North Florida Rehabilitation and Specialty Care: Reviews
Positive experience: I’m a resident here for 7 years and I love activities and candace, I like it here. I love talking with other residents and the staff here everyone is very fun. Thanks for everything you all do. Food is getting better but can use more improvement.
Fantastic experience: I do restorative here and this place is amazing!! they treat the staff well. Better than most places I’ve worked , and the residents get some of the best care I’ve seen from nursing homes , def recommend.
Fantastic experience: Great place . A very clean environment
Positive experience: I have been a resident here for a number of months now on the long term side. I am happy with the care that I receive and the majority of the staff here is great especially Ms.Sharon in particular she always backs me up if I run into any issues. Only issue is food sometimes comes out cold or late. Todd is great help also in therapy. Kim is a pleasure to be around she is very fun and caring she helps with anything. I love the activities. Issue has came about in the passes but things are getting better.
Positive experience: The nurses here are good the staff is friendly. If the food was better and on time I would give 5 stars. I definitely recommend this rehab
Fantastic experience: Currently residing as a resident here and I can honestly say I receive great care, I love looking over all the other residents here as well to make sure they are getting good care. I have a great relationship with all the staff and they are very nice they make me feel loved and at home. Definitely glad to be here.
Fantastic experience: Everything here is good I am a resident . Everyone here is very friendly and helpful I have no complaints greatly appreciate the staff here. I also enjoy the food can't think of anything that needs improvement.
Fantastic experience: I’m a resident here in love this place give it two thumbs up
Fantastic experience: Great place, great staff!
Positive experience: My husband has been in Aspire for rehab from a stroke. This place was not my first choice, but I am so glad we came here now. These people truly caring and are doing a wonderful job treating him. Kimberly, Miguel and Tarmeeka have been exceptional in their care for him. I do recommend Aspire.
Fantastic experience: Aspire is such a wonderful place and atmosphere every one is so friendly and patient driven it's amazing! Very approachable and nice I'm so proud to be working at such a wonderful place with a group of lovely people under wonderful management
Negative experience: So aside from these wonderful human beings, this place is an absolute dump, you'll be lucky if your room is cleaned on a regular basis I went 3 days without it and the food is wretched and cold. The PT/OT side is in bad shape, but Todd,Santos, and Lori do the best with what they have. The other folks I spoke about earlier again are amazing "human beings" B/c not everyone is there to help you. Kim W. she works with all of the intakes, she'll be your go-to in there,my wife and I love her along with Candace and My nurse Miguel and the rockstars = Mrs. Tameka, Pat ❤️, Brian, or Bryan, that young man is going to be the boss one day. So would I suggest this place to anyone, my answer only if you're going there to die. Make sure they have A/C in the room. That is all I got.... the photo was dinner last night, ugh...
Negative experience: Completely unsafe facility. They never provided standard of care, and failed to respond to an urgent situation, which resulted in harm and an ICU stay for my family member. Also left family on a bedpan so long that it caused a wound. It is nearly impossible to get anyone on the phone from their facility. They take many hours to answer call lights for residents. I honestly think my family member who went there would have died under their care if they hadn’t been able to call 911 on their own cell phone. Staff did nothing to help. For your safety, stay away from Aspire.
Fantastic experience: Miss Kim is amazing!!!
Thank you for sharing your experience. We appreciate the feedback!
Negative experience: If you are of Color you won’t have a job long. Administrator only worry about painting and spending money. Turn over rate is high . Residents are neglected because staff makes aware many are doing recreational drugs as well as narcs . Residents are just accepted for a census ♀️ . A family affair literally friends and family word come first before workers who actually have passion for job. They will stick on the heaviest halls. Always understaffed on night shift , ask you to come in for ot then cut your hours back. Overall license and mental health is at risk
We have passed your feedback on to the center management team. We value your feedback and take your concerns seriously. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please call the Executive Director directly. Thank you.
Negative experience: please don’t send your loved ones here very horrible place the staff too & the DON I had worked with there is veryyyyy rude I really don’t see how this place is still open
Thank you for sharing your rating with us. We'd like to better understand your experience. Please email us at [email protected]. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: The staff were pleasant and had good attitudes. But the star was Bree - the case worker! She was so helpful from the beginning of my dad’s stay to making sure he had everything he needed to come home!
Thank you for sharing your experience. We appreciate the feedback!
Fantastic experience: I don't know where these bad reviews are coming from. The staff are very caring and I love this place. The rehab team is awesome and my nurses and cnas really try their best to make sure you are taken care of. The new company has really changed a lot for the better!
Thank you very much for letting us know about your experience with us. We've passed this on to the care community leadership.
Negative experience: I'd like to be able to post a better review but unfortunately it's just not possible at this point and time, and it's actually a very important reason why I can't give this place a better review right now. I don't always get my medication like it says in the MAR. A MAR is the book that lists a patient's medication, the time it's supposed to be given to the patient, and the signature of the nurse on duty at the time. Even more importantly the appointment scheduler doesn't schedule my appointments with my hematologist at the cancer center to get the treatments I need to even be able to treat the cancer diagnosis properly, and that's NOT excusable at all. When I don't get the treatments I will end up in the hospital needing another blood transfusion due to low blood. This is actually a nursing home and like any nursing home nobody ever wants to be there regardless of the palace's reputation, and this place does not have the greatest reputation either, but at least they're working on it and trying to make it better for the residents here. They're hiring some new employees but some of the best employees are leaving, however they are not leaving just because of the reputation of this particular nursing home, they're mostly leaving due to geographical location reasons, to be closer to family and friends and theres actually only a few that's moving, unfortunately for we residents. I will try to remember to keep everyone posted on the progress and improvement of this particular nursing care facility. Oh yeah if you work in the healthcare industry at this level by all means come fill out application. Thanks for reading this review.
Robert, we'd like to better understand the reason for your review. We take all comments and feedback seriously as we use that to understand how we can provide a better customer experience. Please call us at the care center to speak with one of our customer service representatives. Thank you.
Negative experience: The reason I’m not giving this place one star is because of Kimmy, the front entrance receptionist. She is always so helpful and informative. If she doesn’t have the answers she will find the person that does and gets back to you in a timely manner. There are also many more employees that really helped me a lot. To many to name but if you have been here with me for the past three years you know who are. I’m really going to miss you guys.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We strive to provide excellent customer service so we value your feedback as we'll use this to improve our services to our patients and families. If you'd like to speak with Executive Director about this further, please call the care center directly. Thank you.
Negative experience: The first 18 days I was here, I had no air conditioning. No call light's no Bell's. If you love your family member you won't send them here!
Patient and family satisfaction is our top priority and we strive to provide excellent customer service. Have you discussed this directly with the Executive Director and/or Nursing Director about this at the care center? Please call the care center for follow-up. Thank you.
Negative experience: Staff friendly
Patient and family satisfaction is our top priority. We'd like to better understand the rating you left us. Please call the Executive Director at (352) 331-3111. Thank you.
Negative experience: No one ever calls you back when you are trying to get updates or talk to a case manager or administrator.
We understand your frustration and apologize that getting in touch with your desired parties has been challenging. We've shared with the team and they are aware of your need to speak with someone. Please contact our care center so that we can have someone call you directly. Thank you for letting us know.
Negative experience: Do not alow anyone you love to be in this place. They medically endangered our loved ones life by neglecting to turn on her oxygen and leaving her unattended for hours. They would not let us enter the facility and would not check on our loved one. When we raised an issue they called the sheriff on us and had us removed from the property. This place will kill your family, avoid at all cost!
David, we take all concerns very seriously and are actively looking into the alleged circumstances and will involve the appropriate parties as necessary.
Fantastic experience: The rehab I had was excellent, I see Kristen and Tracy. My nursing is also awesome, Veronica, Patience and Trina help me and take good care of me. Nicole and Jada are great nurses too! Edwin has been very helpful as well.
Thank you for your kind words! We really appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with us, and we value your opinion. As always, if there's anything we can do for you, please contact the center's Executive Director or Director of Nursing.
Positive experience: There is no place like home! However, to do what we can't do at home for the continued care of our love one is what we expect. Our expectation are being met. Thanks North Florida Rehab staff and Ms. Kim in the front office!
Thank you for your kind words. Our leadership and frontline staff are constantly looking for ways to create a legendary patient and family experience.
Positive experience: From very good and nice g food in the dining room to not so good and old cold. Wehave some excellent C.N.A..and others not worth a plug nickel Nurseson the 225 hall and from 150 to 226 are very good and care about the residents. C. L Sargent 254 A .I meant to say 150 to 256. I apologize.

Andie, thank you for your kind words. Our leadership and front line staff are constantly looking for ways to create a legendary patient and family experience.
Fantastic experience: I would like the facility, Mr.George Hamilton andStaff for the excellent care I receive while being a resident in this facility. We had a resident council buffet and I want to thank everyone for participating and making this event a success. And when I leave I hope they continue the tradition monthly with the residents.Wehope staff and residents can continue making this facility one of the best. This is a very good facility and I would recommend it to anyone. I was down and out and I needed this place to get me to where I am today. Everyone has their opinions of NFRSC but my experience has been great. And their social service department is great and haves helped me since I have been here, she listens and truly cares about the resident here.
Mary, thank you for your kind words. Our leadership and front line staff are constantly looking for ways to create a legendary patient and family experience.
Fantastic experience: The administrator is awesome ! Walked in the facility to such a welcoming feeling !
Thank you for your kind words. Our leadership and front line staff are constantly looking for ways to create a legendary patient and family experience.
Fantastic experience: Been working here 27 years not the newest put clean and a lot of good workers. Could use more help .But a good place to work .
Fantastic experience: Great place to work, with the best people to be around!
Positive experience: great place to work and i care very well about my patients
Fantastic experience: A fun, if challenging place to work! I've grown both professionally and personally here and discovered a passion for caregiving! Great nursing leadership and teamwork in this building!
Fantastic experience: Very clean and the staff care about the patients.
Thank you for your kind words. Our leadership and front line staff are constantly looking for ways to create a legendary patient and family experience.
Positive experience: The changes in department heads has made a huge difference. There are few things that need to be better, but no place is perfect. Thankful to have the opportunity to be involved in the facility
Positive experience: The facility within itself has shown improvements since ive been here if there is more communication with everyone staff administration and residents it would b much more easier ran it is not the best but diffently not the worst but most of the the staff are very great n go above and beyond the call of duty but wit any place u have those slackers n ppl dat jus come for a check
Toney ,thank you for sharing your rating with us. In order for us to better understand your experience, please call our Consulate Cares line at 1-844-921-2273. Thank you.
Positive experience: My husband just got a job there and he loves it. He said the building is clean and they look like they did some upgrades. All the rooms have TVs and phones.
Stacy, thank you for sharing your view. We appreciate the feedback!
Fantastic experience: My son is a patient here, and the staff is very friendly and efficient. One staff member stands out and that is Kim who works the front desk. I go there at least twice a week, and she is always warm, friendly, and so helpful. She gets to know the patients' families and makes us feel "at home" when we visit.
Negative experience: This place should be shut down! There are roaches, big and small infestations. The staff are RUDE, and the work environment is very hostile. They take terrible care of their residents.
Megan Prema, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We strive to provide excellent customer service and we value your feedback as we'll use this to improve our services to our patients and families. If you'd like to speak with Executive Director about this further, please call (352) 331-3111. Thank you.
Negative experience: As with most Rehab/Nursing Home facilities, they are significantly understaffed! Private pay patients are charged 5 star hotel prices, but receive minimal, and sometimes less than minimal, care! Those without family present to advocate for them are completely forgotten. Those residents who are fortunate to have family present only receive attention, if the family insists on it! Even with family in the room, the “call light” would not be answered at all, unless the family member went to the nurse’s station to request assistance. With no family present, the resident’s needs are completely ignored! They are also not transparent with their billing practices, and they become defensive whenever you request clarification! This is a poorly run facility, that doesn’t seem to have any accountability. We were fortunate to move our loved one out of this facility, and it would be our absolute LAST option, for any future needs.
Lisa,Our service promise is to listen to the needs of our residents and their families. As such, we've passed this on to the care center management team for awareness. Please call our Consulate Cares line at 1-844-921-2273 for follow-up. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: The therapy team is amazing. The staff will go above and beyond for all their residents. Patients make great improvements upon discharge. Therapists stay in constant communication with family and complete family training if needed.
Positive experience: Constructive communication typically gets good results when something isn't right. The people running things care. The night crew, unsupervised, can be difficult. Again, communication is the key. Don't just complain.
We are committed to make sure our team demonstrates our mission each and every day. We will take your feedback into account as we are constantly striving to provide an excellent experience. Thank you for your feedback.
Fantastic experience: This facility has a lot of caring workers who go above and beyond the call of duty. Some changes in department heads have made for positive differences in the building!
Krystal, thank you for your kind words. Our leadership and front line staff are constantly looking for ways to create a legendary patient and family experience.
Positive experience: This facility has taken care of my cousin over the last 2 years . He needs long term care . Under their care his overall physical health has improved . The friendly staff has treated him well and that has improved his quality of life . We appreciate the efforts they put in everyday to make his life better.
Mike, thank you for your kind words! We really appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with us, and we value your opinion.
Negative experience: I had my husband in there for just therapy.. They abused him soon hard. .he ended up with Parkinsons.. What him for over a month he
Janice, we've passed this on to the care center management team for awareness. Please call our Consulate Cares line at 1-844-921-2273 for follow-up. Thank you.
Negative experience: Rude and unprofessional behavior, as mentioned by one reviewer, is one thing, but I question this facility’s ability to rehab a skinned knee. My brother entered rehab because of issues with falling, but he could walk with a walker, feed himself and use his tablet to entertain himself as well as communicate with the outside world via email. After months of rehab, he is now essentially a quadriplegic and was told that this facility could no longer keep him because he wasn’t cooperating with the therapists. Coincidentally, their notification that he would have to leave, coincided with his insurance coverage running out. I pray after surgery on his neck, he may recover some function of his legs and arms, but given these people did nothing over a several week period as his condition worsened, the time factor is against recovery. All this occurred under the cover of Covid while the family could not visit. Stay away from this facility!
Woody, patient and family satisfaction is our top priority, and we take all comments seriously. We invite you to contact us directly at [email protected] to provide us with your phone number so that our Regional VP of Operations can followup with you about your feedback. Thank you.
Negative experience: This place needs to be shut down asap. Do not let any loved ones go here. Let my dad go 5 days with no dialysis. Never gave him his meds. The list goes on and on. Rudest staff ive ever dealt with.
Josh, we value your feedback and take your concerns seriously. We have shared this review with the Executive Director and Corporate management. Please write us at [email protected] with the best way to contact you so we can connect with you directly. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Laura and the staff at Millhopper Medical are fantastic. They helped me recover after a serious automobile accident. I highly recommend their treatments.
Fahimeh, thank you for your kind words. Our leadership and front line staff are constantly looking for ways to create a legendary patient and family experience.
Negative experience: This is a tough call. There were a couple of caregivers that were amazing. They really went out of their way to help us out. Here's the problem: we shouldn't have been able to tell which staff were on by the state of our family member. If the aforementioned angels were not on duty, I could expect my grandmother to be covered in old food, her wheelchair to be covered in food and debris, items to be missing, medication to be administered in whatever manner they felt like (or not at all), no bath given, hair not tended to, undergarment soiled, and bathroom dirty (which is so strange because she was basically bedbound at the end of her life... who's going in there to use the toilet?). Before her inevitable decline, she was taken to the dining room only when someone could be bothered. Otherwise, she waited in her room until the lukewarm food was brought to her at a ridiculously late hour. Family members cleaned every other day because the staff could not be depended upon. Her room was one of the few that generally smelled nice, and was tidied. When we went around with grandma in her wheelchair, we would invariably see call lights flashing for minute after minute after minute, while staff milled in the hallways talking to one another. There were times that people were literally yelling "HELP ME... HELP ME..." during the entire time we were there in the halls, but no one went in to check on the resident. Maybe they always said that, but it was very unnerving. When we called from offsite for emergency reasons (especially at the end, when we were trying to ensure she even ate or saw a doctor), the phone rang and rang with no answer. I say this is tough because, unfortunately, from what I've heard it's the same everywhere. An employee's mother is temporarily at another facility and has been left to wet herself rather than get her call button responded to. Nearly every detailed review of these kinds of places talks about them being dirty and unresponsive. Medication and personal items go missing. This should not be the norm.
Arisu, patient and family satisfaction is our top priority, and we take all comments seriously. We invite you to contact us directly at [email protected] to provide us with your phone number so that our Regional VP of Operations can followup with you about your feedback. Thank you.
Negative experience: I posted this earlier today but don't see it anywhere. I have tried to call my aunt for nearly three weeks now. They won't put the phone where she can reach it so it just rings and rings, then when you try to call their front desk it rings and rings also. My cousin let me know she is ok otherwise I would not even know about my dear family member.
Mary, we understand your frustration and apologize that getting in touch with your desired parties has been challenging. We've shared this with the team and they are aware of your need to speak with someone. Please email us at [email protected] with your contact information so that we can have someone call you directly. Thank you for letting us know.
Negative experience: Horrible place!
chrissy, our service promise is to listen to the needs of our residents and their families. As such, we've passed this on to the care center management team for awareness. Please call our Consulate Cares line at 1-844-921-2273 for follow-up. Thank you.
Negative experience: Please if you can find another facility do not allow your loves to come to this place... they are not attentive to the care and concern of the patients and their family!!!
Pretina Hutchinson We take your feedback seriously and we have shared this with the Executive Director. We invite you to call our Consulate Cares line at 1-844-921-2273 to discuss your experience. Thank you.
Negative experience: They don't have any qualified health professionals & the staff doesn't care or take care of the patients who r in here.
Karen, we are committed to make sure our team demonstrates our mission each and every day. We will take your feedback into account as we are constantly striving to provide an excellent experience. Thank you for your feedback.
Fantastic experience: My grandma has been staying here for about 3 weeks now. Every time I come to visit, I am greeted by warm and friendly staff and a clean environment. Always a 'hello' or 'welcome' by the front desk staff. The nurses always acknowledge us as we take walks. Tracy, who is my Grandma's nurse, is the kindest most helpful person there. He checks on her frequently and provides exceptional service by chatting with us both. I feel very lucky to have her taken care of in such a great environment. Thank you!!
Katie Lundahl Thank you for your kind words! We really appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with us about your grandma's care, and we value your opinion. We will be sharing your review with the team as a way to encourage them to continue to strive for excellence in customer service. As always, if there's anything we can do for you, please contact the Executive Director or Director of Nursing, or your nurse Tracy.
Fantastic experience: Great volunteer location for student because all therapist and nurses teach and respectful of the patients and the students
Marie Rossmiller your words of appreciation make a world of difference and set the tone for our employee's morale.
Fantastic experience: The staff here is incredibly helpful
Mike Nichols Thank you for your kind words! We really appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with us, and we value your opinion. As always, if there's anything we can do for you, please contact the Executive Director or Director of Nursing.
Negative experience: Place is a nightmare. But they all are. Make it obvious you are keeping an eye on the care
We are sorry to hear of your negative past experience. The center is now under NEW leadership and we are working to make positive changes. Should you or your family have the need for our services in the future, please know we are welcome to discuss and share our changes as well as our mission under Aspire Leadership. Thank you.
Negative experience: I wouldn't even give this place a one star. Management (station two) unit manager treats all her staff like there slaves and is very rude and nasty. She makes it impossible to work there. Everyone ends up fired for stupid reasons or quits cus of her.
drew bombs our family of caregivers is our most valuable asset. Have you been in touch with your direct supervisor about your concerns?
Negative experience: terrible place my mother is a resident here and I would not recommend to anyone currently looking for an attorney to deal with these folks. Staff and management are rude and the director Barbara was no help!!!!!!!!! I would give this place 0 stars if I could.
Sarah Miller Resident care is our top priority, and as such, we take all concerns very seriously. We have shared this feedback with the Executive Director and corporate management. Please email us at [email protected] with your direct contact information so that we can address your concerns. Thank you.
Negative experience: My mother was a resident at NFRSC for 18 months, and I have watched this facility go downhill that entire time. Most of the staff is rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. The facility is dirty and smells most of the time. Call bells are not answered. Residents are pretty much on their own, so if assistance is needed, they are out of luck. My mother had several falls while living there, and I attribute it largely to unavailability of staff, and the very cramped quarters of the rooms. I would not recommend this facility to anyone for any reason! Look elsewhere.
Gail Knight we are committed to make sure our team delivers on our customer experience model. Please speak with the Executive Director about this by calling (352) 331-3111 so we can bring resolution to your experience in our care center. Thank you.
Negative experience: Dr. in ER recommended it (he is also the dr. there) and I thought it was part of North Florida Hospital - it is NOT. In the first 6 days there, when requesting a bedpan, was left in a wet bed or worse when no one showed up from 20 min. -1 hour 10 min. Having no advocate but full faculties, I had to get nasty in order to get the nurses to pay attention to me. Finally 3 nurses were assigned to me that came when I buzzed, gave excellent care when assigned, and actually said that they would miss me. My poor roommate had some memory problems, and was constantly antagonistic 24/7, in spite of my trying to do things to help her. I finally transferred myself to a different facility in Gainesville, that in 24 hours got more done than in the 15 days stay here. OH, and the day I left, an HOUR before I left, I was filling out my "Admission Agreement" ...that I re-dated to the date I left. VERY poor service, with most nurses 'processing patients' to get their paychecks. Do NOT recommend.
B Senn We have passed your feedback on to the care center management team. Your concerns are a top priority to us and we are looking into your situation. In order for us to more effectively provide you with updates, please email us at [email protected] or call the ED at (352) 331-3111 so we can find out the best way to get in touch with you directly. Thank you.
Negative experience: NEVER, take your loved one to this place or should I say house of horrors, my grandmother was treated horribly by these people, the CNA staff lack the capacity for compassion, they make snide remarks about the patient's, and their lack of care and concern is laughable at best, I will be making a formal complaint against this company and it's employees forth with, PLEASE if you love your family member DO NOT leave them in this hell hole!
Hi Tristen, We have provided your feedback to the care center and corporate management team. Please let us know the best way for someone to get in touch with you directly so they may discuss your concerns with you. Or, feel free to call the ED at 352-331-3111. Thank you.
