Experiencia fantástica: My mother has been a resident in long-term care since July 2024. When I admitted her, she was on hospice care. She has absolutely THRIVED under the care of the staff at Capitol Hill, and she has been taken off hospice. My mom loves living there! I have peace of mind knowing that all her needs are being looked after. The nurses are just wonderful and patiently answer my questions each time I visit. The business office has been wonderful to work with when I have questions. The management is very hands-on and approachable.

Experiencia negativa: This place does the bare minimum.. My mother is there after surgery on her hip and they don’t do anything to help.. They do the minimum one class a day for rehabilitation, Other than that, they don’t go in the room.. If she asks For something it takes half a day to get it done.. She hits the button and it takes an hour sometimes to get in there… What if she was having a heart attack or she had fallen?…. Do not do not bring your loved ones here…. They do the bare minimum… It’s like a bunch of Walmart workers

Experiencia negativa: I will say this place is beautiful, landscaping is as well. The inside is clean and orderly. The woundcare, occupational therapy and the physical therapist are five out of five stars. They are wonderful. Where it gets such a low rating from me is the nurses and nurse aides. They are absolutely horrible! My step-father has been in there for short term recovery and there isn't a day that goes by that there isn't some type of issue caused by the blatant incompetence from the nursing staff. Everything from my dad having sores from sitting on his own feces all day, to him hurting so bad he's throwing up because his pain meds weren't given to him all day because "they were out". How can a rehab facility like this be "out" of pain meds first and second WHY WOULDN'T YOU LET THE PATIENT AND THE FAMILY KNOW THIS!!?? He was also given a rag and one cup of water to "bathe himself"???!!! It's disgusting how the nurses treat these patients and I'm taking names and reporting them to the board. I'm unsure how well they pay their staff here but this facility has unfortunately attracted the bottom of the barrel in terms of nursing staff and I haven't met not ONE that doesn't have a nasty, hood rat temperament. That statement is in NO WAY A RACE ISSUE, this is a lack of professionalism, lack of compassion and laziness issue. Do NOT send the people you love to this place if you can help it. I know there are worst places out there, but this place seems to be ran by hoodrats and has no plans on changing anytime soon.

Experiencia fantástica: When my husband was discharged from the hospital after a severe infection left him weak and wobbly, I chose Capitol Hill because it is the closest facility to our home. Friends who had stayed there many years ago discouraged me, but evidently management has changed since their experiences. We have found the place clean and the professional staff consistently cheerful and kind. My husband likes the food, too: every meal offers two primary options plus a variety of alternates. The building is old, yes, but beautifully landscaped and kept immaculate with shiny floors, flowers, and light everywhere. A pleasant shaded courtyard is open to all patients and family members. The large lobby also welcomes residents with a big aquarium and a large cage of songbirds. As a bonus, the adorable little facility puppy, Bella, is on hand and cute enough to make Oscar the Grouch smile.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been here for 19 days. The nurses here are AWESOME. The food is excellent. And the house keeping staff are always cleaning rooms and buffing the hallway. I highly recommend Capital Hill for rehab. The PT and OT staff are excellent and very caring.

Experiencia negativa: The one star is for the morning Rehab nursing station staff on 2/2/24 with my grandmother. The night before there was an incident where the staff didn’t acknowledge that the nurse button was pressed for assistance. My grandmother said she had to pee and Head nurse David told her they were short handed with 31 patients. When I arrived to visit her around 7:45 p.m. she was still asking to pee. She pushed the assistant button no one came to assist within a timely manner. I went to the nurses station and three nurses there talking ignoring the blinking room light. Finally, a CNA was sent to assist. Today, my grandmother asked a CNA for a pain pill; she said she’ll get it. It never came until after about 30-45 minutes. Then my grandmother told me she’s getting dizzy. I went to the nurse station again and see three different nurses: two at the desk and one leaning on the desk (Candice) engaging in a personal conversation. I began to say to them so they’re three of you here and no one is acknowledging the blinking light? My grandmother has been asking for pain medication and now she’s saying she’s dizzy May she get some assistance PLEASE. No one moved or said anything. So, I said no one is going to say anything or move to assist her? At that point I began to get frustrated and asked for a supervisor. Candice went to the back office and got David. There was an African American lady in the office as well on the phone. I explained to David what transpired as he asked. David and I walked to my grandmother’s room and I began to further express my frustration to him about the staff. At that point my grandmother began to go limp in the wheelchair and began to seizure. At that point all the nurses and CNAs came to assist. Blood pressure was taken; it was low. She came through, was placed in the bed and her clothing were removed. She had gotten too hot in the room along with being in pain after asking for a pain reliever and saying she was dizzy.

Experiencia negativa: My mother stayed there for two weeks for physical therapy worst experience ever even with me spending 60 percent of the day with her call lights go unanswered the weekday day shift receptionist has the worst customer service skills the restroom are filthy that four people have to share they constantly left poop and urine on my mother even after i complained about it if they are short staffed the nurses will not help the cna's the food is not healthy the staff act like they are doing you a favor for your loved one being there they don't do a good job of putting a at home plan for the patient once they leave their facility i voiced my concern to three people in upper management and each concerned got overlooked this place needs serious training with staff i would not refer this place to anyone the said part about you got staff that works there and tell you that this place isn't right !

Experiencia positiva: My mom was at Capitol Hill for four years before recently passing away. I want to thank the staff for all their hard work to care for her especially in the last few months of her life. The director was easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions or concerns. The nursing staff and C and As really are wonderful people.

Experiencia negativa: This place is awful. One of many if not the worst facility in MONTGOMERY. My mother was admitted to this facility with a catheter and an infected toe. Mind you she has been here for THREE WEEKS. The nurses never attended to the toe. I finally complained and they made arrangements to have her taken to a foot doctor. The infection was so bad at this point. She has been given antibiotic and will have to go back in two weeks for an in office procedure. The catheter has not been removed why??? Her blood and urine is analyzed every day. What is the problem??There really isn’t a problem. They do these minor procedures to satisfy the insurance companies claim in order to get paid and funded by the state. The minimum staff they have are not in it to take care of patients they are there to collect a pay check. To top it off she has been in a broken bed the entire time she has been there and I have taken photos and her television does not work. This place should really be investigated. I will be reporting all of this you best believe that!!!

Experiencia negativa: The one star is for the OT, PT, and reception. Other than that…what a horrible experience for my grandfather who was in rehab. There needs to be a re evaluation of the staff all the way around. Took them 20 minutes to answer his call. They serve horrible options for patients who have special dietary needs. Fried fish, hush puppies, and French fries for a heart patient!? Do not send your loved ones here or you’ll end up doing their jobs.

Experiencia fantástica: The physical therapists and occupational therapists were excellent! the support staff were very helpful and nurses too. It is a clean facility and I recommend to you for care, treatment, and help.

Experiencia positiva: I transferred my mother from another facility to Capitol Hill Rehab a few days ago. God has truly blessed my family as Capitol Hill Rehab is one of the BEST rehab facilities around. The staff is very courteous, kind and caring. The administration walks the halls everyday and speaks with the patients, and most importantly the staff treats my mom like a queen which has aided with her rehab. The PT and OT therapists are truly one of a kind. They give each patient that individual care and love while rooting them on at the same time. What makes this facility so special is that its a smaller facility which gives the staff a chance to tend to the patients needs, laugh and talk with the patients and show that extra love that is needed to aid with the healing process! I recommend this facility without any regard. Take the time to tour the facility and speak with the administration. Your loved one will be very pleased, as well as you!

Experiencia negativa: My mother was there they never bath her her leg had to be cut off because of wound care not taking care of very bad place. I had her move to selma an they took good care of her whenn she arrived to selma her hair was so mated they had to shave it my mother pass on jan 12. No longr suffering. Please dont let ur family suffer they will there

Experiencia negativa: I would like some statistics and actions from the Alabama Department of Publuc Health comparing this nursing home with others, especially where Covid-19 quarantines for patients/residents DUE TO STAFF TESTING POSITIVE is concerned. Is this the norm for all nursing homes? What should we do when we get an email EVERY WEEK informing us that patients/residents visitation has ceased due to STAFF testing positive for Covid-19? Not 1 patient/resident tested positive, but always STAFF. Are there no consequences for staff testing positive? Do they still get paid while off on quarantine? I think harsh consequences would effect a decrease in staff irresponsible Covid behavior. I have repeatedly expressed to Capital Hill administration that it is well-documented that visitation with family, friends and clergy can be a major influence on patients/residents well being. Spirituality influences Physicality. Is the staff REALLY that Covid irresponsible or does the administration just send that mass Covid quarantine email out of laziness and not wanting to deal with facilitating visitation. I think the Department of Public Health should be able to monitor if staff members at A NURSING HOME repeatedly tests positive or positive-adjacent to Covid-19, and if they do, execute DIRE consequences. Twice positive and you are out of a job!!! I have never been one to throw stones and hide my hands, so please know that I am investigating and working on this on a higher level. Residents deserve to visit and eat meals with their love ones too.

Experiencia negativa: Please do send your loved ones here. My grandmother had triple bypass surgery at the age of 85 and was sent there for one week to do rehab. And she was told to bath herself, she came home with an infected bed sore. I made several calls to the nurses station to speak with her and was always told they couldn’t take the phone to her and the room she was placed in did not have a working phone. My Uncle called and he was told by nurse they would call the phone company to inspect the phone to see why it was not working. Which was never done. This facility in prisons the elderly. Please avoid by all means.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible place bad with terrible staff that treat the the elderly badly. The food is extremely poor and the sanitation is badly with roaches near the air conditioning units and the beds.

Experiencia fantástica: My father is currently at Capitol Hill and he speaks Spanish. The staff have gone above and beyond to accommodate him with the language and cultural differences. They are putting ideas together to make him Feel comfortable and are working on providing easy communication via flash cards. They have been attentive, caring and have communicated anything that may help him make the transition. They have provided love and understanding to me. Everybody from management to the CNA’s have been outstanding! Thank you

Experiencia fantástica: I recently did my clinicals here and it was by far the best place I've been to. Me and my class toured a few facilities and Capital Hill has been the most organized, cleanest,and friendliest. All the residents look so happy and clean and well taken care of. As soon as you walk in you feel welcomed by the staff. If anybody is considering a place to put a loved one or looking for work, this is the place to come.

Experiencia fantástica: My grandmother is a hospice patient and recently went for respite for a 5 day stay so my husband and I could have some rest. We were so so nervous and so was she. They put her in a nice room to herself which was great - she is a introvert. She loves the food. I felt very comfortable after a few days since she was so content. She even told me the day before we were to bring her home she could stay a few more days if we wanted and would be happy to come back! This is saying a lot from a lady who hates leaving her house. So thankful it was a good experience!

Experiencia fantástica: Friendly front desk. PTs were excellent with my grandparents. They were nice and helpful. They cared about them and made sure they improved. The facilities were well-kept and the bedrooms were clean. They were able to fit in my grandmother for a salon appointment, which made her very happy. Overall, I was very impressed.
