Experiencia fantástica: West Coast Recovery Centers (WCRC) is an amazing, life changing place to assist anyone struggling with mental health or substance use issues. They offer a supportive, kind, and professional environment that truly creates a feeling of group and inclusion from the minute of intake. The Case Manager(s), particularly Melissa A. really know thier way around the systems commonly needed or used by clients (i.e DMV necessities, EBT applications etc). The therapists (too many to name) also ensure that you are heard and seen, validating your experiences, although not allowing for the space to become a plateaued pity party, gentle pushing you into the more uncomfortable areas of yourself in order to bring out the best in you. WCRC offers a large variety of therapeutic practices; from the typical CBT, DBT, and Process Groups, groups such as Art Therapy, Sound Healing, and Yoga help the therapies feel less like a monotonous cycles and more like a class period you attend each day. On Fridays, the center does 'Adventure Therapy' where the group goes on outings, such as hikes, beach days, botanical gardens, and more. They also offer Sober Livings in tandem with recovery, places where you can develop closer relationships and friendships with others who also attend WCRC. Shout-out to the Mental Health Technicians (MHT's) Bryan and Jackie for always being someone that I could come to with an issue, offer real world advice and mentorship for soberity, or simply just to hang out. Overall my time at WCRC helped me find a renewed faith in myself, kept me accountable on a sober path, and allowed a space for me to process my co-ocurring issues in an emotionally safe and supportive environment. I would highly recommend West Coast Recovery Centers for anyone who wants to put in the work to better themselves.

Experiencia fantástica: This was my first time going to treatment. Looking back on my initial negative attitude, thoughts, and judgement towards treatment especially West Coast oh was I so so wrong. Let me tell you this was BY FAR one of the best choices I have ever made! The experience I got here was love, support, and pure joy and happiness. Who would have thought? There is so much more to this place... what I learned was absolutely fascinating, mind altering, and beneficial to my health. The BEST PART though for me is the STAFF! They truly care for me and I look up to each and every one of them. They picked me back up and brought out the best in me. They have a special place in my heart. I am forever grateful to have met them and have them in my life. It's hard to not wanna leave west coast but my time it is at an end. Experiencia positiva: WCRC helped me a lot at a very dark time in my life. With the staff's support and care, I was able to tough it out and stay in the program for longer than a month. The different therapeutic modalities offered are very helpful, such as yoga, DBT, sound healing, and more. My favorite part of the program was going to a sweat lodge for the first time. It was a very spiritual and great experience.

Experiencia fantástica: If you or your loved one are looking for a post-detox treatment center, I highly recommend West Coast Recovery. You or they will be greeted by a caring and nurturing intake team who will arrange housing at one of their lovely beach front/adjacent apartment complexes or homes, a therapist, a case worker, will attend group therapy sessions from 9-4 M-F. They are one hour long and use all the latest and most efficient modalities available. There is no doubt in my mind that everyone employed here cares deeply about helping people recover, it is by no means easy, but with willingness and surrender is very much possible for miracles to happen here!! I have hope for the first time in my life and am looking forward to rejoining society. I graduated a couple months ago and when I arrived to detox, my life had become completely demoralizing and unmanageable. I didn't know places like this existed or I would've asked for help much sooner. I now have a full time job, live in a wonderful sober living that they recommended for me and am developing a wonderful new set of friends within the sober community which is thriving and supportive here in North County San Diego. Everybody was very easy to work with and they took great care of our restrooms during the two month rental. Love what they are doing

Experiencia fantástica: This morning I got to wake up another day sober,. Something I have wanted and prayed for and hoped for, for many years throughout my addictions. I can without a doubt say that this wouldn't have been possible without the support and the kindness I was shown from the staff and community at West Coast Recovery. Their program gave me a place to heal, to process, and to learn to believe in myself and my self-worth. Their holistic approach to recovery is not something I had ever considered wanting, but realized early in the program that it was exactly what I needed. The sober living experience they offer while in the daily program really solidified what my life could be like in sobriety. A comfortable, beautiful home, close to the beach, and surrounded by people who all had the same drive to do whatever it took to be sober. I cannot recommend this program enough. Not only did it save my life, it set me up a life of success and gave me the gift of community that I never knew I needed. In nine days, I will be celebrating six months of sobriety. I am forever grateful to West Coast Recovery and their unbelievable program.

West Coast Recovery was the best rehab center/IOP/sober living I had ever been to, and the only one that gave me the gift of lasting sobriety after I left. The staff genuinely care about you and are top notch, the environment is kept incredibly healing and positive with no allowance for drama like you normally see in sober livings and recovery centers. Many of the staff are in recovery themselves and very empathetic and supportive. The Walnut House by the beach was the closest thing I ever experienced to a home while I went through recovery; the entire experience opened my eyes to new passions I never knew I had and so many ways to enjoy life sober. I am still very close to so many of the girls I met when going through here, which is saying a lot considering I have severe trust issues with women—but the environment at West Coast helped me work through some of my trauma and fears and connect to other women on a level I never did before. Altogether it was an amazing experience and I would not change anything about West Coast if I could. I can’t recommend it enough.

The group facilitators encourage clients to dig deep in group and be vulnerable. The therapists here are really involved in their clients recovery and growth. When I felt unstable and decided to advocate for myself Janna & Annalise fought for me to get more time until I felt comfortable enough in my recovery to move on from the program. I felt I like I really found a reason to stay sober while In treatment here and I found the people who will continue to support me along the way. This is a program that won’t just push you along, the staff are vigilant and dedicated to your growth and recovery and are invested in their clients success. This place was exactly what I needed and I’m so grateful to have found Westcoast.

Experiencia fantástica: I chose to go to WCRC for outpatient treatment in March. I had previous experience with the Center and I had no doubt that’s where I wanted to go. The staff is so supportive and helpful with both recovery program as well as assistance with outside matters like disability, housing assistance, getting to medical appointments and more! You get individual sessions with a therapist and a caseworker. The group sessions are varied and introduce you to different therapy types, group processing, mindfulness, intentional living, meditation, sound healing and more. I have mobility issues and they were totally accommodating to make sure I was involved with activities. You get information about different outside recovery types; 12 step based, Refuge Recovery, and Smart Recovery, so that you can explore them and build your own support community. There is a great Alumni program so that you can get together for fun events and see friends that you have made at West Coast. I would recommend their program to everyone that needs support on their recovery journey!

It has such a perfect balance of Eastern and Western medicine. Lots of cool opportunities arise when you commit to a stay here. Insane ropes courses, which will inspire you...adventures every Friday...educational and fun groups which are truly unique...and, most importantly, getting to work with amazing people who truly work to understand you (if they don't from the get-go). Come with an open mind and you will not regret your stay here. Prepare to work hard, play hard, grow strong, and begin to HEAL - not only from any "ism" you may have...but from the inside out. Beautiful connections are fostered here and they have a great alumni coordinator who helps you continue to grow those connections after your stay. So glad I wound up here. I didn't think it'd be for me, but I was very wrong about that! West Coast has my heart and I am forever indebted to this program. ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: West coast recovery has been life changing for me! For the first time in 15 years, I'm living a sober life. Ive been sober 9 months and counting. I feel blessed that I found their IOP/OP program and sober living house, they exceeded any expectations that I had. The owner, counselors, discharge planners, and class facilitators are top notch. I'm living a life now that seemed impossible. I'm very grateful for them and their program/sober living environment. They are still a huge part of my recovery to this day. West Coast sets people up for success! I would highly recommend them to anyone that is struggling with addiction issues.

Experiencia negativa: I went to West Coast Recovery in 2014 and I liked it. Activities were fun. I did relapse when I left and a few times after that in part because the timing of when they made me leave was bad. A few days before Christmas, I went home to an empty house and a very lonely holiday with a lot of temptation that I was not prepared for. I have heard since then that this is a habit of theirs. Poor planning of releases. When people's insurance money runs out, they get shown the door. I met a few women lately that are also "graduates" of West Coast. One, a former tenant of mine, Heather, said every person she ever knew that went to West Coast has relapsed because they don't really care about people, they want insurance money. She said they made her leave at a very bad time for her and she was traumatized. She said that they do that and then let people come back if they relapse, so their insurance kicks in again. Heather actually had nothing good to say about West Coast. I felt bad because I referred her. I had nothing to compare it to, but Heather has been in several rehabs and sober livings. I guess management has changed since I went there. That was not my experience, since I never tried to go back and I didn't have insurance, but Jen and Katie spoke of similar experiences with people they knew. I do know a few other people that I am FB friends with that went when I did and they relapsed also. I can't say for sure their record for graduates relapsing, but I would do a lot of research before sending my loved one there.

Because of their dedication to upholding a high standard of ethics, WCRC is my first choice when referring my clients to a higher level of care.

Experiencia negativa: A family member went here. While the place is nice and scenery is beautiful, the program should be better for the price. He was supposed to be there for at least 45 days. They began letting staff go and releasing ppl who were not ready bc they were closing down certain parts of the program. My family member was one of the ones released early. And yet, we were charged, and are still being charged full price for everything. Even though he did not get the benefit of the complete program. Looks elsewhere ppl!!

Another rehab just collecting insurance but no actual concern for your well being. Stay away if you want to have a supportive recovery environment

I was in the girls house on The Strand and all the girls were just a big family and even with the guys house, we all go to IOP together and it’s juat a huge family. I definitely will recommend anyone to go here.

Experiencia negativa: West Coast Recovery provides an amazing diversity in the program experience. However, they do not provide solid individual support. If your a relapser, if you need special attention and/or are older, this is not the place for you. My own personal experience is that it's a place to process people in recovery and not a secure place that provides support for individual recovery.
