From gymnastics to dance, yoga to circus arts, Kira has always been a mover. After surviving an awful car crash in her teens and later seriously injuring her back as a young adult, she realized that she was all flexibility and had no strength. She was drawn to becoming a Pilates Instructor and Physical Therapy Assistant as a tool for strengthening her hyper-mobile frame and immediately enjoyed the stabilizing results both modalities provided.
Adopting a strong Pilates practice and rehabilitative maintenance routine has helped Kira not only with pain management but, more importantly, it has been the key to keeping hope and motivation alive to get back to a reasonable level of function after severe injury. Kira is inspired by the puzzle of human anatomy and feels excited to explore with clients on their journey back to pain-free locomotion and recovery. “It is an honor to be part of the process that helps your body move through space with ease.”
When she isn’t working, you can find her making ceramics in her home studio, playing board games and making music with her husband Derek, or exploring the PNW with her dog River.

Orthopedic & TMJ Physical Therapy Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: After receiving major jaw surgery I was hoping to find someone to help me return to daily normal function and capabilities. Dr. Rachel and her coworkers are incredibly knowledgeable and have helped me so much with the healing process. I can’t say enough great things about the experience I had during my physical therapy time at this clinic.
Fantastic experience: Love this place. Caring, effective and innovative
Fantastic experience: I worked with this group a few years ago as I had really bad lock jaw TMJ symptoms. They were very out of the way for me but it was worth it. They got my jaw to open again and exercise to help moving forward. And when their level of care was insufficient and I needed more help (aka getting a oral splint) they let me know and gave me their recommendations. I had no issues with the staff or any of their processes.
Positive experience: I was excited to start care here as someone with EDS and chronic pain however their providers availability and scheduling has been inaccessible for me. The only PT with EDS specialty is gone for an unknown amount of time, I have called over the past few months to check in as no wait list was offered. I scheduled with a different provider for another therapy months in advance and they just canceled our first appointment offering a gap in appointments another month later. This did not make me feel like they were able to provide the consistent care I need so I decided to not move forward with rescheduling. I wish I was able to receive the treatment I really need but my trust in their ability was damaged. I will be looking for other providers and wanted to share my experience.
Fantastic experience: Although I came to this clinic for pelvic floor therapy I got whole body care. Cindy has been my provider and supported me through two babies. After each postpartum I needed different things. Cindy always met me where I needed to be and provided kind caring and respectful support as I navigated my physical challenges. She offered concrete tools and exercises for improvement between visits, always with a nonjudgmental attitude. I got tips for daily ergonomics and functions to improve support of the body and overall healing postpartum. Her approach is very gentle and thoughtful. Never going too hard or too fast and I’m always surprised by the results she gets with the slightest touch. Hard to summarize the positive impact this practice has had in my healing and so grateful for their care.
Fantastic experience: I set up an appointment at Orthopedic and TMJ Physical Therapy Center earlier this year after experiencing severe jaw pain and locking. Dr. Rachel was incredibly helpful, showing me different TMJ massage techniques and walking me through lifestyle adjustments to reduce the pain/tightness. Would recommend this place to anyone with TMJ. Thanks a million!
Fantastic experience: I came to PT on the recommendation of my Women's Health Doc after a painful pelvic exam and ongoing low back and hip pain. I received excellent care, learned so much about my body and after a year of practicing what I learned, I'm mostly pain free AND able to exercise and do strength training! My most recent pelvic exam was so easy and my Doc said she wished more women got pelvic floor PT!
Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience at Orthopedic & TMJ Physical Therapy Center. Dr. Jenna was kind, caring, and extremely knowledgeable regarding my needs after my specific TMJ surgery. She was instrumental in my recovery. I would highly recommend Dr. Jenna to anyone who has any TMJ issues. Judy Lampert
Fantastic experience: I have nothing but good things to say about this group. I worked with a few of the staff, all were attentive, thorough, sensitive, perceptive, and working together organically. This level of group synthesis is what all healthcare should be like. I felt cared for and safe and healed leaps and bounds with their care, encouragement, and instruction. 100/100.
Fantastic experience: I received incredibly effective, comprehensive, compassionate, and professional care from Rachel and Mary. They did a thorough intake, listened to my health history, tapped into and incorporated other serious health issues I have beyond neck pain, gave me incredible hands on care, showed me effective exercises to do, told me about podcasts to listen to, and advised me to get a sleep study. Their expertice and insights have significantly improved my quality of life. I believe they have combined the best of Western Medicine with a brilliantly holistic and maternalistic approach. I hope this model will become the future of health care. Definity 5 stars.
Fantastic experience: Very helpful with exercises to relax my neck and jaw and facial muscles. Three sessions taught me a lot. Jenna was very good to work with, and explained as she went. Easy freeway access and has own parking lot. Front desk and scheduling was good too. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: This place really helped me deal with my nerve pain due to TMD issues, that were also part of problems caused by neck, and shoulder problems. Dr. Rachel was very comprehensive with helping find the underlying problems for why I was in pain currently, and why I'd tended to have some pain in the past. She helped with exercises, posture, lifestyle changes, and all around helped me alleviate pain that I had tried to learn to live with. Mary was fantastic with hands on therapy. The front office staff was always very friendly too.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Rachel is amazing, and I’m so fortunate I found her for my acute TMJ flare up. I was in OR visiting from WA and had been dealing with severe TMJ pain for over a week. I was at my wit’s end trying to find someone who could help me. Dr. Rachel helped me immensely, not just physically but emotionally! Even though I don’t live in town, Sarah Beth at the front desk treated me with such tremendous kindness. Dr. Rachel treated me as her patient immediately, with genuine compassion even though she knew I was from out of town. She carefully listened to my history, unlocked my jaw which provided instant relief and she answered all my questions. She also sent me home with tools that will help me self-manage symptoms and showed me prevention strategies. She went above and beyond to help me. If I could feasible drive down to her for more treatment, I definitely would. Whichever TMJ specialist I find in WA, they will be measured by the standard and quality care Dr. Rachel provided. I only wish they had a TMJ practice like this in Seattle, it’s very difficult to find providers who specialize in TMJ in my area.
Fantastic experience: I had a pretty bad case of TMJ aggravated when I was intubated for a surgery. I found the Clinic by a google search. I called to schedule an appointment and felt confident that I called the right place. Dr Sarah did a very thorough exam and treatment as well as giving me some exercises to get some relief. I returned for 3 additional treatments and I am doing so much better. If it flairs up again I will definitely be back.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Carol at Orthopedic & TMJ Physical Therapy! She’s a kind, gentle and caring person and has intuitive gift along with her background in physical therapy that work magic! Along with her therapy she sends you home with exercises to continue and truly helps to heal your body!Carol listens and has helped me with more than I came to her for! The front desk has been helpful and worked with my schedule to get me in also. Im always happy to see this clinic!
Fantastic experience: Heather worked with me to resolve my pelvic floor issues and chronic pain. I am so grateful for her care and support!
Fantastic experience: I definitely recommend seeing Jenna at Orthopedic & TMJ Physical Therapy Center for your physical therapy needs. She is a great physical therapist and is very thoughtful, intuitive, and caring. My shoulder is improving on each visit! Her hands-on work provides great relief and the exercises she prescribes are personalized and very doable. She is very patient and kind when addressing any questions or concerns and strives to get the most out of our appointment time. The staff is super friendly and a pleasure to work with as well.
Fantastic experience: I saw Dr. Sobczak initially for TMJ treatment and was able to benefit greatly from the holistic care the team provides. I left treatment feeling a significant quality of life increase and with lots of tools for maintaining and improving my health. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Worth the 40 minute drive. I was looking for someone who taught hypropressive exercises for pelvic floor. Carol is amazing!! It has made a huge difference in my daily life. I made so much more progress than I had with only kegels. Carol listens and is so thorough in her explanation and tips. Wrote out notes of what we discussed and my treatment plan so I would not forget. I didn't feel rushed at all. Office staff is kind and friendly. I also saw Jenna who is also top notch in her knowledge. I had previously been to physical therapy elsewhere for pelvic floor and really didn't make much progress. I don't know why hyproressive exercise isn't more widely known about.
Fantastic experience: My ENT urged me to go to this clinic saying no one does this work like these therapists. He was so so right! I had been experiencing some serious issues affecting my quality of life with little relief. Through the compassionate and expert work of this clinic, I am no less than 90% better and now have tools to support my steps forward. Caring, professional, deeply talented and committed-I cannot recommend this clinic strong enough. Thank you to Carol and Lisa who guided me to a better place of wellness.
Fantastic experience: My experience at the Orthopedic and TMJ Center has been life changing. I am in my late sixties and after my treatment for TMJ and stomach pain I feel better than I have for thirty years. Carol Conrades can be counted on to exhibit a calm and reassuring demeanor and superb listening skills. The treatment plan she designed for me proved that her approach treats the whole person. Should you choose this clinic you will be seen and heard.
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience here! Dr. Rachel explained why I have jaw pain and how it connects to other parts of my neck and hips. She is easy to talk to, and gives exercises that are actually achievable and fit easily into my daily life. Also, they work! The building is cozy and comfortable as well.
Fantastic experience: Heather was great and allowed me to avoid having surgery.
Fantastic experience: My dentist referred me to Rachel Sobczak for TMJ massage to help manage the jaw and related headache pain I was having. Rachel was knowledgable, thorough and very personable. In two sessions she taught me techniques to help me manage the problem myself and it has been 100% successful. I was having pretty severe headaches for a year and now am pain free so I am very impressed!
Fantastic experience: Brilliant! Helpful wonderful people here. Making change is what comes naturally to these gifted women. Do not hesitate to become a patient. They will help you become functional and that's so important.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this clinic and the absolutely incredible providers I have worked with so far. Rachel is amazing, extremely intelligent with the ability to thoroughly explain and breakdown my treatment. Cindy also treated me with a perfectly gentle, methodical and caring practice that was helpful and soothing to my discomfort upon arriving. The massage therapist was literally one of the most accurate and intuitive massages I've ever experienced. She definitely knew exactly how to help me. Not only did my various treatments help tremendously, but I now have exercises and techniques they have each taught me to help outside the treatment sessions. This clinic is definitely 5 stars!
Fantastic experience: I came in with severe jaw pain and inability to open my mouth fully. After Dr. Rachel did a thorough explanation about the jaw and muscles surrounding it I had a better understanding of how to manage my tmd. She also did some jaw release exercises and by the end of our session I was nearly pain free and could open my mouth! Great team of doctors. Definitely recommend
Fantastic experience: These ladies are all amazing. I saw all three for my TMJ and they helped immensely. I went in for TMJ when I could barely get my pinky finger between my teeth. After seeing them, I was able to eat semi normally. it actually turned out (after getting MRI later) that I needed more intense care from a TMJ dental specialist, but they helped me so so much until seeing the dentist. I highly recommend this place!
Fantastic experience: I have been extremely happy with this clinic. I had been going to a chiropractor for over a year and was still suffering from almost daily headaches. Carol has taught me how to assess my daily habits and change them in order to treat my TMJ. She has also taught me exercises in order to keep my jaw from locking again. Lisa is an amazing massage therapist and I always look forward to my appointments. I highly recommend it!
Fantastic experience: I was referred to this place by my PC because I had a hysterectomy almost 2 years ago and was experiencing some incontinence. Everything down there seemed looser. I also went to the bathroom more often than what was normal. After working with Heather for about 2-3 weeks I could totally feel and see the difference! Not only did Heather teach me exercises to strengthen areas I had no idea were weak or very tense, she taught me to be more aware of my body. As a woman I hold tension in areas I didn't even know was possilble and now I can sense it, and do something about it by taking care of myself. Heather is now working on my neck which as been bothering me for about a year. I feel more aware of my body, less tense, and more importantly I feel good. t's been life changing! If you will have any of surgery or had surgery in the head, neck, back, or abdominal area, go and see Heather...she will not only help you to physically, mentally, and emotionally prepare for the surgery but will greatly help in your recovery. I wish my surgeon/doctor had know about pelvic floor PT so I would have recovered better and faster.
Fantastic experience: My dentist referred me to Carol to address my TMJ issue. The clinic was peaceful and non clinical feeling. The staff was amazing and caring. Carol had a holistic view of addressing my TMJ issue. With muscle and joint manipulation, facial, neck and shoulder massage, I can now enjoy my almond croissant . Thank you so much Carol and Lisa. Your contact is on my speed dial. I highly recommend the clinic.
Fantastic experience: Carol Conrades & Heather Hannam provide expert, compassionate care. They are great problem solvers. Their integrity is amazing & refreshing. This clinic helped me regain full use of my knee after I broke my kneecap & spent 76 days in a brace. I can once again hike & climb rocks. I am enjoying "perfect knee syndrome."
Fantastic experience: I took my newborn for a birth injury and Carol is fantastic and her staff is friendly and very helpful. Effective treatment that Baby slept through with lasting results. Will return if the need ever arises.
Fantastic experience: very caring, knowledgeable staff, Cindy is terrific
Fantastic experience: Cindy provided me with incredibly gentle and effective care, and taught me new habits and exercises to heal myself. In just a few visits, my jaw pain had dissipated. I am so grateful and highly recommend Cindy and Orthopedic and TMJ Physical Therapy Center!
Fantastic experience: Carole eliminated a low back pain that would shoot down my leg and that I suffered with for probably 30 yrs. She also helped me with some symptoms that I was dealing with after breast cancer surgery. I would recommend her to anyone .
Fantastic experience: Carol is amazing! She helped me so much! I highly recommend her and this clinic.
Fantastic experience: This clinic is a deep well of experience and knowledge. I received treatment over 10 years ago with Carol and am still going strong. I also highly recommend Lisa Graves, the best massage therapist I've ever worked with, as she too is located in this clinic. The women at Orthopedic & TMJ are a wonderful and valuable team of talented, resourceful, highly experienced medical professionals.
Fantastic experience: Tmj had me nearly crippled by the time I saw Carol and the team. They worked with me and gave me exercises that gave me an escape from my pain. They were alway kind and easy to work with. If you have tmj these are the experts!
Fantastic experience: Excellent and knowledgeable staff. They specialize in care that I couldn't find anywhere else. Their TMJ expertise is first-rate.
Fantastic experience: What am amazing team. I have only been coming for a short time but the compassion and ability to really listen is incredible. Cindy has taught me some techniques that I had never heard of before, things that I think about every day. Thank you for all you do!
Fantastic experience: I've been in physical therapy with Carol for overactive bladder disorder for over 2 years. I've had excellent results and am very happy with her work. I started when I was 3 months pregnant and continued throughout the pregnancy and through my entire postnatal recovery period. Not only has my bladder function improved significantly, but my entire pelvic floor and core is in great shape now, and I have enjoyed increased sexual function as well. Carol uses a combination of very effective body work modalities along with mindfulness, breath work, and non-judgmental emotional support to skillfully tap into the body-mind connection and empower her clients to participate in their own healing process. Working with her has been a wonderful experience, and I'm so grateful!
Fantastic experience: A year ago, I could not open my mouth enough to eat properly. Now I can open my mouth fully with no popping or locking in my jaw. They really know what they are doing. They made things so much easier!
