sees Tan and loves the progress he is seeing. We appreciate you Tan for helping our family get back into good health and in shape to keep up with our two boys!
Fantastic experience: I drive from Katy twice a week to come here and it's totally worth my time, gas, and Houston traffic. It's only been a couple weeks and I'm already feeling a major difference in my pain level. This is huge for me because I've been to other physical therapist and chiropractors for months with no relief. Thanks to Tan and Shireen I'm finally seeing results. Illuminate is a hands on center which makes a big difference in the quality of treatment and in recovery time. Best physical therapist is Houston hands down!
Fantastic experience: I seen Tan for back pain and with just a small movement and applied pressure the pain was instantly GONE! Also, in my evaluation I had NO IDEA one leg was longer than the other, BOOM fixed!!! I Highly recommend Illuminate physical therapy to anyone that has discomfort anywhere in their body. This is the place to be if you are looking for a full/speedy recovery!!
Fantastic experience: My experience at Illuminate was remarkable. I suffered from limited mobility in my left shoulder and acute pain due to a pec tear and athletic wear. After one session at Illuminate with Tan, my shoulder mobility has been fully restored and my athletic performance has increased! Tan is absolutely fantastic; he has profound knowledge of the human system and is an absolute professional. Don’t waste anymore time in finding a solution to what ails you; go and visit Illuminate and Tan today! You won’ be disappointed.
Fantastic experience: I’ve had several injuries as a bodybuilder and never once have I seen Tan not be able to correct the issues I’ve incurred. He is an amazing therapist and genuinely cares for his clients recovery and health. I strongly recommend anyone who needs a therapist to visit illuminate physical therapy. He used different techniques such as scraping, active release, pnf stretching to ensure you recover from any injuries but also to prevent them from reoccurring
Fantastic experience: Have been working out at this location for about 4 months and could not be happier. Great convenient location, easy to access and my trainer, Tan is awesome. I actually look forward to working out and never have before in my life. Give him a try, you will not be disappointed.
Fantastic experience: Illuminate fitness is a great gym to work out in, if you are looking for the one on one experience with a trainer this is the place to go. The staff is great and they take the time to help you achieve your goals. Before meeting Tan I suffered from horrible migraines and back problems. I couldn’t figure out a way to get rid of them. Tan gave me a workout regimen to strengthen my core in order to help improve my posture and with physical therapy treatment I was able to get rid of my migraines and back pain. Tan is very dedicated to each and everyone that comes to him. He takes the time to explain things to you and is very supportive and understanding while still being able to motivate you on continuing to live a healthy life style.
Fantastic experience: Love working out at Illuminate Physical Therapy and Wellness! Used to me a member at Lifetime Fitness and a friend recommended a trainer at Illuminate to try. I met with Tan Nguyen and the rest is history! I have been working out with him for the last 2 years and have enjoyed every minute. He wants me to achieve my goals and is so patient and encouraging. He always changes the workout for me because he knows I don’t like doing the same routine. He understands that each persons needs and abilities are different and is committed to make sure that I am getting the best possible workout. Love the “no frills” atmosphere of the gym and how nice and encouraging all the trainers are to everyone!
Fantastic experience: Kunal and Tan are the best! I have been going there for the past month and a half for Physical Therapy for lower back issues. They were recommended by my doctor. I cannot tell you how quickly I saw improvement. I can tell that I am improving on a daily basis. They are very knowledgeable and care about what they are doing. I am one that does not like any physical activity, but they have motivated for me to continue on this journey. Some how they make it fun! The whole facility is very welcoming!
Fantastic experience: Tan is the best trainer I’ve worked with! He’s patient and really dedicated to making sure you achieve the best results. I’ve had so much motivation and an amazing support system. I definitely recommend to anyone looking to get fit and see real results!!
Fantastic experience: Not really sure where to start. I’ve known Tan for quite some time. He’s seen me at my best and at my worst. He knows how to make any bad day better. Above all, he’s beyond amazing at his job. He’s a people person and he genuinely loves what he does. Anyone that knows Tan, knows that 1. He’ll get the job done and 2. He’ll do it with a smile. He cares and it shows. From on going problems in my back and knees, I’ve seen more progress seeing Tan than I ever did going to a regular physical therapy clinic. If you don’t see Tan, you’re doing something wrong.
Fantastic experience: I’m Branden Vaughn, one of the many trainers here at Illuminate Fitness gym, I’ve worked along side of Tan going on three years now and words can’t express the compassion this guy have for his clients and the determination he has improving on his craft to further help others! Tan is incredibly knowledgeable and very patient during his sessions. Very sociable and get along with everyone! Best physical therapy in town!
Fantastic experience: Tan is the best ever. Multiple chiropractor visits without any relief in my knees. Saw Tan once and what he dis has helped tremendously. He is very passionate & cares alot about his clients. Extremely knowledgeable.
Fantastic experience: Having a PT and a trainer all in one has been the most beneficial treatment I have ever had. Tan has been treating my hip pain for the past few months and the pain has significantly been reduced. He has also designed an individualized strength and conditioning program for me to help avoid further issues. The facility is very clean and the entire staff is always very positive and motivating.
Fantastic experience: I have been working out with Tan for awhile now and have absolutely the best to say about the experience. Tan listens to you and evaluates your needs spot on. Neck and back pains I had been having are gone now, and I feel so much better and more energized as my body has become stronger through his workouts. Tan will get you where you want to go, and you will have fun in the process!
Fantastic experience: I've been working out with Tan at Illuminate Physical Therapy and Wellness for a few years now and could not be happier. I highly recommend Tan if you are looking for a trainer or physical therapy. Tan has helped me rehabilitate a knee injury therefore not requiring any surgery. If you are in need for a PT or a trainer, Tan is your guy!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely love these guys! They have saved me from so many aliments getting worse. I had tennis elbow so bad it was hard to even steer my car and with just 2-3 sessions I was back working out again! I love that they are located inside of a gym that provides physical therapy, Pilates, and weight training all in one place. Very knowledgeable and friendly atmosphere!
Fantastic experience: I have been going to PT for the past 4-5 months at a bunch of institutions and I have not progressed at all and as a matter of fact I feel like I was taking steps back. They instilled in me a mindset that my knee was physically not able to take on physical activities and that it is going to take time to do anything. I heard about Tan so I came to see him and the first day there I was mobile and seeing more progress than I did anywhere else in months. This is the real deal and he is so knowledgeable about the human body that he can adjust workouts to cater to your own unique self. I HIGHLY recommend.
Fantastic experience: Just had an evaluation and my first visit. These guys are the real deal. I've had problems with my shoulder and neck for a while now. I tried scouring the internet to find exercises to try and fix it and it led me to a dead end. Tan worked on my tissue and explained what was going on through the whole process. We did some brutal scapula stability exercises that had me sweating. Everything felt really good. Tan is incredibly friendly and the whole energy of this place gave me really good vibes. I'm super excited for my next visit!
Fantastic experience: The staff is very knowledgeable and really understands how to systematically encourage you to excel in your recovery. The facility is clean and there is plenty of parking. Tan is by far the best trainer and P.T. I have ever encountered. I have had leg and foot issues my entire life and have been to many P.T.s over the years. Tan becomes fully invested in guiding you to a better you physically and mentally.
