Fantastic experience: After surgery my husband was admitted to Horizon for continuing urgent care. The nurses & tech people in particular went above & beyond in care & concern & love for him. The administration & doctors are exemplary.

Negative experience: Not recommended! They reject anyone that has more then one comorbidity without even evaluation of the patient. Highly unethical for a medical facility that says they follow the hippocratic oath to do no harm! They straight up tell you that they only want easy patients that they know will be able to get out of their facility.

Fantastic experience: What an AWESOME experience at the rehabilitation center! From our first experience with the facility liaison Julie that introduced herself to us at the beginning of the process. When we arrived at the facility EVERYONE was so friendly and welcoming!! I walked past 8 employees on day one and they all spoke to me and greeted me. Kelly the Director of Rehab Services welcomed us during intake. She was proactive from the beginning. She went above and beyond making sure that my Mom had what she needed. Jennifer the Caseworker developed a special bond with my Mom. She listened to our concerns and did her best to resolve the concerns we had with going home. The kitchen staff served good meals. Mom said it the best hospital food she has had in the last year. They made sure she had her favorite drink. Another first time for me was when the pharmacist came down during intake to discuss my Mom’s medication. In all of my life I’ve never seen that in any hospital before. The nursing staff was great at answering my questions. If I ever had to send my back to rehab, I would gladly send her back there. It’s a smaller rehab facility with a lot of focus on the patient.

Fantastic experience: My husband spent three weeks at Horizon Medical Center during May 2023. The care was exceptional. He had a severe calf wound and was on intravenous antibiotics after spending two weeks at Medical City Denton. We could not have been happier with the staff to include wound care specialists, pharmacy, nursing staff, case management, admin staff and kitchen staff. On our first full day there was an employee luncheon and several employees ask me to join them. They didn’t even know me … over the next three weeks we developed a close relationship with all and truly felt like part of the Horizon Family. Dennise is a wonderful CEO and her employees are quick to sing her praises. She definitely leads by example. It is a positive environment with employees who care about their patients and their patients’ families. I highly recommend their services and feel so blessed that we were under their care.

Fantastic experience: I was admitted to this facility july the thirteenth, My care was extremely beneficial the staff was amazing. They help me to get the strength back in both legs that were broken due to a car wreck as well as my arm. I am now able to walk support my own weight. The PT and OT staff are a great group of Ladies and they take their time to make sure all is hood before proceeding to the next step, ensuring your comfortable. I would recommend my family and friends if needed. The nursing staff we super great as well. Thank You Horizon you totally rock in my book. Even though I still have a long process in front of me, you have helped me tremendously thanks again.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to take a moment to let people know about the care my brother received at Horizon. When he got there, he was so weak, was in a wheel chair as he couldn’t even stand up. After reviewing his case, he received physical therapy 2 or 3 times a day and got stronger each day. He was there for 3 or 4 weeks and had exceptional care the whole time. I wish I could remember all of their names, they really care about each patient. I do want to call out Julie as she went above and beyond to get Bill transferred from Presby Hospital and also worked with Denton Rehabilitation for his permanent placement. Bill is walking daily and enjoying life again.

Fantastic experience: I have been the IP at Horizon for >9 yrs. As an RN I have always been afforded the tools, time and support to carry out my job responsibilities. Horizon Medical Center has been a great employer to me.

Fantastic experience: 5 Stars on all counts. My father went through 2 hospitals and 2 skilled nursing facilities over a 2 month period with constantly deteriorating results. Wound became worse, his mobility collapsed, and his spirits crushed. All this changed when we finally found Horizon Medical Center. His turnaround was dramatic. They clearly have first rate staff/doctors and run a tight ship. The staff from top to bottom were very attentive, compassionate and helped my family navigate a very difficult and emotional period. Thank you Horizon. You saved my dad.

Positive experience: Overall a really good experience. Caring staff while you are there and after. Willing to work with you and advocate for you. Would recommend if you have the choice on where you go.

Fantastic experience: Thank you to everyone at Horizon who helped me after suffering a heart attack. The care I received was exceptional and the staff are a step above. Nicole, Rose Marie, Mae, Bri, the Keishas, Melissa, Esther, Leslie, Ora, nurse Kim, Wynn, Deepak, and the other caregivers who helped that I cannot remember(sorry). Fantastic experience: I want to share the wonderful experience I had at Horizon Medical Center in Denton, Texas. While on vacation in the Ozarks, Missouri, I had a bike accident. I was care flighted to the hospital where I spent two days due to a pretty good size cut on my leg from my bike. They told me when I got home I would need to see a family doctor. I did and as the days went by my cut turned into a "wound". I didn't know it at the time but the skin was dying. I was told that is common for a "flap wound". I now needed a wound care specialist. My uncle suggested I go to Horizon Medical Center because he had a great experience there. I called and they got me right in. I had the best experience with the staff. They were so personable and friendly. Alice was so kind and understanding. Austin was really nice and had some great ideas and input along the way. Dr. Hermann was very calm and explained things so we could understand them. He made us feel at ease as he answered all our questions, explained our options and kept our outlook positive. I went to Horizon every week for about 3 months. My leg is totally healed thanks to the wonderful staff at Horizon Medical! I will recommend them to all my friends and family. Thank you, Dr. Hermann, Alice and Austin!!!

Fantastic experience: I would like to express how wonderful the entire staff is at Horizon. They did an excellent job taking care of my mother. She arrived on a ventilator and several other issues going on. I was extremely worried about her being there in the beginning because my father had a horrible experience in another facility years ago. Everyone treated her with respect and dignity. Even though she couldn’t speak they would talk to her and tell her everything they were doing. They treated her like family. The nurses were so kind to her. They gave her words of encouragement everyday. Told her how great she was going and she would go home soon. That’s all my mother wanted was to go home. The respiratory dept was wonderful. They weaned her off ventilator in the time frame that worked best for her. They never rushed it but encouraged her. Told her she was ready for the next step even though she was a little apprehensive. It all worked out great and she has been doing good ever since. My mom would like to send special thanks to Shamecka, Zak, Brianna, John just to name a few of the excellent people there. I would like to send special thanks to moms pa Jennifer Pearlman. She was excellent taking care of my mom. I would recommend Horizon to everyone. We had a great experience.

Fantastic experience: The care that I received both in patient and out patient was amazing. No matter what my issue, they were encouraging and understanding. Dr. Herman, Alice, Austin,Kia, and Jessica are an awesome wound care team. All the staff talked to me and got to know me and how best to treat me physically and mentally. I always recommend this facility for wound care.

Negative experience: I was there for a week I was a none verbal quadriplegic at that time due to covid complications the nurse Gina that received me was the meanest nurse she should not have that profession she took advantage of my handicap awful place ora the rt and one of the tech took really good care of me I would have survived if it weren't for those two Dr's didn't even talk to me they only stood at the door and pretended not to hear me it was a nightmare

Fantastic experience: Horizon Medical Center was the best place my dad could’ve been sent to for the purpose of curing his bed sore. ALL the medical staff that participated, had a hand in caring for my dad were the best I’ve seen in the area and back in the valley. Because of my family members I’ve been around medical people quite a bit. I’ve seen good people but the staff here were by far the best. VERY Professional. Not only do the staff have very humane qualities they always made sure my dad was moved, repositioned, and cleaned in a manner that caused him the least amount of pain as possible. I was very impressed how well everyone worked together. I traveled 560 miles away, Los Fresnos Texas, I had no car and pretty much no money. The CEO abled me to stay with my dad on my own bed and DON arranged for me to get a meal each time my dad did, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Horizon Medical Hospital it was one of the Biggest Blessings on my dads Journey we’re going through, they ALL made a difference in OUR LIVES and for that my family and I will be eternally grateful. Fantastic experience: This was the best place I have ever seen. The staff was friendly and treated you like family. I have never seen a place that cares so much for their patients. I can not thank this group of people enough for what they have done for my dad. I wished there was more people like the staff at Horizon Medical Center. The care they gave my dad went above and beyond the call. They treated him with respect and courtesy and compassion. They showed me and my family with the same kindness and respect. And they let us help where we could with my dad rehab. In my dad's last days they showed us so much love and compassion and understanding. May God Bless you all. Me and my family appreciate everything they did. Each nurse was loving and caring. Each nurse's aide was the same. The resiptortary therapist was determined to help get the pneumonia out of my dad's lungs. I would recommend this place to all my friends and family for their loved ones. Fantastic experience: I felt the need to edit my review, because my response was after a very frustrating evening. This place is not perfect, but they do a great job of listening to concerns and try to work to make things better. I really want to give a special thank you to the Case Manager for listening to my concerns today and helping to make it possible to spend time with my girlfriend while she is here as I am working insane hours. The staff here has been very attentive to her pain and wound. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Was nice pleasant cool environment when I first came in, I had just missed dinner time and the chef left but not knowing I asked about a meal and they went into the kitchen and made me an awesome quick meal. Everyone was super nice and caring I even had a girl brush out the tangles in my hair with the conditioning treatment for like 3 hours because I took my ponytail braid out after a couple weeks which they had also nicely done for me.

Fantastic experience: Horizon is a great place to work. The staff are very engaged and really want to do what is best for the patients.

Negative experience: This has to be one of the most unprofessional facilities I have ever dealt with. What kind of medical facility doesn’t allow visitation because of a holiday? Shouldn’t that be the most important time for you to see your loved ones. My wife has been here almost a month and on Christmas of all days Dr. Evans tells me that it looks grim for her and that she wasn’t recovering like she should, but she did start tracking nurses and following small commands from what the therapists and nursing staff told me and from what I have experienced myself. She gets tired very fast though. It’s breaks my heart to say it but this is more of a business than a caring medical facility when it comes to the people running the place. The nursing staff is doing its best but some of the top nurses and respiratory specialist that they had quit because of the politics. I’m very disappointed that I did get to spend news years day with my wife and I will make this know to who ever will listen!

Fantastic experience: My mother was recently treated at Horizon and received excellent care. The staff is friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make her stay go smoothly. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone that needs that extra care before going home.

Negative experience: The absolute worst care I have ever received. Thankfully Baylor's wound care is next door and they provide professional, competent, and compassionate care.

Fantastic experience: My wife is receiving excellent care at Horizon Medical Center in Denton. The staff is competent, compassionate, and committed to providing a comprehensive level of care which makes them the "go-to" treatment center for patients that require their acute care capabilities. If you have a loved one that has exhausted the resources of other treatment facilities, to no avail, find out how much more care can be provided by the staff at Horizon. Please do this. You and your loved one will be glad that you did.
