Laredo West Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Negative experience: Short staffed and left patients unattended. Patients have to share a room, therefore limiting their space and privacy. Food was horrible. There are also issues with the laundry. Clothes/ blankets going missing is a frequent occurrence. Wouldn't want a loved one in there.

Fantastic experience: No tengo suficientes palabras para agradecer a todos y cada una de las personas que trabajan en esta asilo mi mas grande agradecimiento por todo lo que hacen yo voy casi a diario desde hace un año que mi madre ha estado ahi. El trato que ha recibido ha sido excelente de verdad muchas gracias mi madre tiene alzhaimer y de verdad es muy difícil ver a un ser querido en esa situación ;gracias al personal ha sido menos doloroso saber que está bien cuidada porque es muy difícil cuidar de una persona en esa situación. Mil gracias bendiciones para todos y cada una de las personas que laboran ahi.

Negative experience: Can’t give not even 1 star bad service all around beginning with the nurses and ending with the higher team nurses leave patient yelling for drinks and help and with soiled diapers!!! Nurses and staff really need training and more empathy for their patients it’s like a crazy house with all kinds of alarms going off and people just yelling some one really needs to go and see how those poor people are being are really being treated!!! Never will I take a loved one there it’s not a nursing home it more like a crazy home!!!!!! They need lots of help

Fantastic experience: Three years of care for my father and he never complained once. I would ask him if he wanted to come home with me and his answer was always “No this is my home” this always made me feel at ease when I would visit. Fantastic experience: It's been great since I've been here I could hardly walk when I got here. Therapy really helped.me get back to where I was before.. All the staff have been great ! I really appreciate them and could not have pulled it off as good as I am now without their help! Special thanks to therapists Dora and Jaime for making me stronger and to all the rehab staff! They work me out pretty good.

Negative experience: It says open 24 hours but no one answers the phone by 8pm I had my dad here before he passed away I did a video call since I leave out of state I could only see him moaning because of the pain he was in the call kept on dropping I answered the call three times and all three calls dropped so I called in less than two minutes to a land line but no one never picked up my call.I was very worried because no one never called back to let me know if my dad was OK .I called the next day I asked why didn’t they call me back ? The lady only ask me other questions instead of answering mine.I was very upset and still am in raged because of this.The only person that reached out to me just to ask me why I was changing my dad to another facility was the head of the facility she was the only one that apologized to me other then that I wouldn’t recommend any nursing homes at all.

Fantastic experience: The care that was provided to my mother in law was amazing. We are grateful to the staff for going above and beyond to make sure all of her needs were met while she was admitted. Thank you to administration, nursing, nurse aides, med aides and therapy for a job well done!

Fantastic experience: This is the first day I have seen my dad in over a year due to the pandemic. Although it was less then 10min It was the best time I could possibly have asked for. Throughout the entire pandemic they’ve gone above and beyond to make sure he is well taken care of. my family and I are very grateful for the staff and doctors who attend to his needs every single day. Although I know he can be a hand full they still manage to make sure he has all the support and love he needs. Thank you to everyone at Retama West. Praying things get better soon to be able to see my father more often and for him to be comfortable while the visit takes place

Fantastic experience: Having my uncle at Retama Manor Laredo West has been a wonderful experience. We couldn’t be more pleased with the care he gets at Retama. The skilled nurses are all very involved in providing the appropriate care to meet my uncle's needs. I'm truly grateful to see such outstanding staff that continuously go out of their way to make sure he is in the best place under their care.

Fantastic experience: Working at Retama Manor Laredo West was the best experience of my life. I am very thankful and grateful for the many opportunities I was given. Working alongside the Administrator Ricky Gonzalez has taught me to work a hundred miles per minute. Which helped spred the love I had for all the residents. The one thing I will take from there is that the Administrator Ricky would always consider all the staff like his kids because he cared for us all. With that being said a parent learns to let go and gives room to grow. Thanks a million Crystal Mata.

Fantastic experience: I had a great stay I came here in pretty bad shape not being able to do anything for myself. I could not stand had no strength now thanks to god and the therapists along with the nursing staff I'm leaving here walking. I want to thank god, therapists and nursing staff for everything they did for me. I am truly grateful.

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank the friendly staff members from Retama Manor West for making my wife Patricia, a coma recovered patient, well again. My wife's recovery was only made possible by having the best nurses and physical therapists. Only available at Retama and now after 6 years my wife is going home as a recovered patient. Thank you very much Ricky, Elena, Tony, and Dora and the rest of the staff.

Fantastic experience: Retama Manor West is a great nursing facility. Staff is courteous and nurses are attentive. Administration has a great open door policy and I feel I can always ask anything about my fathers care. I feel comforortable having my father at this nursing home and since he is a veteran the building and staff meet his needs. As the only VA contracted nursing home this is a good place for any veteran. I highly recommend this building for anyone needing extended Care or long term care.

Fantastic experience: Retama West Nursing Center treated my Dad with dignity and respect. Most importantly, they would keep up informed on a daily basis on his progress. I would highly recommend this nursing center, the nurses and the professionalism is excellent. My Dad was very happy during his stay at this facility. My family and I can never repay these professionals for the excellent and the extra care provided during his stay at this great nursing facility. Highly recommended!!!
