XL Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab

Fantastic experience: Over the past 20 years I have had physical therapy on many occasions due to shoulder and knee surgeries. At times in the past I chose to go to locations closer to where I live but if I were you I wouldn’t consider any other therapy provider than XL therapy. They are miles above the rest.

I was greeted by the front desk person Ebony, and she was very pleasant, professional and informative. Then I was assigned to work with Tom, omg he was also very pleasant, professional, informative and very effective towards my initial consult and therapy. I've been in chronic pain for so long and the first therapy session made a 100% difference. I also met Jordan and he was also pleasant and professional. Finally, the owner Mr. Lonnie the owner who is also a PT and a remarkable hands-on person. I highly recommend this facility for your physical therapy needs. Fantastic experience: PT sucks. Its Hard. Slow. Painful. And, IT WORKS. BUT to get your broken body functioning again you need 2 things: 1) YOU have to be willing to 'put the work in' and 2) you get really lucky (or really smart by reading my reviews) finding talented, dedicated people to care and put you back together again. XL Physical Therapy is that place. It is a haven of hope. I was asked to provide a review. Normally I'm reticent to do so because candidly, I'm letting the secret out of the bag - they are THE BEST for a REASON! Read on... In full disclosure, I have now worked with XL three (3) times over a six (6) year period. These review points (ratings, pre se) are pretty consistent from 2016 to 2019 to now which says a lot. FYI. My format for all my reviews follow suit: The place, the people, the results. Here goes. PLACE (Facility): I have and continue to use the facility right at Holy Cross hospital. Its not large maybe 3K sq ft, and it's stuffed with every machine and device imaginable to exercise your broken body slowly back to health. It's not fancy, but no one is there for the looks of the place. However, on every wall aside from all the sports memorabilia are photos and proses of authentic thanks from plain folks to celebrities, all who have come out better and not broken any more (there's a bell for that, we'll get to that later). Over all, with security squirrels guarding and overseeing the comings and goings of the worse parking lot (and people attempting to park in it) that you could ask for locally. If there is ANY down side or negative, its the parking... go figure. PEOPLE: The most important part when you are in pain and broken. Its critical to know you are working with skilled, schooled and experienced therapists. Here, you are. Even Jack, the proprietor, is also a therapist. No ivory towers here, everyone is involved in your healing. It starts with front desk: Or as I like to say, Ebony. NO ONE gets past Ebony without first having been processed and evaluated. Even attempting to get your foot in the place, nothing is going to happen without Ebony. She is a pure delight and always cheerful. I get to cut up with her, but that's me. Additionally, she is both keeper of the guard squirrels (you think I'm joking, ha ha on you!) and the lifesavers, but even more importantly, scheduling. This is a VERY IN DEMAND place, so no schedule, no getting in. Plain and simple. Therapist. My primary is Tom. Total professional. Top notch. Experienced, schooled and disciplined, serious, and a bit of a miracle worker that has somehow fixed this shoulder this time--even after I had a second accident and was set back significantly, he got me turned around and back on track. He is a gifted therapist. And one hell of a nice guy. Then there is Kim who is kind & funny, with a bright uplifting spirit and also very talented. This is without a doubt one of the hardest working, well oiled crews I've seen. And the assistants. Wan (inside joke, its Juan) was kind, good natured, and always watchful and encouraging. He left to go to school to become a therapist and Hanley replaced him. And again, she is just as kind and consciencous, sweet, focused, and encouraging. My hat is off to Jack for always finding and keeping a great staff. RESULTS: So net net, you can't go wrong with XL and this team of therapists. But WORK is the operative word. Don't think you're going to be baby sat either. They aren't going to stand there and hold your hand. Baby you, no, get you rehabilitated, uh, hell yes. In other words, it's one to one therapy, but no, you aren't the soul object of their attention as they may be working with several people at the same time. But don't think for a minute that means lesser attention. It doesn't! It's just how a labor based business model works. But the proof are these reviews, and countless others who have been put back togethere here at XL. Unfortunately (for me) I HIGHLY recommend XL, but alas, you'll only know if you can 1) get a parking space and 2) you pass the Ebony test. Be well.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to XL Physical Therapy by a friend who was a former client. Never having had physical therapy previously, I did not know what to expect. Ebony at the front desk was very welcoming and explained the process. Jack, the owner did my evaluation and it was very professional and focused on healing my shoulder. I was assigned to several therapists initially who were all terrific. After several visits, I was assigned to Jordan who was a terrific therapist and really got my shoulder to feel great. The tech Juan, was super great, assisting me with my equipment setup. If you are in need of therapy, this is the place to go. it is fantastic.

Fantastic experience: XL Physical Therapy has been a blessing for my teenager after her ACL reconstructive surgery, the staff is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable, Ebony at the front desk was very helpful since the beginning to try to get us in and to accommodate our appointments with our schedules. Jack (The Owner) and Loney have been nothing but amazing to us, and have been key in my teenage recovery journey! Fantastic experience: Tom found out exactly what was going on with my shoulder and after 2 weeks I am back to the same pressing motion that i previously could not perform without pain. Fantastic experience: Years ago, I had an incident that resurfaced seven years later; both ligaments in my arm were damaged. The gym is a place to release stress and stay healthy. I was told that it would take eight weeks to bring myself back to a place where I could regain access to what I take on my gym routine. I was referred to XL Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab, where I met Ebony Coleman, who welcomed me into their center with arms wide open and a sense of confidence that made me feel I would heal. Positive experience: Disappointed. I didn’t even get to book an appointment. Called 5 times over like 4 hours. Straight to voicemail. No idea about the type of treatment. This review is just to highlight the inability to get a hold of the front desk.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to XL Physical therapy and sports rehab for approximately 2 years for various post operative rehab and physio. I would undoubtedly not have progressed, healed and regained my strength and mobility without Jacks and Lani's years of experience and working in accordance with the doctors protocols. What is stand out for me is the moment you walk into the centre your greeted by the beautiful Ebony full of life and compassion, making sure you have a schedule of appointments to ensure you recovery is seamless. All the staff work together, the therapists and staff are friendly and warm. I know that I couldn't be in a better practice. Ebony was a big reason why I chose the facility with her friendliness, professionalism and MRI advice, so major shout out to her! She was always a joy to speak to! Fantastic experience: I recently had Knee surgery and sought the physical therapy that XL Therapy offers. The personal services and explanation on each exercise was through. The facility is clean, has plenty of space and equipment to spread out, and focus on the healing process. I would highly recommend XL Therapy and the highly skilled staff.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to XL for rehab on a knee that had arthroscopic surgery. In that time, I've found the staff to be knowledgeable, friendly and always accessible to answer any questions you might have about the process or future activities you were considering. When you arrive at your scheduled time, you never have to wait, nor is there extended downtime between exercises. XL makes it easier in a stressful time with positive benefits.

Fantastic experience: Day 18 (Sept. 20, 2021) post Left Hip replacement. No Athlete here people. As a Cardiologist put it, I'm a vegetable with a pulse. In years past; I endured so much pain and lost simple, normal mobility. Sheridan, my XL Physical Therapist understands my surgical procedure. Sheridan listens to my concerns at every visit and we move forward. Everyone is different; the XL Therapy treatment is tailor made for me 'The Vegetable with a Pulse' and 'Professional Athlete' on the next table over. Fantastic experience: I first went to XL Physical Therapy for a rotator cuff injury in 2015. Thanks to Lonny Reeber’s excellent physical therapy, I strengthened the surrounding muscles and years later remain pain-free with full range of motion. Due to a recent pickelball knee injury, I returned to XL for PT from Lonny. I have already seen improvement and am confident of a full recovery. I totally recommend XL for its pleasant, professional staff and clean, convenient facility.

She would ask me about my life and share things from hers She treated me like a friend. And I could see that she was the same with her other clients. Fantastic experience: I couldn't be happier with my experience at XL. I have a broken hip which requires pretty specialized care. All of the therapists with whom I've worked have been completely on top of my needs. All are very knowledgeable of the nuances of my condition.

Fantastic experience: XL is awesome! This is my third knee surgery and I was told by one doctor I’d be lucky to walk again without a knee pain. I’ve been to multiple physical therapists and this time around I did research to make sure I got the best PT I possibly could and XL did not disappoint. I work with Lonny and he pushes me hard, but it’s worth the work! I’m already walking without pain and on my way back to physical activity! The third time around post surgery, and I’m further along than I was after the first two surgeries at this point in the rehab process.

Fantastic experience: Great staff; very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. They create a program that is made for you and listen to your concerns and understand your needs. They provide written instructions for a program for you after you complete your PT so you can work on your own at your own pace at home. All the people there are really nice and easy to be around. They make the time go by quickly.

Negative experience: I got worse after seeing XL. I went to XL Physical Therapy next to Holy Cross Hospital to rehab my shoulder which has a torn labrum and rotator cuff. After just 1 visit my shoulder got worse with more pain and less range of motion. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued to go there 5 more times in hopes of getting better. Unfortunately my shoulder continued with the same pain and lack of mobility. I then decided to try going to somewhere else and went to Broward Health Imperial Point, which is just 2 miles north on Fed Hwy. After just 2 visits I was able to see improvement. I have since been there 20 times and my strength and range of motion have improved dramatically. After seeing my doctor, he told me that he won't need to operate after all and I just need to continue my P/T for another month. In comparing both locations, I realized that XL P/T must have misdiagnosed the state I was in during my initial evaluation with them, and they placed me on an exercise regimen too advanced for my condition. For instance, they had me doing straight arm shoulder raises to 90 degrees (in the YTI positions) with every visit. This just made things worse for me because my shoulder was just too weak to do this with even the slightest weight. In contrast, Broward Health only had me do forward straight arm shoulder lifts after my 15th visit, and with no weight. I was also able to work with the lead therapist every week so she could see and evaluate my progress and make small adjustments to my workouts. In conclusion, the people at XL were all very friendly, but unfortunately XL couldn't do the job.

Fantastic experience: I have been to Jack Zatorski many times over the years for various tennis injuries and am currently seeing him at XL for PT after having shoulder surgery. I have to say that Jack is absolutely fantastic! He is extremely knowledgeable and really takes time with each person and truly cares about their outcome. The manual therapy he provides each visit is so helpful and never rushed, and the workout/rehab routine he created for me is specific and always evolving to help get me back to my sport as soon as possible. Jack is organized, caring, and always on top of things. And the clinic has great weight and workout machines and an amazing amount of PT equipment. The atmosphere is very relaxed and pleasant, and I really enjoy going there. I highly recommend Jack and XL PT for anyone needing physical therapy!

Fantastic experience: XL Physical Therapy is amazing. I have been there twice. Once for my back and this time after torn meniscus surgery. I go to Lonnie and he is amazing. He know’s exactly what to do and he takes the time to listen to how you are feeling and how the current treatment is working for you as an individual. As you progress he will add new exercises to your current routine to help you get stronger. I love it at XL because the whole team is great and they all work together to help each other, and everything runs so smooth there. I would recommend XL to anyone who needs therapy and wants the best care possible so they can get back to their everyday life as soon as possible.

Fantastic experience: I am treated there for 2 rehab shoulder arthroscopy. The team is great. I love the variety and progression of exercices. The PT Zack and PT assistant Hector, Ebony, CS/front desk are great. They are friendly and professional. I highly recommend XL Physical Therapy.

Fantastic experience: XL Physical Therapy is the best! I went to them, starting 2 days after a total knee replacement, and continued for about 7 weeks. ALL of the staff are so supportive and encouraging and everyone, including other PT patients, are friendly. With their help, my PT experience was very positive and my rehab was quick. They also put the "fear of God" in me to keep doing the exercises st home. I am one year out from surgery with full range of motion and no pain; I am now scheduling to rehab with them after total replacement on my other knee. Both my husband (shoulder problems) and my son (basically every joint while playing football and baseball) and I would highly recommend XLTherapy. Anne Hilmer

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient at XL twice in the last year for an ankle injury and surgery and had outstanding experiences both times! The staff is so friendly, helpful, and amazing at what they do--you can't go wrong with any of the therapists here. Every patient gets a very personal experience, and the staff really cares about your progress. Hector is my therapist and he does an incredible job of pushing me to improve while keeping my limitations in mind, and makes it fun throughout. I can't recommend XL highly enough!!

Fantastic experience: If you want the best physical therapy in south Florida you need to come to XL. I know they are the best since I have been to other PT's without the progress I have made here. They not only have the BEST Physical Therapists but the entire staff is customer focussed and cares about all their Clients. Lonny has been my PT and is truly amazing!! Fantastic experience: The entire team at XL---owner, therapists, assistants, receptionist---are incredible! Everyone is highly trained, caring, personable and encouraging. A had 3 surgeries in one year, so I have spent a great deal of time there. The place is full of light, extremely clean, and has every piece of equipment needed to keep the therapy dynamic and fresh. What I appreciated most was the positive vibe that makes everyone believe they are going to get better! I and my entire family (all customers) are so thankful for this place!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to many PT locations in Broward County and XL is next level! My husband is a physician and he agrees that XL’s knowledge and equipment are the best in Broward. I’ve been in their care for 2 knee surgeries and a fractured elbow. My daughter has been to XL for her shoulder and knee. We are all back to our way of life and it’s because of XL. Fantastic experience: This is my 3rd time at XL...first 2 with hip replacements and now with a fractured ankle...and obviously could not be more pleased with the entire professional yet friendly staff and clean, light infused atmosphere with all the equipment you might need! This is the best PT facility around. Lonny Reeber is incredible-a caring, highly trained, knowledgeable, professional who individualizes your treatment and is truly concerned about your progress and recovery. He listens, asks and answers questions, encourages and tweaks each session accordingly. The entire team at XL---owner, therapists, assistants, receptionist---is wonderful! A positive place with great results. Do not hesitate if you need PT or Sports Rehab...they will not let you down!!!

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Jack and his Team enough! Great service and care is given to every patients and it shows. I couldn’t help but notice how patients enjoyed their one on one time here with the team during their sessions. Fantastic experience: I had THE BEST experience following my knee replacement surgery. The staff is kind and caring, but they also encourage you to work as hard as you can. I LOVED going. Alex was my primary therapist, and she was outstanding. The therapists work well together and all were very nice and helpful.
