For people in the Portland area, the Providence Rehabilitation team commits to supporting your health and wellness. We provide clinical excellence through best practices and compassionate, connected care. As your care team, we work in partnership with you to empower you to reach shared goals.
In order to make the most of your sessions, we ask that you wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Exercise clothing, such as sweats, T-shirts and shorts, is most appropriate.
Because you are the primary focus of our care, your active participation is essential to a successful rehabilitation program. The following guidelines are highly recommended to enhance the achievement of your goals.
We accept cash, check, debit card, and credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Debit Cards). Co-pay or services are due at time of visit. We are happy to discuss payment plan options.
Physical Therapy combines the science of medicine with the art of manual therapy. It is a hands-on approach to healthcare. Physical Therapists evaluate your movement patterns, identify the cause of your injury or pain, and work to eliminate it. While every patientâs injury and pain is unique, we use various techniques to get you back to your pre-injury condition. The overall goal is to restore your mobility and function with improved joint protection to prevent the injury from reoccurring.
Physical therapists must graduate from an accredited post baccalaureate program, pass their state board examination and maintain a current level of professional knowledge annually with continuing education courses. Depending on the university, a physical therapy program is either a Masters (Masters of Science â MS) or doctorate level degree (Doctorate of Physical Therapy â DPT).
This depends on the extent and nature of your injury. Typically you will begin to feel the effects and benefits of physical therapy after your first or second visit. Our main goal is to get you back to your pre-injury function.
Each patientâs diagnosis is unique and together with your referring physician, your physical therapist will develop a plan of care that is specific to you. Your plan of care and the number of visits will most likely be determined during your initial visit.
At Providence Downtown Rehab and Sports Services, you'll have access to a vast network of dedicated and compassionate providers who offer personalized care by focusing on treatment, prevention and health education.

Providence Downtown Rehabilitation Clinic: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Had my first visit a week ago after months of hip discomfort . Very glad I went. Professional, spot on diagnosis with simple exercises to alievate the issue. Can't say enough positive things.
Fantastic experience: Abby is so sweet and efficient Cattelan is super. Her assessment for my needs was on spot and helped me so well that I’m able to do more at the gym due to my total hip replacement. Super kind super intelligent and very professional. I love the new app GO this was integral in keeping me focused on what I needed to complete and the video which explains the exercise in detail you can play it over and over thanks youse guys
Fantastic experience: They are there to heal us! Truely competent! First hand experience.
Fantastic experience: Lori was patient and firm and ultimately helped me not only end the pain but improve my form in running and all other exercise – and even daily life. And she just understood how much I really wanted to continue being able to run. She made me a new believer in physical therapy.
Fantastic experience: Everyone is friendly and professional and my physical therapist Caileen is wonderful. I injured my neck and trapezius muscles and the physical therapy is what helped me the most! A massage doesn’t quite cut it sometimes and these people definitely know what they’re doing. They also have parking options available, since they are in the downtown area. 2 reserved spaces in the Columbia parking garage around the corner and validation for the other parking garage across the street.
Fantastic experience: Very knowledgeable staff who help and tailor your recovery to your needs.
