Fantastic experience: CNS deserves a five-star rating because, when I first went there for my therapy, I was using a walker to get around after suffering a stroke. I am happy to say that after a month of therapy I am able to walk without my walker. The people there really take their work serious, and they work with you individually and sometimes double to help with your goals. I know of a few people who came with a wheelchair and left walking by themselves. CNS and their employees really care about their patients, and it show. Come on by and see for yourself.

Fantastic experience: As a patient who went in after having a stroke, I can truly say that the staff here is amazing. Without them, I would still be using walk aids. I was outta the wheelchair within 1 1/2 weeks and off the walker in 3 weeks. Before I got there my left side was flacid (couldn’t move at all) I was blessed to be a roommate to a very humble lady and my RTC, NRS staff and clinical therapists were so good to us. I’m super thankful for the growth they helped me achieve. Don’t get me wrong, I had to want it and do the work but the staff was there 100% of the way to support the cause. This is a real organization with real effort and real results. You or a loved one need TBI therapy? Trust CNS to help. It works!!!!

Fantastic experience: The Centre for Neuro Skills is an amazing rehab facility that changed my life. I just passed my one year anniversary after the stroke and surgery. I had a hemorrhagic stroke and aphasia that was a very rough time in my life and CNS helped me get my life to closer back to normal. CNS set up a special program and customized it to fit my needs. They worked extremely hard for me with what I needed and I was able to go back to work. CNS picked me up each day with transportation to drive me to and from. Center for Neuro Skills is an amazing rehab place that helped me get as close as normal that I can now. A hemorrhagic stroke w/aphasia will be a life changing but with all the CNS team was able to work with me, it was able to get so much closer to normal. I still work hard on the aphasia with lessons they gave. I will always support CNS with anything I can do assist others in the future.

Fantastic experience: I am a patient here the techs are good the staff is terrific and i can actually say i am learning alot here at first i was nervous but they really make you feel comfortable here i would definitely come back if needed and they have multiple events here i love the spirits we have here at neuro restorative

Positive experience: The staff and what they do is amazing. All the kudos. However how is it that there are so many patients in wheelchairs, and there is not one single door that has a handicap push button. It’s very frustrating.

Fantastic experience: If you have had the unfortunate incident of having a family member suffer from a TBI, then you need to check out Center for Neuro Skills. This is the most encompassing therapy program for someone who is looking for as complete of a recovery as possible. From the moment you make contact with CNS, you are met with the most caring and skilled people. Their approach is complete and addresses ALL areas of recovery. My son is currently there and has made incredible strides so far. Do your research and you will find that CNS is an amazing facility making small miracles happen day by day.

Positive experience: My husband is in rehab at CNS in Irving! My husband had a stroke and they are doing an amazing job with getting him back on track. I love their staff, Case Manager and the Living Facility is a bonus.

Fantastic experience: This is the most amazing place.. my daughter is walking, talking and functioning because of yall. The apartments have the most amazing staff. Our favorite was Joy she is absolutely wonderful.

Fantastic experience: I participated in therapy as a resident after a stroke. My experience with my therapy team was very positive, and the team members were all skilled and very compassionate. The fellow patients were a really positive influence on my recovery! Even though I have not been a resident or patient there, I continue to benefit from the encouragement I receive from staff members.

Positive experience: CNS truly helped me after my injuries the therapist, mainly speech therapy is excellent. While the physical therapy could have more experienced therapists in my opinion they were still helpful. All in all it was good all around experience for a someone going through the difficulties of brain injury

Fantastic experience: I suffered a stroke and cardiac arrest almost 4 years ago. Within months i was sent to CNS and was with them for almost 2 years. They not only encouraged me and built me up during a difficult time they became like family. I enjoyed being there with a group of people that gave 100% of themselves to me and all the other patients. I have seen them pour themselves out daily and i was blessed to witness it. I miss Vanessa, Bruce, Gerald, Melissa, Lauren and Brittnie and i will be forever grateful for them.

The caretakers and rehabilitation professionals are the best in restoring the heart, mind, body and soul of patients. I am deeply grateful for the help and care from all the staff at CNS. Fantastic experience: We chose CNS for their level of quality staff, advanced technology and commitment to rehabilitating those with neurological disorders. The rehab staff that worked with my son after his head injury gave him both hope and ongoing encouragement throughout his time in therapy. He made a full recovery and I appreciated the open communication lines before, during and after his rehabilitation. North Texas is luckily to have CNS as an option for quality outpatient therapy.

Positive experience: I was afraid of being alone in the apartments and had to do certain tasks on my own. I didn't like the fact that there was someone in my apartment babysitting on me all the time and constantly watching me as taking a shower and getting ready for the clinic. It took me several weeks to realize, if I got better then I could leave the apartments and not have a babysitter watching over me. There were some very good people watching out for me and some that were mean and couldn't understand why they were hired. I voice my concern to the main manager, and he was going to see if he could make it better. The apartments were my main concern overall of CNS. There were some staff members that would adjust the thermostat because they were cold at night. Transportation was very good, they became my friends, they made me smile, and feel safe most of the time. The clinic was huge compared to my last rehab hospital. I wasn't used to getting therapy for 6 hours a day. I was tired and sleepy in the afternoon. OT gave me confidence that I lost after my wreck, I was in charge of the monthly store, over inventory, planning outing and games for the patients. One of the therapists told me that I would be an excellent OTA. I'm in the process of getting my classes ready for this spring. PT got me to walk again, and they help me get into better shape and the staff are excellent. My counselor was fantastic as well as the others. I didn't like education as much of the other treatment because I was challenge enough. Speech was one of the classes I hated going because they made you feel dumb, worthless, and how is the treatment was going to help me. I had a friend that was praying for me in speech and thankful for her. I didn't think speech was that important but thankful for what they did for me. The medical team treated me like a king and loved seeing their huge smiles as they helped the patients. My case manager was fantastic, because I could go to her and tell her my issues. She gave me great advice during my monthly evaluation. I would like to be challenge more because I was getting tired of some of the games that were supposed to help me but didn't. After leaving CNS, my purpose was to help, encourage other patients that needed encouragement. It could be a very tough time without support from friends and family. I was there almost one year and those are the best memories I had in my life. There were some very terrible patients and not sure how they made it to CNS, but those patients also need help.

Fantastic experience: Centre for Neuro Skills was crucial in my road to recovery. In 2016 I was in a car accident resulting in a spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury. In 2017, I began neuro rehab at CNS and it made all the difference! I began in a wheelchair and was able to work my way through walkers to walking again. The staff and therapist were so wonderful to work with. Very patient and able to modify my therapies to what I needed both physically and cognitively. PT, OT, Vision Therapy, Education, and Counseling all played a huge role and I’m forever grateful to them!

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough about CNS and their amazing staff and therapists. Katie, Val, Debbie to name a few are the best. They healed me mentally and physical after my critical incident. CNS is my recommendation for any one that suffered a TBI or serious injury.

Fantastic experience: My son Jerry Mathis suffered a TBI in 2020 Feb. My heart was broken I suffered greatly. CNS the whole team came together and put us back together again. Diane,Eric,Meghan,Bruce,Gerald and all the PT ,speech, and all the therapist accepted us with open arms. They showed so much compassion for the both of us. His driver picked him up the first morning and reassured me he looked at me and said don't worry about him. CNS is going to get him right. He was correct . Fantastic experience: Tanya’s expectations from original doctors was if she lived, she would never do much. That is not what was given to me when I prayed. The Centre for Neuro Skills and staff were amazing! They worked diligently to get her back. Amazing results. She had the worst TBI a person can have. Most dont live and if they do, they dont recover very far. She left the Centre walking with a cane, talking, comprehending most, And in addition to the TBI, she suffered a stroke on the other side of her brain 11 days after her accident! All who knew her and her situation are amazed and agree she is a walking, talking miracle! The knowledge and skills of the therapists are unsurpassed anywhere we have been and we were at several before the Centre. Ii slso witnessed MANY amazing recoveries I never thought possible. If you have a loved one in need of rehab for stroke or TBI, give them the best you can. That is the Centre for Neuro Skills! My heart is overwhelmed. God uses this place to perform His miracles! The staff, admin, n other people r truly all my angels w/o wings. State of the art facility, Highly committed n competent professionals with hearts of gold! They see YOU n ur strengths. My experience at CNS was extraordinary! They were phenomenal in every way! Fantastic experience: My husband had a TBI and admitted at Irving, Texas being wheelchair bound, confused and incontinent both for bladder and bowel movement yet the whole big rehabilitation team worked full force and thank God he was discharged after 17 months able to use bathroom on his own with a walker and memory had been getting better though still needs some supervision in some of his activities of daily living. Shout out to Jennifer Meyer though had been promoted and got more busy but never give up being the Case Manager up to his discharge; Eric Martin the Counselor for his compassion and dedication in spite being yielded at sometimes; Jessica Carpenter the Occupational Therapist who always find new meaningful activities for him to get involve and participate and Mint the Residential staff who spoiled him for take care of his daily routine, personal belongings and matched his attire for the day. Fantastic experience: As you know life can throw you some curve balls. The ones you don’t see coming but I want to take a few minutes and thank God for sending us CNS as our angels. June of 2020 a curve ball came into our life and turn it upside down. My husband was in a very bad car accident with cause injury to his brain and he had a bleed which resulted in him having surgery. He was diagnosis a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) along with other diagnosis. He was in ICU for over a week and then move to the neuro floor. We then were transfer to another rehab. At this rehab they help my husband to start talking again and walking again with a walker. After a family conference they recommended CNS for intensive rehab. My husband was accepted to the inpatient rehab program at Centre for Neuro Skills in Irving, Texas. Henry had to learn how to talk, walk and process thinking all over again. This is where all the hard work began and the reality of our new life. Henry was not your average patient. He was very difficult and challenge everything. He had frustration, poor insight into his disability and difficulty with coping. CNS quality of care was excellent they focus on Henry’s care not his response. They provided effective communication and listen to his needs. On one occasion Henry requested to speak with the Administrator of the facility. They did not blow him off. A meeting was set up and they listen and made changes to his treatment plan. We received Maria McBride as his new case manager, who provide us with excellent care along with her team. Maria made sure we both was involved in the decision-making process for Henry’s treatment plan. Henry’s team was the A Team. He even nickname one of his therapist Morgan the shark. Morgan was his therapist that had to push him the most. You see Henry was already physical before his injury he loves the gym, running and eating right so, PT and OT came natural to him once, he put his mind to it. Morgan, Kendra, and Jordan had the challenge of developing him with adapting, re-educating, and learning acceptance. He had one incident with OT, but it was due to the TBI, not the therapist. Kendra works very well in helping him learn he was going to have some limitation in his new life. My husband completed the whole program at CNS inpatient and outpatient. We were so grateful that the CNS offer transportation. It allows me to get to work and him to get to his job therapy daily on time. CNS not only offer help to my husband but there was support for me. I am grateful for Kendra and Maria giving me support along with the support group. The whole hospital staff (inpatient & outpatient) at CNS exhibited empathy and engagement of our needs. When you are hit with a curve ball it’s good to have the support, education of how to get back up and start a new life and journey. That’s what CNS did for us. Thank you so much! Positive experience: The therapists and staff were very caring and they worked with my sister diligently to reach goals beyond our expectations. We had some challenges with Nursing and the residencial staff but the management gave us opportunity to voice our concerns and they did their best to work with us. Overall we are thankful for a facility like CNS to help families and patients recover from brain trauma.

Fantastic experience: This place is life changing. The staff is encouraging and caring. We have been to 3 other rehabs they don't even compare to CNS. The staff at CNS truly care about your progress and recovery. They understand that it can be difficult and are there to support you and and your family, every step along the way. Rehab is a major part of recovery... it determines your current and " future" quality of life. They understand that. This is and continues to be a long road and My family and I will be forever grateful for CNS. I would recommend CNS to anyone.

Negative experience: Do not take your loved ones to CNS! This place almost killed my father! Negligent, poor communication, unresponsive. Terrible people. Nurse Jay, you should be ashamed of yourself. It is nurses like you who give nursing a bad reputation. May God forgive you!

Negative experience: Black girl driving van #42 this morning near gross in Mesquite was driving out of lane carelessly texting and driving putting other people in danger!

Negative experience: I wish we had discovered the place my father is at now, instead of sending him to CNS initially. The negative reviews are 100% accurate. Our father was not supervised as he was supposed to be, nor were protocols they claim to follow actually done. My father was able to purchase an unapproved item on their required shopping trip, his bags and receipts were not checked, he was left unattended in his room the entire night, and then found having seizures the next morning. It took several days after they found the remains of the unapproved item for them to alert us. When we finally talked to them about the incident, they admitted their protocol was not followed. When we went to pick up his belongings because he was now back in ICU (important to note, he was a week away from being discharged home), they didn't ask me or my sister for ID. We were able to get all of his belongings and his medications without a single verification we were who we said we were. Then when we asked for a copy of the receipt from the grocery store verifying their protocols were broken, he asked for identification. What made the matter worse was seeing a brain injury patient in his wheelchair coming off the van from his doctor appointment in shorts and a tshirt on a day it was below freezing. He was left sitting outside the van for at least 10 minutes without even a blanket. I'm just absolutely shocked this place exists. We took our father to Pate Rehab after he was finally re-released from the the hospital's brain injury program again. We are shocked by the difference in his care.

Fantastic experience: This place is a true Godsend! The faculty in the clinic as well as in the apartments that we, the patients, were living in we're ALL AMAZING! It really never felt like a rehabilitation center, it quite honestly felt like a home away from home! I loved my time down there! Thank You ALL from the absolute depths of my being for everything that You Guys helped me to accomplish while I was down there!

Negative experience: Do not take your family there. The employees are awful. April C. is a driver who slept with her married manager knowing his wife was having a baby! they did their "business" on company time, with company vehicles and phones. This is no t ok. paitnets should not have to be around that!

Negative experience: It is interesting that the all-negative reviews for this business on Yelp are filtered and nearly unavailable. How is anyone to know where to place their loved one after an injury, or where they can go to get good help if reviews are not available? When I needed info, I also could not find them for my loved one. We chose to go with CNS, but found it to be mostly staffed with undertrained individuals in both the day clinic and even more with the residential. For a compromised client, this is very scary in addition to being unsafe. They do a very good job marketing, as it is a business. Injuries were covered up well, and marginalized situations were ignored. The overseeing staff doctor, Dr Christine Johnson, is not only bizarre but is not current on updated brain injury information. Her recommendations were consistently contradictory to our local doctors, who knew the situation well. If you place a loved one here, a family member must be very involved all the time to assure safety and appropriate care. CNS has been informed of these issues over and over. They ignore one situation after another, knowing new clients will continue to come in as the need for care is great and underserved. Do your shopping. Ask hard questions. If you choose CNS, go in knowing, keep your eyes open, speak up. But look at your options in Austin and Galveston first.
