Thomas Pineiro is a local of Miami who recently obtained his Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine of Health Sciences in 2020. He has worked with a wide range of issues, such as strokes, neurological disorders and amputations due to motor vehicle accidents. Thomas is confident that his knowledge and experience will be a great asset to those striving to regain their independence. He is determined to learn more by taking courses, getting certified and keeping up to date with the most recent evidence-based research.

Thomas creates individualized interventions and treatment plans for each patient to help them achieve their goals. He is fascinated by human biomechanics and loves teaching his patients how to do their daily activities better. He puts his patients' needs first and considers it a privilege to be able to treat them. Thomas is enthusiastic to be part of your recovery process.

Jean Pradel is a qualified Physical Therapist who has been practicing for almost 15 years in an outpatient rehabilitation orthopedic clinic. He is highly experienced in treating spine and extremity issues. He has worked with both children and adults who have orthopedic, congenital, neurological and post-operative functional issues. He has had a lot of success with pediatric patients, particularly through the use of aquatic and hippotherapy treatments.

Jean has used his experience as a personal trainer to add to his therapeutic techniques when working with clients, providing them with a more complete treatment plan. He also has extensive knowledge in caring for athletes who have sports-related injuries.

A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) can be used to evaluate an individual's ability to return to work after a period of medical leave. It can provide information about prognosis and potential job rehabilitation strategies, as well as identify changes to the employee's workload or modifications to the workplace that the employer may be able to make to accommodate a person with a disability or medical condition. FCEs are designed to determine if a worker can continue working in a capacity that is consistent with their skills or abilities prior to the disability or medical condition being diagnosed. The evaluation is conducted by one or more medical professionals, and there are two types of FCEs used by the United States Social Security Administration: the Mental Functional Capacity Evaluation (MFCE) which assesses emotional and mental capacity, and the Physical Functional Capacity Evaluation (PFCE) which evaluates physical functioning.

Research has been conducted to evaluate how accurate Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) are in predicting long-term outcomes for patients, such as whether they will return to work or be permanently disabled. This research has also sought to identify medical and social factors that may influence disability. [3]

FCEs are also used to determine eligibility for disability insurance or benefits if a worker is unable to return to work permanently. A newer FCE model is the World Health Organization's International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health.
