Killeen Nursing and Rehabilitation: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Good staff great care great people they really are the best at what they do for this cause I give them a awesomeness rating of awesomeness to 100 power x100. Love them so much. Ty so much.
Fantastic experience: Good care and great food !
Negative experience: Worst place ever
Negative experience: My Husband has been there for a week therapie has not done a thing he has not been on his feet and it's been over a week since hip surgery The Head nurse is great takes time to give care some CNA spend to much time on there phone
Negative experience: I am new to TX but I am not new to facilities that utilize pick up shift workers. I picked up a shift. It started out with a little back and forth in the text messages with an unknown individual about computer access. Simple things like computer access and basic knowledge should be printed and posted for the healthcare provider. I strongly advise not to pick up shifts at this place. No regard or appreciation for you filling in the gaps. When the new Federal Law hits TX regarding provider to patient ratio I can assure everyone you would not want to be at this place.
Negative experience: Please, whatever you do, if you love and cherish your loved one(s), avoid this facility at all costs! If you’re looking for a facility that practices unprofessionalism and neglect, then Killeen Nursing and Rehabilitation is the place for you. With that said, I do give 5 stars to the receptionist. She is the only professional person employed here!
Negative experience: Viveca Henry is the only best staff here which is sad does she work by herself? Overall the quality is not very good Wait time is long about 1hr Rest of the aids are okay The food is average always cold I do not recommend this facility The only good review I can say is it very clean.
Negative experience: The staff here are very miserable people ADON Annie is a liar and blatantly too. I will not go back here ever again. Have the nerve to block me when I told her about her own staff. Miserable people and incompetent staff here.
Negative experience: This is the worst place ever if you truly love the person you are sending here you need to look around more the facility itself is very nice but the workers are trash they did my dad so wrong and after he had to go to the hospital several times I started complaining called the unbudsman and made several reports they did an investigation and the facility was fined don't take my word for it ask them yourself and see how they act please think twice about this place
Negative experience: Do not send your loved ones here! I wouldn't let my enemies go here!! They are incompetent as healthcare professionals and negligent when it comes to the patients. Another healthcare provider had to file an Adult Protective Services complaint against them due to their inadequate care of my father. This facility should be closed!
Negative experience: The receptionist that answers the phone does not sound pleasant at all!
Negative experience: I dont know whats going on but this facility is Filthy!! the Rugs and Floors are Nasty. The Staff had always been pleasant but the facilities inside and out need some care. Visitors bathroom also needs care. no toilet paper and its filthy. plz take pride in your work space. These people that are using this place to live and recover deserve the best!
Fantastic experience: My wife spent a month and a half at this location, The nurses and the staff were very attentive and experienced on the treatment that every person received. They took care of checking their vital signs and giving them their medication as instructed by doctors. The place is very clean and neat. I highly recommend this place! We were totally satisfied with the care my wife received! Thanks for all you did for her. She is totally recovered!
Negative experience: This has to be one of the WORST job I’ve ever had in my entire life. Managers/administrators are absolutely horrible, patient care is horrible and PAY IS HORRIBLE. 0/10 would never recommend. *Do not bring your family members here they will not be taken care of properly *
Fantastic experience: On behalf of former resident John Newton: You expect to be treated nicely - good, then you treat them well also! Engagement is the key. Ask, you’ll get their attention. I was there nearly a month and the staff were kind and very professional.
Positive experience: I gave it three stars only because of the select nursing that cared for my Mom.Mrs.Shirley Johnson Doctors 0 stars they do not communicate to the family and I have medical and Duable power of Attorney over my Mom.Her sugar was running high they lie and said she was getting it from other patients. When it was the nursing staff and the agency helped that they called in.She suppose restriction that's not fo beingbeing followed
Fantastic experience: The Skilled Professional Marketing Director Business Liasion Denise Ford is a magnificent representation of the Core Values of the Killeen Nursing and Rehabilitation located on 5000 Thayer Drive, Killeen Tx 76549. Mrs. Ford demonstrates the Core Values of Moral Integrity, Ethics, Social Courage, Creative Courage, Altruism, Perseverance, and Exemplary professionalism. Denise engages in dual perspective, she attempts to find out what is most and more important to the client, before informing the client what is important to her. The above subject professional visited my mother most swiftly and effectively after her work hours, and brought her a gift and me a gift as well, to welcome my mother into eventually becoming a new family member to the sensational community of the Killeen Nursing and Rehabilitation. Director Ford educated my mother and me on the rules, regulations, financial assistance, social events long-term care, short-term care, therapy rehab methods, community service, and social activity of therapeutic healing that is administered at the fantastic community of Killeen Nursing and Rehabilitation. I would highly recommend the Executive Leadership award to Denise Ford with a meritorious pay increase, job promotion, employee of the year award, and 6 weeks of paid vacation. Director Ford is the personification of excellence in achievement. Mrs. Ford called and emailed a myriad amount of Medical Professionals to obtain the documentation that my mother needs to obtain her therapy needs.
Negative experience: Phone calls fall upon deaf ears their system sucks...
Negative experience: I really wanted to leave a higher review but I can't. I will say the OT and PT are amazing. Some of the nursing staff are great. Here's the major problem...my dad was scheduled to come home and two days before he caught COVID in the nursing home. They put him in isolation for what would be 10 days. I have no idea what COVID treatments my dad got. Yesterday, my dad was rushed to the hospital because he had gone three days without drinking, eating or talking! He was dehydrated because no one made sure he was drinking. THREE DAYS WITH NO WATER!!...he's lucky to be alive. You can't just drop meals off to an elderly patient and leave. You have to make sure they are eating and drinking as well. What happened to my dad is neglect and the elderly should never experience this level of neglect...especially our veterans.
Negative experience: This place is HORRIBLE!!!!! Horrible to live there and work there. They are severely understaffed and very rude to the people who do show up! Patients are left dirty for hours! The administration does nothing to help, there’s never any supplies or anything. I wouldn’t let my dog live at this place, let alone a human being. It needs to be SHUT DOWN! Absolutely horrible! And I don’t even know how they have above three starts, they have to be writing their own reviews because everyone complains about this place!
Negative experience: If I could do negative stars I would. This facility is unsafe and they do not communicate with family. My father in law requires dialysis and they did not make sure he had this done. The nursing staff never answers when you have a concern. Only visiting hours are during normal business hours so we cannot lay eyes on him. The director was left a few messages and never returned call. Going to make a formal complaint with the state since they are out of compliance with arranging and facilitating dialysis for him.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, happy residents!
Negative experience: Avoid this place at all costs. Called in to ask a question and was given the most rude and disgusting service of my life.
Negative experience: 0.0 stars. Administration is terrible, they lack professionalism and any people skills. My wife filled out all of the required paperwork and after paying out of pocket for 2 months she was told they lost all of the Medicaid information that was given to them for review. Alyssa S. Is the only staff member that we encountered that would communicate and help my wife during these trying times. Alyssa went above and beyond. We pulled my mother in law out of there after a few weeks and having to find another facility. A difficult life decision made more difficult by an unprofessional office staff.
Negative experience: One of the 5 star reviews here is from Wanetta Vaughan. She works there as a Social Worker (I reported the conflict of interest). I don't know about the other reviewers. Wanetta is also one of the reasons that -- among the several facilities I've placed my father in as his needs have changed -- Killeen Nursing is the worst. A few examples: I placed 5 phone calls to Wanetta over a 4 week period. Not one of those phone calls was ever returned. My father has been 'trapped' at Killeen due to Covid for over a year. I only just recently got my very first email from Wanetta, ever, and she's supposed to be the point person and account manager for his care. I reported Wanetta to the Director of Nursing (who quit) and the facility director, but they simply do not care. Beyond Wanetta's incompetence, it's hard to tell what goes on inside this facility during the Covid lockdown, but the outward signs are not good. I usually find my father to be unshaven with very long fingernails. I supply CBD oil, which is supposed to be tracked and administered like his prescription medications, but I can tell from the oil usage rates that Nursing is not administering his CBD oil according to the plan prescribed by his doctor. The list of symptoms of Killeen Nursing being a terrible facility goes on and on. Send your loved one anywhere else. Update: After finally being able to move my father to another facility, he gained 11 pounds in a little over 3 weeks. On top of everything else, they were basically starving him.
Negative experience: Fires people saying they are late but they are 20 to 30 minutes early
Negative experience: Unacceptable staff response. My wife had to wait more than 30 minutes and my calling the nursing Station to get someone to check on her.
Negative experience: I don’t even want to give this place a quarter of a star! My mother was in there for most of August, never had a bath her hair was matted and greasy, all of her clothes were dirty, and she was sent out with someone else’s clothing! Mind you, I did not NOT put her here, I live in another state and came to get her after my brother wand his wife dumped her here. Family members called daily to speak to a nurse or someone but the phone would ring more than 50 times and no one ever answered! If you have a ounce of compassion for your loved one DO NOT put them in this awful institution!
Positive experience: This is her daughter POW and I have no comment at this time. Accept the stealing of clothes, lack of concern for the patients and the lying nurses, and non return calling administration
Negative experience: There is a lot I could say good and bad. I will just say to family members do your research on all facilities in the area before choosing the first facility you find. I will not stoop down to the petty remarks of Riss Estes.
Positive experience: They're taking care of my mom. Stage 4 brain cancer. GLIOBLASTOMA..it shows no mercy on my MOOMIE
Negative experience: Dont judge a book by its cover. This place has a great appearance and the grass seems greener on the other side here, however looks can be deceiving. The corporate office are disassociated to the needs of their staff and residents.
Negative experience: If you want your family member ignored when they need to use the restroom, yelled at by the staff, and lied about their assistance they did not provide, this the place for you. Run! Don't let the newness attract you. No one deserves to be treated less then they deserve, especially when your paying for the care.
Negative experience: I pray for those old people there, God is watching , He is alive and see everything.
Negative experience: My name is Hope Ransom. My father was here twice. Both times I had MAJOR issues. Visit my fb and youtube page so you can hear the Administrator Dennis Baker make a false 911 call on me simply for requesting my father's medical records and asking for the company's policy. (fb and yt "immortal portal" There is also a part 2 where the police came in with the administrator Dennis Baker as he continued to lie to the police. Be sure to like, listen and share. You could be next. CHECK OUT BOTH VIDEOS ON MY FB PAGE "IMMORTAL PORTAL" The camera was hidden, he didn't know that he was being recorded.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place, great staff and excellent rehab services
Positive experience: The rating of 3.8 does not do this facility justice, I find it better there is no perfect place. I do find this place way above average, I find it good for the younger people who need long term care as well senior family members. This place has all things were nobody should be bored, it even has rehab come and check it out for your self.
Positive experience: Therapy Staff changes lives!
Fantastic experience: Great facility and staff. My husband spent 6 weeks on the rehab floor and everyone was friendly and helpful. The heads of each department made contact with us and informed us of options available to us. They provided us with transportation to doctor visits to Scott and White in Temple. I couldn't have asked for better care for my husband during his rehab. The head of the nutrition department met with us and checked on my husbands likes and dislikes in food choices to make sure he would be satisfied with his meals. I would recommend Killeen Nursing and Rehab to anyone needing a professional and friendly center.
Fantastic experience: As the Administrator, this is the most beautiful Nursing facility I have ever seen, inside and out. Staff is professional, friendly and caring. Dietary staff makes meals accommodating to each resident that is really good! Therapy is spectacular. I highly recommend Killeen Nursing and Rehabilitation for skilled nursing or long term care.
Positive experience: Fall out of bed on his third night. Had signed papers to get some kind of rails. Was called about 10:00pm. My daughter and I decided to go and check on him. He wasn’t making since with his words and his eyes looked different. Nurse came down and checked on him. We told her about the eyes. She said she would call the doctor AGAIN. We left about midnight. Told them to call after the doctor called them back. Got a call back about 2:30 a.m. and they were sending him to the emergency room. He spent the night there. Had a UT. Signed him out for the weekend to see if I was able to take care of him. When we get back his recliner was missing. No one should have gone in his room and taken anything. No one knew were it went. Then I was told “he didn’t use it “. Told her yes he did. Stop by late one night and everyone was setting in the visiting place by the nurses station. Some days the buzzer at the nurses station would be going off and no one was around. Something it would take someone over half an hour to answer a call. Some of the patients would go into other patients rooms. PT was great and there were some nurses that would go out of their way to help. I could go on but I think I have ranted enough.
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff! Best place in town
Fantastic experience: Amazing place... deserves five stars..the whole staff including everyone is extremely friendly and helpful..every needs met before I ask..I love it here.. truly blessed by this place.. recommend a visit and come see for yourself...the gift shop is so nice and the person that runs it is so friendly..the administrator and admissions and all the staff has made this beautiful place a home for me and I am very happy to call this place home
Fantastic experience: Great place! Loving staff.
Fantastic experience: Awesome Therapy Department, Nursing Dept and Beautiful Facility with Beautician Weekly and Gift Store.
Negative experience: The worst customer service from nurses and management. Nothing is ever done as they say. My mother never received her medications the way she should. She rarely received water on a daily and got a UTI. They leave the call light on for over 30 minutes or more while staff is outside the room talking, no exaggeration. I wouldn’t bring my dog there for care.
Negative experience: Great nurses slop for food and administrators lack people skills.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful professional clean and friendly. Mom feels great. Thank you staff.
Fantastic experience: My mom stayed here for five weeks following surgery for a broken femur. She did PT and OT Mon-Fri, sometimes twice a day. This review is for rehab patients (not full-time residents). The staff is great. Everyone was very friendly and treated her well. She got on great with her therapists, the nursing staff and the cleaning staff. The PT/OT was also awesome. After she arrived, therapists talked with her in great detail about limitations and goals. She was not able to move herself out of bed when she first arrived. The therapy was consistent and she made great progress. The food was so-so. One issue was not having condiments, such as a roll or toast but with no butter or jam. A burger with no ketchup. There were some days when my mom said it was good, but not often. This place is very new, so it is clean and inviting. Plenty of activities inside the home, and other things for people to do scheduled through a social/activities director. I cannot compare it to other rehab places in the area, but I recommend it.
Fantastic experience: By far the most beautiful facility in the region, staffed by the most caring people, from the nursing staff to the kitchen, and everyone in between, the heart of killeen nursing & rehab sets this place apart from any other.
Fantastic experience: Great place
Negative experience: This place should just be considered a nursing home. Rehabilitation is not something they should and are probably not even capable of. My grandpa was here and should have never been accepted as a patient. This place looks beautiful from the outside but not enough supplies, staff and experience to take care of him. Moved him to another Rehab Center in another city. Definitely worth it. He is doing a million times better there in the same amount of time.
