Do you want to join a clinical trial to investigate a possible new medicine that could help reduce cannabis consumption? If so, you may be eligible to take part. All participants will be given either the study drug or a placebo, assessments related to the study, and reimbursement for their time and travel expenses. Contact us to find out more!
Clint had been struggling with addiction for almost thirty years when he chose to get help from CODA. His worst moment, being homeless and separated from his children, motivated him to join the residential treatment program. After a few months and extra outpatient treatment, Clint was well on his way to sobriety with the understanding and help he required to stay sober. Now, Clint has been in recovery for four years and has a job, as well as a home he shares with his two daughters.
At CODA, we are committed to achieving our goal of a world without any stigma, prejudice, discrimination, or any other barriers to recovery.
Coda Gresham Recovery Center: Reviews
Negative experience: Denied a patient due to a protected disability. Has not responded to our requests to file a formal complaint, proceeding by filing at state and federal level.
Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE! PLEASE for the love of god. Go anywhere but here. Staff are unprofessional and argue with clients. Clients bully one another and the counselors/staff don’t do anything about it. People are treated completely different than others (ex: people get written up/consequences for the same things that other people do, but dont get in trouble for). So apparently the rules only apply to certain people. I had a client slander me to staff then go and tell EVERYONE to keep her child away from me which resulted in people looking me up and down, ignoring me, bullying and gossiping about me, and me eventually discharging soon after due to her not having serious consequences because she was white, had a kid, and if she didn’t complete the program- go back to prison. She was about 45 years old while I am less than half her age (22). No adult in their right mind would or should do that to a young adult. Sad childish and embarrassing that she needed to do that for people to feel bad for her and to get some sort of validation. The girls here act like high school and middle schoolers (fight over who was in line first- literally). You get written up over the smallest things, like damn we are human and make mistakes. The curriculum is good, but the environment is dark harsh and honestly triggering. Made me want to go use. I have been to 4 rehabs so far is this is by far the WORST! They have no compassion at all. They won’t even let you use the phone or help you get into another inpatient program so basically you have fend for yourself, but thankfully a doctor helped me call during my visit. You are just a number that they can charge your insurance! Highly recommend VOA!
Negative experience: Mostly ex-cons bragging about how bad they were. Lots of name-calling, swearing and disrespect. You better love Jesus. That is all they talk about in group. Rough crowd. Not a safe, healthy place.
Negative experience: A friend of mine was suppose to admit into residential, mind you they did detox 3 weeks ago and was told they needed to go again but hasn’t used. Then they made the person sit in the curb outside to wait an hour and a half for their ride to come back after turning them away. Wow!
Negative experience: The staff are super unprofessional. They take stuff personally and pick on people they have issues with. I hate this place so much the people are insufferable
Fantastic experience: answer the phone
Fantastic experience: Very nice people
Fantastic experience: I walked in and was seen right away. I am pregnant and was terrified of being judged or getting in trouble, but they immediately made me feel comfortable and by the next day I had started treatment. Iris was the counselor that talked to me and I couldn't ask for anyone sweeter and more understanding. I normally don't write or comment on things, but hopefully this will help encourage even one person that might be too nervous to go in and seek help.
Fantastic experience: I am forever in debt to your compassion grace and understanding! A place of healing and peace!
Fantastic experience: Looking for crystal holt! Anyone who has seen her or knows where she is please have her find me. I’m her brother this was her last known location and we haven’t heard from her in over 6 months.
Positive experience: I think you're super nice
Negative experience: The curriculum was sub par, most of the staff do honestly care and the food was good; though If you want to be challenged to dig deep and deal with serious issues... Probably not the place you want to go.
Fantastic experience: This place was absolutely a miracle. Everyone including the maintenance people were outstanding and dedicated to their job. I was never able to find a treatment center that was able to cater to my needs as far as MAT medications and this place was it. It beats all the extremely expensive treatment centers I've been to by far and I think the main reason is because the heart and soul of everyone there really wants you to be a better human. I absolutely recommend this place over any treatment center in Oregon or the west coast. Also the food was great!
Fantastic experience: I loved it. I have absolutely no complaints but than again I'm not a trouble maker and get along with everybody and easily follow rules so I never had any issue.
Fantastic experience: You need to want to get better. Gresham location way better than clackamas!
Fantastic experience: The staff here really cares; just be patient. There's more to recovery than big textbooks and learning about the brain. Trust the process, participate, be honest and you'll do great.
Negative experience: Dont go here, please seek other help for your struggle. They have no compassion at all.....please stay away. They treat patients like they are not even human. You are just a number that they can charge your insurance. And send you on your way with no worries on their part.
Negative experience: I'm so sorry my significant other decided to go here. This place has bedbugs. The desk workers make fun of you behind your back. The rate of success is abysmal compared to other options. Avoid at all costs.
Positive experience: The staff is pretty decent. Although it is somewhat unprofessional at times. Rules & Regulations seem to change constantly & depending of what staff is on duty you may find that rules fluctuate quite a bit. Too many Queens and not enough worker bees seems to be a problem too. Whoever is on duty likes to think that they are top dog rule maker, so sometimes you just have to go above their head to get things figured out. Also I think that the counselor they are assigned needs to do more actual counseling. It'd be nice if they could take some time with the clients and have a real one on one counseling session. There's just not enough time spent trying to work through issues in a more personalized way for each client. I also think the changes that were made regarding being able to visit your loved one are way too extreme. Not only did they change visiting from two days down to One, but they also cut it down to a 2 hour visit! If anything they should be giving additional time on the "One" day you're allowed, not taking more time away!! Also I should mention that my opinions are directed from the "Men's" side of the center. I haven't had any dealings with the women's side, & from what I understand the Men's side and the women's side are quite a bit different.
Negative experience: Lots of shady people
Negative experience: Unsatisfactory
Fantastic experience: Blessing for saving lives
Positive experience: It is a good treatment place and they teach responsibilities to the Females in the program. It is a very good recovery place. I reccomend it to everyone seeking help.
Fantastic experience: This place saved my sisters life she spent 5 months here . I don't care what these other ratings are if your not ready for treatment and don't work the program then of course you may quit or leave. I was very nervous in the begining of the program worried about housing for my sister afterwards. They guided her on the right direction she left coda with a job, and housing. 10 years of tears worried about my sister are over thanks to this place . Special thanks to the staff for always being nice to talk to during our visits it was a good experience never forgotten
Positive experience: The compassion they have
Fantastic experience: This place has saved my life. If it wasn't hear I probably would not be writing this today thank you coda and all of the counselors and staff you all have truly helped me turn my life around
Fantastic experience: Life-Changer
Negative experience: I see that this place can give that person need to let go of drugs and change your way of life, god give you life to see other can help u chan
Negative experience: A halfway point between jail/prison and the streets. Focus on criminality rather than recovery. The epitome of the Peter principle gone bad. Extreme micro-management at its worst. A bad fit if you have never been a criminal. Resembles a crappy reform school.
Negative experience: Generally a terrible experience Facilities are poorly maintained. My cancer completely forgot I was attending and our meeting fell behind. Completely lost track of one of my USB chargers and broke the case on one of my tablets . They also lost all of my clothes and my blanket as well as my coat so I can not sleep outside now and I don't have a lot of money for a motel. The staff does seem to care, but there is too much on coordination plus the high turnover rate Oh and when I got there, I wanted and was being passed out like candy. There were several people stumbling around, and it was generally a very anti sobriety place
