Cottonwood Nursing & Rehabilitation

Negative experience: I find it ironic that the only good reviews are mostly by the workers and it make me wonder what kind of bonus or treat they receive for doing that. My momma has only been a resident since July 22 and in that short amount of time she has been there, 3 different serious incidents have happened. The most aggravating and heinous actions was done by the administrator and two other workers. They made sure I had left and questioned my poor 84 year old mom until she was hysterically crying and begging for them to get me. Lastly, the administrator taped the entire conversation without notifying my mom. The last time I checked that was a crime?!? That brutal interrogation lasted for 41 minutes. I would just hope that more people read this and report to The Texas Health and Human Services. Something needs to be done so Cottonwood doesn’t do this again. Fantastic experience: My wife completed an extended stay at Texas Health Presbyterian Denton during December 2022-January 2023. While in the hospital short-term rehab was recommended prior to her discharge. Cottonwood Nursing and Rehabilitation in Denton was able to accept her. She was transferred from THP Denton to Cottonwood. During her time there (about thirty days) I was able to visit her on several occasions while taking the opportunity to meet with the staff and observe the care given to their residents including my wife. My wife and I were extremely satisfied with the care and compassion she received during her stay. My wife enjoyed her interaction with staff, the meals, and physical therapy sessions. I spoke with several of the care givers including On-Site Social Worker (Jennifer), Administrator (Kenneth), and Director of Rehab (Haley). The improvement I observed in my wife was awesome. She regained strength and mobility. During her stay with staff supervision she was able to stop taking a very strong prescribed painkiller which she had been taking for several years. Just one of the unexpected blessings we received at Cottonwood. We highly recommend the facility and staff. Thank you Cottonwood! Five stars!

Fantastic experience: Although my time here as a nurse came to an end, I honestly cannot recommend a better nursing facility. From the CNAs, house keeping, to dietary, the staff here truly love the residents. All of the staff at cottonwood work hard to give the residents the best life they can have. After working in different nursing homes, i’ve realized nothing can compare to Cottonwood, the cleaniess, cooking and care is unmatched. Cottonwood is truly a home. So, if you’re looking for a home for a loved one in the DFW area, i strongly recommend Cottonwood Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Fantastic experience: I’ve worked as a charge nurse here at Cottonwood for 8+ months. This facility truly cares for their residents. They make life here, fun! I’ve enjoyed working here and love all my working peers. The food is fantastic and all the residents receive excellent care. I would recommend this facility to anyone who needs to place a loved one in a long term facility.

Fantastic experience: Exceptional staff, very professional. This facility is clean and very well run. The staff there goes above and beyond for its patients with all kinds of fun inclusive events for its residents. The staff treats its patients like family and it shows.

Negative experience: HORRIBLE PLACE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE RESIDENTS FACILITY IS NASTY STAFF IS RUDE AND VERY NONCHALANT. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE PLEASE BEWARE!

Negative experience: My wife spent her last six months of life here. The place was basically a prison. My wife couldn't sleep and the place was filthy. Some of the nurses had terrible attitudes and it made me wonder what all went on there.
