Fantastic experience: EXCELLENT REHAB FACILITY! ALL of the staff work together as a unified team which creates a safe, caring, validating, professional environment. Individuals with brain injuries receive, Occupational, Physical, and Cognitive Therapy. In addition, clients meet with a psychologist (Ph.D.) an MD, a Vocational Rehab Specialist and, attend two educational groups per day, five days per week. If you have a brain injury or, any other injury, related to your place of employment, have your PCP refer you to the R.I.W.-B.I.R.P. TODAY!

Fantastic experience: Kudos to Rehabilitation Institute of Washington (RIW) as a multidisciplinary team and system that stands by its core values and mission. All staff from ancillaries, HUC, program coordinator, physical therapist, occupational therapist, psychometrist, psychologist, vocational therapist, physician assistant, to medical doctor provided an excellent treatment, genuine care that made me feel safe, valued, and important as a human. I loved that all staff went up and beyond to help and advocate for a patient like me. I have been a firm believer in the Structured Intensive Multidisciplinary Program (SIMP) since day 1 and all staff were able to deliver the true substance and its goal for every patient . I'm still working on my physcial injury and trust issues related to workplace violence, but all the staff made me feel that human kindness still exists, and their advocacy was phenomenal! Everyone is true, transparent, and professional! With their knowledgeable skills, everyone was a great resource. I really valued all the education that was provided. I will recommend RIW to all nurses and other healthcare professionals who got injured in the workplace. With this kind of experience.I had, I will always be an advocate for nurses, especially those who got injured related to workplace violence. Kudos and more power to a program like this!

Fantastic experience: I appreciated the care I received at RIW. Each and every practitioner attended to my treatment with thoughtfulness and a readiness to listen and respond appropriately in support of my success. While I wish there were a closet of magic wands to wave and resolve all my problems, I feel confident that the tools I have received will support my ongoing recovery moving forward.

Fantastic experience: The level of care provided by RIW is impeccable. They provide a team of professionals that are able to give each patient the opportunity to individualize their healing experience tailored to their specific needs. My time at RIW was well worth the energy invested because I was able to walk away with a better understanding of my condition, less symptomatic, tools to help not only continue to reduce the symptoms I still have, but also, manage the symptoms I have and they provided me with an education to better myself in the workplace and in my personal life. This is not just a place for injury. This is a facility that allows you the time and space to reinvent yourself and become the best version of yourself with your new norms. The team clearly loves what they do and they set the tone for the environment, which makes it hard to want to leave when the program comes to an end.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to RIW for an 8 week intensive outpatient BIRP program (Brain injury Rehabilitation Program) for a TBI I suffered from a work accident. The staff at RIW are passionate, caring, involved professionals of their fields. Every one that I had the pleasure of working with seemed knowledgeable and receptive to my concerns, and had answers or solutions they shared to me in an understandable, gentle manner. From my Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy ,Vestibular Therapy and Speech Therapy providers, to the maintenance personnel and the receptionists, I will remember your lovely faces and the huge, positive impact each and every one of you made on me. From my heart, Thank you! - I would absolutely recommend this place and I know that any future patients here will be in the best possible care.

Fantastic experience: After two years of dealing with a brain injury and endless migraines. I went from doc. To doc. And all kinds of therapy. I felt like I wasn’t being heard and everyone was telling me what I couldn’t do. I came to RIW and they changed the Narrative, all the sudden I was pushed to do more. They helped me set applicable goals and pushed me to where I want to be . If you come into this program with an open mind and and a willingness to work hard you will succeed

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful to my surgeon for sending me to RIW! The staff there are top notch, know what they're doing and can be trusted with your care. In July of 2018 I walked into RIW using a cane and in extreme pain. I started in their work conditioning program, but they quickly determined that was not the right fit for me and switched me to the pain management program, which was a great fit for me. Their doctors, physical and occupational therapists, psychologists, vocational rehab counselors and staff know what they are doing. When you are a patient there you are treated with great care and supported by your own team of experts who help you to do the work it takes to truly rehabilitate. I walked in to RIW with a cane and in extreme pain, worked hard, learned a great deal, graduated from their pain management program and walked out after my final follow-up appointment in December 2018 with no cane, feeling little to no pain and ready to live life. I am so grateful for this amazing group of people, truly grateful!!

Fantastic experience: OMG so happy I found this place. Unbelievable staff and services. If you have had a serious injury I highly recommend checking RIW out. Beyond Friendly staff, great therapists , they cover not only physical therapy but they cover all aspects including cognitive therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and much more . If I could give 50 stars I would. Unbelievably thankful for this great place.

Fantastic experience: Tomorrow I graduate from what I refer to as my mental, emotional and physical Navy Seals Boot Camp! 3 months of physical therapy, 8 hours a day for last 3 months @ Rehabilitation Institute Of Washington in Seattle. Incredible place. Many helped to make this really hurt old guy whole and young again... They broke me down but they didn't let me fall. My mind and body are now one. Broken back 2 years made my brain afraid of pain. It was too intense, it was too much pain. RIW got me back... I felt remnants of a 6 month kidney/UTI infection for first time 2 weeks ago. I felt no symtoms. Pain from broken back overshadowed everything. Now almost off all meds. 18 years. No more chronic pain. For 3 months, I was well taken care of there. And at home too. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. We made it! They all gave me and taught me the tools so I can heal myself . As of now, I have no injuries, only bruises and bruises sooner or later disappear, just like my past 18 years is long enough. Now gonna start a new healthy life no past life, just a new adventure everyday. Words cannot express how grateful I am to have been here. All the people here are my right angles . Tomorrow, no today, is 1st day of an incredibly great life I have. Looking forward to it! But sad... good sad. I'm the Icream man! Bad Humor.. ha...

Positive experience: Although not all the way gone the RIW treatment helped minimize frequency of the the swelling and discoloration in my foot that the CRPS causes. Unfortunately the extreme pain is still an all day everyday reality for me. But the doctors and therapists at RIW have been and still are a big help in dealing with my CRPS...

Fantastic experience: I sustained a traumatic spinal cord injury with subsequent cauda equina diagnosis while doing demolitions work ...This condition leaves one with little choice other than drastic measures to save what can be saved in terms of body mechanics ,and nerve function .. I was in the best shape of my life starring down the barrel of a three level spinal fusion ,and five hernia repairs ... After the dust settled from my surgeries I found my self lacking the proper tools to move forward in a positive manner ... I'm glad I gave R.I.W. a chance ..I'm glad I gave myself a chance to learn new skills in coping with my new body . I was given tools to help cope with the trauma that I had been through both physically ,and mentally .. By a staff that is genuinely invested in your progress . I cannot stress enough how thankful my family ,and I are for the time ,and effort given to my case by the caring ,and knowledgeable staff members at R.I.W. Thanks you . Rehabilitation institute of Washington Give yourself a chance .Give them a chance .You are worth it !!
