Fantastic experience: It has now been about 11 days since my mother was transferred from her "acute care family" at Sea Pines Rehabilitation Center in Melbourne, but the memory of their loving concern and support for my moms health during her nearly 3 week week stay will last a lifetime. From my very first phone call from Janna (my mom's assigned case manager at Sea Pines for whom I will be forever grateful for), to my first visit to Sea Pines, where I was so warmly greeted and welcomed by "Karen," the receptionist who seemed to always have a handle on seamlessly managing 5 to 10 tasks at the same time, to an almost endless number of beautiful and capable people who just happened to choose a career in selfless service to others. So many nurses, doctors, CNAs, physical therapists, and a host of others too numerous to name, all came together over and over again, to keep my elderly mom on a successful journey to wellness and independence. We love you all dear Sea Pines for being there for our mom when we needed you most. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: The whole staff is really sweet and caring and takes amazing care of their patients and just overall a great place. Both my parents have been here and I have nothing but good things to say thank you for all they do

Fantastic experience: I recently broke my back and admitted to Sea Pines for inpatient rehabilitation subsequent to being released from the hospital. There are no words to describe my gratitude to Sea Pines and their team for the exceptional care they provided to me. Being someone who works in health care, I am rarely impressed by medical providers and do feel as though the system is broken. Sea Pines provided me hope that there are still clinically competent, ethnical providers in the rehabilitation space. They work from a comprehensive and collaborative perspective to treat not only the presenting issue, but the whole patient. Michael was my Occupational Therapist. When I first met him, he used appropriate self disclosure to explain to me how he got into the field and why he is so passionate about what he does. This immediately helped me to build a strong and trusting therapeutic rapport. There were times when I wanted to give up, where I was emotionality exhausted. Mike did not let me give up and encouraged me every step of the way. He pushed me to keep going when I wanted to quit, and for that I am eternally grateful. Brian was my Physical Therapist. Words can not even express the level of clinical competency, professionalism, and ethics he exhibited. Like Mike, Brian pushed me to work as hard as I could, without pushing too hard. He always kept safety and ability first, but did so in a way that encouraged me to want to push myself as able. Brian has a natural way with people to help them feel comfortable in a very difficult time. When I had my surgery, the doctors said there was a chance I could be paralyzed from the waist down. By the time I discharged, I was walking with only my brace - no walker, no wheelchair, just legs. I attribute this directly to my work with Brian and Mike. Of course I use my walker for longer distances, but I am able to walk short distances in a way they thought would take months, in only weeks. Dr. C., their infectious disease doctor, goes above and beyond for her patients. While recovering, I developed an infection, specifically MRSA. This is something that is in my medical history and that I have battled in the past. They originally wanted to use a protocol that I believed would be ineffective based on my history. When I communicated this to the nurse, Dr. C. immediately called me from home, after hours, to inquire about my perspective on my history, and what I thought may be best treatment based on that history. She actually listened to her patient, and based on my input, adjusted the treatment plan. My infection was gone within a week. Had she not done this, I do believe I would have died. Cammie, one of the nurses at Sea Pines, is tremendously caring, empathic, and compassionate. She was not even my assigned nurse, but we developed a trusting rapport and went out of her way to help me when it was not technically her responsibility. These are just a few examples of my experience with Sea Pines and there are many many more. I can not say enough good things about this facility and their staff.

Fantastic experience: Both the nurses and the therapists took good care of my 87-year-old father while he was recovering from a brain injury. They were friendly and brought his spirits up. They also displayed necessary tough love, making sure he didn't get up without help and that he understood his new limitations. The facilities were clean and pleasant. The food wasn't exciting but it was okay. My dad is now home and able to live independently. We are grateful.
