Fantastic experience: My family member stayed at westchester on two separate occasions. Originally for rehab and then for long term care. The facility is extremely clean and the staff is excellent. Between both visits totaled about 14 weeks. Brian the LPN on staff was excellent. I got more medical information from him then the physicians at the hospital. The cnas were also great Juana and Brianna in specifically. It was also difficult since my family member refused to eat or drink. Over time they were able to reverse this and he actually put on weight. I would highly recommend this facility for both rehab and long term care.

Fantastic experience: My real name is Brian Leibach. I am writing this review based on OUR experience at Westchester. Specifically, Kevin (Director of Nursing), Travis (Executive Director), Juanita, Shannon, Nada, ALL of the front desk staff (Brenda), and numerous others who helped my Mother recuperate during a difficult health scare......my family thanks all of you. Westchester employs professional and caring team members dedicated to quality rehabilitation. Without their knowledge and compassion, my Mother would never have recuperated as quickly nor as successfully. My family thanks ALL OF YOU.

Fantastic experience: The care is excellent! Candy, Emma, Terry, and Clarissa are so caring, so comforting to know our loved one has the very best care. Nadia the nurse manager welcomed us. Physical therapy is amazing..the staff really cares and we commend them all.

Fantastic experience: My mom has been at Westchester Gardens for almost 3 years now. The staff are very kind and caring. The nurses are helpful and knowledgeable. They all do a fantastic job and they do it with a smile. The assistant nurse manager Chris is fantastic, always helpful and has been a great friend and advocate to my mom. Nurse Brian is on top of things and cares for my mom as if she were his own. Nursing assistant Jeanie works hard to address needs of her residents, always looking for ways to improve their quality of life. The social worker Nina is very helpful and works hard to maintain a positive environment for all. The Administrator, Travis, has made some positive improvements over the past year. You can see Travis interacting with staff and holding the door open for visitors. His door is typically open and he’s very approachable. It’s difficult to place family members into someone else’s care and no facility is going to be perfect in every way, but when it comes to things that really matter, the caring, compassion and kindness, Westchester gets an A++ from me. Thank you to everyone from the secretary to the kitchen staff and everyone in between.

Positive experience: I work for a patient and stay with her all day. I play music Frank Sinatra and Dawn Martin. You need to get the music channel on the tv. It is so soothing to listen to music.

Fantastic experience: Lovely, caring and responsive staff. My loved one has been in a few of these facilities. This one is top shelf!

Positive experience: Staff was OK and facility clean for the most part. Unfortunately, “lost” a blanket there that cannot be replaced. Don’t really know how some of my mom’s things just got “lost.” If there is ever a next time, I’ll make sure to not let laundry be done there and take it home to do it.

Fantastic experience: Friendly, pleasant staff, So far my friend who I visit often has a clean room and is well cared for! I thank God for a place like this for the elderly/infirm people where they are cared for as I wold like to be cared for if I ever need a place like this!!!

Negative experience: The place is severely lacking in cleanliness and staff. I'm honestly worried about my mother's health and care or lack of. We are looking into another place for her rehabilitation.

Fantastic experience: My dad is currently a patient at Westchester Gardens and everyone has been so kind and caring towards him. He has a lot of needs right now and all the nurses and CNAs are well equipped for handling those needs.The PTs, OTs and Speech Therapists are top notch! Huge thanks to Alec for going the extra mile and taking initiative in caring for my dad. His calm deamoner and kindness to my dad means everything. Also thanks to Tina & Gina who have been extremely helpful to my dad and a huge comfort to me!

Fantastic experience: Love this place, when I first walk in I was so impressed place was immaculate smelled wonderful. Staff treated you like family from the very beginning. I would personally like to think Shannon, Nina and Tom all the aids that is taken care of my husband!

Fantastic experience: Westchester gardens rehab has a great Physical therapy/ occupational therapy staff. Nursing staff and housekeeping are friendly and accommodating.

Fantastic experience: Westchester Gardens is an exceptional facility. Earl and Barbara from the 500 Hall are outstanding! They are both very compassionate and caring. They excel in their professions. We are so lucky to have them as part of our family member's team!

Fantastic experience: My partner has been there for a month with a broken ankle. We love the nurses-Kardi, Glency and Alex- and appreciate their level of care they give him. The CNAs-Juana, Lucilla, Stacy, to name a few- are also very dedicated and caring. We had several other choices of rehab centers but we are very glad we chose Westchester. Their PT and OT people have helped Lee to progress at a good pace and encourage him to do as much as he can. We are very happy with his progress.

Fantastic experience: I have been a nurse for 10 years, I have only been a month and frankly I love the place, the service offered to patients is very good thanks to the administration, the nurses are very professional and know what they do, the CNAs are always looking forward to offering the best care to the patient. It really has been one of the best opportunities they have offered me. I feel super happy and calm doing what I like and, above all, whenever I have a question or doubt, they very kindly help me. They always value one's work and motivate one, thank you Westchester Garden for allowing me to be part of you and offer the best of my knowledge to provide the best patient care.

Positive experience: My dad has has had the misfortune of required stays at 3 rehab facilities in the past couple years (all of which were less than sub par), so when we learned he would require another rehab stay, we were crestfallen and VERY anxious. Luckily, he was able to get a bed in Westchester Gardens…wow, what a pleasant surprise!! Gina, our intake nurse, could not have been more lovely and personable, she connected with my father immediately with humor and compassion, which eased his anxiety and reassured my mother and I that he was in the right place. Literally every encounter with each of the staff has been a pleasure. We leave every evening knowing dad is in good hands and that is invaluable to us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much to all for the wonderful care shown to our North Star…a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather.

Fantastic experience: Recently, my Mother suffered a broken hip and went to Westchester Gardens Rehab (WCG) after her surgery. She had great nursing care from Thomas and Thomas, as well as her aid, Carlos. Although the therapy was difficult, especially at 96 yo, the various programs were really helping! Unfortunately, my Mother experienced massive respiratory distress the day after Christmas. Thanks to the head of Nursing, Kevin’s, quick actions, my Mom survived. After 10 days in the hospital, she went back to WCG. The Executive Director, Travis, was instrumental in making certain that all went smoothly upon my Mom’s return! Thanks to the personalized attention and care from the entire staff, she was able to go home after 4 weeks. We are so grateful to Candy, her head nurse, and fill-in nurses, Earl and Lauren. We also appreciated the hands-on care and aid provided by Rufina, Barbie and others. All of the therapists were wonderful too, especially Frances, Manny and Cliff (?). And our greeters, Margie and Brenda were there to help and lend an ear when needed. Very kind and thoughtful! We also were thankful for the great cooperation of the manager of the kitchen! I apologize I never got her name! But she was a lifesaver many days! Thank you! And Maggie, the Social Services Director, took great care to make certain that my Mom’s transition home went smoothly. The key to making the time in any Rehab a success is ongoing and open communications with everyone that is a part of the facility. We found everyone on staff to be quite receptive and helpful. Fantastic experience: After my grandmother fell and broke her leg, there was no question where she would go based on its excellent reputation - Westchester Gardens. She is now a permanent resident and has been there eight months. It was the best decision we have ever made. The confidence we have in the individuals taking care of her, the total compassion everyone shows, the patience they have answering our many questions is unparalleled. Rufina, Claudia, Chris, Brian, Vanessa, Travis, Brenda, Liz, Nada, Crystal, Dana, Tamara, Stacey, Andrew, Janet, arl, Margie and so many others have all greatly contributed to her well being. Travis is a leader and in all the time I have spent there, he is not only kind to families and residents, he cares about his team. That warmness permeates throughout the Westchester Gardens community. Thank you everybody for all you do.

Fantastic experience: Travis the administrator has done a phenomenal job with new staff and making patient care the utmost priority. I would highly recommend Westchester to anyone needing rehabilitation or long term care.

Fantastic experience: My wife of 51 years entered Westchester Gardens early February 2024. I visited 4 facilities before she was moved from the hospital, and I felt that Westchester Gardens was best. After 5 weeks she is still working thru rehab from a broken hip, and I could not be happier with the care and therapy that she is receiving. All the staff has been fantastic. As my wife currently cannot walk, the staff go the extra mile to ensure that my wife is clean and ready for therapy. The facility itself is kept very clean and it is well maintained. When my wife needs to see her hip surgeon they make the appointment, arrange wheelchair transport, and provide x-rays and needed paperwork. That type of service takes a lot of stress off me. I am there twice a day and have never seen or had an issue. I expect that my wife will be needing long term care, and when that time comes it is my intention to keep her at Westchester Gardens.

Fantastic experience: My sister broke her leg and arm and is having extended stay and rehab here. The staff is very kind and in general just happy and positive. The OT and PT have helped her a lot. I would definitely recommend so far. If anything changes I will add to this.

Negative experience: Unsanitary, unprofessional, and very, very hot. Will never recommend this facility.

Negative experience: The ONLY good thing about Westchester Gardens is the location! What is wrong with people (staff) that they make you wait 30 minutes before answering a call light?! My mother (80) had a knee replacement (2nd on same knee due to a fall) and could NOT be up on her own. Several times I told the staff when she has to "go", she has to "go", or there will be an potty related accident. But apparently it fell on deaf ears! After failing to answer the call light, my mom decided to get up and go to the restroom herself. She slipped and fell on her way back to bed which resulted in yet ANOTHER TEAR (quadricep) that will require ANOTHER surgery on that knee! Thanks a lot Westchester!!!! There are other issues as well, like giving a shower and getting the dressing wet when clearly is not supposed to happen, and watching several unanswered call lights up and down the halls! Not to mention the food is terrible. I realize they are short staffed but come on, where is giving the patient some dignity! How would you like your parents to be treated like this?!!!!

Fantastic experience: From the time my mother was brought into rehab the facility was very welcoming. The staff was great and attentative. Rooms were large and spacious. There was a calendar in my mother's room of daily activities the facility had gling on and that motivated her to get up and get out. It was Christmas time and the decorations brought that Christmas feeling to the facility.

Fantastic experience: The best Skilled Nursing Facility I have ever had the pleasure working for! I am a new employee at Westchester Gardens and all I can say is WOW. I have worked at 6 Rehabilitation centers in my 12 year career and Westchester gardens is absolutely amazing. The staff is friendly, knowledgably, and treat their residents as if they were their own family. Their nursing and therapy departments are second to none. The building is beautiful, well kept, and updated with the most advanced equipment to help your loved ones get the best Rehabilitation possible to get them stronger and home safe. Please stop by and ask for a tour and see for yourself.

Fantastic experience: My 94 year old mother fell and was recommended to go to rehab by the hospital physicians. After looking at the referral list for rehab facilities, I decided on Westchester Rehab & Health Center. Our family visited the facility before my mother was discharged from the hospital. From the moment we walked in we were impressed with the greeting from the friendly front desk staff to the facility tour from the Admission Coordinator Suzie Prince. She was friendly, professional and very informative. She took the time to answer all our questions and put me at ease with all my concerns, since this was the first time my mother had ever needed any of these services. During the discharge from the hospital she assisted me with a few needs. This facility was extremely clean, no bad odors in the rehab section. My mother had a room with a view to the small pond & fountain and had her own in-room bathroom. My mom was admitted mid October, the facility was decorated nicely with fall & non/scary Halloween decor. Once November started decor was updated to fall-Thanksgiving. She was discharged from rehab on 12/5/22 and everything was already looking beautiful & festive with fully decorated Christmas trees in every waiting room, dinning room and living rooms. I say all this, because my mother loved seeing the decorations and it made it nice for the residents to be able to enjoy the different holidays. Although my mother is 94, she was active, walked everyday and lived independently on her own before the fall, but that being said, after the fall and having an incomplete fracture of one of her pelvis side, she couldn’t walk because of the pain. She entered Westchester without being able to walk and in less then two months left walking with a walker. Thanks to the great therapy received by therapist Andrew and Manny. I’m extremely grateful to the wonderful care she received from Nurse Kirk and Nurse Jonathan, CNA Marie, CNA Tracy and CNA Rufina. I’m so glad I chose this facility. It truely was a blessing to know my mother was well taken care of when I went home for the day.

Fantastic experience: My 90 year-old mother stayed at Westchester Gardens for five weeks. She suffers from heart failure and struggled walking and had to learn how to use a walker properly. The staff were attentive, empathetic and knowledgeable, helping make my mothers speedy recovery successful. She is back home living independently, which was our goal. Choosing the right type of rehab can be the key to the success in your loved ones outcome. Westchester Gardens has a staff of fully-trained professionals who can help you make the right decision for your situation. We highly recommend them! Negative experience: My mom had to come here because she feal, had to take her out st 81 they did not take care of her. After she fell nobody reported it found out she had a fractured back she got a bladder infection. Lots of bed sores just a bad place all and all the staff was horrible. Do not recommend this place at all just for your peace of mind please check the places out real good before you put family members in any facility

Fantastic experience: I wanted to let the team at Westchester Gardens know how deeply appreciative I am for all that they are doing for my mother. My mother recently fell and fractured/broke her hip. She needed to be put in a rehabilitation and care center. we where so worried about finding a good place that would care for our mother. Thank God we found Westchester Gardens. Brenda, Lynn, and Marjorie at the front desk are always polite and patient with me when I call. Susie explained everything in detail and has worked with my sister and I to answer all our questions. Susie's communication skills are phenomenal she explained everything in detail and answered all our questions. Anna has helped me schedule my first visit with my mother calling me back right after the holidays thank you so much Anna. The nurse at night Karen is OUTSTANDING when she calls to give me an update she makes me feel at ease. I appreciate her honesty and her taking the time to answer all my questions. I am grateful and appreciative to the entire staff. I highly recommend Westchester Gardens!

Negative experience: Terrible place! My grandmother is presently there and the way she has been treated is despicable in fact lets say horrifying!. She's been over medicated to the point she cant eat, drink or function on any level. This after being left for over 7 hours in excruciating pain following surgery where she was shaking it out and passing out. The CNAs who have come each day are a lot to be desired, terrible attitudes and dont even take care of her basic needs. She has been left sit with throw up on her clothes for hours as well as with soiled diapers and the CNAs act like its no big deal. They are not empathetic or compassionate. Simple things as well they dont get right for example my grandmother cannot have ice and everyday I tell the staff this because every day they put it in her water. They are rough in their handling of my grandmother for example during transfers and very abrupt grabbing the water shes drinking before shes done. The rooms are dirty as well, they dont clean them very well and I cant wait to get her out of this place. I wouldn't put my dog here let alone another human being. Unfortunately most rehabs here in Tampa/clearwater are not much better. If you put your loved one here, please visit them often, ask lots of questions, and dont just assume they are getting good care. The lady sharing her room is diabetic and they fed her a ton of pasta and stuffed pasta shells for dinner-totally wrong! Just because it looks good on the outside doesn't mean its good on the inside when it comes down to getting the care you need.

Negative experience: My Grandfather has been in this facility, transferred from the hospital, for about 24 hours, and let me just say, I would not treat MY DOG the way my Grandfather has been treated by this staff! As a patient with a stomach aneurysm, internal bleeding on the knee, and new rods in his spine, they let his pain levels get so out of control that he was vomiting on himself for hours overnight before the Nurse finally called my Grandmother to come in from HOME "to help him"!!!! They refused to give him any meds if he could not take them by mouth, and nearly refused my Grandmothers request to send him back to the ER right across the street AFTER calling her to come in from home! My Grandmother had to call 911 & my Grandfathers Doctor herself! The ER said he was clearly very dehydrated (in just 8 hours of being sent there from the hospital initailly), & inserted a pic line for medications to be given to him, instead of by mouth, got him back to acceptable levels of hydration and provided pain relief because his blood pressure was dangerously high, and then sent him back to this facility when he was stable once again. After a second trip back to West Chester Gardens my Grandfathers nurse again refused to give him pain meds thru his hospital inserted pic line and said basically if he cant keep pain meds down by mouth its not her problem, and left him, with extremely high blood pressure, and great amounts of pain, to roll around in bed for 6 hours until the next round of pain pills came his way, all the while walking by his room smiling saying its not time yet... We have taken video of my Grandfather in this condition, which he was NOT in just 72 hours ago, and plan to speak with anyone and everyone who will listen. You do NOT treat a 74 year old man, who fell at the doctors office, after having rods inserted in his spine 3 weeks ago this way!!!! You should not be treating ANYONE this way. The staff has been extremely rude, and uncaring, they have no concern for true medical issues such as an aneurysm that can rupture and kill someone simply from high blood pressure and vomiting. There is no compassion for the patients pain or past history. For 24 hours straight my family has had extreme anxiety over the treatment my Grandfather has received from this facility, and we are currently exploring options of signing him out, as he will get better care AT HOME by my sister who is a CNA and works with disabled children... Do your family member and yourself a huge favor & RUN in the opposite direction of this place. It may look beautiful as a facility, but the level of care patients receive sure does not match the decor!

Negative experience: Rehab therapy sessions are great. The nursing staff had a lot to be desired. The staff at night is horrible not enough to help patients waits are long to get assistsnce. Would not recommend this facility.

Negative experience: I recently witnessed a supervising nurse yelling at a nurse on staff as if she were a child. As a family member of one if the residents there I can't express how disgusted I am. The nursing staff has been the one constant in quality at this facility. I plan to contact corporate with my concerns. This isn't the only time I've been there and seen her behave inappropriately.

Negative experience: The weekend supervisor is terrible, you cannot talk to her very unapproachable. Don't expect to talk to the DON she always gives you attitude and never has time to amswer any questions . The CNAs are great and work very hard they are unrecognized . Nurses are good you have some lazy ones but for the most part they are good and make sure your loved one is taken care of.

Fantastic experience: Mom has been here and all I can say is the staff is excellent and very caring. Very clean, nice bright facility. We wish she could go home but since she has to stay for now, we are so happy they have room for her.
