Fantastic experience: After my shoulder replacement surgery, I was anxious about the physical therapy part of my recovery. Greg was knowledgeable and patient at my appointments. He was incredibly supportive each visit. I highly recommend Greg and his expertise and encouragement as I healed.

Fantastic experience: Had seen Dr. Clare Wasmuth a few times due to pain from an ankle surgery. She set me on the right path and actually gave me hope that I would eventually walk without pain and a limp. Granted following through at home is 100% on me but she’s set me up for success. Very knowledgeable, creative, serious and focused, she’s just a great PT. Wish I could keep seeing her but OOP pay was too much for me. With insurance soon I will be back to see her. Fantastic experience: I worked with Clare at the Westport Athletico for a frozen shoulder. My friend had recommended her to me. I would highly recommend her. Very personable, professional, and experienced. My shoulder started feeling better right away and continues to get better with the exercises and stretches she gave me. The staff is very helpful and the atmosphere of the clinic is relaxed and comfortable. They will definitely be my choice again.

Fantastic experience: This is a 5 star review for LaTanya. My partner and I walked into Athletico after leaving SERC pt after a highly uncomfortable and unprofessional interaction with one of their clinicians. We walked in to talk to someone and to see what the vibe of the place was. LaTanya was inviting and personable, made me feel at ease and was extremely knowledgeable with my answering my questions. Was a night and day difference from SERC and she deserves praise.

Fantastic experience: I just wrapped up 5 months of PT for my ankle after a brutal break last summer. Banaka and her team got me from timid weight bearing in a walking boot, over some mentally exhausting plateaus, to finishing my sessions doing round offs. She did dry needling which was intense, but helped loosen up my lower leg and made walking and building up strength again less painful. The whole team is supportive and friendly, they offer flexible scheduling, and the office is clean, organized, and spacious. They’re great, I’m a big fan.

Fantastic experience: Where do I even start? I LOVED my experience at Athletico-Westport. I was lucky to be assigned to Clare Wasmuth, but as I watched and listened to all the therapists as they interacted with other clients, I knew I would have been in good hands with any of them. I was dealing with a shoulder injury that had not improved in several months. Under Clare's direction, my range of motion increased and the pain decreased. Each session entailed hands-on deep tissue massage, then warm ups and stretches for the shoulder, and finally strengthening exercises. The heat at the end was SO comforting! I was privileged to have weeks--even months--of personal training from someone who knew exactly what I needed to do to help myself. It jump started me into a better lifestyle. After years of avoiding strengthening exercises, I am now committed to keeping myself strong. I have always known that I SHOULD do it. Now I WANT to do it. As I spend quality time in my basement with weights and equipment three times every week, I will be thinking of Clare and the team at Athletico. Thanks so much, guys!

I had the immense pleasure of working with Dr. Clare Wasmuth to address pain and functional limitations due to my chronic condition. Her knowledge, expertise, and bedside manner instantly put me at ease. Clare's confidence and compassion renewed my hope in what I could achieve in physical therapy. She actively listened to my concerns and honored my needs each visit. With the ebbs and flows of my chronic condition, Clare adjusted my treatment plan based on my pain and energy levels. Even on my bad days, she was able to work on my body and give me safe, modified exercises to keep me moving. Clare is also certified in dry needling. I benefited greatly from the dry needling treatments we added into my care plan. I left every session feeling better, both physically and emotionally. Fantastic experience: I went to Athletico in Westport after having a TKR and was assigned Dr. Aaron Dugan as my PT. The facility was always clean, organized and the atmosphere there was very friendly. Other patients there seemed happy as well. Dr Aaron was just the best. He was always professional, upbeat, compassionate and motivated me to do my best. I only went 1x a week for financial reasons. Dr Aaron came up with a program for me to do at home on the other days and always asked how my week went. The weeks I was in a lot of pain, he understood, massaged and got me through our sessions. The few times I wasn’t in good spirits, he encouraged me and when my session was over I felt 100% better. Dr Aaron’s attitude was always positive. He’s clearly competent, confident and knowledgeable in his trade. Once my PT was over Dr Aaron developed a program for me to continue gaining full strength in my knee. He made sure I knew I could reach out to him in the future if I needed to. I’m so fortunate to have had Dr Aaron as my PT. He kept me motivated. He helped with my gait and to walk the stairs right over left. He helped me with my balance and just made me hopeful that I’d fully recover. I highly recommend Athletico and especially Dr Aaron. Dr Aaron truly cares about his patients and is committed to our healing.

The progress I’ve seen for myself recovering from a dislocated kneecap was more than I could’ve imagined and happened swiftly. Fantastic experience: I suffered a concussion and was TERRIFIED to find that my ability to focus my eyes was completely gone as well as my ability to keep myself balanced. I felt extremely overwhelmed and depressed that it was not resolving by itself. I had always taken clear vision for granted. My neurologist recommended I start seeing Banaka for vestibular therapy. At that point, I was skeptical that there would be any improvement. However, on the very first visit, Banaka repeatedly reassured me with a thorough, easy-to-understand explanation of my injury. Her education, experience and expertise were immediately evident. I left that first appointment comforted and more hopeful than I had felt since the accident. My hopes were not misplaced!! Throughout my treatment I had very hard patches, but Banaka patiently kept me motivated and was always ready to reinforce my treatment by pointing out my progress. During the course of my treatment, it was my pleasure to work with all of the staff, not just Banaka. It was truly the highlight of my day. Kim at the front desk is amazing and handled all my scheduling, insurance and doctor interaction in a proactive way so I never had to worry about any issues issues and could focus on just my healing. Kim is on it! The aides that are there to assist were well-trained to help during the exercises, but the bonus was that they all had an encouraging, enthusiastic and empathetic way of assisting. And yes I enjoy alliteration :) I was in often and eventually came to know them all. I was treated like family--not just as a project to help with a dollar sign attached to me. I noticed that all the patients were treated this way. That really set this place above the status of adequate and put them into the category of EXTRAORDINARY. If you are looking for treatment, Athletico is the only place to go!

Fantastic experience: I suffered from a pretty bad concussion in March of this year and after my neurologist suggested, I started vestibular therapy with Banaka Okwuone. She really brought my quality of life to a new level. I can honestly say that she pushed me to overcome every obstacle related to my concussion and brought me to a place where now I can manage any future symptoms with the tools she has given me. As unpleasant as being concussed is, I’m so grateful to have had someone like Banaka help me navigate and I know I’ll always have Athletico to fall back on if the need arises in the future. Added pictures of some of the equipment. Oh, they play the best music for while you are doing your thing. And all of the staff is incredibly nice!!

I went to Banaka post c-section for Pelvic Floor PT, not really understanding what all that entailed or if I really even needed it. She was very detail oriented and explained everything. We went through a series of tests and determined there was definitely some things that could use work. I met with her twice a week and I am very happy with the results. I’m definitely much stronger than when I went in and know what I need to continue to do to progress healing and strengthening my pelvic floor.

Fantastic experience: The best part? Having Aaron Dugan as my physical therapist. He is the best! I enjoyed learning to improve my balance, strengthen my muscles prior to surgery and knowing that many of the activities and exercises we used did not require extremely fancy equipment. With online exercise lists and a little training, I was able to replicate most of the exercises as homework, which is essential to progressing toward healing. Aaron was also sensitive to my condition and was able to adjust our workouts to match my capabilities depending on how sore I felt and kept me moving and progressing. I am very confident in the PT services that Athletico provides and will continue to choose Athletico in Westport as my place for physical therapy.

Fantastic experience: AMAZING!!!! I cant express just how happy I am with my Physical Therapist Clare. Being just the ripe young age of *clears throat* 29 (give or take a few) and hearing a diagnosis of 'patellar tendinitis' was scarier than an haircut from Edward Scissorhands. I was worried that the pain I was feeling in my knees was irreversible. As someone who loves activities like dancing, hiking and running, I was starting to feel pretty discouraged and questioned if I'd be abled to partake in those activities anymore. Clare immediately assured me that this was treatable and with the right exercise and muscle engagement I will improve. She was informative, friendly and encourageing. She always asks how I'm doing and more than just pleasant conversation, she's truly gotten to know me. Its easy to trust a providers care for you when they actually show genuine interest in you. In fact, the same compliment can be given to the entire staff! Fast forward 2 months later I am feeling much better. Knee pain has SIGNIFICANTLY decreased and Im feeling more empowered than ever. We may not be able to turn back the hands of time but there is absolutely something to be said about the youthfulness that magically appears when you feel stronger, healthier, faster, and PAIN FREE. Thank You Clare and Thank You to the entire staff for all the help, friendliness and compassion I see everyone having for the patients. We are all so grateful that each of you chose this wonderful profession because you're all great at what you do! I think Athletico is the 'Bees Knees'...but without the whole tendinitis thing; their knees are perfect. 10/10 recommend.

Dr. Banaka is without a doubt the most knowledgeable and effective therapist I've ever had the privilege to work with. She's incredibly intuitive and attentive, a lovely human being, and super fun to be around. In fact, the whole team at Athletico Westport makes me feel like a genuine friend - an amazing group of folks I'm lucky to spend a couple days a week with.

Madelyn and Grace, some of the rehab aides, were very patient and helped me with any questions I had and always making sure I was comfortable. I noticed Banaka, the clinic’s manager, is a great leader for this team at the Westport clinic.
