The Madison on Marsh

Negative experience: The CNAs working at this facility seem to do a good job, but there are just not enough of them. God forbid you ask a nurse to assist with a family member in need (Sophia being the nurse) you will be told “that’s not my job…ask a CNA). I understand, everyone has job duties but when you are sitting on your phone and someone needs assistance maybe help a coworker out along with the resident & residents family.

Fantastic experience: Kristen is the first smiling face that greets us every time. We've asked many different questions over the years and she has answered every question asked. Mark is the best resident caretaker at this facility. We need more like him and his positive attitude. Sheena is very versatile at all the different tasks that she accomplishes. Sheena is the driving force for correcting issues/situations that occur more often than not. Her dedication is obvious even on weekends. Though I might not name the rest by name due to my unsureness, week day/ weekend medication nurse( Joey) are great at there jobs and friendly. The cafeteria staff could try to serve the meals at a standardized time Monday thru Sunday. Jennifer has assisted us with answers that only she would known. She has informed me on many topics that were extremely helpful in the care of my mother-in-law. Overall we are satisfied with the care of our family member

Negative experience: Ok so here are the events that took place 1). First night, I got a shot that was told was welcoming shot, when I asked what it was i was only told it was the welcoming shot. I asked 4 times and got the same answer. 2. Thursday morning my nurse Kenneth looked up my meds and could see they were ordered but had not arrived yet. He couldn’t tell me when i would get them because of the holiday so he went into their emergency stash and got me my pain pill and he looked in the headache emergency of those pills and said that they were not any. So i took my norco that he gave me. Meanwhile I can feel a migraine coming. 3. 3 TIMES a different nurse would come in my room to give me pills but they had a different patients name. When I told them that was not my name they were like OMG i came in the wrong room 3 times this happened twice on Thursday and once on Friday. 4. Now the same nurse Kenneth is back and he is trying to find my meds Still not there and he had no more in the emergency stash. 5. PT came in worked with me for the first time in 2 weeks i was walking with the walker. I was determined to get out. He did not want to leave me the walker cause i was too wobbly on it. It was not me that was wobbly it was the walker that was and he needed the maintenance man to fix it before he could leave it with me 6. I could tell by the PT guy who was good was also about keeping patients there as long as he could.. i figured it had something to do with how many patients he had. 7. The Assit Dr came to see me. She too was going to look into where my meds were. Since now they got my narco but the pill for my head didn’t make it and she could look at me and know i was fighting a migraine as she explained she suffers from them as well. 8. Keep in mind the hospital Doctor told me that it was extremely important to continue taking the drugs plus my other ones at the time they were suppose to be taken. (He called managing my pain.That would help me in a big way manage my pain. The new pills he prescribed where working and i needed to be taking my pills at the exact time he told me too 9. Now it’s Friday and I am completely no longer able to follow the doctors orders cause Madsion could not get me my pills. So there was no longer managing my pain 10. Now its 6 clock and i asked for something for pain. When she finally came back cause she had the pill signed off on it was 6:30. I asked about the headache medicine and she said it was not here yet. I told her I wanted mto see who is over here and she said they are not here. 11. Upon me getting to the front there was a nurse in charge name Angela now she wants to talk to me… “why are you leaving” I lost it and went down all the these reasons and she told me they didn’t even have a nurse name Mary. She’s says well let me try and get your meds tonight 12. Meanwhile I am outside waiting for my Urber. Angela is trying to get me to come inside… she had the director of nursing on the phone ready to allow me to get my meds and take them as needed. (I have already missed 3 days) Then David (former family member) 13. Forget the fact that my on former family was not taking into consideration that my pain level was almost at 10… as far as I am concerned they were not getting involved. 14. When David found out my roommate would not be home til 10:30 he was “why am I just now finding out that Larry is not home. (I was not even going to touch that one)David (former family member) was telling me to go back inside and at least wait til Larry gets home. Nope 15. So I left to come home. 16. I called the case worker explaining I had left the hospital and I needed her to call me. 17. I also called my doctors office from the hospital and left a message for him 18. I emailed my internal medicine doctor also to explain everything to her. 19. So i think I have done everything I could possibly do. With no help from what I once called family. 21. They asked me to come in and sign out I was not signing anything. i knew if went back they could lock the door so i couldn’t leave.

Positive experience: After my husband was almost put into a coma at Signature Pointe facility We found Madison on the Marsh It was a God send that we found this place It was not too big that made me at ease and he came out alot better than he went in Thk you again

Negative experience: Do not send any of your family or friends to this place. Staff are unprofessional, rude and racist. Being yelled at over a chair is uncalled for!

Negative experience: visiting family member on weekend. pushed red help button. no help came. No one to monitor the help button. beds are very old. beds need bed alarm. ignorant/ dumb staff. Upper Management needs to "clean house".

Fantastic experience: this is a great active facility, residents are up and moving daily, bingo 3x a week with singers and ministers coming in once/twice every week. staff is very helpful and attentive to resident needs.

Positive experience: My mother stayed here about 3 weeks and was fortunate to have her own room. The physical therapists were great. The day staff seemed almost overchallenged with responsibilities but seem to genuinely care about their interactions with patients. The food is okay, but could be better. There was a piano in the main foyer my mother could play which gave her a good reason to walk there and back in the evenings. I appreciate all they did for my mother throughout her stay there. She left in a better condition thanks to their efforts.

Negative experience: Do not bring your loved ones to this facility. I have caught nurses giving my mother of the wrong medication if they give it to her at all. The nurses are rude. They scream at their patients. They refused to help them go to the bathroom. They did not allow my mother to turn on her light. They have moved her room. The nurses have treated her horrendously. I called the state on them

Negative experience: I think they ran out of food. Yesterday dinner was 3 tiny meatballs and a salad that passed for garnish today something that could pass as diarrhea

Positive experience: My experience at Madison on Marsh has been mostly very positive. The people who have tended to my husband's needs who I'd like to commend are Shelley, activities director (not sure that's her title), Marc, and nurses Mary and Angela, and "T". The care and respect they show their patients is exemplary.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing place. They took care of my loved one extremely well. The food was very good, they had lots of activities, and you could tell that the nurses really cared about their patients. They were kind enough to even put my loved one on double portioned meals to make sure that she was able to get enough food to eat. Her room always smelled clean even though she has bathroom issues, and she always looked very nicely dressed, which is not something I experienced at the previous place my loved one lived in. I would have loved to have stayed at this facility, but unfortunately my loved one required a little bit more care than they were set up for. Highly suggest the Madison on March. Not only was my loved one here, but my great grandmother was as well. And we've always had good experiences

Fantastic experience: me and my family toured this building for our grandmother who only needed a couple weeks of therapeutic rehab and we loved it. the receptionist was friendly and started off the tour for us and showed us everything and also answered every question we had, it was very clean as we walked, the residents were all out in the foyer greeting us as we walked past they seemed very active and as we were leaving they were all in the dining room having lunch which we loved as we dont our grandma to feel lonely, the therapy team had patients in the gym and were also very attentive at answering our questions. we got introduced to a couple staff members and they all greeted us with smiles and even left us with their business cards. after we started the admission process and got grandma situated she was very happy with how she was cared for and how they played bingo monday, wednesday and friday. she loved the stay and said this was were she wanted to return too if the time came again. Thank you Madison team!!

Negative experience: This facility was the worst kind of place I could have brought my father after he was readmitted to a hospital following a stay in a rehab facility which made him more sick than when he arrived. The nursing staff would not respond quickly. A patient in the room next to his was paging for a nurse to change her bedpan for almost an hour before I stepped in and she asked me to help. There were several long waits for this sort of thing for my father, some more than 45 minutes. I had to complain several times about his worsening condition after he was admitted before anyone would respond medically. The staff lied to me many times about what he was getting and I told the case manager after this had happened that I did not trust her. She would bully me about complaining and I had tried to get him out of this place two weekends but was obstructed by the receptionist, staff, and nurses. During his 20 days there useful tests were run too late. He lost 35 pounds during that time and the needed test was run only on his discharge date. I cannot be sure that he was ever treated properly and can say that he suffered abuse due to medical negligence and I was again lied to about obtaining treatment history for the discharge to another hospital. Toward the end of his stay there, the administrative staff were playing games with me — a heinous insult after what had already happened there. To sum it up, this is neither a nursing nor a rehab facility. It is a negligence center and should be closed forever. The employees could not handle these patients and most of them left before my father was discharged.

Negative experience: We had a loved one stay here and she was absolutely miserable. Staff was uncaring and harsh, food was terrible, they even argued with her about not giving her meds. We removed her as soon as we could.

Negative experience: I was just admitted here for rehabilitation after knee surgery 3 days ago. I was told my pain medication regimen would be kept to schedule only to find out they don't have my pain meds. The Dr is not responding. Bed The bed is hard and hurting my leg to lay on. Not a good impression at all. Um leaving tomorrow.

Negative experience: Medication was not dispensed as prescribed, and in one instance withheld, necessitating an EKG which was not sent to my cardiologist for follow-up, as they told me they did. One of many mishaps. I decry leaving less than a stellar review but it is what it is. One huge ray of light was my fabulous therapist, Raul, who deserves 10 Stars for being the absolute best. There were a few others who deserve commendation, like George.

Negative experience: My best friends mother was sent over to this facility on 6/11/23 and we went and removed her from there the very next day! The nurse told her when she arrived that she knew she was going to be trouble, she was told she needed hospice because she was going to die, she was told to shut up, and was not checked on the whole night. Her daughter got a call the following morning from her mom and her mom was crying from the pain she was in and she, as well as all her bedding, was soaked in pee. They said they were too busy doing their job. Last I checked their job is taking care of the patients. This is completely unacceptable. The head nurse actually asked for another chance. You get 1 chance when it comes to our parents. Shame on you for asking for more. I think it’s time to clean house there. Patients as well as their family should not have to worry if they are going to be taken care of. Such a shame that this seems to be okay here. If I could give them a negative review I would because they truly do not even deserve a 1!!!

The administrator is someone I’ve known for a long time and she deserves a ton of praise for holding everyone to the highest of standards. Love this place!

Communication with the staff and management was always clear and prompt. They kept us well-informed about my grandmother's progress, allowing us to be actively involved in her care. Any concerns we had were addressed with the utmost care and professionalism. Leaving my grandmother at The Madison was a difficult decision, but it turned out to be the best one we could have made. The progress she made during her time there was astounding, and we owe it all to the wonderful team at The Madison Rehabilitation Center. If you're looking for a rehabilitation center that combines exceptional care, state-of-the-art facilities, and a genuinely compassionate environment, look no further than The Madison. They have not only restored my grandmother's physical strength but also her zest for life.
