Fantastic experience: Everyone at Denton Sports and Physical Therapy is so friendly and very helpful. They have seen me through a low back surgery. I have come out on the other side much better because of them. They listen to what you want and what is needed. As I have been told more than once “You’re the boss”.

Motivating yourself to go to appointments twice a week can be a challenge but this team was so welcoming and personable they made the whole experience better. Fantastic experience: I've seen a couple reviews complaining about how it's not just a 1 on 1 appointment with a therapist the entire time. I had 15 appointments and from my experience the therapists are there to figure out what's injured, to what extent, and come up with a plan to help you make it better. They're not there to hold your hand through all of your exercises every time. That's where the PT techs come in. Half the reason for a PT appointment is to see how the plan is working and make adjustments, but the other half is to make sure you're actually doing the exercises and to use some of the equipment that you wouldn't have at home. The staff here is great. Everyone was friendly even when I was the last patient keeping them from going home at the end of the day. 10/10 would get injured again. Ok maybe not quite, but almost.

Very knowledgeable, especially with his PhD level of training. Does not push a More Is Better agenda unless it truly is! Totally professional.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience working with the Denton Sports Therapy team recovering from a strained calve muscle. I found both Ryan and Dan to be professional, encouraging, and incredibly knowledgeable. The entire team were welcoming and supportive of their clients and each other. PT is one of those things that you get out of what you put in it, so I personally appreciated the ease with which everyone communicated and made me comfortable to do the same. I hope I don't have a reason to need their services again, but would not hesitate to return or refer friends and family in need of PT.

Fantastic experience: I came to Denton Sports & Physical Therapy when the OA in my knee was giving me so much pain I could barely walk. I was given a list of local PT's from my orthopedic doctor, but I had no idea who was good or who to choose. My first experience with physical therapy was at a place that seemed to just go through the motions and didn't seem to matter if I was there or not. In contrast, Denton Sports & Physical Therapy has exceeded all my expectations (from the first appointment). The environment is professional, friendly and with your care & needs at the top of the list. They work like a family helping each other out, which not only impressed me but really made me look forward to my visits! I was impressed by all the treatments and options available here too, like Aquatic Therapy, which I started with at the beginning when my knee was very weak. My PT, Ryan, has been a godsend and I have had amazing results in the time I've been there (which was tracked through the evaluations I received). With his expertise and knowledge, I was able to get strength back in my knee without the pain I had previously. His protocol was exactly what I needed for my knee to gain back strength & to heal. It's been so nice to be able to bend down and walk up/down stairs, and do other activities like I did a few years ago. Ryan also administered ultrasound & dry needling treatments to help with some of the pain I occasionally experience from the OA. Every time I came in Ryan would check to see how my knee was doing and then make an assessment & plan of action to follow that day. I was also given information on what to do when I was at home, so I could continue my progress on the days I wasn't there. Really, the whole team has impressed me, from Monya & Rebecca in the front to the tech's & crew assisting the PT's (Julie, Lexi, etc...). I would highly recommend Denton Sports & Physical Therapy to anyone needing physical therapy and who needs results from it.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience here recovering from a snapped fibula, followed the program, communicated with my PT Ryan, and got quality feedback anytime I had questions. I cannot recommend this practice enough to anyone in need of help getting back to their pre-injured self. Shout out to the rest of the staff as well, everyone was very kind and helpful. P.S. Do not come into this clinic thinking that the people working here are magic genies who will grant your recovery wishes in a few visits. They plant the seeds to make that happen and it’s up to you to maintain the garden. Do your homework, keep a positive attitude every day, and remember that recovery is a slow process and if you respect that you’ll recover faster than you think.

Negative experience: I came to strengthen my shoulders due to a genetic condition that makes one of them pop out of socket like once every few years. While here I noticed tons of neglect: I was doing an exercise with a tech and Dan walked by and said I wasn't doing it right (concerning) and then we continued on with it without changes. They had a temp therapist come and I was on session 3 or 4 and she said I wasn't even using the right muscles which no one told me. I had a tech tell me "um...I think you do this..." about an exercise which is insane to hear. This would be whatever except now I have pain every day all day in both shoulders. I stopped going in the hopes my muscles will atrophy back to normal but they haven't. I even told the therapist Ryan that I was feeling worse and he told me that's fine and we would take it slow and then nothing changed. I also told him my pain was now in my elbow too which it hasn't been and again nothing changed. I went to only 6 appointments and now I can't lay on my sides to sleep and I constantly feel my shoulders hurting all day. I think the biggest kicker was techs leaving me to go set up my next exercise aka watch the TV in the exercise room. Note that the therapists only see you for about 10 min then kick you off to a tech who will leave you alone to do whatever you want to whatever muscle group you want. I am terrified that I have lasting damage from double booking and a severe lack of care. UPDATE; it's been three months and I continue to have chronic pain in both shoulders. Every day all the time. Being referred here was the greatest mistake of my life as my ability to do things has been limited severely by pain caused by these "practitioners"

Negative experience: These individuals display a significant lack of courtesy. Dan, in particular, comes across as condescending, and what's astonishing is that the discourtesy seems to originate from somewhere. His demeanor is particularly intense, especially when engaging with others during therapy, particularly water aerobics. Denton should consider seeking a different water therapy provider, as the current place is truly unpleasant. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Fantastic experience: I’d been struggling with hip pain for over a year and finally did something about it. The staff were great and really listened to me and we explored different options. Unfortunately, due to work travel and insurance limitations I didn’t get to really use all my planned sessions. At first, I didn’t see any improvement but I doubled down and committed to keeping up with the stretches and exercises daily. It took more than 2 months (they warned me it would take time!) but I’m now basically pain free, and going strong. I will definitely go back if I ever need any physical therapy again.

Fantastic experience: The entire team here was fantastic! I had a lingering hamstring injury that was limiting my activity for months. I had resigned myself to the fact that I may never get back to where I was before, but decided to try physical therapy. Dan, Ryan, and the team got me running and healthy again!

Fantastic experience: Soooo grateful for this place! The people here truly love their jobs and it shows in the level of care and attentiveness that they provide. Things weren’t looking great for me earlier this year and I was offered nerve ablation. I had asked if I could try PT instead before getting my nerves burned, and I’m so glad I did. I was a little tentative about trying PT to be honest. Having previously tried PT for a broken ankle and just being handed an exercise sheet and left on my own, I wasn’t super optimistic. BUT THIS PLACE… this place has completely changed my view on physical therapy, what it should be, and how great the benefits are! Not that I’m hoping that anyone will ever need PT, but I would so highly recommend this place if you do. Ryan is my main DPT there, and between him and the techs, I know I’m in great hands. Having watched the others there as well, I’m continually impressed with the level of support. They are all engaged and pay close attention to all of your movements to ensure that you are being efficient and effective in your movements, and that you are conscious of the ways in which you’re moving. If you’re in pain or have suffered an injury, please check them out! You won’t regret it!

Negative experience: Rebecca was extremely rude and refused to work with me when I told her I did not have access to a computer for the paperwork at the time. She refused to mail me the paperwork and told me that I could not come into the office to fill it out. It was only 2 months later that another doctor prescribed their facility and she was rude again. Save yourself some time and avoid speaking with this woman. Go somewhere else

Fantastic experience: Ryan and the staff were wonderful! I have degenerative disk problems in my low back that had gotten so bad I was in a lot of pain. My son got married Labor Day weekend and I was determined to be able to dance at his wedding! Ryan made it happen! I highly recommend this facility!

Negative experience: My neurologist and podiatrist recommended therapy for the nerve damage in my leg/foot. Awesome so I went home and looked up a rehab and I saw this place was in network. After a few sessions I was still trying to figure it out if it was right. Think I went to 3 and every time it was very subtle. Defiantly would not recommend this place for younger people who have high goals. Therapist were nice, Dan showed me good exercises on my last visit. So people are aware, this is not 1 on 1 therapy from a licensed therapist. Half the time you are with trainers? They are nice but just show you what to do that’s already on the paper.. I can easily look on google and find exercises and do them myself and not waste my money on nothing. In the end I stopped going because they charged me 2 times without letting me know after the first time. We did sign a contract that states their policy and that’s awesome and fair! The thing is I was charged a no show fee when I’m pretty sure I’ve gone all my times. But they didn’t tell me after the first one, just let it stack up. I suffer from an anoxic brain injury and my memory’s not the best. Very bad short term memory and I feel I’m doing very good with all these appointments and keeping up with them. Never missed 1 app but apparently I missed therapy but they didn’t call me to inform me.

Fantastic experience: Physical therapy here has been life-changing! I have been amazed at how much all of it has helped me. Ryan has been truly wonderful throughout, and I absolutely recommend him to anyone! I enjoyed working with Ryan and all of the staff. Although I got to ring the bell, my "graduation" today was bittersweet because I am really going to miss them!

Fantastic experience: Never had PT before and doubted it would help my shoulder problem. By the end of my treatment period, I was a believer. I was also so very impressed by the careful planning, recording and measuring that Dan and his team did on my progress. All the while, everybody was friendly, upbeat, and helpful. Best of all, the positive effects of the treatment program continued. That has inspired me to write this review -- four months after treatment ended.

Negative experience: This place doesn't deserve a star. I had a van crush me. 2 back surgeries and a 4th neck surgery coming up. I'm on Morphine, Hydrocodone and muscle relaxers & I had to call out because I was in Pain. They charged me for that day. I can't do much of anything when I am in pain like that. They call themselves Christians so where is the "I would have mercy than sacrifice"? No mercy at all.

Fantastic experience: From beginning to the end of our sessions Sammy Alexis and Dan made us feel like family they all were very professional and were very paitent kind and understanding to your needs and a joy to be around I'll never forget them love you guys. Plus once you get to know them they are really fun to be around and, they are great company to have. Love them they are like family to me☺☺.

Fantastic experience: Thanks to Dr. Hankel I can go toe-to-toe with guys like “the Alexes” on the trails. Nothing like a good scraping or needling to make it hurt so good. In and out quickly, Never a wait, easy to schedule, excellent care. I’ve been able to push through and challenge myself despite injuries and setbacks. Living my best life.

Fantastic experience: I had my first appointment yesterday after having lower back surgery in November 2016. I was nervous because I had never been to PT before and I didn't know how hard they would push me. I was relieved that the first visit was primarily a new patient exam where they gauged my flexibility and strength. They were very respectful and smart about how they had me move around. I didn't feel like I was pushing myself too much, and they did an amazing job. They are all very down to earth and friendly, and I'll definitely recommend this place to anyone. It's easy to miss and you've probably driven by it a dozen times, so use Google Maps for sure!
