Janelle Johnson MPT, a certified physical therapist, credentialed APTA Clinical Instructor, certified ASTYM Provider is SOC new Director of Physical Therapy

Spine & Orthopedic Center is proud to welcome Janelle Johnson as our new Director of Physical Therapy.  Janelle is a dedicated and passionate physical therapist whose main focus on the somatic relationship between body and mind for rehabilitation and recovery has led her to an exceptional career through her almost 10 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics.

A South Florida native, Janelle has always been passionate about sports and exercise as she played soccer and softball growing up in Coral Springs.  She became a personal trainer after completing her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL on 2004.  She then went on to obtain her Masters in Physical Therapy from California State University on Long Beach, CA.

Janelle is also a Credentialed Clinical Instructor of the APTA allowing her to provide a structured and effective learning environment for the growth of our physical therapy department.   Furthermore, she is one of a handful of Certified ASTYM Therapy Provider in South Florida for spine, upper and lower extremities, shoulder girdle and pelvis.

ASTYM therapy is a new treatment method that regenerates healthy soft issues and eliminates (or reduces) scar tissue which may be causing movement restrictions or pain.

As the new Director of Physical Therapy, Janelle will manage most clinical aspects of the department and coordinate the evaluation and treatment of patients adhering to SOC mission and core values.

“I’m excited to join SOC as I believe an integrated approach is the future of medicine.  The communication amongst the doctor and therapist plays an integral part of healing and optimal health. I feel that my passion and experience will be a good fit for SOC and I’m excited for what the future holds” said Janelle.

In her spare time, Janelle usually spends time with her family and friends.  She also enjoys working out, going to the beach, wine tasting and outdoor activities.
