Experiencia negativa: Went to see the nurse practitioner 3.5 weeks ago for extreme lower back pain. I could barely walk. I asked her to send in an order for an MRI of my spine and she refused and told me to just ice my back and that it’d get better. She said that if it didn’t get better in 2 weeks then she’d send in a referral for the MRI. It has now been 3.5 weeks, I am STILL in tremendous pain, and she STILL refuses to send in a referral until I go see a different dr at scripps who works in pain management/rehabilitation. Why in the world would I go to a rehabilitation specialist when they won’t be able to figure out what’s wrong without an MRI? Scripps is just trying to get me to spend hundreds more on appointments that will do nothing to help me or my pain. You guys need to be better. Medical professionals are supposed to actually WANT to help people. I’m finding a different doctor.

Experiencia positiva: This is a small facility. Though my Dr is no longer here I continue to use this facility for labs and radiology. They are usually not too busy so there is never a long wait. The staff at this lab is wonderful.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Farida Valgi is the best!!! So happy I chose her. She takes her time to listen and communicate with a patient and never makes me feel rushed. Appointments are quick and easy to schedule. The nurses reply back to my messages quickly. I was also able to walk in and out of the lab and received my results fast.

Experiencia negativa: When I scheduled the appointment for the PA to explain my lab results, I was told my insurance would fully cover the visit. I was still charged $180. I tried calling to fix this and was put on hold for 30 minutes so I gave up. This has happened everytime I have visited a Scripps medical center. Scripps will squeeze the most money possible out of its patients

Experiencia fantástica: The Best Doctor I've had all my life ( I'm 61 ) Polite professional team ( except one incident which was immediately corrected ) I felt Dr. Huizar ( and Josie his assistant ) was like Family . Great , when he gives you a proper chance to speak he listens . Makes proper recommendations . He's just the Best . I don't understand the negative reviews - Staff and Doctors are the absolute Best Team for your Health Care needs . I hate getting Blood Drawn . It can go from perfectly smooth to very Painful with black and blue marks afterwards but that's just the luck of the draw - Some are very good and some are not . Even when you call you get the kindest caring service . Love Scripps , the absolute Greatest Healthcare Team .

Experiencia fantástica: I visited the HealthExpress clinic last week for a PPD skin test for work (only $20/free with insurance). The office was empty and I was seen immediately. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional. I was offered a work note by the NP, which she typed up for me in less than 5 minutes and I walked out with in-hand. I couldn't have had a better experience! I definitely recommend this location for non-urgent medical needs.

The earliest appointment I could schedule was Oct 10. 5 months to wait to see a doctor is that normal? I can't wait that long I have changed back to my original PCP its a drive but not a 5 month wait.

Experiencia negativa: I find that appointments with my PCM are hard to come by in general. Today at my appointment I was told by my physicians nurses I coud not be seen, because the doctor was uncomfortable seeing me. While staff in the health express have been pleasant and helpful when I've come in, the one star is for the primary care side. Had it not been for health express I would not have gotten my severe ear infection taken care of and honestly who knows when my doctor, who practices medicine in a family practice setting, would be comfortable enough to see me again. If health express was it's own entity I would give them a 5 star review. Sadly my primary physician, their team and the office supervisor deserve a solid 0 stars. I would not recommend my physician and their office to anyone.

Experiencia positiva: The quality of care is great. The quality of scheduling, customer service, and insurance authorizations is mediocre. The people are nice, that's not the issue, the issue is there seems to be a lack of internal communication. I have noticed that they don't seem to have a robust note taking policy for their administrative staff. I had to have 4 separate conversations over the course of 4 days to explain the same thing to different people. It wasn't complicated, I just needed blood work done according to what my Doctor (who works for scripps!) had asked, but it seems no one took notes or properly scheduled my appointment. I have also previously had incorrect insurance charged. Further, messages on the Scripps portal they tout all the time have all gone unanswered. Idk why they have that system if they dont use it.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently moved to the area and was looking for a pediatrician. Everyone I spoke to recommended Dr. Silverberg. She has a reputation for being extremely knowledgeable, thorough, friendly, and taking her time with each patient. I walked into the office with my daughters and with very high expectations. I am pleased to say that she EXCEEDED my expectations! I know how busy medical offices are these days and it’s normal to go to an office, wait forever to be seen, only to see the provider for 5 minutes and then be rushed out the door. This was not the case at all. The MA who took my girls Vitals and did their vision and hearing screenings related to little ones so well. She was engaging, positive and fun. A great start to set the mood at a scary doctors office. Dr. Silverberg addressed every concern a worried mother could have. She gave each of my daughters individualized attention, was kind to them and made them feel safe. She answered all questions and provided great education. Not once did I feel rushed or feel that she brushed over a concern. And at the end of the appointment both my girls got stickers and a surprise! Yep, my kiddos can’t wait to go back!!! We will be following Dr. Silverberg for as long as we can. I feel so lucky to have her as my girl’s pediatrician and I (like so many others) recommend her 100%

Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed with how my Husband was treated yesterday, not by only 1 worker but 3. He works graveyard shift and was told to fast before his blood work. He went right after work to get his blood drawn.The guard harassed him about his mask, I understand there are rules but the guard was being petty. Than the receptionist at the desk was being snappy at him too. He went to the lab and the receptionist there was rude and told him he needed his papers for the blood work after she asked him if he was fasting. Knowing he was fasting, she denied him to draw his blood or go the extra mile to call his Dr. for the papers. So he left cause his blood sugar was low from fasting, when he walked out the guard and front desk reception were staring at him and talking bad about him in a rude manner. I cannot believe this type of treatment was done, they don't know his health issues and were totally insensitive. He had to go back today for blood work after getting his papers to be told he didn't need the papers... Ridiculous!!!

Experiencia positiva: My wife is severely hearing impaired but she reads lips. Because of the staff having to wear masks we have purchased masks that have a clear panel so that I may accompany her and "translate." Why can't Scripps provide Doctors and Nurses clear panel masks to accommodate ADA patients. If she was missing legs, Scripps would supply wheelchairs.

Experiencia fantástica: I started with Dr. Fenton over a year ago. I had been frustrated with my prior doctor and went to him based on a friend's referral. I can't tell you how grateful I am that I found him. He was able to diagnose an issue that was assumed to be nothing by a prior doctor. His demeanor is so pleasant and he takes his time with you. It has been a long time since I found a doctor that I would never want to leave. I am blessed to have him and highly recommend him to anyone. Also, his staff is amazing: courteous, patience, kind. When told that she may have Strep Throat, they said only a video conference would be available! After urging the triage nurse for a strep test, he said it wasn’t possible due to possible COVID-19. She was turned away, and was seen at the Vista office with no problems! This was ridiculous and a waste of time

The lady was rude, dismissive, and incorrect in every assumption she made -- thank goodness we didn't waste our time coming in! Experiencia negativa: Update 01/31/2020: It's been almost a month since I wrote this review and still no one has cared to reach out to me, except the person monitoring their social media feed. She told me on 2 instances that someone will reach out to me, but it seems no one cares. I went to this clinic for my annual physical and talked with my physician and he ordered a bunch of tests. I thought it was a normal annual physical that I've been having since past 5 years, but to my surprise I received a $400 bill a few weeks after my visit. I dug deeper to see what the charges were for and found that the physician requested tests that were not covered by my insurance. I called my insurance company and found that the tests requested would not be covered by any insurance, as those are not part of "annual physical tests". SO definitely it's not because my insurance is bad. I called the physician's office to ask why these tests were ordered and I was told the doctor ordered it as it was my first visit. On top of that the physician himself described me as a healthy individual. Then my question is why were those tests ordered! I specifically told them that those tests were not requested by me and they were ordered without letting me know that I'd have to pay $400 for them. To that I got a rude response saying told I should've known what my insurance covers. But as a matter of fact the office did not give me an opportunity to review anything before the tests. My blood was drawn and I was sent home. I got the reports the same day evening! How am I supposed to review anything? After this I was told that someone from the management side will contact me and I never received any call from anyone and they're sticking all these charges on me! It seems that either the doctors are not knowledgeable enough or they're trying to make money off the patients. Really bad experience, bad customer service and wouldn't advice to visit this office. If you happen to visit, I would advice to demand what they're going to do before they hand you an exorbitant bill that is not even necessary!

Experiencia fantástica: My experience with Angel Ochoa – My former PCP in Escondido Scripps. I have had a total of 6 medical appointments with Dr. Ochoa. During my first appointment he was very professional, nice, helpful and made me feel welcomed. I will always remember how he made me feel welcomed. I was not familiar with Scripps, so he explained every little detail about the company. For example, the fact that there is an online website to obtain results. He is a hardworking MD. He takes his time and does not rush the appointments compared to other Scripps providers I have seen. He is a MD who instead of following the saying “work smarter not harder” he just works HARDER! I’m a female and I’m in my mid twenty’s so I do not have major health issues however every major concern I had Ochoa listened to them and assisted me with my issue. He moved to 4318 Mission Ave Oceanside, CA 92057 and I’m saddened because he was my PCP in Escondido. I’m thankful for whoever decided to hire Angel Ochoa.
Experiencia fantástica: We had our 9 month well baby visit for our twin girls today with Dr. Olga Rose. I have been meaning to write sooner, but that's life with twins. Olga is so knowledgeable, professional, organized and most importantly, easy to talk to. She makes us feel important and ensures all of our questions are answered. Whenever we need outside help, such as a lactation consultant, she makes sure to provide more than one resource so that we have options. I feel so lucky that we can call Dr. Rose our pediatrician!

Experiencia negativa: While the care isn't subpar, everything else is deceitful. I went for a physical and the appointment was changed without my consent from an annual physical to a focused visit which I was then charged for plus the partial physical they didn't complete. Made an appointment to complete the physical and have been billed again because whoever made the appointment didn't schedule it as an annual physical and have been given the run around about getting it resubmitted to insurance correctly. Talk about dishonest. Will never go back.

Experiencia negativa: I came to this medical facility for the first time in August. I met with a NP regarding redness in my eyes. The NP was puzzled and had no theories as to what I may be experiencing. I decided to share with her some of my googling research on my symptoms and thoughts I had on a diagnosis. She quickly agreed with my research and suggested I see an eye doctor. I am now stuck with a $150 bill for educating a NP with information from google. I am beyond annoyed.

Experiencia negativa: HORRIBLE. Margarita Cuenca whom works here in patient advocacy was so rude to us. Left several messages w her she calls back sounding heavily medicated and can't remember basic things. Not sure if she has a drinking problem but I had to repeate my email 6 times to her and she still had trouble writing it down. She started speaking very condescending to me and when I asked her to stop she said she was a manager and can speak however she wants. Horrible she needs to be drug tested and fired.

Experiencia negativa: Completely unimpressive. From the LVN to PA to phlebotomist. This was my first and last visit. The LVN gave off such a snobbish attitude towards me and I felt she was judging me the entire encounter. The PA decided it would be an appropriate time to talk to me about some of her heath issues... entirely unprofessional. The phlebotomist decided when she missed my vein to blame me because "I couldn't take it", so she had to stick me again. I've worked in the medical field for the last 7 years and I would have never imagined treating one of my patients the way scripps treated me. Your customer service sucks.
