Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Burkhalter and staff were awesome! Thank you for the excellent care! Loved that Dr. Burkhalter and Mike Ellis, PR, ATC worked together to care for my injury!

Experiencia negativa: I went in with a nutcraker fracture (anterior process of the calcaneus in radioloogis report) and the NP barely looked at the xray and said he doesn't see anything in xray but would order CT as radiologists recommended but treat as ankle sprain. I knew he was wrong immediately. My PCD referred me to Southern orthopedic confirmed injury in xray. I will NOT GO BACK HERE.

Experiencia fantástica: First visit, on a Friday, at lunch. I was there to get my ankle looked at for a suspected fracture. Check in was super fast and easy. The staff assessed my ankle very quickly (a hairline fracture that was healing), they took time to ensure multi range movement and gave guidance to further address swelling for recovery. Super impressed by their comprehensive and friendly staff. Liked their model too…a place to get physical concerns addressed in a dedicated setting. Highly recommended.

Experiencia negativa: This place used to be so quick to get in and out when it was operated as Southern Orthopedics. I have had two children on multiple occasions in the past triaged, xrays, casted, and out the door in 30 minutes. Now that it is a Baptist business it is the usual Baptist wait times. Slow, slow, slow.

Experiencia negativa: The initial visit was good. As we left on Saturday evening around 7:00p.m., my husband was prescribed 2 medications which the nurse said was sent to our pharmacy. The pharmacy closed at 7 p.m. so we could not get it. Sunday the pharmacy opened at 10:00 a.m. and when he did not get notification from the pharmacy that the medication was filled my husband called the pharmacy and was told they had never received the prescriptions. We waited until Monday when BaptistOrthoNow was open and began calling them requesting to please send prescriptions to our pharmacy. We were told they had been sent at 9:30 a.m. but our pharmacy never received them. We decided to go to BaptistOrthoNow and get an old fashioned paper script. We arrived at 4:30 p.m., made our request and waited, and waited, and waited!!! We left at 6:15 WITHOUT the paper prescriptions as the pharmacy closed at 7 and would not have time to fill them!!!!! JUST RIDICULOUS!!! Our revisit is in 8 days. Not sure how that will go!

Experiencia negativa: They claim to be an urgent care but refused to see me for an urgent issue without a referral from my drs office. When I asked them to clarify how they are urgent care they said they bill as specialty so they have to have a referral. Urgent care is just that… urgent.

Experiencia fantástica: Arrived to have my two year old’s wrist examined per our pediatrician’s recommendation after an accident at the pool. We were in and out of OrthoNow within an hour. The staff, from the front desk to X-Ray, to Amy (NP), were fantastic. They were all very kind and very patient as someone can imagine examining a two year old’s aching wrist isn’t an easy task. I recommend OrthoNow for any ortho urgent care needs.

Experiencia fantástica: I loved this place. Brought my son in for his foot. The people are nice we got in and out real fast. Glad they have a walk in place like this now. Dr. William Burkhalter is a really good doctor wish he was a family doctor he will explain everything to you. Great doctor!!!!

Experiencia negativa: Another example of pathethic healthcare in Alabama's Capitol City. Individuals go to doctors for relief from whatever is nagging them, but in Montgomery seems pages of paperwork is higher priority; plus require social security numbers. What, ones going do our taxes now; SSN is not for indentification. Read IRS issued Social Security card, reads clearly "For Tax Purposes Only, Not Indentification."

Experiencia negativa: Such a disappointment!! If I could give them zero stars, I would. My son was injured in a football game. Took him to this place because they were the only option on a Saturday morning. The receptionist was rude and snatched the iPad from me when I asked her a question. Rather than show compassion for what was clearly an urgent matter, she concentrated on informing me that unless they received a referral before Monday(how?) we would be responsible for the bill-even though he has a primary and secondary insurance. To make matters worse, the staff refused to schedule his MRI. Someone called five days later with an MRI appointment. He had already seen 2 doctors, had MRI, and was scheduled for surgery the next day. So glad I did not wait on them.

Experiencia fantástica: I was very pleased with the service provided for my fractured wrist. Dr. Burkhalter and the entire staff were knowledgeable, courteous, and professional.

Experiencia negativa: I was in severe pain, so I went here, twice. Staff is polite.. However, I paid $250 for a less than 15 minute appointment, with a doctor that didn’t do much… At all. Not to mention, my medication for pain has been handled too poorly. I went last week, Thursday to the clinic, and my prescription was supposed to be called in to the pharmacy that I, the patient, specified. Only for it not to be called in… Called the following day, was told it would be called in again… Still, no prescription. Called in AGAIN, it has been SIX days… only to be told that my prescription is at another pharmacy, one way outside of where I requested. I was also told that I, the patient, had to make contact with the pharmacy. Did just that only to find out it is a closed door pharmacy that nursing homes use and that they cannot pull and fill my prescription. Called and informed BON of that, and was promised a call back… but nothing. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Experiencia negativa: Was refused service because I would not provide my social security number. My insurance company, like most all others, does not use SSNs as an identifier. They want it for collection purposes only. However, they would verify my insurance coverage and collect my copay before treating me so payment wouldn't be an issue. I have lived in Montgomery for 3 years and have seen a primary care physician, an ENT, a cardiologist, a gastroenterologist, a neurologist, and a urologist and none have required a social security number. Why does it matter? My identity has been stolen twice and both times it was from a healthcare provider.

Experiencia negativa: After waiting for about an hour, we were finally asked if he may have hit his head which after we said possibly but not hard at all they said they wouldn’t see him and we had to go to somewhere else. They could have said something earlier. Turned out he didn’t have a concussion. Unprofessional.

Experiencia negativa: Refused to see my daughter today because she had a follow up appt already scheduled for tomorrow. I told her that pain had gotten worse and that we would not be able to make it to scheduled appt. That she needed to be seen today. Receptionist spoke to dr Buckhalter (?) who refused to see my daughter. Ridiculous!!!! Booked appt with Dr Murphy

Experiencia negativa: Went in because I could not lift my arm. Shoulder and arm pain. The Nurse Practitioner sent word to me in the lobby that they refused to see me because I had a MRI done 7 months ago. REFUSED. Would not even talk to me.. They could have at least seen me, talked to me something! I hate pain meds but an anti-inflammatory might have helped.IF THEY WOULD HAVE AT LEAST TALKED TO ME INSTEAD OF JUST REFUSING ME. My suggestion Do not go here! Go anywhere else.

Experiencia negativa: I just left the urgent orthopedic in East Chase and the physician Freeman came into the room talking about my right foot touching my left foot. I had to correct him. He didn't take the time to look at my x-rays before coming to give a clear explanation of what was happening. Nothing, he said made any sense. I believe because I already had an orthopedic doctor he didn't want to deal with it. If you can save your time and visit the ER or schedule an appointment to an orthopedic doctor that last name is not FREEMAN

Experiencia fantástica: Took my daughter her for an injury. They were open on a holiday and we did not wait long to be seen. They were able to give her an xray and fix the problem while we were there. The staff were all very friendly and nice to all of us. I would definitely reccomend this place to everybody.

Experiencia fantástica: Instead of going to the emergency room for his hand we found out that this place was new and open! He went in filled out paper work. The person helping him was very attentive! They got him back quickly. We found out his hand was broken. They gave him options and opinions and he was out the door. Very satisfied with this service. Very clean and welcoming!

Experiencia fantástica: I went with a bad knee injury. I saw Dr Johnson and tech Kayla. They were very nice and comforting. I just had a great experience. Jean at front desk was so helpful. They took me right away. I would highly recommend!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I took my 6 year old daughter here for a fractured arm. We had nurse Ashley and she was absolutely wonderful with my daughter! She explained the whole process to her when she was getting her splint done. Dr. Freeman was wonderful as well. I highly recommend this place if you are in need of urgent ortho care! I will absolutely be recommending people to come here.

Experiencia negativa: Don’t waste your time. I have tri care prime insurance and was told I needed a referral. Called before leaving to get a referral, which I did get one. Went back to the desk to let them know the referral was in its way…still wouldn’t see me. The best I could get was they are open until 8:00 pm. Don’t advertise as an urgent care facility (which you do not need referrals for) if you are going to bill the insurance as a specialist facility. Waste of my time and energy. Hope this injury can be seen by someone today.

Experiencia negativa: Went a couple of weeks ago after I had done something to my back and could barely walk. Waited 30-45 minutes after checking in on the kiosk and the receptionist called me up to the desk and told me that there is not a doctor who would be able to help with back pain. I wish I had known this while checking in/shortly after arriving. They did recommend a doctor - who did not have appointments available for two weeks. I ended up having to go to an urgent care instead.

Experiencia negativa: Went to have my pain seen about due to an injury. I have had both hips replaced and was afraid I had messed up something. The receptionist refused to let me see a Dr. She "diagnosed" me in the waiting room and said there was no one who could see me. I asked for at least an x-ray to check my hips and she refused me. Southern Ortho is better than this. I am appalled.

Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful new office with the latest in furnishings, equipment and technology. The registration/check-in/check out process was streamlined and the wait time was minimal. The support staff was welcoming, friendly and pleasant. The health care received was exceptional, with a thorough explanation given on my injury and treatment plan. I highly recommend Baptist OrthoNow. We are blessed to have a health care ortho provider like them in Montgomery!!
