Fantastic experience: My experience with Jimmie Sue was amazing. She was kind and very supportive, I knew I was in the right place. The services they offer are a blessing. I recently lost my job. My pregnancy was not planned. I’m so nervous about my first pregnancy. They reassured me that I’m not alone. I can’t wait to attend the parenting classes. The energy as soon as you enter the building…. Welcoming. I love the calming music. The wonderful ladies at the front desk are very entertaining. They did not judge me for my hormonal crying fits . I’m so grateful for the resources they shared with me. I honestly feel much better about this pregnancy than before I found this place. Thank you to all the volunteers!!!!

Negative experience: They’re nice people I guess but they are Christian based and if that’s not you I would stay away I felt really uncomfortable the whole time, after they asked me what religion I was and I said I don’t wanna talk about it I was told well I hope you can turn to Jesus Christ here’s a list of churches that will love you and pray for you and I found that very triggering. The ultrasound lady was nice I guess but she also made me uncomfortable asking me personal questions. This place wasn’t for me but it might work for someone else.

Negative experience: They are welcoming and all but the experience itself was really weird and uncomfortable. I understand the organization is christian based. I was asked if i needed spiritual support which i respectfully responded “not at the moment” to. The lady went ahead and prayed for me regardless of my answer and said she really wants to see me come to her church.. whole thing just felt very pushy. some of the questions they ask at intake is super invasive as well. Why do you have to know if i had STD, and why do you have to know answers to all these medical questions? I felt like i was being interrogated. There was no explanation beforehand about why they need such sensitive informations on the first visit. And the intake lady hands me a paper asking me to rate her but on the sheet i need to put my name on it. How do you expect an honest review when its not anonymous. I have found other organization to help me with my pregnancy and won’t be coming back.

Negative experience: I will not go here ever again , the lady I talked to her name was Debbie and she was rude , she basically was telling me that I was going to hell for decisions I make in my life. You can’t force religion or anything else on someone. No sin is greater than the next , no one in life is perfect so no one has the right to judge me BUT GOD …. Will never go there again.

Fantastic experience: I have done repair work at this center. Each time I’m there I am struck by the peace and joy of the people who work there. I know several of the volunteers, and I can honestly say they sincerely want to help anyone who walks through the door with information and support. They are not there to TELL clients what to do, but to give them options and information to consider. They give mothers baby supplies too. How great! It is a safe loving place.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have been partners with the Hope PC since it first opened in Temple with just one center. It has grown to three centers, all staffed by amazing trained counselors and volunteers. Their organization serves women in crisis, and supports families at every stage -from first confirmation of pregnancy through tests and ultrasounds, to parenting classes and community support for the family after the birth of the child. They offer free maternity and children, all kinds of baby essentials, including baby beds, strollers and car seats. Most of all , they offer loving friendship and support for mothers and fathers. For parents who have gone through an abortion, there is also an excellent ministry for working through the recovery process in a safe place. We have taught parenting classes at the Killeen Center, and served on the board of directors. This is an excellent resource for families, that is fully supported by voluntary donations. No judgement , just kindness and assistance.

Negative experience: Although I do believe they provide good resources for women who need it, I was extremely uncomfortable the entire time. I understood this was a Christian faith based environment. What I did not fathom was the possibility of them trying to convert me? While filling out the needed forms before going in, I marked down my "faith" as other. While I am pagan, I'm not religious in the least bit. When they called me back to talk to me, it was literally an hour worth of them trying to tell me to find better faith in their lord. I had explained multiple times within the conversation that I had my own beliefs and I was not interested in the lord, yet they ignored me. I was unbelievably astounded as to what was happening. I was berated with questions such as, "why do you not believe in the lord", " did your family not teach you of the lord's ways", "what happened to you to make you not believe". The lady who spoke to me even went as far to try to "explain" that there are only TWO paths; heaven or HELL. Which I took as her trying to insinuate to me that I would go to hell if I chose to follow the path of their lord. It was entirely inappropriate. If I had known that's the way I was going to be treated going in, I would have never stepped foot in there. Unless you are of the christian faith, I would steer clear of this place.

Chelsie, I am sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable during your appointment. What you described is not how we were trained to speak with clients seeking services. The heart of our mission is to care for our clients and to respect our clients We are a Christian organization and are motivated by our desire to help our clients. Our faith in Jesus Christ is central to the reason we desire to help our clients. But we do not ever want you to feel coerced. So we are truly sorry that you experienced such an uncomfortable appointment. We will visit with your consultant about her communication approach with clients. While we are a faith-based organization, we desire that our services are available to everyone—regardless of someone’s faith or personal belief system, without coercion or judgment. But we apparently did not communicate this well in your appointment. We do not intend to coerce a client, manipulate or withhold services and assistance based on gender, race, religious beliefs or sexual orientation or for any reason. We welcome the opportunity to speak with you again and rectify this miscommunication in addition to following up on any services you might need.

Fantastic experience: From the moment we stepped inside the building we were greeted with two very polite women at the front desk. Deborah our counselor was the most helpful and kindest woman we have ever dealt with on a personal level. Truly amazing to be blessed with such a sweet and helpful woman of God. She was more than just a counselor to us during our first pregnancy. She is truly a sister in Christ. God bless this staff and this organization!!! My wife and I thank you for all of the support.
