Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Cape Coral: Reviews
Fantastic experience: The staff at Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Cape Coral were incredibly compassionate and attentive. Always going the extra mile to make the residents comfortable and cared for.
Fantastic experience: The facility is beautiful and the staff is amazing. Everyone is very helpful.
Fantastic experience: I visit this facility often bc my job as care manager. The facility has a great staff, pretty nice people, flexible, and accommodating. My members report they feel happy and safe. I’m glad they are there!
Fantastic experience: Staff is responsive and attentive to your needs.
Fantastic experience: I just wanted to thank all the staff, and especially Robin for going 110% to help us with all our needs for my father. I would recommend the facility to my friends and family. Thank you so much for everything.
Fantastic experience: This facility is outstanding. The best qualities is there therapy and I want have been progressing step-by-step working on goals. I’ve gone from unable to move my arm at all to Rhen. I can move my arm, my wrist, and now I be able to move my fingers not yet where I want them, but Got me in therapy. I think they’re doing impatient with me so I can get this stuff done. I have goals and I have to learn to take my time and do it right again. I’ve been some other facilities where they don’t really care and every place has a few people like that Therapy not like that Fantastic
Negative experience: Old facility and nurses are under staffed. If you want your loved one to have good care you need to be there during all visiting hours. Call buttons dont work so patients are yelling for nurses or ringing a literal bell. Apparently 30 patients to one nurse is typical which is extremely sad. These people do not make enough money. I dont know what they make, but they deserve more. Great nurses, but they are stretched extremely thin.
Fantastic experience: The staff was awesome. The physical therapy was just what I needed. Everyone was friendly and listened to my needs and more. If you need services that they offer this is the best place for you. Lee Lacy
Negative experience: They are horrendous. Don't take care of patients. Better off in dog kennel
Fantastic experience: Great customer service, when I spoke with the admissions team Alyssa assisted me with answering any questions I had about the facility.
Fantastic experience: Having dealt with many rehab centers throughout the area, I can honestly say that my experience dealing with this facility has been one of the best I've had. The admissions department has been extremely helpful giving me any information I need, giving me a tour of the facility, amd answered all my questions. Rosa is SO friendly and truly is the best at her job!
Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience here! The admission team was on point and made my family member feel comfortable. Very kind and welcoming, they make sure you are taken care of!
Fantastic experience: I toured the facility last week for my family member. It is an older facility but the staff that are there are very compassionate. They truly care about the residents.
Fantastic experience: The admissions team is so kind and courteous! They made the transition from the hospital to the facility so smooth and even came to the hospital to check on my dad. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Have witnessed compassion and kindness for all staff members, not just clinical staff.
Fantastic experience: Communication with the admissions team went smoothly for a patient transfer. The team was responsive, able to get a patient in quickly, and assisted me in completing the paperwork. Thank you for your help!
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff nurses are easy to work with
Fantastic experience: Great staff all the way around. The therapy department is second to none. I highly recommend this facility!
Positive experience: It’s an old building that could use some updating, but the staff I spoke with were nice.
Negative experience: I dont know how they took of my review and pictures of roaches off it was an honest review I was in this place and its horrible like everyone says the staff should be charged with abuse of the elderly
Negative experience: My mother was there for 12 days this month. It took them 10 days to give her the correct medication. I had to call them repeatedly. They added medication she was not supposed to be on. She has dementia and can’t speak for herself. Her clothes went missing. She sat in wet depends for hours with no one to check on her. If you have any other choices- do not send your love one here!! She said the food was good :/
Fantastic experience: I see many horrible reviews about this nursing home and am giving my 2 cents. The staff here are caring for family members that either we cannot care for or do not want to care for. Their job is not an easy one, generally thankless and yet every day they come back and do it again. 99.9% of the staff at CCRH are simply AMAZING, kind, concerned, hard working, attentive, friendly, in light of having some of the toughest & unwanted jobs to carry out. As in EVERY facet of life, there are many great people and a few not so great. Yes, it does not smell like a Ritz Carlton here, because it is not a hotel. It is a nursing home. During Hurricane Ian, they had to evacuate the WHOLE building and each and every employee was facing the same peril with their homes, families and lives... yet they STAYED to help move OUR family members to safety. Not once, but twice and finally back to Cape Coral. Moving wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, dementia patients, the bedridden, the scared, angry and confused. And they did it with grace and not much, if any thanks. Say what you want, but think twice before you do. If in their position, how well would you do the job? With MUCH thanks and gratitude to ALL of those at Cape Coral Rehab & Healthcare for caring for those of whom we can't. Very sincerely, the daughter of Marlene M.
Negative experience: Would not even put my dog in there! My husband was there for three nights, when he ended up going back to the hospital. He complained about them not cleaning him, When he returned back to the hospital he was soiled. No PT had been performed which is why he was there in the first place. The case worker was polite there, but ewww, the place should be condemned. Poor girls that choose to work there! Never again!
Negative experience: We were referred here by Lee Health after complications from a fall. Do yourself a favor - do not send your family member here. The nusing staff was inattentive, rude, and uncaring. The attending doctors were rarely there. The food was horrendous. They appear to house patients with psych issues on the same floor as rehab patients. Bad experience overall - shame on the social worker from Lee Health who referred us here.
Negative experience: My father waited over 2 hours for a nurse to help him to the bathroom.i waited in the room to see how long it would take the nurses where on there phones they weren't busy helping other patients they don't care and it's so upsetting
Negative experience: My mother was transferred there from another facility. Trying to get any information on her condition was fruitless. The receptionist was very rude. I hope my Mom is OK.
Fantastic experience: I had some concerns about a loved one of mine, It was addressed quickly when brought to the DON.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful facility with great therapy services! Whether you’re in need of short term rehab or long term care- they can assist!
Fantastic experience: I Would recommend this facility to my loved one.
Positive experience: Staff improving, helpful and attentive!
Fantastic experience: I am proud to work along side such a caring management team. Things are slowly falling into place with our new management team. Teamwork is impeccable.
Fantastic experience: Well organized and staffed facility. They really care about the residents and family. The new management has done wonders since taking on their positions.
Fantastic experience: Very clean facility, very nice staff very quick with admission would recommend to any friends or family in need of their services
Negative experience: HORRIBLE place DO NOT put your loved ones lives in their hands!!!! They almost killed my mother on 6 separate occasions. They are scandals, liars, thieves and not educated for their job titles. I dealt with them for the worst 2 years of my life. I was in the process of suing them until my mother took a turn for the worst and I couldn't afford to give that matter any of my time and effort.
Negative experience: As patient at this very moment, this place needs to be investigated asap. Filthy. Food dose not meet quality standards. Staff rude evil and cruel. Can't be bother to do their jobs. I have had major surgery, can not just stand or walk. Ring for help no one comes to help. You can lay in a pee docked bed for hours. If you have a loved one here, I would get them out as fast as possible.
Negative experience: The facility is awful. The bathroom smells like a urinal and many of the staff have no business attending to the elderly. If they’re not overtly abusive, their nasty attitudes and behaviors go right up to the line. There are a couple of exceptions, but the adage of ‘one bad apple’ may be replaced with ‘a bushel of bad apples’ in this instance. Do NOT condemn any of your loved ones to this place. And if there are no alternatives, a well-placed hidden microphone and camera will serve you well. This facility should be shut down.
Negative experience: A close relative is a permanent resident here. The staff does their best, but they are clearly overstretched. The cleanliness leaves something to be desired and has actually gone downhill since he arrived last summer. Not only is he not showered regularly, despite our requests, the floor and surfaces are always dirty as well. Something was spilled on the air conditioning unit and wasn't cleaned after multiple visits. When addressed with the office staff, there wasn't any real resolution and nothing has changed.
Negative experience: You better keep close care of a loved one at this place. The system is set up to keep the patient there as long as possible and to only discharge when they can't or their insurance won't pay any more. And you won't any updates on their condition via phone or online unless you call. My Dad is NEVER going back here.
Negative experience: This place deserves zero stars. Call lights rarely answered, staff put an alarm on my husband against his will and wouldn’t remove it when he told them he was leaving AMA. He was there for physical therapy rehab after hospitalization for weakness. OT came 1 time, physical therapy came 3 times even though they were both ordered daily. Staff never offered to get him out of bed to walk or sit up in a chair. Staff was lazy and didn’t want to help him walk to the bathroom so they tried to get him to wear diapers.he’s of sound mind and only 65, just needed to regain some strength. I wouldn’t send my dog to that place. The list goes on and on but this is just a small list of complaints.
Negative experience: This Rehabilitation Center should be CONDEMED!!! The Nursing staff is TOTALLY incompetent. A patient was in there 3-4 DAYS! The patient probably would have died if someone hadn't intervened. Also the patient's property has come up MISSING!! Which is "par for the course". If it's not nailed down, it's GONE!!! If you love your family member or friend, find somewhere else for them to be cared for. Because they will NOT get even the "basic care" needed.
Negative experience: My 65 year old father went to this rehab center for help getting his balance back after a quick stint with diabetic keto acidosis. All he needed help with was regaining his strength. He went in with the promise of a weeks worth of physical therapy. While he was there, they refused him showers due to a shortage of towels, didn’t answer his call light (ever), tried to put him in diapers when he would ask for help standing to use the restroom, and when he expressed that he was leaving AMA they slapped an ankle monitor on him and refused to remove it when my mom and brother came to pick him up. He did not receive any of the therapy that he was promised. At one point they came into his room and tried to give him middle of the night medications that were not prescribed to him because they had the wrong chart. After he was discharged they called and informed us that he had covid, again looking at the wrong chart. Would not recommend this place for my pet rock.
Positive experience: Following my second surgery, I requested to return to Cape Rehab, primarily for the Therapy Department. They are excellent and very creative, setting up a group where patients can have fun while exercising; very inventive "games" to improve range of motion, etc. Can't praise them enough. The Nurses are very good and most CNA's good as well. Could be quicker in answering call lights! Food was OK and sometimes really good to where I sent a "compliment to the chef". Overall very pleased.
Negative experience: Dirty, small 2 people rooms, do not follow dietary needs or medicine dispensed at proper times. Takes up to one hour for a bathroom call. Workers standing in halls talking and ignoring when a light is on. Would not put anyone I love here.
Negative experience: I'm going to have to be honest.... every time I'm here I get a headache within seconds. The smell is terrible. Staff don't seem to care that they have spills/urine on the floor in common areas. My Aunt is a nurse and is taking care of my Grandmother more than the staff are.
Negative experience: DO NOT SEND OR GO HERE. TERRIBLE CRUEL TREATMENT. If I could give no stars I would. The list of cons is so long, but care is the worst if you are restricted to bed you will sit in your soil for hours, and brought lunch and told to eat first. Nurses try but get no support from most CNA's. Management is oblivious. filthy rooms, visiting is 24/7 no quiet time. RUDE-told you're "not that important". COCKROACHES, the toilet is filthy, I watched CNAs use dirty towels to clean a patient- I could go on and on.
Negative experience: Patient allowed to sit in blood soaked sheets for hours, blood soaked sheet placed on wheelchair as a pad then flipped to other side. Patient fell but it was denied that it happened, filthy mattress pad, patient calls not answered in timely fashion. Took my husband out after three days. He was then admitted to the hospital. Stay away
Fantastic experience: They took care of my husband for 5 years excellent staff from the receptionist CNA therapy nurses office staff had a few problems but was handled immediately and taken care of thank you again For keep him happy every one love La la
Fantastic experience: My brother, Al, spent 24 days here after being in the hospital for a month. The care was exceptional...beyond our expectations. Nikki's communication and responsiveness made all the difference in the world. She addressed every question & concern promptly. Cindy and Nikki put together an excellent care plan & managed it closely. Olena was wonderful to work with as she directly managed by brother's medical needs. The physical therapy and occupational therapy staff, under the direction of Liz, are a group of very skilled and talented individuals. I wish there was space to mention each one of them. In addition, my brother loved the food here. If we ever have a need again, we would return without hesitation. Thank you to the entire staff!
Negative experience: This place needs to be shut down none of the staff qualified to serve. Please, please keep your love one out of this place.
Negative experience: This is a facility where a blanket is being used as a chuck (pee pad), the commode is in the bathroom and the legs only have rubber feet on two out of four, resulting in a rocking chair, there is also no bucket in the commode. I observed a CNA walk into the room with gloves on and proceed to help ha patient get up. I did not see any glove boxes on the wall outside/inside the room, so I do not know where the gloves were put on. There is no tv remote we were told "maybe admissions can find one in the morning" the patient was admitted at around 6pm at night. Staff, upon arriving, had to unlock the door with a code, there were people waiting to go in. No one went into the room after patient was admitted, no type of admission physical check was done. Patient had been calling for help for over 15 minutes before I went there, I was told by the nurse that a CNA had been in, but the CNA left to "go find a commode" (it was in her bathroom, lol). The CNA that took her to the bathroom filled the sink with water and had hand towels in it. They were used to "wash" her up for the night, including her private area after he wiped it with toilet paper. There is an odor in the facility, I am just not sure what it was, it isn't really urine.
Negative experience: Just say No. Do not send your loved ones here for rehabilitation. No visitors, no phones in the rooms, zero communication from staff about your loved one, don't answer call buttons, and don't manage pain so you are set up to fail from the get go.
Negative experience: My mom caught COVID-19 at that facility 3 weeks ago two days before she was suppose to come home because they had her in a room with a patient that had Covid! Now, my mom is still in the hospital trying to recover from this awful under staff facility. WARNING: if you care about your family remember never let them go there. I’ve already reported this place twice to DHS. They’re very unorganized and lack of communication between all departments! They don’t even deserve one star my mother could of die under their care. Thank God I checked up on my mom
Fantastic experience: My grandmother, grandfather, and multiple close family friends have gone to this facility, and the reviews on here doesn’t describe it one bit. My family members were cared for by a staff of people who genuinely wanted them to heal. I remember specifically that our nurse took the time to speak and hear what my grandmother had to say. It’s like they became good friends! Plus, they serve pretty good meals and have fantastic physical therapists that healed my grandma within a few weeks after her fall. I’m thankful for the care they provided, and if I ever need a rehab visit, this will be my first choice.
