Experiencia negativa: The rep that answers the phone at Sapphire House is very rude. When I called back from a missed call the first time, she was rude that my mom was late from her "2 hr check out time" even though we can keep her up to 4 hrs. The second time I called because one of the coordinators made an appointment for my mother but I wanted to know the details so when I called back the same rep told me she didn't know who made the appointment so she didn't know where to transfer my call. Didn't bother to help find out or be considerate at all. I would've gave them a five if not for that because they treated my mother very well the nurses are great, food was good and my mother enjoyed her time there but just the front desk is a joke no people skills what's so ever.

Experiencia negativa: Our family trusted this facility to care for my grandma, and what we witnessed was heartbreaking to say the least. She was neglected, rarely bathed, and left without the basic dignity every human being deserves. At times she was left in her room with the shades closed, ignored for a lengthy time even when she buzzed for help. Instead of doing their jobs, the staff often came across as lazy, avoiding responsibility and pushing families to provide 24-hour sitters? Isn’t that what we pay them for?! We later learned they were requiring this of other families too! Rather than compassion and accountability, we experienced dishonesty and blame-shifting. Families should never have to worry if their loved one is being cared for, yet that’s exactly what happened to us. Please think twice before placing someone you love here. I’d give this a 0/5 if I could.

Experiencia negativa: I cannot overstate how devastating our experience has been with this facility. What should have been a place of care and dignity for our loved one turned out to be a complete nightmare. The staff is clearly overworked and understaffed, but rather than address this transparently, the facility resorts to deception and negligence. This facility falsifies records and worst of all—there were outright lies told about our loved one’s behavior and condition to justify why we needed to hire an outside caregiver. It was clearly a tactic to cover up their inability to provide proper care and shift the burden (and cost) onto us. Basic needs were often unmet. Medications were missed, hygiene was neglected, and communication with the family was dismissive at best—dishonest at worst. Every concern we raised was either ignored or met with blame-shifting. If you are looking for a place that values integrity, accountability, and actual care for their residents—this is NOT it. I urge anyone considering this facility to look deeper and demand full transparency. Our only regret is trusting them in the first place.

Experiencia fantástica: Our mother spent almost 8 months at Crown Point after she fell and broke her leg at a different assisted living facility. The entire team of her”angels” at Crown Point Emerald House was extremely caring and helpful. As with many skilled nursing facilities they struggle with short staffing but they all gave 100% effort each and every day to provide her the best comfort and care possible. I challenge anyone to try to do their job and still maintain the empathy and enthusiasm they had for their patients ! When mom recently passed away at 94 years old the entire staff grieved with us and shared their genuine love for her. Our family will be forever grateful for their compassion and care.

Experiencia positiva: Nice facility, nice people. Like every place on Earth (almost), the service boils down to the individual employee; some are really good, some not so much. The place smells clean and fresh, not at all like a nursing home - and this is NOT a nursing home. Plenty of parking, nice grounds, more like a community setup rather than a boxy, hospital-ish rehab place. Overall, very nice.

Experiencia negativa: Worst place ever, my mother was there only 7 hours and fell in the bathroom because they didn't read there notes. She needed assistance, she needs hands on at all times, she's paralyzed for God's sake, they failed to read her notes from the other rehab she came from. We moved her out of there right away, they didn't even call the emergency room to see how she was. Never go there until they have better management

Experiencia negativa: I would never go to Crown Point again. Liked nurses and rehab but the management is awful. They run you in circles and nothing is anyone’s job. I was hung up on, how professional is that. Six pair of pajamas were sent she came home with two non matching even the ones she had on and a dirty bottom with poop on them. Mostly the management doesn’t seem to care at all. They don’t know what they are doing. I had trouble with them more than once.

Experiencia negativa: My wife came here for rehab after a bout with Pneumonia. It was a serious illness and she was weak after 10 days in the hospital. Rather than getting her up and capable with PT, she fell and broke her arm, leading us back to the hospital and several more months of misery far beyond the original illness.

Only giving 3 stars because The chef they have is very nice and she cooks good food (i didnt catch her name but she has alot of tattoos). otherwise this would be a zero stars if I could give it!

Experiencia negativa: My Mom has stayed in Crown Point back 13 years ago when she had her hip replaced and she stayed in the Sapphire house and loved it. She moved from Lubbock a few years ago but when she found out she needed her other hip replaced she wanted to go back to Lubbock to have her surgery so she could go back to Crown Point because she liked that they had therapy 3 times a day but this time was the worse mistake she made they treated her so bad most of the nurses did not care how she was feeling and every time she called for help they made her wait and hour or 2 before they even came in to check on her, they never gave her her pain meds on time and one of the nurses even made her feel bad for asking and they had a Temp Charge Nurse that yelled at her when she asked for her meds. The therapy people were nice she said but she was disappointed that she was only there for a little over 2 weeks and the 1st week they didn't even start her therapy and when they did it was only for 2 times a day and they said it was because they are short handed well if they cant keep good help then they should close down the place so patient don't suffer for it. Oh and when they went to weigh her they have a scale that you can stand or sit at and when they had her try to pull up to stand the seat fell and hit her on her knee and bruised her up and her knee was swollen bad i understand accidents happen but when 2 other patients already had that same seat fall and hit them you would think that they would have fixed it so it wouldn't fall again.

Experiencia negativa: If you have loved ones here, move them immediately. I haven't been here 24 hours yet, and they haven't brought me any of my meds. They say let me go grab them and I'll brb. They haven't showed back up the 3 times they said that so far. I took a shower last night and the bathroom and half of the living room were FLOODED. The nurse lied and said this has never happened before. The lady that does the laundry, said it happens every time in every room cuz the slope points out the door and not towards the drain. 1 star is not a low enough rating. These people shouldn't be allowed to care for plants, let alone people.

Experiencia fantástica: I realize this is not a review for the healthcare portion of Crown Point. But I have to leave a review of the chef in the Emerald House portion of Crown Point. Vincent is incredible! He was so caring about the things my mom would enjoy. Croissants were a sandwich option on the menu and when he found out mom had tried to order a few sandwiches with croissants he made sure they had some. When the lemonade was empty, that they store in the fridge for the residents, he was so caring and made some as soon as he knew mom was wanting some. I am a type 1 diabetic and my sugar dropped. I went to see if there was something I could drink with sugar and he ran to another building to get some pitchers of juice and even came to mom's room to bring me a glass of juice. You can see him working constantly very hard to prepare the meals for Emerald House. So my review, as I write this, is souly of a kind and hard working gentleman that has a heart of gold and work ethic that is stellar and that you can see when he thinks no one is watching. 5 stars plus to infinity and beyond! Thank you, Vincent!

Experiencia negativa: My Dad was brought to UMC this afternoon and thank goodness!!! The incompetence at this place is beyond stunning! My Dad’s stomach has been extended and hard as a rock for days. They said it was gas. Turns out his bladder was backed up and he was full of pee!!! I asked for an antibiotic for his lungs they never gave it and Xray at UMC shows he needs one! Today I asked the aide to get the nurse. Two hours later no nurse. I went to cafeteria and she (Chastetie) sat there visiting. I told her my dad’s phlegm was green and she said yuck now I don’t want to eat my pizza. I looked at her and told her I was going to get my dad help. When EMT got there the nurse, Chasetie, told them he has been on antibiotic for three days which was a lie!!!! The medicine lady told me antibiotic would get there tonight! They lied!!! They have not heard the end of me!!! I feel sorry for elderly who are there alone. If your parent is there you better get them out today!

Experiencia negativa: I am disgusted with the lack of care my mother received while at this facility. Only 1 aide present on the night shift..and she was lounging on the sofa looking at her cellphone. A licensed nurse was no where to be found in the Diamond building on the night shift. This situation is a HUGE problem. NO communication between the facility staff and the medical staff who were supposed to be providing medical care for my mother. I would not recommend this facility.

Experiencia fantástica: My husband is here for his 4th stay. Everything is still as wonderful as 2022 & 2023. I am adding a photo of a beautiful omelette prepared by Chef Rachel in Diamond House. On Saturday 3/11/23, Vincent, a chef at Ruby House, prepared and served the most delicious biscuits and gravy my husband has had anywhere in Lubbock. The biscuits were tender and held together without going to crumbs. The gravy had a perfect consistency of coating the biscuits. Not too thick or thin, just right. The chefs at Diamond House and Ruby House take pride in their work and that makes for an excellent dining experience. I was here as a resident 2 weeks in October. My husband is here for rehabilitation following shoulder surgery. All departments, dietary, nursing, maintenance, laundry, housekeeping, social services, activities, therapy, and the beauty salon provide services above and beyond the requirements. Administration coordinates the interactions between departments. No facility is perfect, what sets this facility apart is the staff’s willingness to provide the extra effort to help. 2/25/25 We are here for our 11th stay in 2.5 years. The staff are excellent and make every effort to work through any concerns. The compassion they demonstrate is sincere.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give 0 stars I would. We took my 96 yr grandmother there after a hospitalization stay for rehab. We took her out early as I would NEVER recommend taking your family member here. When we first got there early afternoon, they just wheeled her to a room and no one told us anything, no introduction to the facility, no schedule or info etc. when it was evening time, no one had still come in the room. I had to walk to the hall 3-4 times and kept asking the nurse if someone would be coming in and she kept saying she would come in but just sat there in her nurse chair in the hall on her phone. On multiple times, I saw that nurse and other employees just sitting there on social media instead of tending to the patients. There was one time we watched a nurse (as far as knew it was a nurse) give her pain meds and a little later asked another nurse what the pain meds strength level was and she had no record of the medication that had been given. And when we asked she was rude about too. She said just something like “well, all I see if the earlier meds that we gave her and you’ll have to ask this other nurse when she gets back from lunch”. The response to a patient call is VERY long or not at all sometimes and if someone needs assistance, they end up having to basically wet themselves bc the staff does not respond timely. We never knew who was in charge. No one identifies who they are. The management is terrible as essentially it appears there is just no management. First and second day they forgot to bring her lunch until we asked. One time we asked a nurse for a tv log and she responded “honey, I don’t even live in this town”. That was her response. My grandmother said the nurse on her last night was very rude to her. And another patient there was begging a friend of ours who was visiting my grandmother “to take her home”. The only ones who did their jobs and were nice were the custodians who cleaned the rooms. The nurses, nurse techs, etc were just outright terrible and just have this attitude like they just flat out don’t care. They treat the patients like cattle, not humans. It appears they hate their jobs. Whoever owns crownpoint should be embarassed and this facility needs to make some major changes if they ever want to be considered anything close to a quality facility

Experiencia negativa: My mother in law was brought to Crown Point for rehab services after she fell and broke her hip. She is 85 with dementia issues. I realize that some patients are more difficult than others, but all deserve decent care. My mother in law could not get anyone to help her and could not get up on her own as a result of her hip. She ended up wetting herself. Because of her immobility and her dementia she could not find the call button for the nurse. My wife called for hours trying to get a hold of someone so she would not have to sleep in a wet bed. No one answered. What if she had fallen? How long would she lie there waiting for someone to help. On top of this, they have her isolated because of a positive Covid test. None of her family believes she has Covid. She does not have one symptom and has a negative home test, but their "policy" is NOT to retest for 90 days. Ridiculous. She is only slated to be there for for 21 days and is missing precious time NOT getting enough therapy. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are too many reviews similar to this one.

Will sit food in front of them and then throw it away, will not try to accommodate diet changes if they cannot feed themselves or chew the food. They are rude and uncaring. Stay far far away. This place is the reason my sweet friend has passed.

Experiencia fantástica: My dad has been at Crown Point a few times for rehab. Over the last few years, He has always had great care! He is now there for an extended stay. He loves the staff and they take very good care of him. He really enjoys the activities they offer such as dominos, bingo, movies and popcorn. They had an Easter egg hunt on the beautiful back patio area and invited his great grandchildren to hunt! We were also able to use the activity center at Crown Point to celebrate his 84th birthday together! We value the peace of mind knowing he is receiving excellent care!

Experiencia fantástica: My Dad was at Crown Point for more than one stay. The staff was amazing and very compassionate. It is a beautiful place and very clean. The dining areas are nice and he always enjoyed visiting with other patients there. I had dinner with him occasionally and the food was always very good! The Staff kept me updated on any concerns and on his improvements. We loved Crown Point!

Experiencia negativa: Gave pain meds when they were told not to. Patient laid in her urine and poop. Never called family member when patient wasn’t doing good. Family members had to ask for everything. Went to gather things and the nurses aid had put clothes that were wet with urine in the same bag as Bible and books. It reeked. So in considerate.

Experiencia positiva: My mother resided in long-term care at Crown Point for almost two years. Mother’s care was excellent while she was there. I found all of the nurses and aids capable and very compassionate. They seem to have a high staff to patient ratio which generally makes for attentive care. The facility was clean and tastefully decorated giving it the feel of a nice hotel instead of a typical nursing home. Food was served buffet style and for the most part looked tasty. Breakfast and lunch were larger meals with the evening meal generally consisting of something simple like a soup and sandwich or salad. Prices for long-term care were expensive, but on par with other nursing facilities we checked out. Mother had long-term care insurance which made it doable for us. Mother had her own room which was small but had a generous bathroom. She had a standard size closet that held most of her clothes. I was able to bring in her lift chair and decorate with some of her personal items to make it more home like. She had her own a/c unit that she could adjust which was a plus. I only have a few negatives to report. My mother was asked to leave the facility by administrative nursing staff because Crown Point could no longer meet her needs. She developed advanced dementia and they are really not equipped to treat this type of patient. I honestly think long-term care may have been an afterthought for this facility as most patients come there to rehab and go home. Another concern was the lack of activities for patients in long-term care. That being said, they were trying to add more activities when we left. My only other complaint was the phone system there. I found it difficult to reach someone after hours and some messages left on the answering machine whet unanswered. I’d give Crown Point a high rating for nursing homes in the Lubbock area. If you can afford the cost and your loved one is functioning at a high to medium level, you will want to check it out.

Experiencia fantástica: Six times I have been a patient and six times they’ve hit home runs. I would give them “Six Stars” if possible. These people are focused on improving the health and life of each one of their patients. It is a nursing home, but not like any I have seen before. Each time I have been here, following a hospital stay. I wasn’t ready, just yet, to go home on my own and the doctor suggested I come to Crown Point for rehab. Let me tell you, this is the place to be. They have a chef in each “house” that makes incredible food. My favorite things were 1) breakfast is made-to-order and 2) they have a ROOM SERVICE menu, available all day long! Therapy works you hard to make sure you are as strong as possible in going home. I loved everyone of my therapist. There is a team of people at Crown Point to make sure you are taken care of. The first person I met was Mona, the Diamond House social worker. She steered me through each of my stays and made sure I understood what was going on. She was awesome. I am 91 years young. As such, I have the ability to be a little picky in what I want and what I think. The Crown Point folks made me feel like a princess. From Maegan, the administrator, to the nurses, chefs, and housekeepers, I didn’t meet a rude one. They were all there for me AND my family. Being at home is my goal. But, when I need rehab, Crown Point is where I am coming. If I ever can’t live at home, and need long term care, this also will be the place for me!

Experiencia fantástica: Crown Point was a huge blessing for my family in 2018. My dad spent several months there, both for therapy and long term care. The staff was amazing. The entire staff. They treated us like family. Made us always feel welcomed. They were accommodating to our needs. As my dad transitioned into hospice care, and I asked him where he wanted to go from covenant. He didn’t even hesitate. Crown point was his only answer, that’s where he wanted to be. I am thankful for Crown Point & their staff for being there for him & for us. And, I would recommend it to anyone looking for skilled care or long term placement.

Experiencia negativa: My Mother spent time here in September after a fracture from a fall. She received great care and we were very pleased. My Dad recently had bypass surgery and his medical team wanted him to rehab before going home. They suggested Crown Point. We were thrilled with that recommendation because our Mother had recently been there. Unfortunately, his experience was nothing like what our Mother had. He arrived on a Sunday afternoon. He was basically checked in, served a lunch tray and forgotten about. Thankfully he has family that was there to ensure that his needs were met. It was very frustrating to request Tylenol for him and finally receive it 2.5 hours later. The floor that he was on was not full and obviously the staff wasn’t overwhelmed because they were on their phones looking at social media when I approached their desks. My requests for medications and bathroom assistance for him were met with heavy sighs and eye rolls. One nurse even looked at the nurse on the adjoining side and asked if she would please switch sides with him on that day! A physical therapy aide had absolutely no compassion and seemed to take pride in having a drill sergeant attitude towards an 82 year old man who recently had major heart surgery. We addressed our concerns at his care plan meeting. I realize that these team meetings are “routine” for their staff, but they are not “routine” to our family. The social worker wanted to read the notes, get signatures and move on to the next group outside. I will not recommend Crown Point. If a rehabilitation facility is needed for our family in the future, we will choose differently.

Experiencia negativa: My family was very disappointed with the care that my dad received while he was at Crown Point. My mom had been there two months earlier for three weeks and the there is no comparison between the two. We got there on a Sunday afternoon and very little time was spent with him by the nurses. Basically, they checked him in and never came back. I’m thankful we had family there with him. The physical therapy aide that worked with him was argumentative and showed no compassion to an 82 year old man that had undergone major heart surgery. We ended up requesting a new PT for his rehab. We waited 2 1/2 hours for him to receive Tylenol. I might add that the hall he was on was not close to being full. Each and every time we passed the nurse at the desk, he or she would be on their phone. We addressed this issue at the care plan meeting and were told that this is how the nurses communicate with the doctors. I don’t think Face Book and Instagram are ways they are communicating with doctors! I will give recognition to a nurse named Lori and an aide named Laura. They were much more attentive than any one else there. Our social worker could have cared less about my dad. I can not in good faith recommend Crown Point. If we are faced with using a rehabilitation facility in the future, we will definitely choose a different one.

Experiencia positiva: I've seen fancier places but it's well kept, staff are very friendly and helpful. I had lunch while there, it was fairly tasty and served by staff. Definitely feel comfortable with my aunt living there.

Experiencia negativa: I would not put your loved one here under any circumstances. They say they are a skilled nursing center, that is a joke I had my dad transfered here after his stay in the hospital and because he had bizarre behavior they didnt like which they were aware of before he went there as they went to hospital to see him and approve his move to the emerald unit at there facility. I was called and told that they were working with there social worker to see if they Could find a better placement for him and they would call me back in 45 mins to let me know something. So I called a hour later to see how my father was doing and his nurse told me I am sorry but we could not handle him so we sent him back to the hospital. And mind you I cant just run up there and calm him down as I live over 6 hours away. Finally after 5 hours a nurse from crown point calls and tells me I don't know if our supervising nurse called you but we had to take your dad back to the hospital and if he acts better we can maybe try again to get him back and I told her if your staff can't bother to let people know what is goung on with the patient as it is happening. That I don't want your incapable staff to care for my ailing father. Please make sure before placing your loved ones here weather you really want people like this to care for your loved ones like they did to my dad. They just dumped him at local emergency room and left him there without notify anyone with regards to his safety.

Experiencia fantástica: This suite was wonderful. Gloria, the administrator, was a charming lady who walked me through the units and explained everything to me. Christy, the nurse, was very helpful, there were CNAs buzzing all over the place giving beautiful care to the guests. I even met Jose, the chef, who took pride in his work and kept a clean kitchen. He made sure every dish was accounted for, blueberry pie for everyone, and the dining hall was open, pleasant, and accommodated everyone, including family members. The rooms were clean, the grounds were nice, and I was happy to see patients rolling down the halls and having fun watching an old, black and white western. What a nice experience.

Experiencia positiva: Mom has been here 3 times and it is the best in Texas. She was in 4 others 1 was a diaster. Not every place is perfect but Crown point almost makes 5 stars. Thanks for all the care and love you give her.

Experiencia positiva: My 82 year old grandmother stayed at Crown point for 20 days. In the beginning the staff were great and very attentive but towards the end of my grandmothers stay things were not as good. When my grandmother would call for help the nurse would take a while to come in. One time it took almost 15 minutes to come to the room. When I stepped out to the hall to ask the nurse that was at the nurses station she gave me an attitude and said someone would be there in a moment they were short staffed. I do understand that does happen but everyday for the last week she was there was like that. When I needed to speak to her social worker she was good in the beginning and then that last week she would not return any of my calls. On the day of discharge the nurse was so rude and pretty much said here are you papers and was reluctant to answer my questions. This facility is very well equipped to help patients with all there needs and all the therapist that worked with my grandmother were all absolutely amazing. They help boost her confidence and relayed to her on a person base that made her comfortable. The showers were not well cleaned and they didn't vacuum the rooms daily but all and all it was ok.
