Negative experience: DANGEROUS-NEGLECT-DO NOT PLACE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!! Every day a different nurse - zero communication regarding patient needs - baseline etc. After 3 days my father transferred by ambulance to ICU with severe infection spontaneous bleed perhaps due to fall or being handled roughly when changing and dehydration. When I asked the nurse how he could become dehydrated in their care she denied telling me he was so dehydrated it took all morning to get an IV going just 30 minute prior on the phone and said don’t snip at me … I’ve been caring for your father all morning. The other nurse behind the curtain said “what’s with people” we can’t pour water down their throats!” Five administrators standing in the hall chatting - several ladies behind the desk and NO ONE called me when paramedics were called. While in the room with paramedics one noted he couldn’t possibly be getting any oxygen due to tangled lines in machine this bedside. Nurse management team assured me her nurse acted appropriately … and became very defensive when I asked for investigation- responded to my questions saying she didn’t wish to continue being insulted and didn’t appreciate me coming after her nurse. I assured her I’m coming after her and entire facility.

Fantastic experience: This was a wonderful experience during my stay except I was so cold. AC/Heat evidently wasn't working right. My nurses, doctors, technicians, everyone gave me excellent care. My rehab techs were so patient and caring. I can't say enough good about them except they were wonderful.

Fantastic experience: All aspects of my stay and treatment at Encompass was exceptional. All staff worked as a team to provide care and treatment. The facility itself was well maintained. The quality and presentation of food was far better than is normal in a hospital environment. I will 100 percent recommend this facility to friends and family. Fantastic experience: I went to Encompass one of the best experiences in my life. Staff are awesome, food is great, medication on time, Physical therapists second to none, I also learned a great deal about the medical field while I was there. Everyone was so nice and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I came to Encompass following a long journey of hip dislocations, revisions great home health experiences & out patient therapy. ENCOMPASS was the icing on the cake. The therapy department of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech and language is exemplary. The nursing staff were all so very punctual to your needs and again took an invested interest in your care. I would highly recommend Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Largo, Florida

Fantastic experience: Without a doubt, the best rehabilitation company in the nation and this i can report this specific one is outstanding after treating and total rehabilitation of my 93 yo mother who broke her neck. She is back to full independence with a walker and loving life. Staff her is friendly at all encounters, and rehab staff is caring and considerate, but they do make the patient work very hard to get well. Medical and clinical staff are always available to family members to get updates on loved ones. I wholeheartedly recommend this facility for all rehabilitation needs. And BTW, I have been on the business side of healthcare for over 32 years in hospitals and working for Blue Cross of Texas and this is how we define quality care. Keep up the great work Encompass.

Fantastic experience: Encompass rehab hospital was absolutely the best. The nursing care and hospital care was as good as I could ever expect. And as good as the hospital section was... the Physical Therapy section was even better. They were very concerned about my health and safety...while pushing me to my max while doing the actual rehab. I would like to mention a couple of people who went above and beyond what was expected in rehab... Emily... even while being pregnant... was absolutely devoted to her job and her patients. Cindy was so easy to connect with... and she motivated me to places I didn't even know that I could get to. Ian was such a hard worker... while also exhibiting a great caring attitude that was deeply appreciated. The whole staff was excellent but these individuals stood out to me. Her Hip class helped us understand moms condition. Nurse Cheryl was so compassionate & helpful during her stay. Encompass rates 10 out of 10 from our family. So many of your staff provided exceptional care like Eli, Ian, Veronica, Pat, Shayla ,Kekee , Brad and so many more that were on my sisters shift that I haven’t mentioned . Fantastic experience: I was in a terrible motorcycle accident and ended up here after being in the icu/hospital for 2 weeks. Being 29 I’m one of the youngest patients but that did not matter at all. Every employee in this entire facility has treated me with so much compassion and respect. I would love to stay here for much longer but sadly my insurance doesn’t feel the same way. I recommend this place to anyone that is able to get in here. The care is top notch and I really appreciate everyone who helped me.

Negative experience: Stay away from this facility! They care more about their profit than the patients. I made a mistake and took my husband there, they almost killed him. The nurses are clueless about his meds, are inexperienced, and are irresponsible. One time we had to take him to a doctor visit outside of the facility, they let him sit in the wheelchair in the heat of the afternoon sun for 2 hours regardless of my numerous phone calls requesting for a pickup! When his health conditions got worse, we requested for an ambulance to transfer him to ER at St. Anthony, they refused. Until I threatened them with a lawsuit should something bad happen to my husband, they gave in and called the ambulance. Yet, when the ambulance came, they still tried to persuade my husband into staying at their facility. If he did, he would've been dead by now! Unbelievable! If you value the life and health of your loved one, stay clear from this horrible Encompass. Instead, take your loved one to Bay Front Rehab. They're the best and got my husband back on his feet in 3 weeks.

Fantastic experience: Sorry , Jewel could not remember all the names of the staff persons , Cindy , Mia , Rod were only three but the staff and Therapist were so tremendously helpful , Kind and motivating !! They should all get a raise ! It is THE PLACE for Therapy ! The only complaint ge had was about the food service....cold food at times and Not getting everything on his tray that was ordered.. like nothing to drink or short portions and having no one available to correct those problems. But the food tasted really good. Also it was not passed on to me when I picked him up for discharge that there was Prescription medication changes on dosages. That would not stop me for using your Facility again ,but something to be addressed.Thank You All , Wilma and Jewel Murphy

Fantastic experience: Encompass was truly an amazing place. My grandma went in after having 2 hospital stays and barely mobile. After being at Encompass for 11 days she is out and doing way better. The staff were all extremely kind to not only to my grandma but also our family. After researching a lot of places this is the one home health suggested and I couldn't be happier with the choice. Everyday that we visited my grandma would tell us how kind everyone had been to her. Thank you Encompass for all that you do for people. Your facility and staff have super succeeded my expectations and I couldn't thank you enough for the care and kindness that was given to my favorite person in the world.

Positive experience: After fairly complicated back surgery during which I suffered a stroke, followed by s cleaning of one side of my carotid artery, I was in need of some top flight rehab. And I received it from Encompass. The technicians, the doctors and nurses turned out to be capable, trained and motivated professionals, and I appreciate Encompass’s efforts to get me back on the road to recovery. I would recommend Encompass to those seeking rehab care.

Negative experience: This place was horrible I went to hospital several time and ended up with an infection that basically almost killed me there were 2 men there to help but that’s about it also I felt like I was in prison for 6 months a unbelievable

Fantastic experience: Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital is sent from heaven! The entire team is wonderful, caring, empathetic, compassionate. My husband was there for 2 1/2 weeks and they performed miracles with getting him walking and a one person assist after a horrific accident from a traumatic brain injury six months ago. They went above & beyond in every way to ensure his safety, nutrition, entire rehabilitation journey, the special team of physicians, nurses, therapists, CNA’s, dietary and environmental services all worked in unison for wonderful outcomes for my husband and all that have the blessing of going to such a beautiful place. It’s with heartfelt thanks and praise to everyone who worked tirelessly to help those in need. Peace and blessings dear Encompass family for all your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence and success of all.

Positive experience: My mom was here for two weeks. The staff from nurses, doctors and speech, physical and occupational therapists were hands down the best! They were comforting, caring and professional. I knew that when I went home at night my mom would be well cared for and that peace of mind alone is worth everything. I thank all of the staff for all you did for my mom in helping her recover and showing that you cared. **the only reason I have given this rehab four stars is the food. They gave a menu for the patients to circle what they would like each day and we were always missing things. The food itself was ok at times, but definitely not consistent.

Negative experience: Too big to get attention for a sick person Used to be great, seems to have slipped.

Negative experience: Take your loved ones somewhere else! My mother went in for rehab after surgery and she died of a UTI, dehydration and anorexia! The horrible place was on lockdown so we couldn't get in to see her. We couldn't even get people to transfer a phone call to her. Come to find out she was dying a week after she signed herself in. Everyone there kept saying they didn't know what was wrong with her. They sent us a picture of her with her glasses on just before she died like she'd been reading a book or something. They couldn't answer us the last time she had eaten or was awake in the two weeks she was there. We kept begging them to take tests but they weren't equipped for tests and wouldn't take her to the hospital because of COVID. As they were wheeling her out they were saying we don't know what happened. The emergency room doctor was not surprised and sees many of these same scenarios from encompass. I tried to get a lawyer to close the place down but they wouldn't take her case because Mom only got a social security check and her case was not financially worth that to him and his partners.

Fantastic experience: I never thought my dad would make it home. With the care, compassion and personalized care, he did. At 91 I never thought this would happen. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: If I could, I would give them 10 stars! Their staff is excellent with trying to help their patients, while also trying to help the families of the patients. They were very knowledgeable in answering my questions and my family member, who was there, said the food was excellent. In my opinion, it's a difficult and challenging field to be in, but this facility did an excellent job of navigating the challenges. It might feel like a thankless job, but you are appreciated for everything you did to make a difference with helping my family member. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: This rehab hospital is excellent. All of the therapists (speech, occupational and physical)were top notch. The nurses and doctors were great too. The nurse techs were very attentive as well. My dad suffered a brain injury from a fall and they got him up and functioning well in two weeks. They came to house to ensure he moves around well and helped us get the equipment we needed. The case worker was excellent too.

Fantastic experience: I never knew there was an acute rehab until Mortan Plant Hospital recommended I be sent there. I would give more than 5 stars for this facility due to the staff!!! I will begin with my case manager Ekaterina who help me and my health care surrogate through the entire process, guiding us through our entire time at Encompass. The nurses, Kelly and Mary were exceptional, but we can’t leave out Cheryl, Stacy and Riley. As we all know, nurse tech’s have it difficult job. Bella and Patrick were phenomenal, along with Mia, Dana and Day. With this facilities focus on rehab it is always hopping. Transporters to therapies, those not quite a therapist but working toward that goal, did not go unnoticed. We have Rodney, Jay, Eli and Heather. The kindness, caring and empathy was shown daily. As for therapists, I can’t thank Oscar in Pt enough for pushing me to do what he knew I could do and making me proud of myself for a change. I also need to thank Lisa!! This goes for Nichole and Jeannette in Occupational Therapy making sure my therapies aligned with my personal goals, but we can’t leave out page and Heather. Now you would think that’s all, but we had that fabulous Tina in speech who was so calm and caring and focused on my memory and vision. Those that did not go unnoticed and deserved to be recognized are Scott, our respiratory therapist, Nichole in quality control and as we all know, saving the best for last, Janay in the cafeteria. Janay went above and beyond to ensure my meals were the things I liked and enough for me. We have very enjoyable conversations when she stopped in each day to ensure everything was going OK and I was getting what I had asked for. I know I missed a few names, but I know how blessed I was to be sent there in my time of need!! THANK YOU All!!!

Negative experience: I made the decision to go to Encompass after having my left leg amputated above the knee. I had been fighting a serious infection for several years and had no strength and issues with mobility and everyday tasks. They had a wonderful experienced staff who would help you with anything. I don't want to write a book so let me say that everything was going well. I was learning how to move and getting stronger everyday. Then it happened, my amputated leg started to hurt, and hurt until I was in unbearable pain. I was crying and begging for pain meds and I got Tylenol. Getting pain meds was a problem the entire time I was there. I can't remember the doctor but he knows who he is. He is a complete D--K. I spent over two hours crying for help and nobody answered. My parents were visiting so they were angry and upset. Finally I told them I needed EMS and they even refused to do that at first. Over 3 hours in the worst pain imaginable when someone finally got EMS to transport me. They called the hospital immediately the next day to demand I was sent back to Encompass. You think it's better than other places, guess what it's all about money. I needed emergency surgery to remove a massive hematoma and they just wanted me back immediately. They're greedy as#&%/÷s

Fantastic experience: Fantastic! I arrived with 2 fractures in pelvis and one shoulder both on the left side. I couldn't walk as I couldn't even use a walker. I left two weeks later able to walk with a cane! The therapists pushed me often beyond my comfort, but they were always compassionate, explaining the whys and the whats!

Negative experience: We had a horrible experience at Encimpass. Our mother entered the facility with Covid and c.diff. They told us she was over both, removed her from isolation and put her in with a roommate. They then told us she was ready to come home. It turns out they had not tested to ensure that she was better. The day before our beloved mother was scheduled to come home, I arrived to visit and could immediately tell something was wrong. I requested help from the head nurse and they downplayed my concerns,even after they were unable to take her blood pressure. I kept asking them to call ER and they said they wanted to get IV in. They were then unable to get IV in and said she was dehydrated - all while in their care. They finally called ambulance (two hours after alerting them and after many requests). By the time they got mom to the hospital, she was non-responsive and had to be intubated. She was septic and her blood pressure was extremely low, which is why it had not registered. They were able to sustain her bp overnight and then let us know there was no hope. She passed away the next morning, the day Encompass told us she was coming home. we were shocked and

Fantastic experience: Absolutely the best in care!! When you think of Rehab facilities, Encompass of Largo goes above and beyond the quality of care! They are taking excellent care of my very close friend and are by far most professional, kind, caring and very friendly staff that we have been blessed with! I don't have to worry about his well being while he is here. Thank you to everyone at Encompass for all you do!!

Fantastic experience: My father has stayed at Encompass two times now due to a traumatic brain injury he received from a fall. I have been with him for speech therapy visits, physical therapy visits and nursing care. The staff is absolutely amazing and provide personalized and thoughtful care. If I could give them 6 stars I would!

Fantastic experience: I did out patient rehab at Encompass, which was Health South, 20 years ago after surviving a plane crash. They helped me fully recover. I then brought nursing students to the facility for several years while working as a nursing professor. I currently have my 89 year old mother here as a patient. She is receiving excellent therapy and care. Everyone is focused on helping her reach her fullest potential. I highly recommend this acute rehab facility, where nurse ratios are 6:1 compared to sub acute or skilled nursing facilities where ratios are 20:1. They also accept Medicare. Check them out.

Fantastic experience: First off, the wonderful therapists: Danielle, Anna, and Heather in O.T.; Cyndi, Oscar, Emily, Puja, Andrew, Matt, and others in P.T.; Wonderful Nursing staff: Katie (RN,) Jenny, Katie (Tech,) Kelly, Daymara, Eileen, the pretty blonde nurse whose name I can’t remember (she was from Maine,) the pretty black RN with dreads,) and others. The wonderful Dialysis nurses: Jackie and Michelle, along with Dialysis mascot, Mr. Weber ;-) Wonderful Respiratory therapists: Scott, the sweet female who covered for Scott in the daytime (a name I also cannot remember!) and other staff. Case Management: Danielle Hudson was superb! Thank you for everything. The entire experience was amazing, so “swift” - 2 weeks flew by so quickly, and I was back to myself in no time. I know I have forgotten to mention a few of the people who touched my life during my Encompass stay, but I regret I could not remember every name. This was the “best” hospital visit I’ve ever had, and I would choose your company again! My only complaint would be that your facility needs to be Private Rooms only. It was hard to deal with an unmotivated, non-compliant roommate who slept all day and who refused to go to therapy most of the time. I had to hold my tongue in order to deal with this person. A private room would have been nice indeed.

Fantastic experience: After a fall that left my 82 year old father with a broken back and left hip, we feared the worst. After extensive surgery and a week in the hospital he transferred to Palm Gardens in Clearwater ( I tell you the name so that you can avoid it at all costs if you love your family member) 3 weeks in, he lost all ability to walk, was lethargic, bladder infection and pneumonia! Back to thehospital for 10 days. It was then that we had heard of Encompass rehabilitation hospital and although it was far we wanted what was best for our dad. The Best was right!!! Within 1 week he was taking steps, getting stronger, happy, and motivated. The staff, from nurses and CNAs to the entire Therapy personnel were AMAZING! They worked hard and were so attentive to all of my dad's needs. They truly care about their patients and do all possible to get them well enough to go home. Thank you is not enough and we are so grateful!!!

Negative experience: All talk, another bad case of nepotism. Sad! Rot in H***! The kitchen staff.

Negative experience: Everyone's heard it only takes one bad apple to ruin the cart. When management doesn't take initiative to make things right with their responsibilities there's a problem. Friday my mother checked in Encompass and I left a new tablet, cover and pen. She loves to play games and it's an excellent exercise for the mind. Friday night prior to leaving I took a picture of it just in case something may have happened to it. Sunday it was MIA, and no one has any idea as to its location. I didn't cause a scene mgt should have taken care of the internal issues. Not the case they can really care less. I will no longer allow my mother go into a rehab facility with this kind of activities. Walk off with a patient personal property is a problem. Management Ignorance to take responsibility is troubling.

Fantastic experience: I recently had a stroke and we chose to place me in Encompass Health rehabilitation based on reviews and the recommendation of several nurses we had known. Quite honestly I did not want to go to a rehab facility. What a rediculous thought!! What an EXCELLENT choice! First, the hospital portion is very clean, rooms are shared but are quite large and is staffed with professional,courteous,engaging,knowledgeable, and caring indiduals from CNA level to nurse level. These individuals helped make my stay as good as it could be. The rehabilitation staff were wonderful,caring and obviously knowledgeable professionals who pushed/ encouraged me to achieve a status which would meet the standards for discharge. I cant thank them enough for how they helped me to recover. They focused on my special needs. Be prepared for several hours of intensive daily rehab work but believe me it is time well spent. Thank you, thank you to these professionals! My advice is LOOK NO FURTHER, ENCOMPASS HEALTH IN LARGO, FLORIDA. IS WHERE YOU SHOULD GO IF YOU NEED REHABILITATION.

However, some are very young or still in school so they lack a certain degree of experience. The day nurses seem to really care about their patients but, the quality at night is definitely not the same. The staff is there to distribute meds. Now for things that should be corrected ASAP. - Hygiene. It is appalling that a medical facility doesn’t change the linens on a daily basis. You literally have to request this numerous times before it is done if at all. - The rooms are small and difficult to navigate with two patients assigned. The walls are scuffed, fixtures old and doors in disrepair. - The bathroom and toilets are not cleaned regularly and show it. Unacceptable. - Patients, especially the elderly are not followed up on to make sure their hair is washed, clothes changed or their teeth are brushed. With a small amount of corporate investment this could all be corrected. However Health South does not have a good reputation in this area. Instead they are content to bleed Medicare and move on. I’d like to update my review. Management at this location took my complaints very seriously and spoke to me about what could be done better and they corrected all of the previous issues. I found this extraordinary. I was impressed by this action. They also advised me they are working hard on updating other cosmetic issues at the facility. The rooms are now very clean, new curtains, bathrooms scrubbed and other patients have noticed the changes as well. Job well done and now I feel I can give this facility a higher rating. I still want to stress it was never the staff but, the condition of rooms and such. All of the Nurses, Doctors, PT/OT and techs work very hard to ensure that all patients are taken care of in a good manner.

Fantastic experience: My grandmother had a hip fracture. Had surgery. Was told that she needed rehab to get stronger. Well, so called rehab was a nursing home. After 2 months she came home with wounds and not walking. Back to the hospital for more surgery. Again they are recommending rehab. No way in hell. But now they tell us about ENCOMPASS Health. Why didn't they tells us 2 months ago. She is thriving, walking. Staff is amazing. Her physician Dr. Webb became family. And her therapist Andrew was amazing.

The rooms are now very clean, new curtains, bathrooms scrubbed and other patients have noticed the changes as well. Job well done and now I feel I can give this facility a higher rating. I still want to stress it was never the staff but, the condition of rooms and such. All of the Nurses, Doctors, PT/OT and techs work very hard to ensure that all patients are taken care of in a good manner.

Fantastic experience: I had a brain tumor that was removed. I was sent to encompass by MPH. PT and OT staff were awesome. Austin really helped me. Andrew as well. Awesome PT and OT staff: Carol braided my hair. Cosesste in OT was great as well. Most of the nurses were also great. And the doctors, especially Dr. Yes. Really thankful. I was unaware of the need for the therapy when I was sent there and just wanted to go home. I'm not the best patient (social worker). I think that had the hospital explained better to me the reasons why I needed to go to rehab, it would not have been so hard. Plus I came on a weekend. One thing I will say that may need improvement is showers are essential,and also being able to get up in the night to go to the bathroom may need some work. Thank you for your care! Fantastic experience: After my Total Knee Replacement, Encompass Health sent Dulce Forrest to my home for 5 In Home sessions. Dulce was EXCELLENT. Always on time, answered all my questions, Informative, Professional Kind, Compassionate, and showed me the correct way to walk, w/ walker and cane and enter the shower and how to put on my shoes and socks easier. I've had therapists in the past: carpal tunnel, broken ankle, broken shoulder & frozen shoulder, but she was by far the best!! If you need In Home Therapy, I hope you get her as your physical therapist! If her boss reads this, please give her a nice raise ...$$$$$.....A++++++

Negative experience: So far my husband's chest pain and overall pain has been dismissed. The rounding doctor told him he has indigestion. His right leg is 3x the size of the left. Noone will tell me his meds or whether or not he is getting his water pill rwice a day like he's supposed to be getting. Not happy at all. I feel a need to teport facility to JACHO AND ACHA. wouldn't be the first time I turned in a facility for lousy care.

They seem attentive to her needs, and have been reassuring to us, as this has been a very difficult and trying time for our family. Positive experience: I'm 32 years old but unfortunately I'm currently suffering from a debilitating flare up of autoimmune arthritis. I arrived here from a 5-day stay in a hospital on Thursday, 3 September. I had a very rough start. I had asked for a private room, but there were none available, and my roommate was on an assisted breathing device that was extremely loud, making it hard to fall asleep even with earplugs. There was also a communication breakdown between the hospital and this facility; I had been taking an IV painkiller that they weren't set up to deliver here. So when I woke up in the middle of the night in excruciating pain, and one of my pain pills did nothing and I needed the IV meds, the only thing the nurse here could offer me was ice, which was no help at all. I had also made it known I needed a walker to get around, and I was under the impression there would be one I could use upon arrival, but for reasons I still don't fully understand, they couldn't let me use one until I was evaluated the next day. Which wouldn't have been such a big deal, except that when I needed to get up (to go to the bathroom, etc,) the night nurse always seemed too busy to help me, so I was left to try to hobble around on my own with no assistance at all. I brought up these points to the lead nurse on duty that night (Edna) and honestly felt brushed off, and got the impression she didn't really care about me personally, but just was trying to make sure I didn't leave so they wouldn't lose my insurance money. That first night and the morning were awful. However, after complaining to everyone I could think of, things did start to get better and most of the issues were resolved by the next day. They got me a different roommate, a more comfortable bed, worked out better pain meds, and the nurses were now much more attentive and came quickly if I pressed the call button. Later in the day I did get the evaluations from physical and occupational therapy, and they got me the walker I needed and a wheelchair. My third night sleeping here I got a full night's sleep, my first two I only got 3-4 each night due to the above and a few other factors that got resolved. I've now done two OT and two PT sessions, and the therapists have all been wonderful. I've had a lot of attention from many different people, and besides the nurses from my first night, the rest of the staff have all seemed genuinely caring, helpful and professional. One other bad point though is that the doctor is supposed to see you every day. I think I've only seen him one day, although I've been here 4 days 3 nights now. Maybe he's come by while I was in therapy, I don't know. The decor of the hospital is a bit depressing. The food is adequate and some of it is tasty -- other stuff, not so much. There are some fresh salads but the rest of the fruit and vegetables are mostly canned or frozen, even when they say "fresh fruit" is really unfrozen fruit. I had "salmon" one night that definitely wasn't actually salmon but some other kind of low-quality fish. Other meals have been better. Overall though, if it weren't for my first night being so terrible, I would have been much happier with my experience here. So I would recommend this place now, but if you're coming yourself or helping a loved one who is here, these are points to keep in mind to make sure the first night and any transitions are smooth.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend. Vanessa and Beverly are the most caring people. Encompass is so lucky to have such compassionate people working for them. They really care about the patients health and well being. Every place would be blessed to have employees like that.

Fantastic experience: Very wonderful staff and the rehab facility the gym is beautiful. All the therapists are very friendly and very knowledgeable. The nurses are also very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this facility.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful place,excellent staff. April saved my mom's life while she was in their care. She recognized the symptoms of pulmonary embolisms just by looking at my mom and sent her to hospital stat. They told us she would not have made it had she been 10 more minutes. Can never express my gratitude to their wonderful caring staff.

Fantastic experience: My father was at EHR for just about three weeks. The intensive therapy was amazing. They got him up, walking with a walker and transferring on his own so that he could come home. Thank you and forever grateful!!

Negative experience: I was never inform about the introduction class or discharge class. I never had family therapy with my husband. My husband was the patient.He had to wait a long time for assistant. When it come time for discharge because his humana caseworker told encompass that they would paid for 10 days. The Encompass caseworker arrange transportation for him to come home because I do not drive a car. The caseworker told me she was going to take of it. There was a lot of confusion and I end up with two different ciompany want to pick up my husband. I end upwith care ride and personal had to pay for it. After the caseworker said she would take care of it. I was promise that I would get reimbursed for my husband ride home and the hanger but never received the reimbursed.

Negative experience: My mom was there and supposed to be there for 2 weeks at least after a second back surgery. The rehab personnel was amazing but the the case workers and nurses were so unprofessional and not personable at all. The case worker would not let my mom nor my sister even talk. The case worker wanted to discharge her after a couple days and still ended up discharging her after 4 days. 4 days after back surgery. A full back cage surgery. The case worker said the dr wanted her discharged but found out it was not true. They messed up her medication. Put her on patches that she can not be on. Gave her generic alieve instead of her prescraibed pain meds. There service was awful and I would not recommend your enemy to go here unless it is to work with rehab and leave!!!

Fantastic experience: I was very nervous about my grandma's Rehab after hip surgery because I am out of state and couldn't be there everyday for her. I'm a nurse in a rehab facility and know the ins and outs so to not be there for her was hard for me. The staff was amazing to my grandma, they would call me back and always addressed any concerns I had .my grandma couldn't stop speaking about how amazing everyone was from nursing to therapy and their state of the art equipment. I could not have been more happy with her care and results. THANK YOU ALL!!! I will definitely recommend this facility for rehab!

Negative experience: The only reason I’m giving this place any stars is because the therapy is wonderful! The therapists truly care about the patients, Amanda is by far the best, she is a truly caring and wonderful person. The Nurse Spindora should be in charge of that place!! She is an excellent nurse and very good at her job!!! Those are basically the only good things I can say. It’s essentially a nursing home trying to pose as a hospital facility. They would leave my father in the same clothes for days. They wouldn’t put his dentures in before meals or take them out at night, never mind clean him or brush his teeth. I had to number his underwear so I could actually see if they were changing them. They left the bed linen on for days, I had to repeatedly ask for the sheets to be changed. One day when I asked they told me the sheets didn’t get changed because they didn’t have any clean sheets. I have no idea how a real hospital could function that way!! I made so many requests for basic hygiene habits and they did not get done. There were bugs all over the sink, an Ensure spilled and the floor was not mopped for days. My father had a stroke their policy is to never leave a stroke patient alone in the bathroom, which they did (a tech name Britt disappeared for nearly 10 minutes while he left my father unattended on the toilet.) and of course my father fell. I asked multiple times why his urine was so dark and the insisted he was fine, he ended up in the ER nearly septic with a fever and severe urinary tract infection. This place is awful. When we tried to take my father out of here they tried to prevent him from going. This place is a corporation not a hospital. They do not care about hygiene or the well being of the patients. This place was supposedly the best place in the area and it is extremely subpar. The management of Helath South needs to research how a real hospital is run. If this is your only option, know your family member will get pretty good therapy but know that I had to stay there all day into the evening to make sure he was cared for at all. The staff is overworked, the patient to nurse ratio is insane, 9 patients to 1 nurse. There is no way anyone could keep up with that many patients with physical and mental disabilities.

Fantastic experience: This is my second time here on 2 months Both times I have had been here because of back surgeries. Everyone here from Dr's, Nurses, Ot, Pt's Techs and all others here are just wonderful and caring to myself and all other patients. They never talk and about the patients, They work with the patients very closely and are encouraging to help get them on to the next step of recovering. I would recommend Health South Largo to anyone who need rehab. Keep up the good work everyone you rock!!

Negative experience: It is hands down the worst rehab facilities in the area. We were chastised by the physical therapy Dr. that "the patient was 723 minutes behind in thearpy". My response to the minute mans absurd and flagrant disregard for the health and wellness of the patient was" This is not club med nor are we on vacation." Medical issues due in part to the ineptness of the Nurses. The majority of the Nurses on his case were so cluless his meds were given incorrectly. Several of the Nurses could hardly speak English let alone understand it. Hell would have to freeze over before I would ever give them another chance at somebody we cared for!!!

Negative experience: They discharged my grandmother and she fell getting out of the car. Why would you discharge someone in such bad health? This is an obvious need for skilled nursing ... heartless

Fantastic experience: Im beyond satisfied with Health South., and highly recommended. My mom has been here for approximately 2 weeks due to a brokenhip and she is also a dialysis patient. The staff has gone above and beyond to give my mom the best treatment I've ever seen they're friendly loving and amazing and they truly care about their patients..The facility is very clean as well. Fantastic experience: I've never met a more caring group of people in my life! My mother was here for 21 days, and my sister and I stayed with her for 12 hours a day, attending all of her therapy sessions, so we feel qualified to comment on what we observed daily. The staff, from the doctors, nurses, therapists, case managers,techs, housekeeping, transporters, and food services, never uttered a curt word. They were all encouraging, positive, and helpful. They felt more like a family. And the results we saw not only in our mom but in the fellow patients amazed us. We couldn't have been in a better setting!
