UF Health Rehabilitation - Emerson

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love going to Physical Therapy at Emerson Street. The receptionists are very friendly. My therapists, Bob and Edwin, have helped me beyond my expectations. I have a torn rotator cuff in both shoulders. Before rehab, I could not even lift my coffee cup with my left hand. I can now not only lift my coffee cup, but reach up in my cabinets to put put up my canned goods. I am very grateful for their patience with me. I highly recommend this facility.

Fantastic experience: Saw their PTs following rotator cuff and SLAP tear surgery. PT isn’t ever going to be fun, but their staff are truly wonderful. Positive, engaging, funny and highly knowledgeable - they make PT something not to dread.

Fantastic experience: Honestly the staff here is amazing. I have been to a few different rehab centers for my knee injury and resulting surgeries and this one was by far the best. Their staff is very knowledgeable and caring and treat each appointment as a one on one situation. They don't overbook so the PT's have time for you and any questions or concerns you may have. They also have some of the most up to date equipment and machines for rehab. Their high rating on here is much deserved.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience working with Dr. Heather Barksdale. She has helped improve my ambulation and my confidence when walking. She was patient, kind, thorough, and innovative with her approach. I greatly appreciate her, and I would refer her to anyone who needs rehabilitation.

Fantastic experience: The staff is always so welcoming and Alex is amazing! I always refuse to do PT when offered because it has never helped me in anyway, but working with Alex, I've been doing better with my issues and actually enjoy going to PT because of Alex! I will be sad when PT is over because I won't get to see her every week lol. Highly recommend this office and of course Alex!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend the Emerson physical therapy department. Sara Young is a caring professional physical therapist who is skilled in relieving painful joints. She also provides beneficial take-home exercises which help speed the recovery process. All the staff are friendly and treat each and every patient with concern and respect. The facility is clean and well-equipped. Emerson PT is the place to go to improve your quality of life.

Fantastic experience: I saw Nisha Pitel for chronic hand/thumb pain and after my first visit, I had improvement! She took the time to go through my history and gave me great suggestions! Would highly recommend her for any hand rehab!

Fantastic experience: I had 2 wonderful therapists here, Nisha and Edwin! Nisha is so straightforward and compassionate, while Edwin is soft-spoken and fiercely protective!

Fantastic experience: Updated Tues. October 5, 2021 September 30, 2021 My journey started again with Physical Therapy for 4 weeks after having knee surgery. I requested Mr. Edwin Rivera since he worked with me for PT before my knee surgery. Edwin is a wonderful person and doesn’t spare the rod. He allows you to get comfortable and challenges you to do strengthening exercises and activities for your area of need. He encourages you, even when you think that you can’t go any further. Afterwards, you can say, “I did it” with a smile of accomplishment. Thank you, Ms. Young, for scheduling all my appointments and checking me in weekly with a cheerful greeting. If you need PT Rehab, please consider coming to UFHealth Rehab on Emerson. The facility is clean, and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. Thanks also to Mr. William S. Fortney for my thorough initial visit. He adjusted my crutches and told me that I didn’t need them anymore. I was elated and felt good. He started me on the path to begin my journey. I was a little nervous at the beginning when I first started. My PT Edwin Rivera is a great person and excellent physical therapist. My experience coming to this location was very pleasant. The staff checking you in to scheduling for your next visit is utterly amazing. They call you by your name before you say a word. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful. I am glad that I chose this facility for my Physical Therapy. I am sorry that my time here has ended but would certainly recommend others to come to this facility for their PT needs. Positive experience: Excellent service, incredibly overpriced; bordering on robbery. I received excellent care at this facility. Appointments were prompt, facility was in excellent condition, and the specialist was attentive, friendly and information. Treatment was very personalized. I was instruction on how to further address my treatment with at home care as well. However, do not go any more then you have too. As the service are unreasonably, almost criminally expensive. To see a specialist for some arm pain, the costs were over 5000 USD. Even after insurance coverages, from a decent plan, I was left with a bill over 500 USD. The treatment I received was not worth this money, as it used only basic exercise equipment. They have been unwilling to budge on these unreasonable charges, and insist they are competitive with other rehabilitation centers. Attend the minimum number of sessions, and be careful with what they charge your insurance. Your copay could be a serious surprise here.

Fantastic experience: UF Health Emerson Rehab is the best. They have rehabbed both of my shoulders, knees and now hip. My therapist Amanda Wood is absolutely amazing, caring, loving and professional. Also, Theresa Meyers has worked with me and she provided the same professionalism and care as Amanda. Fantastic experience: Emerson UF Health Rehabilitation has been very helpful with my recovery process. Any person you talk to there are very polite and helpful ! My recovery has been a journey, and I've received excellent care and very helpful instructions on how to do my workouts at home. I would recommend this office for excellent teamwork from the front desk to the time is finished. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable !! I'd give them five stars in my box !!!
