EDGE Physical Therapy in McKinney, TX

Experiencia negativa: My husband went here for 6 treatments. He was treated for shoulder pain. With the treatment, he was offered minimal stretches and occasionally rode the bike (while the therapist enjoyed her breakfast). At the end of his sessions, they would then apply heat or ice. Flash forward a few weeks when we received the bill from insurance. Each time they provide heat (literally a heating pad) for 10 min, that was $170. Same fee for ice. Are you kidding me?! Insurance total bill was $4800 for 6 sessions. Included mild stretch, heat or ice. Shocked! And the woman running the front desk could not be bothered one bit to tell him anything about his bills or expenses incurred as she was too consumed visiting with friends or enjoying her breakfast. This place is an absolute embarrassment of a rip off with terrible service.

Experiencia negativa: I have been a patient at this clinic for several years, and I want to start by saying the front desk staff and physical therapy assistants are absolutely wonderful—always kind, helpful, and professional. They make the environment welcoming and supportive. Unfortunately, I have had difficulties with my current therapists. Living with cerebral palsy my entire life, I know what works best for my body. Stretching is essential for relieving muscle tightness and maintaining mobility, especially as I recover from surgery. Despite my repeated requests to focus on stretching, I am often directed to machines instead, which do not address my specific needs. I was even told I would need updated documentation from my doctor to continue stretching, which was confusing since my therapy plan has been on file for years. This has been frustrating and disappointing, as past therapists here have always listened, adjusted, and created regimens that were both impactful and engaging. I truly value this clinic and the staff, but I hope management will ensure that therapists are more patient-centered and responsive to individual needs. Respect and flexibility are key to effective care, and I believe this is an area that can be improved.

Experiencia fantástica: After breaking my ankle playing Red Light, Green Light at the skating rink, my world slowed down in every possible way. What started as a fun competition turned into surgery, crutches, and weeks of learning patience I didn’t know I needed. When I finally began physical therapy, I wasn’t just trying to walk again.....I was trying to get my life back. That’s where EDGE Physical Therapy came in. From the first day I hobbled through the doors, Jenn and the team met me with encouragement, professionalism, and genuine care. Limp by limp, to step by step, session by session, they helped me rebuild strength, and hope. Now, I’m walking over 10,000 steps a day...something that once felt impossible. What makes EDGE special isn’t just their skill (though they’re incredible at what they do)...it’s the heart they bring to every interaction. They’ve become more than therapists; they’ve become friends who walked beside me, literally and figuratively, through the rehabilitation process. The only downside is knowing I’ll eventually have to say goodbye to seeing them so often. But thanks to them, I’ll be walking and maybe even skating when I do. And for those wondering.....I did win Red Light, Green Light.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going to Edge Physical Therapy in McKinney for 4 1/2 months. I was recovering from rotator cuff surgery and knee replacement surgery at the same time. I highly recommend them. The whole team: Jenn, Andy and Ryan were great to work with. All are highly knowledgeable and caring. I worked with Andy the most. He taught me the skills I needed to promote healing. He was patient and pushed me just the right amount to help me recover. I feel like he has given me my life back. I have one more knee replacement surgery scheduled. I will be returning to Edge Physical Therapy in McKinney.

Experiencia negativa: It was going well until the end. My daughter tore her ACL and it has been mentally tough. She had great things to say about her sessions, but two weeks ago she came out in tears. Any professional knows this injury can be tough mentally. I went in and was told maybe my daughter doesn’t want to play anymore because she wasn’t working hard to push herself. It has been a mental battle and the negativity she experienced her last session was heartbreaking. To imply she wants to quit, was beyond belief. She is just struggling mentally.

Experiencia fantástica: Edge PT in McKinney is awesome. I fully tore my pectoral muscle on January 1st of this year. Luckily it required no surgery so I was able to start PT in mid January. 7 weeks later and I am able to do Push ups with NO PAIN! Maria Unes lined me up a rehab program that got me ready to go quickly. With her guidance and the help of Maribel, my physical therapy tech, I was able to regain all ROM in my chest and am free to workout however I please. This injury is atypical and can be difficult to recover from, but the folks at Edge PT made it easy. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is dealing with chronic or acute pain. 11/10 care.

Experiencia fantástica: For those that have gone through Rotator Cuff surgery / repair you know first hand how difficult the recovery is. I had an unfortunate situation and completely detached my Rotator Cuff to make matters worse I’m right handed and it was my right shoulder. It truly throws your world upside down….. sleeping in a recliner for 6 weeks, learning to eat left handed, showering, dressing etc, saying it was a challenge is an understatement. I had to wait 4 weeks after my surgery to begin my physical therapy. I chose Edge Physical Therapy located in McKinney, TX. and I’m so glad I did, the professionalism and care I received was first class. I was assigned to Kierra Patton (DPT) who I can’t praise enough, she’s an ex collegiate athlete who knows her stuff, her dedication, knowledge and care helped me through 4 months working with her. I was being treated for knee and lower back pain from repetitive injury due to exercise and banging my knee on a dresser. She listened to all of my concerns regarding getting back to be able to workout and participate in dance classes. When I first started my treatment I could hardly stand for long periods of time without feeling sore, the modalities that Kierra started working with me on really helped me to start feeling some relief right away. By the end of my treatment, I can now stand longer periods of time and exercise without being in pain. Kierra also gave me a variety of stretches and strengthening exercises to do from home, which has proven to be very helpful during my recovery. The first time was PT for elbow surgery and most recently (May - July 2023) for PT for a shoulder rotator cuff surgery. Dane Robertson did an amazing job with my recovery. Dane's easygoing manner made the hard work he prescribed quite palatable. He always answered my questions to my satisfaction and provided timely feedback regarding my progress. I was pretty much certain I am going to have a surgery based on how I felt days after injury. 6 weeks later I am almost normal & ready to get back to what I love the most, playing soccer with kids. Both the office staff and therapist were very courteous and very attentive, always ready for feedback. Dan was the one who assess the extent of injury and recommending the therapy required. He was also helping me with dry needling that reduced the pain a big way. The amount of pain I was in on a daily basis combined with my inability to move my back had me genuinely afraid I wouldn't be able to return to work and just general life like I was used to. I'm not going to say every moment of it was great, but I will say I am glad I went, not only have I regained most of my range of motion, I can't even remember the last time my pain level was this low. I felt like a failure not being able to lift anything anymore and barely being able to move. Not only was Dane understanding and able to plan my physical therapy to get me back to normal, but the entire staff was kind. They'll push you when you need it but also understand, sometimes, 10lbs truly is too much for now.

After falling and tearing my AC joint with a groin pull, I was given the opportunity to work with Kierra Patton. Kierra is not only knowledgeable and perceptive, but she also explains why you're doing the exercises and teaches you about your condition and what you can expect from the therapy. I am sure that I'm back to 100%, but if I ever need PT again, Kierra and EDGE is my first choice!

Experiencia fantástica: I suffered a severe case of Vestibular Neuritis and had a difficult time finding a knowledgeable therapist who knew how to best treat the condition and help me recover. Melissa at EDGE was amazing! I drove from Richardson to see her twice a week and it was well worth it. Her therapy experience in vestibular issues helped me greatly in the recovery process, because she really took time to think outside the box and gave me exercises that fit my symptoms. Melissa got me back on track, so I could return to my daily activities.

I arrived with an almost certain possibility for shoulder surgery but after two months of therapy Dane and his team have improved my range of motion and strength to a point where surgery is not necessary. Experiencia fantástica: I started physical therapy at Edge after hip replacement and knee pain. I was blessed to have Dane and his team work with me. They always know your name and you always have someone watching or assisting you. Dane is extremely knowledgeable and uses many techniques to get results. They always encouraged me to see if I could do more after I built up more strength. They don't just give you excercises to do - they continue to watch to make sure you are doing them correctly. This has really helped me to do them at home. I don't want anymore injuries but I would definitely go back to Dane.

Experiencia fantástica: After my auto accident I received therapy at Edge physical therapy. My therapist was Dane and he provided me with excellent care from day one. He assessed my injuries and made a plan to treat the underlying causes of my pain. He also helped my ROM return to normal. I had great pain in my shoulders and neck. He did a procedure called needling which was very helpful. He and the staff there made me feel like family on each visit. They were all very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. Dane definitely knows what he’s doing and he has a gentle and kind bedside manner!

He drew up a Rehab plan for me when I arrived and to take home with me. His plan worked so good that after the first three weeks my pain was disappearing and after two months I my mobility was at 95% I highly recommend the Edge and Dane Robertson .Taylor and Freddie was a tremendous aid in my recovery. Even though I had a set back and needed at have anchors put in they were able to get my ankles to where I'm stronger than ever. I will go back to them if physical therapy is needed in the future.

Experiencia fantástica: The edge is an outstanding facility! Everyone here is wonderful from the second you walk through the doors. Two hip surgeries in one year, Dane and his assistant Taylor have been there for me every step of the way. It was a long and emotional journey and Dane is a compassionate therapist that truly wants to see his patients thrive. I can’t thank him enough, he really improved my quality of life. Now I am stronger, I feel better then I ever thought possible and I am running around with my kids again! I would without a doubt recommend the edge to anyone!

Experiencia fantástica: These folks are the best! Started working with Dane Robertson the day after my ACL repair and couldn't be happier with the progress we made. He is very intuitive and the sessions are never boring. The whole staff is very friendly and it is very clear that they all make a huge effort to provide a personalized approach for each patient from the time you walk in the door to the time you walk out. Hopefully no more surgeries for me, but if I did have to return to physical therapy, I would hope that I would have the opportunity to work with Dane, Taylor, and the entire Edge team again!

Experiencia fantástica: My experience at Edge Physical Therapy was very good. They have an experienced team that are very attentive and knowledgeable. When I first came to Edge Physical Therapy I was having trouble with the mobility of both of my arms and lower back issues. After four weeks, my mobility has increased dramatically and my pain level has decreased. I still have a ways to go and Shane has provided me with a detailed workout schedule to hopefully stay mobile and relatively pain free. I appreciate their professionalism and attentiveness. I have been to other Physical Therapist and was not nearly as satisfied. I highly recommend Edge Physical Therapy in McKinney.

I have been going for my knees for a short amount of time and they have helped them to feel so much better! I recommend them hands down. My physical therapist is Shane and he's really great!
