Experiencia positiva: Good hospital but I was put into a room with another patient and she watched tv all night and talked on the phone all night so I didn’t get much rest or sleep, the 7 days I was there. Seeing the doctors was almost impossible too. Food was very good and nursing was great.

Experiencia negativa: 89 yr old mom fell; severe head and neck pain, waiting now 7 hrs in ER waiting room. Ridiculous wait time especially someone in so much pain! Will not ever use this facility. New KU management has not improved services.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give 0 stars I would. Had surgery here surgeon had complications during my procedure and left me with major pain. Nurses don’t care and leave you in your room press the red button and saying they’ll come but rarely do. DO NOT HAVE SURGERY AT THIS HOSPITAL DRIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Experiencia negativa: There is no communication between nurses and special departments like cardiac unit. I was admitted because I was told that was the only way to get a eco cardio gram. My nurse checked on me twice in 5 hours! I went to get a stress test after waiting 5 hours and during the time I was gone the eco unit came. They said they would be back in 30 min and never came back and said I would have to wait until morning because they were going home! Patients do not come first here. If you have a cardiology issue don’t come here!

Experiencia negativa: My sisters were in a car crash, minor injuries but wanted to be sure. Seen by separate doctors and treated completely differently. We were here for 7 hours. The nurses didn’t care to check in on us nor the doctors. Someone would come in, we’d be left alone for 2-3 hours, go to the nurses station to request to be followed up on, and so the cycles repeated itself. Getting results for an x-ray took almost 4 hours. Go literally anywhere else.

Experiencia negativa: Took my wife to the emergency room when only one other patient was there, had to watch her cry in the waiting room for over an hour before they’d even take her in! The staff didn’t care at all, they were rude, they said they had no rooms available but when she finally got back there were all kinds of open spaces! This is not acceptable!

Experiencia negativa: Limited options for bill payment/financial assistance. Much less than other health systems we've dealt with. Also billing seems to be very vague for our very large bill. Online portal only said "medical service" for ~10 lines of charges. Seems very low effort and dishonest to patients.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently had chest surgery at OMC and was in the hospital for just short of 36 hours. The surgeon (Dr. Ashley Mann), her cardiothoracic team, and ALL of the OMC staff, from the anesthesiologist, pre-op nursing staff, surgical nursing staff, third floor nursing staff, respiratory therapy staff, and food services staff, were AMAZING! I was so impressed by everyone's caring attitude, their anticipation of my needs before I even asked, and the food! I had dinner, breakfast, and lunch while I was there and it was all great and the staff who delivered it were so nice. Thank you to everyone at OMC for the great care you took of me and the care and concern you showed to my wife.

Experiencia negativa: I went to the paola Dr office/urgent care for difficulties breathing racing heart and heart palpitations. When I revealed I take a supplement she, the nurse practitioner had never heard of, she basically said the supplement was causing my issues and if I stopped it, they'd resolve. Well, good thing I got a second opinion. I ACTUALLY am in very severe heart failure. With a 10-15% ejection fraction. If I had listened to the woman I saw here, I'd definitely have already or would very soon die without treatment. Definitely do not recommend. This is so sad and INFURIATING.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT go here for medical help. When the incompetent “Dr.” Phani Attaliuri, can’t figure out what’s wrong with your GI tract, he’ll literally scream at you and accuse you of “habitual marijuana use,” (despite multiple collegiate athletic UAs that prove otherwise). Because marijuana hypermesis syndrome is their go-to excuse for not being able to correctly do their job. A referral to someone with some intelligence and compassion probably would have been the way to go, “Doc.”

Experiencia negativa: Recieved text reminder for ENT appointment coming up. Called to cancel appointment & was told "you still have an outstanding balance that is now in collections". Excuse me...I've only been there once and that was a year ago & haven't recieved anything telling me this! Lady was very short confirming my address and guess what...it was wrong! Apparently they had it as Street & not Place. She then proceeds to tell me she is having a hard time getting the system to accept Place....probably why I didn't get the bill. Asked her why I didn't get an email MyChart notification or a phone call. She stated that they don't do "any of that". Baffled!!!! Never received an apology. Paid the outstanding bill over the phone & won't be returning to this clinic!

Experiencia fantástica: 01/31/23 I went back to Olathe Medical Center ER this new years eve morning. My knee continued to be very swollen and I could barely walk. Filled out registration paper work, spoke with receptionist and ladies who take your vitals when you get there. To their surprise and mine; they did find in the computer data base that I was there the night before, I was seen but there was no details of what happened. So thus time I was taken to a room, I was seen by a real doctor, who did xrays and confirmed that it was true. I had liquid inside my right knee and that was the reason why it was so swollen. The doctor had the nurse prepared the anesthesia, tools to make an incision, put in a plastic tube and drained the liquid out. The Doctor did everything himself. Cleaned up the knee and wrapped it up. Sent me home with medication for pain. I was able to go home early and welcome 2024 with my family. It was not the hospital fault, it was the student practitioner's lack of care for me. She just didn't want to take the time to tend to my need or call a doctor to check me. New Year's Day early morning, the ER Doctor who took care of me; called me and asked me How was I doing? If I needed anything else. I do appreciate him for taking care of the problem with my right knee. I am glad that there's good doctors that do care about the people they see in the ER and their office. I am thank ful for his care, attention and kindness with my health. He's a great doctor and good person for helping people with health care needs. I learned that from then on, when going to the ER or Urgent care to be seen by a Doctor only, no nurse assistant or physician assistant.

Experiencia positiva: They lost all my cloths and shoes on my recent stay and then use the line that they have a form that states they are not responsible for anything. They must have assumed that I came to the emergency room in my birthday suit. No reason to even look since they are not responsible.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot tell you how wonderful this hospital is. Trust that it is. From Taylor with Echo imaging to Lilly in insurance and Megan RN on floor 4. Your staff is superb. The food is excellent quality the cardio team and staff saved my husband's life and for that, we are eternally grateful. The director of floor 4 walked us out after discharge and delivered a beautiful card from the staff who cared for my husband. I cannot say enough about this hospital or its staff. Thank you so much! I will forever be eternally grateful for the wonderful way we were treated at your facility. Award winning stroke and heart teams....and now, I see why. I highly recommend this wonderful hospital.

Registration, nurses in pre-op, surgery and recovery along with the anesthesia team and my surgeon made me feel warm and well taken care of. I can’t thank them enough for the care I received! Dr. Long is so caring and in all she does you know she ALWAYS wants to give her patients the beat care!! Thank you Olathe Medical Center for such a wonderful experience!
Experiencia fantástica: My mom was recently admitted through the ER and she had a great experience. The doctors, nurses and all support staff were above and beyond. Irene was one of the nurses that just blew us away! She deserves a medal. Thank you all for taking such great care of my mom!
Experiencia positiva: Every visit - and there have been several in the past 12 years - the staff has been exactly what I expect in such a facility. They demonstrate an appropriate level of care for someone in their field, and many have gone above and beyond to demonstrate that they do care despite their personal need to not form attachments to those in their care (for their own well-being). There is nowhere else in the metro I would rather go.
Experiencia fantástica: I was in for a surgery in July. The entire staff were amazing. They were prompt, attentive, and professional. I had to come back the day after discharge. I had a pneumothorax. The ER doctor and nurses were go attentive and caring. The CT staff were also great, and professional. I'm so glad that I was in the hands of Dr. Opie, and the staff at OMC. My only complaint on my 2nd admission was the bed. Very uncomfortable, kind of like an army cot.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been to the Olathe Medical Center ER half a dozen times in the past ten years -- never anything major but they've usually been relatively quick and they've always been friendly.
