Yale Health: Opiniones
Experiencia negativa: Horrible hours of operation in specialty services and wait times are outrageous (just to be transferred to wait some more)
Experiencia negativa: I have a serious complaint about YHP! My daughter is a Yale police officer who was scratched by a female who was very unclean smelling of human urine and feces. Often police officers are assaulted in such ways. This is considered a direct exposure wound and she should have been treated immediately, any rage of viruses and bacteria live under the cleanest human fingernails. Instead she was made to wait her turn and because they were extremely busy it took almost 4 hours! They told her if she went else where it wouldn’t be covered as a workman’s comp injury . She could end up with life threatening complications! So it’s ok for police officers to risk their lives to protect citizens but when their lives are in danger they don’t get the help they need to be safe! Her wounds should have been cleaned immediately- they made her sit there long enough to ENSURE infection/bacterial transmission!!! This policy must be changed!
Experiencia negativa: Unfortunately very rude over the phone. Not helpful and not worth seeing. As a Yale student, it's the only way I can afford to be seen but it's not even worth going. Everyone I've seen has been very dismissive of my symptoms and almost acted like I'm lying to them.
Experiencia negativa: Yale Health Plan is terrible! You can be on your death bed and they still wouldn't give an F!!!!! its so disappointing. I've been trying to reach my doctor since last week. I sent her a message through my chart and its crickets.... I called them to speak to her nurse first thing in the morning and NOTHING. There's no type of urgency at all. Especially with my medical history..they just dont care... do yourself a favor and pay more for better doctors. Ones who actually CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Experiencia negativa: There’s a reason they call this the yale death plan! Nothing is urgent to them..even if it’s an actual emergency. Only way to **possibly** have someone call you back or schedule an appointment within a timely matter is by filing a complaint with patient relations but they still don’t even care lol. Poor excuse of a health care system. So sorry to any new moms & parents who have to deal with this place! As soon as we switched insurances we all had immediate medical care
Experiencia negativa: I was hospitalized for suicidal ideation last March (March 2023), followed by months and months in residential care. Now that I'm out of residential care I can't get most of my prescriptions because the claims keep getting denied. I think the problem is with all three of my external pharmacy (Walgreens), Yale Health, and Medicaid. On Yale Health's part, it seems some of the issue is that the organization hasn't handled Medicaid claims before. This is strange, because I think that Medicaid and Yale Health have existed since the 70s-80s, and Yale has been "covering full financial need" for prospective students (allowing low-income students to attend Yale) since 2000-ish. (It's odd that they don't have experience with Medicaid--although I do remember this being an issue in the past--because if they don't deal with Medicaid, then that means that low-income students can't get access to prescriptions, even if they're medically necessary, while they're students at Yale. This leads to things like more hospitalizations.) It's now (January 16) been at least about two months since I last had access to two of my prescriptions (which I was definitely out of by November 24). Even before this, there were other preventable gaps in access to my prescriptions since I was discharged in October. I only have two semesters that I can get Yale Health coverage covered while on medical leave, which is concerning because it has now been weeks, and possibly even months, that I've been without all of my prescriptions, and it takes a long time to work up to a full dose after restarting a prescription. (Also I don't want to be and shouldn't have to be on medical leave for forever.) As well, they said you could speak to an on-call YMHC staffer 24/7 even though the main department wouldn't be open over winter break, but when I called I wasn't allowed to speak to such a person. (I spoke with someone in acute care, and they said the most they could do was have someone from Student Health contact me.) Today (it is February 2024) it has been 92 days since one department (not YMHC) first prescribed me a medication for a disabling condition. Despite consistent follow-up on my part, I still have not received the medication due to errors in paperwork that Yale Health is either consistently making or failing to fix. It has also been 13 days since I was prescribed a medication for an acute reproductive health issue, one that causes pain and discomfort, but similar to above I have not received it despite follow-up. The Obgyn department has been particularly bad. I had an IUD insertion scheduled at an outside provider, and the Obgyn department called to tell me that the Yale Health insurance department decided they wanted me to get the procedure in-house bcause it would be cheaper. I agreed to the last-minute change, and to my shock later discovered that they had scheduled it with a male doctor! To be clear, they had not asked for my consent to do this; they had not even mentioned it. What's more, when I called in to see if the doctor was in fact male, the person I spoke with didn't understand that someone with a name that "sounds" male might not actually be so. They clearly lacked even basic gender-related training, and the Obgyn department of all departments should have that.
Experiencia negativa: A uniquely awful health system- slow to give appointments, difficult to contact, generally not what you want from this kind of place
Experiencia positiva: They say they will provide procedures in a timely fashion and yet delay doing so by days or even weeks (or months).
Experiencia fantástica: Friendly staff. Extremely easy to get vaccinated.
Experiencia negativa: All the services are good my complaint is the parking,we had to go to acute care and they had a major emergency so by the time we left which was just over 2 hours the cost was 6 dollars they cut back on the free parking time and rip off people to make up for it. I pity the people on a fixed income who are there for a prolonged period!
Experiencia negativa: If you have coverage through Yale Health just pray you won’t get sick. To see someone for emergency care takes a whole day and for non-emergencies prepare to wait 2 months.
Experiencia negativa: For the ridiculous price they usually charge you they could at least give you a pillow if they're gonna live you there waiting 4 hours :) Thank u nurses and doctors, not your fault :)
Experiencia negativa: The wait time at acute care is ridiculous. Do better. Absolutely unbelievable.
Experiencia negativa: Take a look at the most recent reviews. I have had this insurance for a year through my employer, and every time I have interacted with them has been a headache. I've had to jump through hoops in order to get a prescription. Also, when I contacted their behavioral health department in order to set up an appointment, they suggested for me to instead pay OUT OF POCKET for an out of network therapist. What am I paying for?
Experiencia positiva: Coverage is wonderful but the Dr’s are very disconnected with their patients and there is often times long waits to see doctors
Experiencia negativa: Great care. Super Lovely male nurse, lovely doctor (Hussein) I believe. Only complaint why does it take 2 hours when there are only 5 patients and you're sitting there feeling miserable, and people sick around you. Is there only one doctor? I tried to call ahead and got no answer and drove there unannounced.
Experiencia negativa: Horrible, unfriendly and unhelpful pharmacists! I will avoid this place at all costs.
Experiencia negativa: Called ahead for flu like
Experiencia negativa: Absolute garbage of a hospital. Was diagnosed with a chronic disease a couple months ago, communication between the doctors is absolutely absent. The nurses act like you work for them and are extremely rude over the phone like they’re the ones that are sick. They’ve sent multiple prescriptions to the wrong location which is insane because how do you not make sure you’re sending it to the right place. Extremely lazy and negligent work from Yale. The name brings people but the staff and the medical professionals there are too busy for their own good. You can’t have multiple people with such different chronic diseases and not give the patients the care and the time they deserve. You wait 3 hours being brought from waiting room to waiting room for the doctor to see you for 5 minutes and not even listen to what is wrong with you. They already have their game plan and if it’s anything different than what they want they’re not going to listen. Sad a place with such potential is wasted with people who aren’t empathetic. Like why did you get a job in healthcare if you’re going to have an attitude with people because they’re sick. They obviously didn’t choose that lifestyle or dealing with your stuck up people. Bottom line absolute trash.
Experiencia positiva: Well it's only taken me about 5 times of going for my medication and saying all 5xs that I don't have a copay, then have to wait reach tone for them to come back and tell me I'm right..lol. so then I say can you mark a note each time and it never happens..so I got kind of excited the 6th time..oh snap it's a miracle. Got my meds and wait...... I didn't get asked for the copay!!!! Aww snap besides that..I guess I can say they're pretty efficient and super friendly..which is why all 5 times I didn't get upset just frustrated
Experiencia fantástica: My family had a wonderful experience with Yale Health. Worlds better than any other insurance/care we've had in the past, or likely will have in the future. Friendly, responsive, knowledgeable, and almost always free of charge. Amazing.
Experiencia negativa: 20 doctors and nurses and students ask the same questions, take a million photos. Then you wait in an uncomfortable chair for 7 hours for them to send you home empty handed
Experiencia negativa: As a new member (less than six months), I have been nothing but disappointed and horrified at how little Yale Health cares for patients. My communications with them have all circled back to metrics, practices designed for their comfort not the patients', and an obsession with health information systems. You have no/limited ability to choose your own physician(s). When pressed to make a change you are told by the new member rep that doing so "would be an administrative hassle" (I have this response in writing) and are subjected to a litany of complaints about how short-handed they are. (Not reassuring when you are seeking medical care.) When they do hire, they hire the least experienced practitioners they can find despite the fact that an older employee base prefers a more mature medical professional. At the time of enrollment, you are assured that making changes is very easy. With other departments, you are given information only based on who answers the phone, e.g., in April I called Opthamology/Optometry for an app't and was told the earliest I could get was mid-November. I called again the other day to find out options, got an app't for early October but advised that they could give a voucher for another facility so that insurance would cover the visit if I wanted/needed something sooner. I had another two hour phone conversation today with their outsourced/self-service behavioral health program who were very helpful but the Yale Health colleagues they called or additional assistance had no interest in helping to solve issues.
Experiencia negativa: They cancelled my appointment 3 times & delayed my job start date a month or so. Do not use for physical exams.
Experiencia negativa: Sub par system with the arrogance you would expect from Yale. I can't remember a time where I left satisfied. After the last instance I wrote an email to the complaint department just to have someone email me to let me know they would be in touch soon. It's been two weeks and I still haven't received a call.
Experiencia negativa: I went through the most horrific experience in OBGYN. I was verbally attacked and humiliated by the nurse manager of the department, Wendy Fazekas. This woman came into my room while I was unclothed and hurled false accusations at me with the door open, exposing me and completely violating my privacy. The most heart breaking part of it all was that I was there to follow up with my provider after receiving devastating news at my previous appointments. I am in complete disbelief and terrified to return as a patient. I am unsure why or what would make a person believe it is appropriate to come into a patient’s room and not only humiliate them but expose them and violate their privacy. Unprofessional cant even describe Wendy Fazekas’ behavior toward Yale members and patients. Please be cautioned when visiting Yale Health OBGYN.
Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed in the system especially the Urgent Care Center. My son called over 2 weeks ago with ear pain. They told him take Advil for pain and use nasal drops !?! Last night called urgent care they told him to go to emergency department at hospital. Pain in both ears. 1:30 am ED was seen at 7:30 am and has double ear infection. Come on…. You made him go and sit in ED for thus?!??? Why bother with Urgent Care we need a better system. So disappointed
Experiencia negativa: We've been going to Yale Health for four years and have dealt with numerous instances of disrespectful or condescending behavior. Unlike other healthcare systems we've experienced in the past, Yale Health has made derisive comments to my wife on many occasions, ordered incorrect labwork, made us wait 90 minutes for an appointment and more. Doctors have sent prescriptions that contradicted the recommendations of the Yale specialists we were also seeing, which made us feel concerned about the lack of communication between primary care providers and their consulting specialists. Our single consistently positive experience has been with the Pediatric Immunology clinic, which has always been organized and respectful during appointments for our son.
Experiencia fantástica: The Yale Infusion center is by far the best! Every single nurse and nursing assistant go above and beyond for you. I have never experienced care like this before. I was there for 6 hours and the amount of times they came in to check up on you.. you don’t find this care anywhere else, and therefore I am forever grateful! Thank you ALL so much for making this stressful situation turn into a breeze. (Believe it or not, can’t wait to see you all again in 6 months!) ❤️
Experiencia fantástica: everyone is nice and helpful. excellent service!
Experiencia fantástica: The service lady is friendly and helpful
Experiencia negativa: Shockingly irresponsible mental healthcare. Takes months to get an initial appointment which is just with a counselor and years to have access to Psychiatrist regardless of the severity of symptoms.
Experiencia fantástica: Best place ever for health ca
Experiencia fantástica: Stellar care for students and faculty.
Experiencia fantástica: Consistent, something CVS can’t be.
Experiencia fantástica: Great patient care
Experiencia positiva: Very helpful!! Friendly nurses and doctor's.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice health care facility. Doctors and staff are courteous and helpful across all departments. Online system makes it easy to schedule appointments or re-order prescriptions. Parking is also extremely easy and cheap, if not usually free, in the nearby garage.
Experiencia fantástica: Best place ever for health care
Experiencia positiva: Very helpful!! Friendly nurses and doctor's.
Experiencia fantástica: Love my Eye Doctor...takes great care of my old eyeballs!
Experiencia fantástica: Take note that summer operating hours and semester hours might differ. Check online for the most current operating hours.
Experiencia fantástica: Employer provided healthcare conveniently provided at work is amazing.
Experiencia fantástica: Doctors are spectacular - Yale strives to keep you healthy
Experiencia fantástica: Great caring place
Experiencia fantástica: Doctors are great!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Who doesn't love free health care in this day and age? Well, practically free anyway.
Experiencia negativa: Takes forever to have an appointment, nearly impossible to reach some departments by phone.
Experiencia positiva: They have good service.
Experiencia fantástica: My Doctor office
Experiencia fantástica: I've been a patient of Yale Health for well over a decade. Always received excellent care.
Experiencia negativa: Horrible experiences at Yale Health. I have received bellow standards, incompetent and negligent care, specially un the Urgent Hell (care).
