Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Gainesville Wellness and Performance Physical Therapy (GWP) I have had PT sessions at a hospital clinic and I have had PT sessions at GWP. In my experience there is no comparison. GWP therapists are not only highly educated, professional and skilled, they are one on one client oriented, without distraction. They have, and take, the time to teach along with treat an injury or other physical ailment. The treatments I have received at GWP have been successful, end of story.

Fantastic experience: I am a high school baseball coach and have sent several of my players to GWP not only have they fit them in right away. They have been able to have a plan in place to get the player returned to the field safely. The staff there are knowledgeable, caring, and take the time to pay attention to detail. I recommend GWP highly.

Fantastic experience: GWP Physical Therapy's model of care is a light in the healthcare industry. They are the only place I trust to send my elderly group fitness clients. I not only trust them with my clients, but my family. It was going to take months for my daughter to be seen for physical therapy due to needing a referral and prior authorization from our cruddy insurance. One phone call and two days later, she was seen and continues to receive top notch care from an actual physical therapist.

Fantastic experience: GWP Physical Therapy has been an amazing resource to keep me moving! After having both of my knees replaced years ago I needed a tune up for improving my strength and balance. I was with the same therapist every session and loved starting the session with soft tissue work.

Fantastic experience: My kids and I were involved in an accident, and we were referred here for our injuries. They have an incredible team. They are thorough, patient, kind, and compassionate. Drs Rachel Peck and Megan Sweeney were great with our initial exams (and were so considerate with how we felt...Dr Peck explained that the first week post-accident may feel worse and I am grateful that she warned me), the front desk was great with explaining the insurance side of things (and was great with my many questions), and Dr Lauren Lehman Atkins is just... out of this world. She called ME once she got the referral, she reassured me that we were all going to be okay when we were still shaken up, and she helped us get on to the calendar immediately. She checked out my son and I and immediately gave us some kind of idea of what was wrong and our necessary treatment plans. The team emails you a summary after your appointment with videos to remind you of how to do your at-home therapy, too. Their level of expertise, care, and willingness to explain everything with you creates such a compassionate, safe space to recover, to heal, and to push yourself into healing. They let you go at your pace and explain the parts of your body that are being activated or the parts that need some love. It helps with visualizing whilst attempting to heal or recover those areas. I can't say enough good things about them; I'd 5/5 strongly recommend them.

I have worked with a number of therapists at GWP throughout the years to help me with pelvic floor rehab postpartum and rehab from both acute and chronic pain. Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at GWP Physical Therapy for many years – both for Physical Therapy and Acupuncture. All of the services have been tailored to my needs to help me deal with some very complicated issues – balance, spine and neck issues, to name a few. My acupuncture treatments with Carola have been wonderful as have my appointments with several of the Physical Therapists (Lauren, Rachel and Megan) for my many problems. She took the time to educate me, come up with a plan that wasn’t rushing things, but to give me a long term solution. She has an athlete mindset so she understands the process of getting you back in your sport. Fantastic experience: I came to GWP in the middle of my recovery from an ACLR, two meniscus repairs, and a partial meniscectomy. I’ve worked with 6 different PTs in the past year and a half of my recovery from the injury and the surgeries that followed, and have gotten a pretty good understanding of what kind of PT works for me at this point. I was just traveling through Gainesville, so Dr. Haley Sweeney had only a few weeks to figure out my strengths, weaknesses, and goals (getting back to surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, tennis and just general athleticism), and to come up with a good plan of action. She jumped right in and met me exactly where I was in the process. Every appointment was efficient and well-thought out, and I always felt appropriately challenged. She provided me with a great variety of awesome workouts that really target my weak areas, and explained her reasoning behind everything beautifully. I wish I could have stayed longer, as I have seen great progress just in the few weeks I worked with her. I highly recommend Dr. Haley Sweeney for anyone who is working to get back to sports - she is incredibly knowledgeable, fun to work with, and she knows how to get results. Fantastic experience: 3 weeks ago I started seeing Mackenzie because I could hardly squat due to L knee pain. I decided to give the Softwave Therapy a try and after 2-3 sessions, the swelling went down and pain substantially decreased. 2 weeks later after getting 2 sessions/week I was able to participate in a fitness competition where I won the workout that had squats in it. I am a firm believer in Physical Therapy and it’s benefits. Also it should be noted that GWP is the hands down the best place in Gainesville for Physical Therapy. Their clinic is beautiful and clean. Mackenzie has saved my life so I can do the things I like to do and she is always willing to work with my busy schedule. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. If you are thinking about trying the softwave therapy, just do it. Make the investment in yourself because it truly works and it’s a game changer.

Fantastic experience: I've gone to GWP a couple of times for different issues. I'm a professional guitar player and my left hand was really hurting. Scary! Mackenzie used Soft Wave Therapy on it and after one session, my pain vanished. I can't recommend Mackenzie and GWP enough. :)

Fantastic experience: I visited GWP yesterday for a pre op evaluation for a total knee replacement. My experience with them was nothing short of excellent! The front office staff were very friendly and my PT Rachel provided me with excellent care. She walked me through what my rehab would look like and also gave me exercises to complete before my surgery that will help with strengthening. GWP has always been great with me for all my previous surgery rehabs and I know that this upcoming experience will be amazing as well.

Fantastic experience: GWP Physical Therapy is hands down the best PT clinic I have found in Gainesville. The facility is clean, the staff is so compassionate and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is so lovely! I have personally worked with Rachel and she is just the best! She's knowledgeable, she listens, and most of all she cares! The practice does not take insurance, which might be a detractor for some, but I can assure you they are worth every penny. You cannot find this level of care and treatment personalization anywhere else and I think they are the gold standard for what a PT clinic should strive to be.

Dr Lauren Atkins is caring and incredibly knowledgeable and her husband Jason is a wonderful trainer and just all round great guy (Heyy Buddy!). I went through rehab following shoulder surgery and then was back when I tore my ACL. I got to work Mackenzie who is quite easily one of my favorite people and I cannot recommend this team enough.

Fantastic experience: The best physical therapists in Gainesville!! From general physical therapy to pelvic floor. I have seen Lauren and worked with her personally. I am blown away by her expertise. They are kind and attentive and very knowledgeable. Prior to GWP I thought giving patients exercises to do at home was good enough. Lauren made me understand the difference between having a student vs a trained physical therapist work with you for the entire hr. She has her hands on my body making sure I am activating the correct muscles. My form is usually wrong and luckily she is there to correct me every step of the way. They most definitely worth going to. Deductibles are outrageous now days. They are so reasonable that I would rather not use my insurance and get care that will actually fix me and meets my needs. All the staff and therapists are kind and knowledgeable. I would send all my family and patients to any one of them. Thanks so much GWP

Fantastic experience: I have really enjoyed working with Rachel. I began working with Rachel because I was experience pain in my right hip- especially after running and done exercises at the gym. Rachel determined the cause was weak hamstring and glute muscles. Each week, Rachel layered on new exercises to meet me at my level. She listened to my concerns and altered a few exercises that didn’t work well for me. I’ve noticed that I have greater body awareness and much stronger glute and hamstring muscles now. I also have better form on my squats, deadlifts, and lunges and no more lower back pain when performing these moves! I’m also running again without pain! Rachel really cares about her clients and I’m so happy she was able to help me!

She is very knowledgeable and gives indepth explanations for treatments which I found very motivating. Fantastic experience: The team GWP is the best place to get your physical therapy. I have been to many physical therapy offices where it's 1 big room with a couple people giving a sheet to follow. NOT at GWP you get personalized therapist to help you all along the way. I will not go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I was suffering from terrible back pain and numbness so I was referred to Dr. Rachel Peck. On the first day I met with Rachel, she did an assessment of me and then the therapy started. Rachel concentrated on my core because she knew I would need a strong core to support my spine. She knew exactly what I needed and made sure I could do all of the exercises at home for the week. Every week, I get an email from her with all the exercises and instructions on how to do them. Those emails are very helpful to me and are a perfect reminder. In August, I had spinal surgery (laminectomy, L4/L5 fusion and PLIF). A month after surgery, I went back to Rachel for post-op physical therapy. Again, she did an assessment of my needs and then we went to work. I was having pain in my knees when I would go from sitting to standing. We took “baby steps” and started working on my core, knees, hamstrings and quads. All of those exercises helped take the pressure off of my lower back and knees. I learned to use my core and to breathe. Every time I leave my session with her, I feel better than when I went in. Everyone is amazed at how well and how fast I recovered post surgery. I tell them it is all because of the great physical therapist I had before the the surgery and all the great work that we did to strengthen my core. I continue to see Rachel every week and each week, I get more exercises to do. I get stronger every time I meet with her. I am grateful to Rachel for taking great care of me. She knows exactly what I need and is very patient with me. I highly recommend Dr. Peck without hesitation. She is awesome!!! Sylvia Hayes

Fantastic experience: GWP Physical Therapy has made a significant difference in my life. Megan is my technician. She is very professional, talented, and personable. My recent ( 3 years) has been affected by strong arthritis in my sacrum and L1 & L2. Previous activity was walking 10 miles, 3 or 4 times a week, and riding my mountain bike 20-40 miles each week. Those activities have been reduced to zero for the past 3 years. I have tried everything including regular PT over 80 times, dry needling, Acupunture, steroid injections, stretching protocol, and a bunch of miracle pills. Megan introduced me to Soft Wave and from the first treatment there was a marked improvement. This treatment is working for me and I’m hopeful that others may have a benefit with this technology. Fantastic experience: I went to GWP after injuring my back in a car accident and I was so glad I did! Before PT, back pain prevented me from cooking, cleaning, sleeping, and exercising. Fantastic experience: After herniating a disc in my lower back, I was terrified to get back to normal life and even back to work. Luckily Megan and GWP were there for me when it was time to start moving again. She made a plan specific to my needs, checked in on me regularly to make sure I was noticing improvements, and really helped me feel confident that my body didn’t just become damaged goods. Feeling great now but I still go in regularly for tune-ups.

Fantastic experience: If you're looking for a great place to foster progress in your physical abilities, look no further! I was injured in a rear-end collision a year ago. Physical Therapy was recommended by my doctor and my husband was skeptical to say the least. My pain levels were high and my mobility rate low, I figured I'd give it a try. I am so happy I did! Megan worked with me every week. They worked with my schedule which was cluttered with weekly medical visits; they were very accommodating. The actual exercises started off slow (at first even I thought "is this even doing anything?") boy was I wrong to question their methods. Within weeks I had more mobility than I'd had for months. They do a great job at teaching you the exercises during the sessions but I love that they emailed me 'how to' videos so I could do them at home. The key is consistency! Do the exercises at home!! If you don't do your homework you're doing yourself a disservice. Your progress will go much faster if you do as they instruct. Trust me, they've made such a huge difference in my life in such a short time. I am so grateful for each an every person I've interacted with, they took me in like an injured baby bird and have enabled me to fly. Thank you so much Megan, Lauren and Dawn Marie.
