Fantastic experience: The staff is wonderful and loving ❤️ and will challenge you to get better and back on your feet

Negative experience: Facility in disrepair. Understaffed, though the staff genuinely cares about the patients. Food is awful - often served cold/undercooked.

Negative experience: There kitchen staff during weekends like to lie and state that they give the proper drinks and such to the residents they don't read the slips for the residents or they just are plain out ignorant and don't care. The Nurses and CNA's are awesome they have compassion for the residents.

Positive experience: Helpful staff & administration. I would use this place myself. I can say the food is 2/5.

Negative experience: The care at Harbourwood Care is ATROCIOUS! The duty of fulfilling their responsibilities for 24 hour supervised medical care, administering medications, wound care, managing chronic conditions and ensuring a safe, comfortable living environment...they failed! The duty to provide hygiene care, bathing, dressing, eating, toileting and laundry...they failed! My mother-in-law, Evelyn, passed away on 6/27/25 at Harbourwood Care Facility. She had balance issues which required assistance to stand. She constantly had UTI's from little to no hygiene assistance. She was often left unchanged from the night before till the afternoon. Doctor appointments were missed due to negligence arranging transportation. The food service department follows NO dietary protocols or considerations for medically necessary conditions. The doctor assigned was USELESS. When my wife called him for help, he was rude, uncaring, denied what we know to be facts, and refused to provide any additional orders or even suggestions to get Evelyn proper care. My wife and I reside in another state and flew down several times a year to visit and check on things. We flew down that week after receiving a call stating that Evelyn was not doing good and was nearing the end.Evelyn passed away without the assigned doctor ever seeing her, he signed the death certificate listing the cause as coronary. All without ever seeing her! We were there from morning til night so we know he didn't come in at all. My mother in law died from undiagnosed C-Dif. The week Evelyn died, she had diarrhea all week, with an odor so bad that the Nurse Practitioner diagnosed it immediately upon checking on her late Thursday afternoon on the 6/26/25. She ordered a sample be taken to the lab for verification immediately. She ordered antibiotics to be started immediately and ordered IV fluids to be started because she, without a doubt, knew it was C-Dif. She also told us that with proper treatment recovery was possible. Well the meds ordered were not started til much later, the IV fluids were never given and the sample ordered by the nurse Practitioner never made it to the lab. In fact, it was left on the night stand! Evelyn died the next morning. Now the second part of this story. My sister-in-law, Donna, was also a resident at Harbourwood. She was bedridden with Multiple Sclerosis, Kidney Failure, Diabetes and a previous Heart Attack. She passed away at Harbourwood on 8/9/25 six weeks after my mother in law. The doctor from Mease Countryside Hospital informed me that although he tried to bring her back, too much time elapsed. Harbourwood waited too long to call 911. The reason for this delay was the standing order; that NO ONE can authorize any patient to be sent to the emergency room without approval from the Director of Nursing! Well, it just so happens that she was off for the weekend and it would need to wait till Monday 8/11/25. The on duty Nurses wanted to send her to the hospital on Friday, 8/8/25 and when she was unresponsive on Saturday 8/9/25. She died before 911 being called. To add further frustration, her cardiologist appointment on the Tuesday 8/7/25 prior to her death was canceled by Harbourwood because Harbourwood never made her transportation arrangements. So an appointment that possibly could have detected a problem and saved her life never happened because of both negligence and incompetence! The same exact thing happened, to my MIL, her cardiologist appointment was canceled for the same reason! Coincidence? Negligence? Incompetence? The level of hygiene care is atrocious. My mother in law was never without a UTI infection. Her incontenince was a major problem with the staff. She was often left the entire day unchanged from the night before. Both my wife and I were frequent flyers in filing online complaints with ACHA, Agency for Health Care Administration. After an inspection visit things would improve for about a day or two. Then right back to the same old poor care. The food service was a constant complaint to ACHA and Harbourwood administration. NOTHING CHANGED.

Negative experience: Run away with your loved one fast as you can. Disorganized, unstaffed , unprofessional, no supplies, lawsuit waiting to happen. Staff and agency, which crawls all over this place openly talk so horribly about the patients and their families. Staff comes in smelling like a marijuana factory and supervisors just turn a blind eye.Neglect is a big factor here. It's hard to do a med pass, for you are constantly interrupted answering call lights. CNAs ghost in the daytime and blatantly sleep in the nighttime. Staff lied in report as to what work has been completed, ie labs , paperwork, etc. They wanted to hire me here, but I put the brakes on super fast. NOTE: The majority of good reviews were from years ago. This place used to be aces, but no more. Please take your loved one elsewhere. Blessings!

Fantastic experience: My dad had emergency major brain surgery after the discovery of a life threatening tumor. He was just fine one day, then in an instant- changed forever. His recovery has been very difficult- and he now needs 24 hour care. Without HarbourWood and the committed staff there I don’t know where we would be. Terri has been so amazing and is Gods angel. So is Nurse Angela and Nikia (sorry spelling) who are always smiling. Shay and Chris at the front desk make you feel welcome. Michael one of dad’s therapists is patient and encouraging. I’m so sorry I don’t remember everyone’s names, but I’m grateful to everyone. The facility is always clean and each week when I visit my dad always says he’s comfortable. Is it perfect? No. I can’t imagine any facility is. Nursing facility health care providers are Gods gift doing the most important work. I know my dad is cared for and I am so very grateful.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Harbour Wood facility. The people are very nice and helpful and the food really good. They have activities for patients to get involved in. Nice location too.

Negative experience: My mother never got the care she needed. It’s sad you have no idea in what this nursing home evils doing. If they call for assistance no help ci es they can’t even change a diaper they leave them in soil for hours. I don’t know the type yall hire but you might wanna fire all of them and bring in ones that do. This sickins me that humans can be this evil. Yall need to get your mental issues checked or go find another job

Negative experience: Where should I start! I'm glad that some of these reviews are good, Because you are very lucky to have good care there,But with my experience and my mom's care was nothing good! The staff are not compassionate and unprofessional, My mom care was nothing but a bother to them! She will hit the red button for nurse assistant and they would come 1hr later or not at all. I had to go up there on a few occasions to assist my mom for her needs! If you care for your loved ones this is not the place to take them do your research and find another place! I can sit here and go on and on. But the last resort was I took her out of there. Oh wait I forgot to mention the food I would not feed what they serve to my Dog! But anyways my mom is home! Good luck! Beware of this Place ☠️☠️☠️

Negative experience: My mom is in that place and her friend also. Their keeping their checks even though they have houses to pay for. My mom had hip replacement and supposed to have been there for rehab but they kept her so drugged that she would be confused and disoriented and delusional. This place has damaged her well being so bad. She was fine mentally before going there and their taking advantage of that and now stealing her retirement money. Same thing happening to her friend. I'm consulting a lawyer cause this is unacceptable. Like their both being held hostage. The nurses treat her like she's crazy but she was fine before setting foot in that place

Negative experience: This company seems to have little regard for the many hundreds of residents living around it, particularly at the Solaris Key luxury apartment complex, which surrounds the giant monstrosity of an outdated industrial HVAC unit that HWCC installed/is using (potentially in need of repair). The incessant whirring of this contraption goes on all hours. For the past year or so this gigantic structure, visible from over the barricade, suddenly started resonating to all of us as though via being placed an empty amphitheater, for at least two long blocks in radius. It was placed at the edge of the grounds, perhaps so as not to disturb their own clients; however, the rest of us are relegated for listening to the this antiquated, ground-vibrating contraption day in and day out. I am certain it must affect all of the abundant wildlife that live(d) here. It used to be so quiet at Solaris Key before HarbourWood selfishly made this "upgrade." We would appreciate if the facility would please consider the sensitivities of those they impact. Their disregard for the general public, to me, raises questions about how they might similarly treat their patients--a suspicion that other reviews seem to substantiate. PS - A dear friend of mine who is extremely compassionate, also had numerous difficulties, including getting paid, as a part-time employee here. She has since left that position.

Fantastic experience: All I have to say is 2 words. Excellent Care ! Our mother Eldra has recently been admitted needing total care and at risk for falls. This facility has definitely shown us what quality care is all about...thank u nurse Eric, Erica,Darlene, Dentrel, Glacie, Angela, Marsha, Fanta and all the beautifuC.N A's that have shown compassion to our mother, Eldra ~ thank you

Negative experience: My 82 yr old neighbor was in this place for 3 day, food was not good, nursers were nice enough, but always passed the buck and nothing got done. He almost lost all his clothes because of it! His name was NEVER put on his items! Easy theft! Checked himself out early cuz he just couldn't handle being there! Got home and someone went through his wallet while he was sleeping and stole all his cash. KARMA Now he has to put a stop/watch on all his credit cards! I should have known something was wrong when a nurse hand me on my very first visit, another patients information! YES! I kept it as proof! Can we say HIPPA VIOLATION! My advice.... DON'T DO IT!

Negative experience: If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I cannot express to you how fake these reviews are, the photos online are fake/staged. I feel bad saying this because I know there are good people that work there and mean well. But the lack of care and professionalism was so bad. Making my family wrong for demanding basic needs be met, some CNAs not knowing how to change feeding tubes, getting grossed out, fighting in front of family and patients, people quitting and getting fired every other week, refusing to help my mom when she was choking saying it violated protocols, waiting days to get bathed, waiting hours to get her changed, Doctors fighting with us or reading her chart the once a week visit, not knowing or remembering the drugs they gave her, the list goes on. This place is elder abuse. No one wanted my mom to get better, they just gave up so easily on her. We had to hire someone to stay with her 8 hours a day because they wouldn’t service her unless someone demanded it (my mom was almost fully paralyzed so we could only advocate for her, she couldn’t speak). I could go on about how horrible this place was (once again there were people who tried and cared, but so few). The cherry on the cake wasn’t them getting mad at my dad for opening my moms mouth when she was having a panic attack and couldn’t breath (as they all sat there as she could t breath my dad had to step in and then get yelled at). It was when she passed and instead of moving her roommate out who listened/watched TV 24/7 NO JOKE, so we could say our goodbyes, we had to with a TV on and a women just watching it next to us. When I asked for privacy they told me they could not ask the roommate to leave. They couldn’t move her or my mom to another room. It was the worst experience of my life. The same CNA who told me that, said have a good day on his way out that day to me. Are you kidding me? I could go on but what’s the point. These reviews on here are fake. Tour the place. You will see. Even the nurses would come to us to complain about their co workers and talk about each other behind their backs. THATS WHO IS TAKING CARE OF YOUR FAMILY! This place is run by CNAs not actual nurses with medical skills and some front desk people. Doctors rarely show up and when they do it’s so fast and so uncaring. They just want to drug people and hope they die fast to make room for the next person.

Fantastic experience: The time I spent here was good. The therapy department was spectacular ✨️. Terri was always helpful and understanding of the needs I had at that time. If I need to do it again for some reason I would come back. Great staff.

Negative experience: If I could give a 0 rating I would. My Uncle has been there for over 6 weeks and has received the worse care ever. What kind of place is this, this is a place you only hear of on TV. The staff is inept, rude and disrespectful. CNA's are threatening. This place should be condemned and shut down for good. STAY AWAY for the safety, health of your loved ones. There are so many other places more reputable that you can put your loved ones care in trust.

Negative experience: I read some of these reviews and I am shocked. This place is not clean and the staff rarely seems to care. They are always short staffed and not attentive. Anytime we try to call anyone in the office we always get a voicemail and they will not return calls. We have made complaints with the state and they seem to want to help but we have not seen any changes. We all deserve to know that our loved ones are cared for. They are in this facility because of health issues and it’s hard knowing the facility doesn’t provide care the residents deserve.

Negative experience: I wish I could have given 0 stars this place is dirty ,they only give showers when they feel like it, they are always understaffed and the nurses that do show up are clueless and lie to everyone, your clothes will be lost and the food is not fit for animals.go anywhere else just please don't go there or send your love ones,the good reviews are from staff

Negative experience: Don't do it. My granny had dementia and mentioned someone was grabbing her up roughly here, when asked what the nurses name was, she couldn't tell me. So, it works out for the nurses because the patient can't remember who abused them. Half the good reviews are by people who work here, which is shameful. Either quit abusing people's family members or get a new job.

Negative experience: Most of the 5 Star reviews are from staff members and a total lie! Management here is an absolute joke! I had a family member here and they were absolutely miserable! Call lights go unanswered. They are constantly unstaffed at night and patients not being cared for hours on end. I have heard the ADON (I believe that is her title) talk down to staff. This place should be shut down. I even overheard staff members talking about falsification of documents to make it look like they had enough people to work but they didn't. The state agency really needs to look into this place.

Positive experience: One of the best options for elderly care in Pinellas county. It takes special individuals that have a lot of heart to watch over your loved ones. Not easy when your family member doesn’t want to be there and can be challenging at times, but needs the physical and mental care HarbourWood provides. It’s also hard emotionally on the loved ones that are not in need of care and not always easy to deal with as it is a hard adjustment seeing the person you love no longer at the home you built. The compassion from both management and staff is evident and far exceeds other facilities. No place is perfect, but I am confident my Mom is cared for and watched after at HarbourWood.

Negative experience: Can't give but 1 star because I have never been there, but I'm not happy that my sister isn't happy, was on the phone with her the other day and did not appreciate how she was being talked to. Nursing homes are the residents home now, not a one of you would like to be talked to or treated like most residents are being talked to and treated and should not be talked down to just because an aid or nurse has a bad day and brings it to work with them or whatever the case may be. If one chooses to take a job at a nursing facility of any kind you should show compassion at all times not treat the residents like a heard of cattle! You chose this job and should do your job with the upmost respect to everyone around you!

This was a top-notch place and they went above and beyond. Thank you so much for all the care that you gave to my adopted mom Judi. You treated her with respect. It’s a very nice and clean facility. Your staff is extremely kind. They answered her call light in a timely manner. Made sure that she had her medicine and a wheelchair waiting for her when she arrived. I work in healthcare so that’s a little unheard of. Everyone knew that she was coming and I am so very blessed that she is now living at home and doing everything on her own. Fantastic experience: We visited multiple places here in Pinellas county for the care of my mother in-law. When we found HarbourWood we knew immediately this facility was the place for her and us as well. Without hesitation I would tell anyone who has a loved one that needs the extended care to visit their facility and see that they truly care for each person in their care.

Fantastic experience: I was hired here right after graduating nursing school. I was mentored by an amazing nurse who provided a seamless transition into the nursing field. I was provided so much support and so many resources that made me feel confident in my experience here. I didn't think I wanted to work in the long term care but I've grown passionate about this setting and the residents here. Harbourwood has offered me so many opportunities for growth and my coworkers have become family!

I’ve toured it just looking around for one of my loved ones and I definitely recommend it to anyone. The staff is very kind, actually looks and acts as if they are family to the ones they are caring for. I sat down with Terri the admissions director, and she walked me through the best plans that would fit my family’s needs. I just love the attention/focus that they give to each person that walks through the door. Hands down the best spot to bring your love ones.

None are perfect or beyond improvement especially since staffing is such a challenge but this facility is better than most & has the best marketing/ admissions person (Terri) who will do whatever it takes to help potential residents and their families. She gives her cell # to anyone who asks. She will take any concerns to managment/ownership if needed. If you need skilled rehab, this is definitely a pla e to consider.

I have been in healthcare for 33 years and Harbourwood is by far the most welcoming facility I have ever been in. The staff are very caring and it shows in our residents smiles. Highly recommend for employment and for your loved ones.

Fantastic experience: Gina and Chef Steve are starting an amazing dietary program to provide delicious, eye catching meals! The lead cook Tracy provide top notch food and by far the best puree consistency for our dysphasia residents!!

The care staff really makes an effort to engage the residents/patients in all activities and including helping them in areas or things they might be new to! The management is really committed to providing a safe, fun, loving and caring environment with SO much GROWTH for residents and staff. As a newer experienced employee i have noticed the DON Jenn, makes a great effort to recognize those with a strong work ethic, uplifting positive attitude & amazing effort within the nursing staff. With that, our DON gives incredible opportunities and recognization to those who strongly deserve it! Hard work does not go unnoticed here, it is rewarded with new experiences, unlimited opportunities and education to keep you going! We are very thankful to have each and everyone of them at Harbourwood.

Fantastic experience: This facility is definitely a place that I would feel comfortable sending a loved one, and that says a lot, since my mom passed away in a facility where I feel she did not receive the quality care she needed to survive. I had the opportunity to visit during the evacuation with Hurricane Ian and I was very impressed with how this emergency transition was handled, during a very hectic time! I give five stars and will recommend this facility to anyone I know, who needs care for a loved one. Keep up the great work and THANK YOU!

Fantastic experience: I read some of the reviews and I don't know what this place was like years ago, but I had the opportunity to visit someone a few months back and I was VERY pleased and VERY impressed with the cleanliness, care, and kindness of the staff! I was not feeling well during my visit due to some stomach issues and just the care that the staff showed to me as a visitor, made me feel that this was a place where they truly about people. Way to go! Awesome job, and I would definitely refer them to family and friends.

Fantastic experience: My sister was admitted there for the rehab services after a totally unexpected hospitalization. She had never been in a nursing home and was extremely worried about being in a new environment and the thought of requiring 24 hour nursing care for an extended period of time was very hard on our family. The staff was very compassionate and made sure she had everything she needed to make provisions for her rehabilitation. My sister is a dialysis patient and they also took precautions to ensure that she continued to receive her treatments. Her nurse Riza that took care of her was really sweet and knowledgeable. The nursing managers were very involved with her care and addressed all of our families questions and concerns. I am usually not very fond of nursing homes but I did feel like my sis was in good hands. Thank you Harbourwood for helping my big sister get back to life!!!
