It is often hard to complete hand exercises if you are experiencing pain from arthritis. Possible inflammation and rough joint surfaces can make movement irritable at times.

There is hope to strengthen the hand without causing pain! Isometric exercises can be an effective way to strengthen disused muscles because of pain with movement. Overtime you can progress to moving weight through a range of motion!

For all the isometric exercises, hold for 5-8 seconds and complete 5-8 reps for 2 sets. Let pain be your judge on how hard you should push and how long. Try to work at a relatively pain free intensity.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to therapy 4 times in the pass. I felt like just a number and it wasn’t one on one therapy. I went to the office in Boynton Beach. Dr. Benjamin Maurer was fantastic! First I appreciated the way he listened to me about my problem. Very polite and seems to really want to help people improve themselves. I loved his energy and great personality. I was dreading going to therapy but after my first visit I am actually looking forward to it.????

Fantastic experience: I have been using Devoted PT for quite a while. The owner is extremely helpful determining the pt needed for my injury. The staff works with you asking questions regarding the treatment such as any pain , are you comfortable, etc. I would recommend using them whenever needed.

Fantastic experience: Our daughter has been receiving treatment for back pain. So far she has been progressing well over the last several weeks and is in less pain every week. The physical therapists are very knowledgeable and they make the exercises very fun for her. They also take the time to thoroughly explain every exercise and make sure she is doing them correctly in the right form. We’re looking forward to continued progress!

Fantastic experience: I have known Dr. DeRosa for multiple years and have been under his care on more than one occasion. He is always kind, patient, explains everything in detail and is the utmost professional. The times that I have been to his office, versus an in-home visit the location is clean, orderly and has a wide array of equipment. I highly recommend Devoted Physical Therapy and Dr. DeRosa.
