Negative experience: this place is horrible don’t let your love ones come here so if you call them they will tell you that the visitation is 24h but there punishing my family for something we didn’t do so they got us a room so are family could be in there and see her and now there saying we can only have two people in the room but that’s not a rule for anybody else my grandmas dying and there not letting anything slide saying how we messed with the puzzle and game which we did but we had permission by a nurse she said help yourself to games and puzzles only if you pick up the mess after and we did but this one rude nurse is saying we didn’t and we left a big mess like what so now we can all be there for my grandma a today might be her last day so please don’t let anybody you know stay here the only good nurse there was is bri and ik there might be more but she’s the one with the busted ear drums im so grateful for her i can’t say then lady’s name that was giving us problems just watch out for this place

While we cannot go into detail regarding the allegations in your review due to privacy laws, we can confirm that the state licensing agency came to our facility to investigate your complaints relating to your grandmother and found that we did nothing wrong. We wish you and your family the best.
Negative experience: Years after my mom had passed away they sent me a bill for almost two thousand dollars and threatened to evict her from their care. I would have gladly paid to pick her up.

Negative experience: This is the worst nursing home experience my mom & I have ever had, from the get go they had her heavily sedated absolutely no support from the staff, most patients look zombies my mother included it absolutely broke my heart, from the director who was horrible & very rude to the nurses all very unprofessional & no care what so ever pure negligence. I was disgusted by everything about that place it’s more of a prison for the elderly, they are treated with no dignity or respect it should be closed, I wouldn’t recommend this place for my worst enemy. I’m looking into a lawsuit against this absolutely horrific place the elderly should never be treated this way very disappointed and saddened by it all..
Negative experience: My aunt was put in the facility for Alzheimer’s she was good when I went to visit her yesterday her son went by today and I don’t know what the hell they did to her but the picture taken of her and sent to her family was heartbreaking ,she was so drugged up she couldn’t even sit up or walk!! Please don’t take your loved ones to this horrible place, it’s cold and some of the employees are so damn rude ! I feel sorry for my aunt and all the other patients there!!

Fantastic experience: When I came in I was made to feel very welcome by intake and everyone treated me as family. The nurse Kenda, Bre, Shanna, Samantha and tech Brenda Sally and Tang always are there for me and my wife. Everyone from administration to house keeping to kitchen make us feel welcome. We have enjoyed our time at Hillside.

Fantastic experience: Therapy and staff were very professional and treated my mom respectfully. The admission staff worked diligently to help me get insurance approval. VERY HELPFUL and patient! The dining room servers could use some smiles and positive attitudes. I know it’s a difficult job, but we saw very few smiles from that staff. Mattress on bed was not great, but the faculty was very clean and updated with lovely decor.

Fantastic experience: I have felt like the employees were interested my problems and were willing to try and resolve them. The food is not the best but I ate most of it and was satisfied. Breakfast is where there could be the most improvement. I would recommend Hillside Heights to any one. This is the second time I have been here. I was satisfied the first time so that is why I was I ask to come here this time.

Negative experience: My mom was released here for rehab after her hip replacement. We chose this facility because they claim to specialize in memory care—my mom has Alzheimer’s, so that was very important to us. The facility itself is nice, and to be fair, there were several staff members who treated our mom with true compassion and care. Those individuals went above and beyond and absolutely deserve recognition and a raise. Unfortunately, their efforts were overshadowed by the unacceptable actions of others. We had a camera in her room, and on more than one occasion witnessed staff treating her in ways that no family should have to see. One particularly disturbing incident involved Valerie A., who was caught on camera yelling at my mom in the middle of the night while she was confused and scared, calling out because she didn’t know where she was. This is not the level of compassion or care you expect from a facility that advertises expertise in memory care. That situation alone would be enough for concern, but sadly it’s not the only issue we encountered. There are several other examples I could share, but the bottom line is this: while some staff members are truly wonderful, the lack of consistent, respectful care makes it impossible for me to recommend Hillside Heights Rehabilitation to families seeking a safe environment for their loved ones with memory challenges.
Negative experience: I would NOT recommend this place for your loved. They were very incompetent. The released family member was given No help for aftercare or rehabilitation instructions. They kick them out and don't do anything to help the recovery. Family member was there 2 weeks and was given 1 bath by the facility and had been mishandled by the workers...NEVER SEND A LOVED ONE THERE!!!
Fantastic experience: My Mom was a patient at Hillside a few months ago and she said her Nursing and Therapy team were so kind and patient. The facility is always clean and beautiful. Highly recommend Hillside Heights for great care!

Negative experience: Skilled nursing was excellent. But when our mom got in the long-term portion of the building the care was very poor. The staff was very rude didn't even hardly speak to nobody.
Negative experience: I wish I could give ZERO STARS!!! Nothing but problems from day one that my grandma entered long care! They had horrible care never really checked on my grandma among other patients. My grandma was always in same position and had gotten NUMEROUS FOOR DIABETIC ULCERS which had to be referred to ADVANCED WOUND CARE!! Which we weren’t notified until after the fact and one of was almost to the point of AMPUTATION! The staff had snoody atttidues blamed her for “refusing” the changing positing and such… thankful we got her somewhere different
Positive experience: It is a beautiful inviting place!!! At first, I thought I was in a country club and said no I need to go to medical rehab!!!. They were very attentive when Alerted to my medical complications and extreme pain. The Hillside Heights, attending doctor, The director of nursing the Hillside Heights, administrator, the wound ccare, and several most caring CNA’s Followed the Doctor and DN plan to arrest the pain and get me comfortable. It was a very trustful experience for me. I recommend Hillside Heights highly. Once you have identified your particular need with the staff and caretakers I was comfortable. They were very attentive and responsive. Thank you, Hillside Heights.

Fantastic experience: My dad was there for two weeks for Skilled Nursing and therapy. All the staff was kind and attentative. He felt safe and well taken care of. Shout out to Teresa D., Bree, RN and Delayna, CNA.
Negative experience: Do not send your family here. They ignored my Dad after he fell and had a stroke. Kept telling us he was fine.
Fantastic experience: My mom has been well taken care of by the nursing and tech staff. The administration also listens to concerns and acts on them.

Negative experience: This place is terrible, my brother went here trying to get his strength up so he can continue chemo treatments. He had to be on a catheter and it got kinked one day and he called for someone and they didn't come in until an hour and half later, after this happened he went down hill and he passed away on 10/12/2024. Do not take your loved ones here, they do not care at all. I partly blame the facility for his down fall and his death.

Negative experience: Would never recommend. Very short staffed amongst other things. My mom was there after breaking her ankle for physical therapy and while there she was admitted to the hospital due to having trouble breathing. After being discharged from the hospital she was supposed to be transported back to Hillside. Hillside did not take her back. Everyone said and knew she was not well enough to be at home alone. My mom went home while I was at work and I came home to her dead just hours after she got home, this was last night 8-3-24. Had Hillside just taken my mother back to finish her last 10 days, I believe she'd still be alive right now.
Negative experience: My father was in their care he went there to get his hip stronger he rapidly declined when my significant other and I went to visit him he thought the night stand was a chair calling us different names the nurse stated to us this is the best he’s been. He passed we have been trying to get his medical records from the facility and told us they wouldn’t release his records that we would need to get a lawyer in order to get them.
Fantastic experience: During my stay here, I have found everybody is working and communicating as a team. I feel like my needs have been more than met, and I appreciate everybody working to help me get better and stronger in the rehab program. The rehab staff always goes above and beyond. I cannot recommend this facility highly enough. Top notch nurses, and super friendly people from top to bottom

Fantastic experience: Having a family member in any facility is hard but the care and love my family member has received is outstanding. Nurses picked up on early signs that SAVED the life of our family member. The heart that their employees show is amazing. The full team from nurses, CNA’s, dietary, housekeeping, social workers and administration staff has been nothing but a true bless to our family. Thank you is not enough.

Negative experience: My 76 y/o brother passed at this facility on 9.25.23. I had asked the staff many times if they saw a change to let me know so I could come from Dallas to say Goodby. I had been there before during the two and a half weeks he was there and said this face to face. I talked to staff about 11:00 am the day he died and was advised they did not believe he was on his last days. He died around 7:30 that day. Generally this staff was either under staffed and not aware of death and dying symptoms. I have no confidence in this facility. Notice: I have waited to post this eval so as not to be perceived as overly emotional.

I’ve been in the medical field, including senior care for the past 30+ years and I believe this is the cleanest, friendliest, well designed and well managed center of this kind I have ever encountered! Fantastic experience: I am at Hillside Heritage facility for the second time in 5 years. They are a fabulous facility and a beautiful building.
Negative experience: My mother was a resident at Hillsides hights for about 6 months. H She received the worst care hear Not only did the staff not help her thay left her in urine bedding And would do nothing to help with the person that shared the room. She told us the staff would yell at each other at night.
Negative experience: If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The patient care is horrible here! These people do not check on their patients. They act like they cannot help, which is their job. You are Nurses and CNA’s this is your job, to help! You should not feel like a burden whenever you ask for help and these people definitely make you feel that way.

Negative experience: I wouldn't put your loved ones in this facility. They are responsible for the death of my father. I had to administer cpr on my dad because the nurse didn't know what she was doing. The other nurse didn't know how to even open the AED machine. So while I kept administering cpr to try to save my dad's life the people who should have been able to didn't. I live with that memory now and will forever. If they had listened to us in the very beginning, I don't doubt that he would be here with us today. I've called state and no response. I will keep pursuing his death for justice because this can't happen to another resident and family as it has mine. He was dismissed because of his age. Age should never be a reason someone is ignored. I will continue to fight for him and others. The system has to change! It's time!

Negative experience: Staff are rude. No one should be under the care of these people. They left my mom unattended right after surgery for hours. They complained when she would tell them she needed to use the bathroom, meanwhile she can’t even walk. If it weren’t for my sister being here for her no telling how my mom would have been treated. So upset… to think she has to be in here for 2 more weeks.
Positive experience: HH is a very nice place, clean, beautifully decorated, very nice staff. However, while there, my sister experienced loss of many articles of clothing..pajamas, tops, new slippers, etc…. & all of her slacks & shorts were missing the day before her move to another facility! I do her laundry so I don’t think this was HH laundry’s doing. Too bad, a great place otherwise.
Positive experience: After having surgery I went there for rehab. Facility was clean and food was great The occupational and physical therapists were great. There was issues with the nursing staff that I did address. Dont know if it was resolved but overall it worked great for what I needed to get me back home.
Fantastic experience: I am a traveling CNA. I previously worked at this beautiful facility this past weekend and I must say out of the 6 years I’ve been a CNA, this is the BEST facility I have ever worked at! The staff is amazing and the residents are so awesome! Keep up the amazing work!!

Fantastic experience: My mother did rehab at HH for 2 hip surgeries and received excellent care and therapy both times. Long term care became necessary, so of course we chose HH. HH is immaculately clean which was and is a priority. The staff is composed of really special people, who do a job that most of us could not. Any concerns I have had have been addressed ASAP. Thanks to all staff!
Fantastic experience: My mother is on her 2nd stay at Hillside. The staff (although super busy) take very good care of my mother. Initially. My mother did not want to go into any center. But, she loves Hillside. This is a clean place, they serve good food, provide good services and seem to care for their patients.
Negative experience: If you have loved ones here, don't waist your time on nurses that smile and put on a front get them out so they do not die here. My mom is on one blood pressure pill and a heart pill that also lowers the blood pressure. We were lied to and told that a third blood pressure pill was an antibiotic to prevent urinary track infections. The pill was not an antibiotic at all. Instead, it was third blood pressure pill. My mom does not need three blood pressure pills to lower her blood pressure. She is not that sick. All she had was a knee replacement. Also, one of the nurses threatened my mother and told her if she did not take her pills on an empty stomach that she would report my mom to the nurse and say she was ama (against medical advice). That is bulls×××. Since when is it against medical advice to not take pills on an empty stomach? The pill bottles advice on the label not to take medicine on an empty stomach. People sound so stupid sometimes.
