Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital: Opiniones
Experiencia negativa: I have withheld this review for several months because of the emotional and mental pain it has caused me. It's a couple of months late. I think now is the right time to share my experience. On Sunday 9/22/24, I was leaving a Bible Convention in Richmond, VA. I told a few friends I was hurting kind of bad before I left. On the way home my head began to hurt severely. It felt like blood was being forced from my nose to the top of my head. I thought I was having an aneurysm or some sort. I pulled over and googled the nearest hospital which was, "Mary Immaculate Hospital." The ER took me right in. My pain was so severe I was immediately given Morphine then was taken for a CT Scan. The doctor came in and asked,"If I would agree to a Spinal Tap?" I agreed. She looked surprised when I said, Yes! But I have been suffering for years in pain going from Specialist to Specialists with no clear diagnosis. The morphine had me dizzy and disoriented, everything was foggy but my head pain had not stopped The doctor came in again and said, I know what you're dealing with tell me more about your symptoms?" By then the morphine had taken effect and I could only mumble a few words. Shortly a male tech came in who I thought was taking me for the Spinal Tap but he said, "I have something to put in your IV." Groggily I asked, "What?" He said "A Headache Cocktail." I mumbled, "What's that?" Then asked, "What's in it?" Because I was wondering, "Why was I being given more pain meds when I'm so dizzy I could barely speak?" He named 3 things it was made of,all I remember is one, (Benadryl.) About 5 minutes later he came back saying, "You need to get up, get dressed before the medication wears off." I was so sedated I barely could dress myself. I stumbled down the hall. I didn't know why people were laughing at me until I got to the bathroom my clothes weren't on properly. "Why didn't a nurse or someone help me and why did they kick me out right after giving me all those drugs?" The only way I made it home was by the Grace of God. I remember climbing upstairs and getting in bed. When I woke it was 10:15am. That was unusual because I normally wake up at 5am. And I was still dizzy. Everything was foggy, I couldn't get out of bed. A day later I called to get a copy of the CT report. After leaving my Primary Care on 9/26/24, I drove back to Newport News, VA to get a copy of the report. I was shocked to read: "Surgical Clips in my right TMJ area with Chronic Deformity." So I googled, "Surgical Clips in my TMJ area only to find I out they should Never have been left there. I started crying because all this time the doctor has never told me. And all these Specialists I have seen over the years never mentioned it either. All the CAT Scans and MRI's I have had over the years. All the doctors ever say is, "They have found nothing in my test, I'm fine." I have been suffering for years and the ER doctor declined to tell me as well. Now I see why she didn't give me the Spinal Tap. All the infection and pain is from "Surgical Clips," left in my face! ............ This is what I mean about the medical treatment and care I have received here in Virginia. Doctors are covering for one another while I have continued to suffer in agony because of negligence, lack of empathy and improper care and treatment. Why has no doctor felt I needed to know? I have continued to have mouth pain and infections and swelling. Severe headaches, bleeding etc. Instead, in my medical report some doctors say, "I am Delusional." They falsify my medical report to make it seem as if I am Crazy covering another doctor's negligence. Now, I understand why people Snap and Kill! Doctors have taken an Oath to treat patients. So, tell me, "Have they abided by their Code of Ethics in my case? Of course not! I never expected to hear news like this! At this time, I'm Broken, Torn, Mentally & Emotionally Shattered...... But I have faith and trust Jehovah will give me the help I need with this matter. Naomi Tucker
Experiencia negativa: If I could give NO STARS I would…VERY UNORGANIZED…VERY INCONSIDERATE…VERY UNPROFESSIONAL…VERY INCONVENIENT…so much more I want to say….Just how do you schedule someone for a induction and right before the day of the induction you proceed to call and say it has to be rescheduled and pushed 5 days out!!!!!!! Help me understand…I have 3 other children and a job I’ve made arrangements according to my induction as well as my husband to be told it’s not happening!!! I had a gut feeling about this hospital from the start anyway…and they just proved my gut feeling right!!! They have no care in the world how there decisions interferes with someone’s life…LIKE THE DAY BEFORE REALLY!!! If this was the last place to have my babygirl at I wouldn’t…Iam going to try my HARDEST to go elsewhere!!!! I don’t want me having my first girl experience with this hospital AT ALL!!!!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Great hospital. But I recommend letting your insurance take care of any bill before you pay out of pocket. You may get asked "what can you take care of today", when really you can just tell em to bill you and let insurance see the dollar amount first. Bc you won't see that money back
Experiencia negativa: They ruined my birth experience! My support person was completely excluded and they lied about why! I had to have a c section , try ran into a problem (them being incapable of numbing me right ) they asked my support person to leave and they would come back to get her , they never went back to get her, put me to sleep , and after a few minutes the baby was being wheeled into the room with my support person, she was cut out of the experience altogether! I would not recommend them to my dog! The nurses were also rude ! Pressing on my stomach all hard and when i moved her hand she asked “are you refusing ??!” Just horrible! I’ll never go there again!
Experiencia negativa: Absolutely horrible. If you have Dr.Kasim(sp?) run.
Experiencia negativa: Went in for a possible miscarriage and the doctor was only worried about if all my kids had the same dad. She couldn’t give me any answers and didn’t put anything in for my doctor to follow up with 2 days later except for “light bleeding in NON pregnancy”. The intake nurse judged me because I didn’t say my religion and looked at me and said GOD BLESS before walking out. Only went to this ER because it was across the street from my house. Never again
Experiencia fantástica: I had my first birth here ❤️ I had maybe 3 false labor nights lol but the nurses were all super friendly and supportive of my birth plan. I had a natural birth. Although the pain I exerted during my 46 hr labor caused me to forget a lot.. my overnight nurse Stephanie was the sweetest woman I’ve ever met. If I get the chance to deliver at this hospital again, I’d need a special request to have her by my side all night long. But an amazing team overall. So clean. Quick emergency room (at 3am and 3pm).
Experiencia fantástica: I had my baby here Nov 3. Can say it was an excellent experience. The midwife and nurses were so kind and helpful during labor/delivery. The rooms were nice. My daughter ended up in the NICU and the NICU nurses were all just amazing. They made a scary experience so much easier for us to deal with. I’m glad that I went to this hospital to have my baby
Experiencia negativa: The front desk ladies were great especially the person working there for so many years. My issue was the guy who checked my blood pressure who asked questions was an asshole, the nurse who checked on me could have done better. After 8 years of being away I thought it would have improved but those two I mentioned ruined the experience. It would be my last time going back, it's safe to say that this is the worst hospital, but there are some excellent staff members but not enough
Experiencia negativa: Jason did the bare minimum in the ER
Experiencia negativa: Been in a room for over an hour no doctor has come to check on me. Then I hear someone in the hall say I don't even know who I've checked and who I haven't checked. Then I get checked just a talk with the doc and that's it. No testing besides urine and I was told to go to the ER because I'm 5-6 weeks pregnant. Just for them to push on my back and say sciatica nerve.
Experiencia negativa: My momma has cancer and this lady in the ER name badge says "ELLA" title says paramedic she has on red uniform. She was doing and IV for my mom using an ultra sound, my momma was shaking as she was moving the needle up and around trying to find a vein. Momma was grabbing the bed and looking like she was reaching towards the lady but controlling herself with the pain. This paramedic ELLA looks at my momma with a guaranteed face and says "IF YOU HIT ME YOUR NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY " and she repeated it twice. I looked at her told her she was rude and what does that mean exactly She didn't respond. I know the medical field can be rough but to NOT have compassion for patients is a definite problem. Ella had zero empathy making statements like this to elderly people. Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Newport News I'm sure this is NOT how you allow your staff to act towards people they are caring for.
Experiencia negativa: Was treated like a drug user. Nurses didn't have empathy for the fact that I'm dehydrated and my veins wouldn't cooperate, she jammed the IV needle in till I was screaming in pain. Then when the results of drug test came back in my favor, they released me and didn't even unhook leads or O2 sensor I had to unwrap it. Very distasteful and dissatisfied.
Experiencia negativa: Firstly, the nursing staff and doctors are amazing. The problem comes when the billing staff gets involved. In two separate instances, we have received bills for services rendered that were never billed through insurance. Both times have taken excessive amounts of time to correct information that billing staff put into their system well after we have left the hospital. Both instances were a result of incomplete information regarding insurance information, when all pertinent information was provided at date of service; insurance independently verified that Mary Immaculate had not submitted a claim for any services rendered. Additionally, Mary Immaculate made no attempt at contacting us about missing information and we were only alerted of missing information in their system after receiving a bill and subsequently calling customer service. If this happened only once, I could see it being a mistake, but it occurring two times in a row with our insurance on file appears to be an attempt to shakedown patients for money.
Experiencia fantástica: We were in ER this am, my husband had been bleeding from ear since the nite before, we saw Dr Donald Engle, he was so kind, profess., we shared our concerns and he was caring. finally got bleeding stopped. WHAT A WONDERFUL DOCTOR MY HUSBAND ON BLOOD THINNER AND 86 YRS OLD., I wish all doctors were like him. THANKS FROM FAISON FAMILY
Experiencia negativa: If you're having to see the liver specialist here, better have that will squared away.
Experiencia fantástica: I had a bad injury recently. I’m having physical therapy here. The staff is very nice.
Experiencia negativa: I have videos I've posted about what has happened here. I had fake ass servicemen blow kisses at my wife. I told them to apologize and security came out. I showed them videos they bullied me and my wife. The only reason I didn't go forward with what they all deserved is because I needed to be there for my wife. I'm still waiting for the mps to come and police to get her. I didn't call either. I tried to teach these kids.
Experiencia fantástica: Took my wife in for a procedure today and we encountered a nurse (in recovery) named Shawn. She was the most thoughtful and caring person that we have had the pleasure of meeting in a long time. Keep up the good work and thanks so much!
Experiencia positiva: Nurses are great, attentive to my mother. LOVE THEM. Attending doc on hand is not, doesn't seem to have it altogether and not thorough. Hard to understand as speaks broken English. Had to pull info out of her, spent 3 mins with Mom and didnt seem to really know my mom's full issues and concerns that were addressed in the ER. Had to request testing.
Experiencia fantástica: We had our baby on Saturday after 20 hours of labor. The staff is so wonderful! Especially tonight when we were so worried. They were so reassuring and helpful. The facility feels dated and the birth rooms are a bit small but the extras overweight the negatives. They have mommy free meals, lots of coffee or juice for me. Everything that we needed they had. We are so thankful for our daughter and thankful for the kind staff at MIH.
Experiencia fantástica: I just left Mary Immaculate after having a procedure. They were amazing. Staff was so helpful. They made my visit so easy and comfortable.
Experiencia fantástica: I was seen here for successful nasal surgery in late march. The staff is very competent and caring, and I couldn’t have found better care anywhere else. It’s likely that I’ll return again for other procedures/surgery in the near future.
Experiencia fantástica: I had surgery on my right hip this past winter at Mary Immaculate. Everything went very well, staff was friendly and when I had questions they gave me the information I was seeking!
Experiencia fantástica: I had an early morning procedure at Bon Secours MIH with Dr. El-Safidi on 06/27/2023. I was tired and not feeling very well. The nurses and techs were amazing! They were sweet and thoughtful. They treated me and each other with respect and and kindness. They made an otherwise unpleasant experience so much nicer. I especially appreciated the extra warm blankets. Even small acts of kindness can be so comforting. I want to thank Elaine, June, Chantel and Crystal. (Forgive me if I left anyone out!) I appreciate you all! Yours is a difficult job, but you do it to the glory of God. Thank you!
Experiencia fantástica: The doctors there listen to you they help you that's the best hospital and Hampton Virginia area and I need a list of all your doctors that are seeing new patients because I want to become one of y'all you took care of me when I got my leg inputated and I'm hoping you're going to take care of me now for surgery I'd love this Hospital and I won't go to another one thank you
Experiencia fantástica: I delivered my baby there recently. All of the nurses and midwives were absolutely amazing. They kept me informed of what was going on and really showed concern for me and my child. If I could give more stars, I would.
Experiencia fantástica: My mother had knee surgery today. Dr Snyder is just awesome! The whole experience was wonderful. Every employee there walks you to the place you are looking for. You can't get lost there. The staff and nurses in the surgery center were helpful, kind and attentive. The nurses in 2 south for room 204 were just the best around ! I wish I could really impart how great they were. They were so caring and attentive to my mother. The PT ladies were the sweetest I have ever seen! They were very upbeat and encouraging, just wonderful. Thank you so much for all your care today and God bless you all!
Experiencia fantástica: I delivered my baby here 3 weeks ago. I was so nervous because this was the first time Ive delivered a baby here. My other children were delivered at another hospital. When I tell you the staff here COMPLETELY exceeded all expectations. I mean from the admitting team to the friendly young gentleman that wheeled me to my car once I was discharged to go home. They followed all recommended guidelines of care for mom and newborn. The nurse that assisted with delivering my baby was so patient, kind, understanding, and knowledgeable with my care. Even room service was kind, from the women taking my food orders to the actual individuals delivering it. I wish I wouldve had my other children here as well. The only issue that I had was the size of the postpartum room. Its small but I only had 24 hours in the room so it was manageable and definitely didnt take away from the 5 stars. Everyone was completely amazing and I appreciate them all for making this experience a memorable one.
Experiencia fantástica: I could not have asked for a more attentive and kind staff of nurses. My L&D was a whirlwind but the nurses made it so smooth. The professionalism and level of care was amazing. Special shoutout to the NICU staff. Thank you for supporting us.
Experiencia fantástica: Someday you may find yourself in a place you have never been before, surrounded by people you have never seen before doing things the meaning of which you may not be able to imagine. It is a strange way to begin a new year, and it is how I began 2023: trusted by my beloved wife to the kindness of strangers on the staff of Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital. Generally speaking it is safe to say, I think, no matter how comfortable it may be or how considerate or skilled individual staff members are, no one should wake up in a hospital unless he or she needs to be there. Frankly, I do not have professional skill to be “reviewing” hospitals, and if I never have to enter another hospital again in my life, I believe I will be very happy. BUT FOR THIS EXPERIENCE. I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WITH WHOM I HAD CONTACT FROM MY ADMISSION TO MY RELEASE, and write this very amateurish “review” to reassure all those who find themselves maybe a little bit surprised and a little bit scared: this is your family, too—-and you will learn to love ALL of them quickly!
Experiencia fantástica: Most sweetest staff I've ever encountered at a medical center. Blew my mind. Very considerate of me as their patient.
Experiencia fantástica: My daughter and son-in-law had a baby boy on 1-11-23. The nurses and midwife were awesome!! They were very professional and kind. We came in from Arizona and were so pleased with everything. Thank you, again!!
Experiencia fantástica: I had an outpatient surgery today at MIH and the entire experience from the time I got there until the time I left was fantastic! The staff was not only professional, but very caring, empathetic and really listened to me. They explained everything that was going to happen before it happened and made me feel very comfortable. After my surgery I was in a lot of pain and they didn’t hesitate to let my surgeon know, so it could be taken care of. Not only that, but my surgeon, Dr. Douglas Leach checked in on me before and after his last surgery for the day. The nurses were absolutely amazing! I would recommend this hospital to anyone that needed to have a procedure done! 10/10 recommend!!
Experiencia fantástica: I feel this hospital is very underrated for the area. Emergency care is quick and efficient. The doctors, nurses and all staff are very competent, professional, and friendly. I was a Riverside fan until it became obvious they are unable to diagnose a dam thing. Also their ER is always overcrowded.
Experiencia fantástica: I went to the ER on Friday August 13, 2021. I was experiencing chest pain and have been diagnosed with cirnary artery disease small heart attack. Due to it being so busy and not having an heart specialist I had to be sent to Maryview in Portsmouth, Va. I ending up spending the night in the ER until a bed at Maryview was available le and transportation could arrive to take me by ambulance. The ambulance arrived very early and the two attendants were just great. Once arriving st Maryview I received a call from my neice that my sister had passed from cancer. She was only in Hospice a few days. Everyone was so kind and prayed with me and gave co dole cec at Naryview. I so apperciate all your support doing my care and grieving. Thank you to everyone at both hispitals.
Experiencia fantástica: The Doctor that I just saw tonight was very helpful and caring. While Sentra isn’t giving two ishs about people. They’re main concern is getting you out of there. Thank you Bon Secure. At last a facility that cares
Experiencia fantástica: I just delivered my first baby at Mary Immaculate. The nurses and doctors were all amazing. I really appreciated the option to do a pre-check-in before my due date to review paperwork, go over my birth plan, and ask questions. I wanted a natural childbirth, and the nurses were super supportive. I definitely plan on returning for my future childbirths.
Experiencia fantástica: If you are considering hospitals for child birth, you can stop your search and rest assured that you've landed on the best in the area. My wife and I cannot thank the Labor and Delivery department at Mary Immaculate enough. Our pregnancy ended up lasting almost a full week, and each and every one of the nurses went out of their way to ensure we were well-informed, comfortable and prepared for each step of the journey. The following nurses went above and beyond what can be considered the "requirements" of their profession, alway demonstrating smiling faces and bubbly personalities, albeit behind a mask; I apologize to those whose names we failed to learn: - Arial Norton - Courtney Mann - Cherice - Kristy - Trish - Kate - Kristie - Jhon When the time comes for us to have another baby in the future, these individuals made our hospital choice easy.
Experiencia fantástica: My 3 night stay at Mary Immaculate after emergency surgery was excellent. The Medicine unit took great care of me and Three South was outstanding. I could not have asked for better care from the compassionate and professional staff, including room service (good food too), hospitalists, RNs, aides, housekeeping, phlebotomists, and anyone else that provided care.
Experiencia fantástica: My surgery went well and all of my nurses were nice and kind .Surgerical unit nurses and also when i arrived to the 3floor Nurse Bree and night Nurse Futua was very sweet.
Experiencia fantástica: I've been meaning to write a review for awhile now ,but with a 2 month old ,I've been busy lol!! I delivered my daughter here in Jan 2020. I can not say how supportive and caring the nurses were the entire time I was here. The anesthesiologist was AMAZING, I cant thank the night nurse..sky was her name She was so special to me . There was another nurse there too honestly forgot her name ,but I saw her everyday and she was amazing too . I highly recommend delivering here. They were welcoming to my doula as well and just very supportive and patient as I tried so many differnt positions before caving into a c section. . The doctor who did my c section did an amazing job too. My scar looks fantastic. This hospital looks a little dated , but who cares!! The staff was perfect ,also the food was fantastic too .
Experiencia fantástica: My first time to come to this hospital. I walked-in and from welcome front desk with beautiful ladies that volunteers, to registration, to ekg and blood work, nothing but heartfelt welcoming, helpful, friendly, caring and respectful staff. Thank you so very much.
Experiencia fantástica: 3rd Floor Nursing Staff are Incredible Caring Professionals Completed surgery in the Surgical Pavilion on Feb 4th 2022 and was then transported to the 3rd Floor Main Hospital in-patient area where RN Robin and RN Ashlyn provided superb in-patient care. Both work long hours (15-hr shifts) at the hospital because of current RN staffing shortages and one (RN Robin) has a long commute to/from the hospital, but they still delivered top quality care around the clock. You won't find better, more capable professionals in the nursing field --they are super knowledgeable, thoughtful, personable, and really look out for their patients (unlike many Doctors who fly thru the in-patient area at the speed of light). These two RNs are the closest thing you'll find on Earth to Guardian Angels. I'll close in saying those in the medical profession generally and these two ladies specifically risk their lives daily (COVID) and are heroes (by anyone's definition) who deeply care for and provide stellar treatment for their patients. I highly recommend this hospital and its top notch staff.
Experiencia fantástica: I love this hospital, it's clean the staff is so friendly and professional. They care about your health and when having a procedure done they overly communicate it with you. Every morning they have a prayer or Bible Scripture over the hospital speakers. This hospital is known for religion so ita your personal belief to go. But the hospital is super awesome.
Experiencia fantástica: Been thinking about a review and here it is! I've been operating on by Dr Hartke 4 four different occasion 2018-2022 with success for bladder cancer. I've found nothing is perfect in life a couple of small IN fractures happen while at the hospital they were taken care of. The last operation was one where the staff made a distasteful situation into a good situation all of them from the front desk before the operation to after the procedure. I will say without reserve thanks to all who assisted me you were great. Retired Army Master Sergeant
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing staff very personable and tentive! Rn is really sweet the lactation specialist are the best just had my daughter Monday still here in the hospital and me and my spouse are amazed by how amazing everyone has been! They gave us an amazing birth experience!
Experiencia fantástica: I gave birth a week ago and I was absolutely terrified to be induced and the doctors were aware of my very high anxiety. Going into the room I had very little trust in the doctors because of my anxiety but that was very quickly turned around. I couldn’t believe the way the treated me at first and I am so grateful and blessed with the experience I had. They gave me 4 hours to decide when I was ready to be induced!!! They were so incredibly patient with me and understanding and they treated me, my boyfriend, and my daughter very very well. THANK YOU MARY IMMACULATE!!!!
Experiencia fantástica: I had a C-section here on 2/5/2021 and I really feel the need to write this review. I cannot say enough about the team of people that helped bring our baby boy into this world. Everyone was so kind and answered every question we had. Dr. Deyerle is an amazing doctor who shows alot of compassion and care for his patients. He is knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. The nurse we had caring for us before we moved to recovery was Stacey and a huge thank you to her as well. Her kindness and experience really had a calming affect. I do not recall everyones name as sleep deprived is an understatement, but I really do appreciate the care and professionalism of this team of people. They made a very scary situation as good as it could possibly be. I would absolutely give birth here again.
Experiencia fantástica: I had surgery on the 29th of July for a lower back fusion. From the time I checked in for surgery until I was discharged the following day I had excellent care. I've been in other hospitals for various surgeries and I can honestly say it's not even close. Everyone that was involved with my care, I give you all 5*'s.
Experiencia fantástica: I was reading reviews on my way to my husbands back surgery, and started getting very nervous. There were a few very unhappy people. But our experience couldn’t have been better! The staff is caring and conscientious, the hospital was immaculate, and really has its act together. I did accidentally go to the emergency room at one point and it was running smoothly and patients seemed satisfied with things. Everyone was so friendly! We came all the way from North Carolina, and it was worth the trip. Excellent is an honest and unbiased rating.
Experiencia fantástica: We had our baby girl delivered there last week and it was a great experience. The staff was wonderful and truly wanted the best for us. They made certain we were comfortable at all times during and after labor. The follow up was very consistent. I can’t say enough about the doctors and nurses. The hospital was a little outdated but very clean inside and didn’t really have that hospital smell. We will be back again for the next child! Thank you to all that was involved to help bring our baby safety into this world!
Experiencia fantástica: I have been inpatient at Mary Immaculate Hospital three times in 2019. Each time I was admitted I received excelkent care. They not only cared for my physical well being, they also caredfor my emotional and spiritual needs. I was treated as an individual, not just another number. There are many hospitals closer to my home, but I will akways drive the twenty miles to MIH. It is well wirth it for the excellent care and peace of mind that I have when being treated there.
Experiencia fantástica: Our experience at this hospital was amazing, the best I've ever experienced at any hospital. ALL the staff was friendly, helpful and professional from the time we entered to the time we left 2 days later. The staff here are genuinely happy and it shows throw their actions and smiles. Bon Secour, keep up the great work with your employees. My mom had hip replacement with Dr. Clark, an exceptional surgeon. She was up on her feet and walking the same day with 0 pain. Thank you
Experiencia fantástica: The labor and delivery ward is absolutely amazing! All the staff, nurses and midwives are wonderful! Had my supernatural birth there and couldn't be happier with the experience. Definitely recommend. I don't know anything about the rest of the hospital though.
Experiencia fantástica: this review is really just to offset some of the negative reviews. Covid19 has affected hospital protocols. Pre covid19 I gave birth to my twins and all of my requests were honored. In the past 16 years I have visited this hospital's emergency room over a dozen times between myself and my 3 children and the wait times have been on average non existence and the staff professional and courteous.
Experiencia fantástica: I guess I got really lucky. I had a really good experience here. Yes there was a bit of waiting time to get blood drawn and the rooms were not the cleanest by any means. However, from the lady at the front desk to the lady who drew my blood, every person treated me great. I hate hospitals and have never had a good experience in one. This is my first five star review for a hospital or doctor. Doctor Jeffry Dickson was absolutely AWESOME. He was a Godsend. I wish he was my primary doctor so bad. I left feeling so much better and cannot thank him enough for being so caring and thinking critically and reaching out to experts for me too. Just wonderful. Thank you Dr.Dickson
Experiencia fantástica: Staff, nurses, and doctors were extremely friendly, and willing to help. Wait time wasn’t long at all and the doctor listened to my concerns and gave me a detailed diagnosis of what she believed to be wrong with my son. I felt like a human and not a number I highly recommend this hospital.
Experiencia fantástica: I have been in twice within the last couple of months. 1st was a headache that felt like a lightning bolt, and the 2nd was a dislocated shoulder. I am very happy with my treatment here. The nurse's, admitting and Doctor was very respectful and kind. It was not a usual dislocation as I fractured the Hill-Sachs so my shoulder was not cooperating. I ended up having to be put under to get the shoulder back in. I'm glad it was Mary Mac emergency I chose to go to.
Experiencia fantástica: I can not thank the ER staff enough. The team was so nice, thoughtful, and professional. Nicole, Chelsea and Dr Morton were all wonderful. Nicole, in particular, was a doll. She was so helpful and thoughtful and what a sense of humor. She laughed at me and made me laugh at her. She was just the distraction I needed from thinking the worst was happening. Dr Morton was thourough and kind and took the time to explain exactly what was happening. He checked in on me and made sure I understood ever step. Great team and a terrific outcome. I am very appreciative.
Experiencia fantástica: I had surgery in May. The staff was so kind to me. One nurse even went out of her way to find me something to eat in the middle of the night. I was so sick after surgery I couldn't eat until almost midnight. It was a wonderful experience.
Experiencia fantástica: This has been one of the most pleasant experiences my wife and i have had with any surgical procedures. The staff were bright and very kind, helpful with all needs taken care of. any questions or requests were dealt with immediately - food was very good and you can order special anytime during the day. i would highly recommend going here (wife had l4-l5 fusion which is very hard procedure - they made it much easier to deal with)
Experiencia fantástica: I had knee replacement surgery at Mary Immaculate. My care from pre-surgery, through out post surgery was great and attentive. My recovery has been on target. Enjoying life without pain. Thank you, Bon Secours...
Experiencia fantástica: Best hospital in Hampton Roads, hands down. My grandfather is in the ICU with a ventilator, which is very scary for the family. The doctors have been with us from day 1. Also, I was born here so I've basically known the hospital from the beginning of my life. Thank you Mary Immaculate! The family will continue to use you for our emergency and other healthcare needs.
Experiencia fantástica: Yesterday I took a friend to the Emergency Room at Mary Immaculate. We were there for 5 hours and the care she received from Dr. Marica and the entire staff was exemplary. The attention to detail, thoroughness, and kindness by everyone was refreshing! Thank you Mary Immaculate.
Experiencia fantástica: The E.R. staff made my 5 year old daughter feel very secure. They were extremely nice and caring. She loved her doctor and nurse team.
Experiencia fantástica: We were nervous about this hospital after reading so many negative reviews the night before my husband's surgery. Every person we had contact with was friendly, helpful, professional and courteous. Dr. Carter's waiting room was clean/private and his staff and receptionist were funny, informative, attentive and thorough. The Post-OP nurses and PT staff were very nice, patient and willing to answer any and all questions. If I even hesitated in a hallway, trying to find some place, whomever was walking by (in scrubs or with a laundry cart) would offer to help me. Easy to get in and out too. Very positive experience for us. The only small beef I had was the cafeteria closed for the day at 2pm and our surgical spot was 1 1/2 hours AFTER it was scheduled, so by the time I was free to get something to eat, Subway was the only place to eat. Gross.
Experiencia fantástica: I just want to give a special thank you to Jamey who works on the labor and delivery floor. She is the BEST nurse anyone could ask for. She helped ease the pain during a time where I didn't know that was possible. I was in the hospital for about 3 days, with my first nurse being Jamey. Once she left me after the first day, I kept telling my family how I wanted her to come back. Two days went by and my wish came true. Jamey came back and I gave birth to my baby boy who was stillborn, with her by my side. Her compassion, words of wisdom, and high spirit, really helped to comfort me. I will never forget her. Thank you Jamey ❤
Experiencia fantástica: I accompanied a friend to the ER. Dr. Hutchison, the attending physician was what anyone in an emergency situation would hope for. He not only evaluated a very difficult situation, talking to doctors in another hospital out of state, but stayed with us throughout the process of deciding next steps. He stayed beyond the end of his shift time to make sure that all was arranged for the next days. Unmatched compassion, true commitment and remarkable care. I will never forget this.
Experiencia fantástica: My girlfriend and I went in on April 22nd to give birth to my beautiful baby girl. The staff was immediately attentive and took to all our needs, questions and concerns. During birth they coached my girlfriend and supported her through the whole process. After my girlfriend was done pushing, we were given skin to skin time with only necessary interruptions. Once the three of us were moved to recovery, the nurses took my daughter to the back for her bath and I was invited along with them. I was asked if I wanted to help, as a new father I was reluctant so instead I was walked through the process as they did it. During the remainder of our stay, the nurses would check on us as needed and tended to our concerns. Prior to release they ensured my girlfriend and daughter received the best possible medical attention, and they did. A big thank you from myself, my girlfriend Rebecca, and our beautiful daughter Gracie.
