In my 2+ years of attending workouts at Florida Physio, I have gained a lot of strength, my ability to play golf on a consistent basis and hopefully make a mark on father time. I am 71 years old and still actively play golf 2 to 3 times a week plus I have the ability to hit balls and practice on the days that I am not playing. This could have happened without my continued workouts with Florida Physio. The older you get the more physical work a person needs, whether you work with a group or one on one or hybrid classes that Florida Physio offers, you cannot go without this process. If you in your 60s headed to your 70s, the only way to sustain your energy and strength is with a solid program with Florida Physio. The staff is very professional, and very organized in their workout Plans that they devise for their clientele. If you’re undecided or not sure, make an appointment to go in to see Leighton, and his team at Florida Physio and Let them put together a plan that can put you on the road to recovery or help you sustain your physical well-being going forward. Waiting is not an option, taking action and trying to improve your health is the only way to an extended life. Leighton Peavler is my PT therapist. 16 months ago, I was not able to play golf without a lot of pain. I was referred to Leighton, and began my journey to regain my health and play pain free golf. At my age, i guess nothing is pain free anymore, but i am able to play several days in a row, with some minor soreness at the worst. With the plan that Leighton has put together for me, it has been a revelation for me. As a golfer gets older, you need a plan to stay healthy and enjoy the great game of golf. Dr I Leighton was able to identify the issue in my first session and gave me a set of exercises that eventually resolved the pain in less than 4 weeks. Fantastic experience: highly recommend Dr Don Wasoff and the entire team at FL Physio. The facility was recommended to me by a friend to improve my strength and balance after surgery. Although insurance covered the first set of sessions, I decided to continue on and self pay to continue to improve my overall strength and balance. Dr. Wasoff is probably one of the best PTs with whom I’ve worked. He works with your individual situation and individual needs. He also works holistically in looking at all aspects of health. He recommended a change in my diet to increase my protein intake, a change in my shoes to give me a more even gait, and very specific exercises to improve my strength and balance. He continuously measures my progress and then makes the needed changes in my program for continued overall improvement. I really appreciate the online app to assist in following through with the program at home. One of the best!

Fantastic experience: Leighton is excellent. I have seen him for a couple different issues. He figures out what is wrong and helps me correct it. He knows what to do to push you and get you better but not over doing it. He specifically setup the training for me. I have felt better than I have in a long time after seeing him. Seen him again for another issue that’s my fault and he has put me back on track again. Easy to to talk to and a good man. If anyone reading this has pain, mobility issue or just needs to make yourself better he is the man you want.

Fantastic experience: Florida Physio is unique in that they spend the full hour one-on-one with their client, taking a holistic approach if more than one area is of concern. I see Leighton who is bright, caring, and always coming up with new ways to challenge my multi-issue mobility problem. He's curious and thinks outside the box, digging deeper into cause/effect via a textbook or web to help solve things. Leighton identified my problem(s) and continues to give me strength-training and balance exercises as well as stretches to fix it. FP has an App with videos downloaded for you, so it's easy to go through the exercises and flossing routines at home. This is not your average therapy mill. I'm so impressed with my progress in just under ten session that I want to show my appreciation through a review. I've been walking like a champ today...it's hard to stay seated!

Dr. Peavler is a brilliant physical therapist who quickly diagnosed my issue and developed a detailed program tailored for me. Fantastic experience: I came to Leighton because I was struggling with lower back pain and it was effecting my ability to play golf. This was an issue that had gotten worse over a ten year period. Prior to this, I’d been to a Chiropracter, done dry needling, and had also worked out with three other TPI trained fitness instructors. Leighton’s ability to combine his physical therapy background with strength conditioning is really what sets him apart. I was able to get stronger, gain a better understanding of my physical limitations, and feel better before and after rounds of golf. I couldn’t speak more highly of my experience. He takes his craft serious and loves his job, which makes working out fun.

Fantastic experience: I had a rib injury that bothered me every time I swung a golf club for over a year. I went to my primary physician several times, got x-rays and she still couldn't diagnose it. Within 5 minutes of meeting with Leighton he had it diagnosed and less than 6 weeks later the rib pain was gone! I would highly recommend him to anyone I know whether they played golf or not but if you do play golf he will not only fix your body but he will fix your swing as well. I've been a patient for over a year now and in that time I've gone from injury/rehab to strength and power training using the exercises Leighton provides in his fitness app. Not only do I no longer have a rib injury I can now happily say that I can play golf pain free! He was very thorough in his initial assessment with me and he put together an excellent golf performance program for me to increase strength and mobility. Fantastic experience: Leighton brings unique capabilities to someone trying to perform at his or her optimum. Growing up as a son of a professional golfer, Leighton has honed a professional golf swing from an early age. His sub-scratch golf handicap and tournament performance is a clear testament to that. Starting with a baseline TPI assessment and a detailed discussion of one’s performance goals, Leighton formulates a plan of exercises and stretches to attain those goals. Combining his knowledge of body mechanics as a PhD physical therapist with his profound knowledge of the golf swing, he is able to assess a client’s performance limitations and work to overcome them. For example, for me he has enabled me to turn my head about 65 degrees right and left, which is a minimum angle required to maintain an eye on the ball while making a full back swing with no head movement. Before seeing Leighton, I could only turn my head about 45 degrees right and left. Since golf is a combination of instantaneous speed and power, Leighton is working with me on power moves from the ground up, so that I can increase my club-head speed. His program consists of exercises that can be performed at home or in a gym. Over the years I have visited about four different physical therapists in the St. Pete area; none is as thorough or well-versed in the physical mechanics of the golf swing as Leighton. Leighton is truly a gem!

Fantastic experience: I started seeing Leighton because of issues with my Piriformis. In the past, I had tried other avenues such as seeing a chiropractor and a massage therapist. These therapies helped, but the effects didn’t last. When I told Leighton about my issues he immediately started working on a personalized plan and within a few weeks I saw major improvements. He developed a plan that I could work on at home that was easy to do and fit into my schedule. He also has flexible scheduling for one on one sessions with him. Fantastic experience: As with most avid golfers, I'm always in search of ways to improve my game Recently, I finished Dr Leighton's golf swing speed training. He customized a plan for my strengths and weaknesses and in a few weeks my swing speed increased by just over 15 mph. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Leighton is great! I was having dizziness when laying down in certain positions. I wasn’t even sure what kind of professional to seek help from. Leighton asked me a few questions about what I was experiencing and immediately knew what it was and how to fix it. Within a few sessions of some maneuvers I was feeling much better. Fantastic experience: I'm so happy that my avid golfer husband recommended I see Dr Peavler for my hip/leg pain. Although he specializes in helping golfers perform at their peak, Dr Peavler is also an extraordinary physical therapist for pain relief and improving movement. After the initial consultation he prepares an individualized plan that also can be done on your own, thus limiting repetitive appointments and decreasing the time it takes to see results. He is always available for questions, returns calls and texts promptly and not only provides you with a written plan but also, if needed, includes videos of himself performing the various exercises so you can see and recall proper form. Making, scheduling and changing appointments is so easy through the Florida Physio website as well. He is a true professional, and is board certified. Highly recommend. Rest assured, you will be in good hands.

Fantastic experience: I came to Leighton a couple months ago with various issues with my body from playing competitive golf my whole life as I continue to pursue playing professionally. I wasn’t sure if this route was going to work because I had seen many other doctors before without much success. Initially he assessed me on the TPI scale and quickly pinpointed the areas we needed to work on as far as mobility, stability, and power. I noticed a difference in the way I felt after just one week of working with him! We have a plan moving forward that I’m confident in and I’m excited to see the results pay off. Not only is Leighton a great PT with excellent vision of where your body needs to be to perform optimally on the golf course, but also he’s a good person. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to improve their body and see the results on the course.

Fantastic experience: I had severe piriformis syndrome last fall, to the extent that any time I got up from sitting down I had such bad pain in my right buttock that I was almost in tears. Finally I sought help from Leighton. On the first appointment he evaluated me very thoroughly, assessing all my movements and identifying areas of imbalance and weakness (turns out I also had problems in my left upper arm). He was very gentle and forthright. I trusted him immediately. He sent me home with exercises to do three times a week. I did the exercises and gradually felt better. He advised me to go back to the gym, which really helped me turn the corner on my pain. I recommend Leighton with no reservations. Whatever problems you have he will help you solve.

Fantastic experience: My experience working with Leighton Peavler was terrific! I came to him at least 20 pounds overweight, with almost no upper body muscle tone and two painful shoulders. Over the course of about ten weeks (2 sessions weekly) he helped me move the weight around, restore tone and get rid of the pain in my shoulders so that I can once again swim freestyle pain-free. My clothes fit better and I feel much better overall. Leighton listens! He works WITH you to get results. He is NOT "one size fits all." I highly recommend him. (And he is a great guy.)

Leighton is patient and knowledgeable, accommodating and connects well with clients. Any time I had a physical issue he was able to relieve pain and empower me by giving me exercises to do at home. Leighton is inspiring and lifts people up by educating them and helping them believe they can heal, rather than tell them they are damaged. I am a yoga teacher and have learned so much by working along side him. He is respectful and full of wisdom. I highly recommend Leighton to anyone!
