Central Texas Sport And Spine Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: For over 10yrs; the only place I would allow with my pain management. Any treatment needed will only come after careful, professional evaluation. Patient heath is clearly personal with them. Staff are all warm, caring and approachable. Can say more but I hope you get the point.
Negative experience: Sport & Spine sent me a letter to conclude our relationship. I do agree but when I told you I was on my last of medication and needed a pre authorization that must come from you and it took 9 days to get it done, it was no easy task as Dr, marsh is never available, and staff can fall behind on patient care as they did I called 4 times as has insurance and pharmacy to get your staff to get a pre authorization that usually takes 2 or 3 days took 9 days and yes I got pushy because someone dropped the ball big times on your staff. So after 9 days you get it done and took all of 2hrs once someone actually figured out they didn't do what was asked of them 9 days earlier.. so if patients complain this is what you do drop them, and your a professional pain doctor, wow.. I will look for another as you have dropped me as in your letter that also says, i will need further medical attention , but by another .. folks don't file a complaint to them or to insurance or Medicare because them dropping the ball on a patient is obviously ok to them...
Fantastic experience: Had my first initial appointment with PA Vanderpool and she was amazing she listened to all my concerns and was very helpful on tips to help my situation, I greatly appreciated how she was very thorough and didn't dismiss my concerns. Prior also had my first consult with Dr Marsh and as well very attentive to my concerns and pain he provided treatment and will say my pain has definitely decreased definitely overall felt like I was listened to and not just pushed aside.
Fantastic experience: Don't know yet
Fantastic experience: Staff was amazing. Everything was amazing. The doctor was amazing. I don’t understand why people are so negative with these comments if there’s a wait time you can either be patient or reschedule yourself don’t put it out on them as they purposely wanted you to wait. They probably overbooked because they get lots of cancellations/reschedules. Plus I don’t like how people always say”My appointment was 15 minutes ago. I had to wait a hour” YOU can’t rush medical if you were rush, you wouldn’t be left a review saying that “you weren’t treated professionally or you were rushed” sick of people who think they’re entitled, like if you’re not gonna be patient with people treating you might as will not go to the doctors office and deal with your issue by yourself. 10/10 Front staff was very welcoming and amazing(oh, and also for that person that said that got offended for using their first name, the doctor use my first name and there’s nothing wrong with it,get over it )
Positive experience: the clinic staff and doctors are great. I would recommend this clinic, very professional
Fantastic experience: i was involved in a car accident a few month ago, a man rear ended me going about 35. i had terrible pains in my neck and head aches for the next couple of days, until i found Dr. Thornburg. He explained to me what was causing the pain in my neck and my head aches. i was nervous about having work done on my neck but Dr. Thornburg was extremely patient and kind. i am happy to say because of him i am back to normal and feel great! Thanks Central Sport and spine!
Fantastic experience: Dr marsh has helped my mom with her arthritis and scoliosis for the last six years. He knows where to treat with epidurals and RFA to relieve your pain. He has kept my mother from having to be in a wheelchair. She has degenerative, arthritis and scoliosis. She feels so much better once he has given her treatment. If Your having pain from arthritis or scoliosis Central Texas Sport And Spine are The people to visit. Thank you Dr. marsh and Mrs. Vandepoel his nurse assistant they’re very helpful and thank you so much for helping my mother.. and keeping her out of pain everyone seems to be very nice there. If you’re in critical pain, you must see Dr. marsh he’s great.
Fantastic experience: Best medical service I've received the staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful with anything.
Negative experience: Got to my appointment 20 minutes prior, got checked in, and waited. 15 minutes past my appointment came and I still wasn't called back, so I walked up and asked what's going on. I was then told Dr Beth is running behind, okay cool I get that. An hour pass my appointment, and I'm still waiting. A full hour and still haven't been called back is beyond ridiculous, if you're that behind, you should reschedule people or not overbook yourself that you can't see people at their scheduled appointments. This also isn't the first time waiting a ridiculous amount of time.
Fantastic experience: Amazing service and detailed and knowledgeable staff. Dr Steve Marsh did a great job diagnosing and setting up imaging. I was able to know if i would need surgery, did not, and how i would recover, well done to the entire team. Thank you all.
Fantastic experience: I've been going to Central Texas Sport and Spine five + years and I will tell you without a doubt Dr Marsh and Dr Vanderpool and the entire staffing are awesome. I have and unbelievable amount of relief from my back pain. It would a horrible life for me without their wonderful help. I totally recommend them without question. Got chronic pain, it's the best in Central Texas for sure.
Negative experience: Prepare to wait, and wait, and wait beyond your appointment time! It's all about money to them. They'll make you feel better (sometimes)...until your next appointment, then you will wait, wait, wait again. Instead of pain management, it should be called money management. From you and your insurance company's pocket to theirs.
Fantastic experience: I have been going for a couple years now. They have explained everything they have ever done. Awesome staff, Dr. Marsh is an awesome guy. Highly recommend. They help with paperwork and explain all the ins and outs of it all. I continue to go to this day.
Fantastic experience: Upon arrival, I was in a great amount of pain. Within 24 hours of my first injection, for the first time in as long as I remember, I was able to focus on things other than being in constant pain. Dr. Marsh is the first pain management DO I have ever met that is actually concerned about the well-being of his patients. He knows what he is doing; I would send my friends/family to him in a heartbeat, God forbid they ever have similar problems as me.
Negative experience: Great treatment as far as medical care. As far as seeing the doctor, I’ve waited at least an hour each time. This is horrible and the seat they leave for you to wait on make it worse. As a spinal/ pain management clinic you would think a they would have more back friendly chairs to wait in if they are going to have you wait that long. When I ask for a refund on the money from a prior missed appointment. They said there was nothing they can do. So the doctors time is valued but mine is not. To make matters worse Doc comes and says “I have time if you have time”. I was already waiting over an hour so it seemed like she was taunting me about it. Also they called me by my first name which I think is unprofessional. I mean if we were close enough to be on a first name bases I should have been seen sooner! A simple “Sir, the doctor is running late but she’ll be right with you” would have been courteous. Instead 1 nurse in the back was busy on her phone 3 nurses up front gossiping like school girls and 1 actively working assisting patient that were leaving. What I learned today? 1. Hypocrisy: Their philosophy “You pay me for the time you missed but I’m not going to pay you for the time I missed” 2. Lack of Respect: What professional calls you by your first name and treats you with such disregard? 3. Attention to detail: Those nurses knew there were patients in those rooms and should have either; A. Reminded the doctor B. Got with the patient to keep them informed that the doctors running late. All I could think about is where the doctor at? Ugh my back hurt so bad. 3. Lack of Comfort: The chairs in the waiting room are so uncomfortable for what that clinic is. I expected this from the VA but not from an office like this. And no this wasn’t the first time its happened so this was my final straw.
Fantastic experience: This was my first visit with Dr. Marsh. No other doctor has ever taken the time to really listen and assess my issue. Not only did he listen to my concerns, but very quickly provided an action plan to treat my pain. He and his nurse were very caring and thoughtful. Dr. Marsh was thorough with his explanations and offered comfort to my concerns. I will surely continue to seek his guidance in the future.
Fantastic experience: The most caring doctor ive met, also always straight to the point, miss foster is the best np ive ever met,the rest of the staff is amazing also,Dr.marsh has been genuine caring person after my failed back surgeries
Fantastic experience: Dr. Marsh and his PA Foster are some of the best out there. I went there in 2014 and they took such good care of me. I returned to Central Texas in 2019 and quickly returned to them for care. They promptly remembered who I was and continued the care that I had been missing from my Kansas Doctor. Not only do both Dr. Marsh and Foster truly care about their patients immediate care, they also look forward to long term relief. I genuinely feel like I'm cared for. The front desk staff is wonderful as well! As long as I'm in Texas, I will go to Dr. Marsh for care. I 100% recommend them and always will.
Fantastic experience: Ive been seeing Dr Marsh for almost a year and he work so much to help me with my cronic pain is excellent like his PA Ms Vanderpool!
Fantastic experience: Very professional and very people friendly
Negative experience: This place is horribly rude. My appointment was at 10 and I didn't get seen until 10:45. When I mentioned this to the front desk I was told it was out of her hands. Then the assistant tired to bully me into more steroid injections, that I've already had at another place. She said she would do it in another area. I wanted to see the results of my MRI but the "system was down" BS! You should be able to burn that information or save it. I have a strong feeling she didn't even look at it cause she didn't know about the surgeryI had that definitely shows up on an MRI. When I told her that I don't want injections due to the FACT that they are not FDA approved since September 24 2017. She told me there wasn't anything else she could do and that Tricare wouldn't help me move forward with my care unless I got more injections. More nonsense . I was in such shock I made an appointment. I'm cancelling it! I'm just not comfortable with the care at this place. I no longer wish to be a ginny pig. All they care about is money. They are really harming people and taking Tricare money. Rude and uncaring!
Fantastic experience: Staff truely professionals. Great for your needs with all pain levels...
Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Dr Marsh for almost 15 years. His staff has changed several times all have been professional and courteous. Dr Marsh is always attentive and really listens to his patients. He truly cares. I am truly scared of needles but he puts me at ease, as much as possible, before each procedure. I will not allow any other doctor to stick a needle in my spine. If all you are looking for is pain meds you might want to look some where else. Dr Marsh does not pass them out like they're candy.
Fantastic experience: Because they are nice and they try to understand your fears.
Fantastic experience: I think Dr Marsh is a wonderful Dr.He is very careing about his patients. And he takes the time to listen .
Negative experience: Dr Marsh refused to help me because he said that I violated the contract due to me having to go to the ER for shingles even after I called and was told by HIS staff that it was ok since it was at the ER and it wasn’t medication that I was already being prescribed so I drove 3 hours for NO reason and was accused of something I didn’t do!!!!
Fantastic experience: Like him slot great staff, Electro stim and injections. Only part down fall is they never answer the phons
Fantastic experience: Dr. Marsh really knows his stuff. I went to him in severe pain from my sciatic nerve that no other doctor has been able to help me with (I seriously can barely walk) and I walked out of his office feeling absolutely great. I read some other reviews on here that were not very good, which made me sceptical, but I honestly think those reviews are confused on which doctor they went to. This is Dr. Marsh's office and he is the only doctor there. The staff was very friendly and they did care that I was in pain. In fact, they squeezed me in when they didn't have an opening because I told the lady on the phone how bad of shape I was in. Also, I am self pay (no insurance) and they worked with me on that too. If you are in pain, I highly recommend you give Dr. Marsh a try (especially if you are having sciatic pain!). For those of you who might be nervous about getting an injection: I was really worried about how bad it was going to hurt, because I have heard people say "it hurts really bad"; it honestly did not hurt. It was a little discomfort, but overall it felt like any other shot, and in my opinion it was easier than getting one in your arm. I hope this helps conquer any one's fear who was nervous about getting injections or Dr. Marsh's practice. I feel better than I have in years!
Negative experience: This place doesn't care if you're in pain. They'll just tell you to grow up and get over it. I've never been to such a place where the ER was the only option because they won't help you.
Negative experience: Female Physician Assistant, horrible. Feels like money hungry for my tricare money. Only resolution to pain is injections even after nasty side effects. Complete regret. veteran
Negative experience: These people that work there are rude and very ignorant, they will lie to you about there test results, I would not recommend them to anyone who is in serious pain, they treat you like a criminal, USAF veteran
