Experiencia positiva: Garden City as a whole is wonderful. The grounds are well kept. The front desk staff is very pleasant and easy to talk to. Activities does a fantastic job at decorating for every season and she does it well. Whenever I visit, it smells clean, It’s well kept and everyone is friendly and seems happy. I never once have seen a patient there look gloomy. I say give them a try. Parking is the only reason for a loss of a star! Trust me, this place is a good option for rehabilitation.

Experiencia fantástica: My grandfather was recently placed here for skilled nursing. The admission staff were so helpful, quick and efficient! The nursing staff have been amazing and so attentive to him and his needs. I feel confident that he is getting the care he needs!

Experiencia fantástica: This place was a life saver! My grandpa has Parkinson's and recently contracted c-dif. Went to the ER, placed on antibiotics and then was to be discharged to a skilled nursing facility. Nobody would accept him due to the c-dif and it was extremely stressful. Called Garden City, and not only did they accept him immediately after my phone call, they had everything ready and were waiting for him to arrive. Very friendly, knowledgeable and caring.

Experiencia negativa: This place has a decent staff as far as personality goes but you can tell they are overworked and underpaid. If you’re thinking about placing a loved one in this facility, do not. It’s hard to tell if they are even equipped to operate during the hotter months due to lack of cooling ability. It’s quite frankly elder abuse the way their patients are forced to endure the heat. Medical facilities are expected to maintain a certain level of comfort and this one falls very short of the minimum requirements.

Experiencia negativa: Place is a pig pen. Breakfast served cold...no.hot water..PT was promised but not given. Food was awful. Staff over worked. It's all about saving money at this place. THEY DONT ANSWER THE PHONE AFTER REPLIES ARE POSTED.

Experiencia negativa: My Queen was sent here from Kaiser this weekend. Checked this center out on google. It looked nice and it was rated with 3 1/2 starts and that was the best here in Modesto. When we arrived it was a big shocker to me. The photos on the website need to be updated to now, today. This place is no A/C it’s so cramped with people. Unbelievable I hope my mother doesn’t get worse or get sick. They offered her a Covid vaccine and by the looks of that place I said hell yeah give it to her. The staff seemed very nice and eager to help. It’s too early to tell but I hope my mother heals and gets well so I can take her home and get her out of that place. There is way to many people Walking in and out of that place it’s scary you don’t know who’s visiting or who works there or who is a patient there.

Experiencia negativa: This place looks nothing like these pictures anymore. Looks like a homeless shelter. Under skilled/trained "nurses" who will let your loved ones lay in a hot room with no AC and ignore them all day. My father went here and had a second stroke and caught phlnumonia. When asked simple questions like "when was his last PT" or "did anyone clean his mouth and when?" It was impossible to get an answer. This place is awful and I wouldn't have them watch my dog let alone a human being. Should be ashamed of the way you guys operate this place...

Experiencia negativa: This place is a joke I picked my mom up after she had been there a month and she came out as weak as she went in! They changed her medication and told me before I signed to be care taker to call them they would help me! I have never done insulin and accidentally gave her 10 ml instead of 2 ml 4 times a day before meals and bedtime if over 150 at 5:30 with reading of 222 and at 9 when I give her her long lasting 10 ml I realized I had given 10 ml instead of 2ml and her glucose was 134 should I give her the long lasting or what should I do! I was overwhelmed I have to feed her 10 to 20 minutes after having insulin so I start cooking so dinner will be done at 535 seeing I do test at 530 like they said and naturally all these nurses and therapist call between 5 and 530 when most people eat dinner I got super upset because my phone is dinging and I am answering calls and setting stuff up trying to make sure dinner is done within 10 minutes of 5 doing glucose meter reading at 9 I knew it didn’t look right and it dawned on me I gave10 instead of 2 ml so I called and asked for nurse to see if I should take her to hospital or give the 10 ml at 9 long lasting if over 100 and the nurse said he couldn’t give me any information! That is not what I was told I was told if I needed help with the new meds call and they would advise me! The Person I talked to was rude and told me to figure it out! My visit here started with Kaiser sending me for Physical Therapy Treatment and Evaluation It ended up for a 11 day stay. Plenty of time to evaluate all shifts and all personnel Starting with Jody and Nichol in admissions management taking care "everything" nessary for my stay. You would think l was going on a Love Boat Ship Cruse Then the Staff.. Snema..Monica..paulina..Nancy..Joch..Argelia..Aleasha..Emma..Mary ..Miss J RN..Marisol. RN... Chharvy RN... Mandel RN..Lady in Pink physical therapy..James and Liea my favorite and Jen..THE BEST EVER Then MaryJo and Miss Pam Activity Directors doesn't get any better anywhere than these two They should have their own TV Show Or work on Cruze Ships! Experiencia fantástica: I’ve experienced a few of these places in the area due to my grandparents needing care/rehab. Garden City is the best I’ve found. All of the employees I encountered were friendly and sociable. They were helpful and understanding. They treated my grandpa with kindness and care. They seem to have a great rehab program. My grandpa was very sick and basically in a hospital bed for nearly 3 weeks. He went from unable to even stand up, to being able to zip around with a walker. Each time I visited my grandpa, he was well cared for. They responded to requests/concerns in a timely manner. The admissions department (Nicole & Jody) went above and beyond the call of duty to help me get my grandpa the care he deserved. I also greatly appreciated Armando for doing everything he could to get my grandpa discharged quickly after the social services department told me to come at an inconvenient time to pick him up.

Experiencia negativa: This place is a joke. Didn't call family when my father fell. I should have just give them a star. This place is not worth of 1 star

Experiencia negativa: This place is abhorrent. They do not help patients and make them wait for hours, their idea of physical therapy is letting patients sit in a wheel chair for 3 hours unattended, and putting them in extreme danger by not reading medication directions correctly, not providing them in a timely manner and failing to do basic things like not taking blood pressure over a central line. They also forget to give patients meals, leave people laying on the ground in the halls, leave them in dirty conditions and patients end up with mysterious wounds after activities. This place is absolutely horrible and no one should be subject to this poor and inhumane treatment.

Experiencia fantástica: I was very well taken care of all through my physical rehabilitation. The staff is knowledgeable and compassionate. The food was healthy and well prepared. Nursing staff was fantastic. Administrators as well. An overall great experience.

Experiencia fantástica: I have no idea how this staff (Nurses, CNA's, Housekeeping, Drs., Maintenance, Administration and other support staff (activities, clerks, social services, etc), OT's, PT's, food staff and many I am sure I'm forgetting, take care of so many and such a variety of patients. I will have been here 14 days (13 - 14 days??) And even in the middle of a state audit I felt like the patients came first. Not a totally fabulous experience as I was pretty sick at first, but it had nothing to do with the facility. Thank you Garden City and staff!

Experiencia fantástica: I'm not Natalie but I can't change the user name. I want to write a review so badly. I am using this name. My aunt has had to have sveral surgeries over the past 7 yrs. Almost 1 a year. She has been to just about all the more popular long term nursing homes around town in these past 7 yrs. This visit to Garden City has by far been the best experience we had compared to the other facilities. The staff listened to how I wanted things handled in regards to my aunties care. They communicated those request to all the other shifts. I didn't have to repeat myself everytime I came to visit. The PT & OT departments did an excellent job with getting her ready to come home with minimal assistance. They taught me several new things& techniques. The nurses knew how to be assertive with my aunt with gentle loving care. I thouroughly enjoyed the time my aunt was there. Thank you all for a job well done!

Experiencia fantástica: My mother was cared for at Garden City Healthcare Center for two months last summer. Her care was excellent and respectful. At that time, she was unable to walk on her own and required the assistance of many. There were days when it was difficult for her to be so confined but the staff always had a kind word of encouragement and physical support for her throughout this challenging stay. At 93 years old, she had been and now continues to live independently, in large part to the support, therapy programs, and skilled abilities of staff members here. My family joins me in expressing our thanks to all of them.

Experiencia fantástica: This is the best nursing facility you can send your loved one too. The staff is amazing with there patients and make it very comfortable for the patients to be away from home while getting therapy. There are so many options for the patients to have fun while they are here. There's always fun activities going on and the staff always makes it a point to connect with each patient and so loving. I wouldn't send my loved ones anywhere else but here since I know they are in the BEST hands!!! Great job garden city staff!

Experiencia fantástica: My elderly mom who lived with me for many years has stayed at Garden City twice for rehab. When her care got too much for me in my home, her wishes were to go back to Garden City! She has lived there for almost a year and I really don't think I can express enough in words, how grateful I am to the administrators, nurses, CNA's, physical therapists, even the custodians, and kitchen staff! My mom has never had so many friends and has never felt so sincerely loved by so many. Most of her time there had been spent out of her room and involved in all of the many activities they provide. Lunch outings, bingo, trivia, afternoon movies with popcorn, live musical entertainment, bible study, arts & crafts, visits from local school children, and a party for every holiday on the calendar! Recently, my mom has been losing a battle with cancer and will spend her last days at Garden City. She is being treated like a queen! In recent days she has told me, "I have had more hugs in the last few weeks than I have had my whole life!" "I'm not sure if I've already died and gone to Heaven? I've never felt so loved and I am really happy!" "I AM HAPPY!!" My mom isn't strong enough to get out of bed anymore, can no longer eat and most likely has only days to live and this is what she just said to me!! I have had many days that I have cried over the thought of losing my mom, but today I am crying as I write this, out of my most sincere appreciation to everyone at Garden City. As hard as it is to lose my mom, I truly could not be more comforted in knowing she is getting great care by so many loving, sincere and devoted people. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Experiencia fantástica: I have known the administrator for a few months and I am really impressed with what I have seen. He is very responsive to questions and he seems to be very involved with the day to day operations. When the head of the facility is on top of things, it is clear that the employees and residents are being cared for well.

Experiencia negativa: The facility itself is ok. Brie the activity director is great and so is Pam. They are kind and compassionate. What's HORRIBLE is their physical therapy department. The therapist, Luis, lied about giving my mom services then the following day he barely worked with her for 15 minutes! If you bring a loved one to this facility you will need to advocate for your loved one and be their voice! We found 13 of my mom's pills in her floral arrangement! This tells me that the RN who gave them to my mom just handed them to her and walked away!! My mom was not being cared for properly!! After 4 days I took her home but believe me their social services department and her insurance will hear about this! This facility will NOT be billing my mom's insurance for services that were NOT received!

Experiencia fantástica: I recently toured this facility and have to say I was impressed. The staff all greeted me and were friendly. The building was tidy and smelled clean. The patients looked well cared for. It was nice to see this as I’ve seen other nursing homes that are not so nice.

Experiencia positiva: I really wanted to share my experience while at Garden City. The CNAs work very hard to take care of each patient above and beyond regardless of the patients attitude! It's amazing what a please and thank you will accomplish. The nursing staff is on the ball with the timing of each patient's medication. They are also very helpful in contacting the Doctors and timely as well. I was in the facility for rehabilitation. I could not walk, roll over or sit up. After 2 weeks of physical therapy (Matt and Questly) I'm getting around on my walker, getting up and going to the restroom alone. Thank you Garden City!

Experiencia positiva: I give 3 stars simply because the outside backyard area is beautiful. My Dad was here for about 2 weeks after a hip replacement. He is a little confused due to other issues. I was not happy at all to learn that he was found across the street from the facility, headed to the store. They then had to put an ankle alarm on him. His room was DIRECTLY across from the nurses station! They lost his leg wedge, which he needed following a hip replacement, specifically to keep his legs straight, and didn't even "realize" it until my mom said something. They then brought him another one, not his. Three patients to a room and pleanty of space. If the family is there, they don't come in. Better put on your running shoes to track someone, or your loved down!

Experiencia positiva: The PT and OT are great. Most of the nurses are very kind and helpful, even though sometimes it takes a long time to respond to the lights. The maintenance guys are helpful, especially Raul. The cleanliness is a 9. If you leave there temporarily they tell you your stuff will be safe and waiting for you when you get back but that is not true, it disappears never to be seen. The food is disgusting. And finally, when I asked them why they did not call me when my husband fell I was told he is responsible for himself so they do not have to call me. An RN told me that tonight.

I was there every day to ensure that my Mom was being taken care of and being there with here made a difference, I saw how other guest thst never had company was often overlooked.
