Orlando Health & Rehabilitation Center: Opiniones
Experiencia negativa: Orlando Health & Rehabilitation Center has the absolutely worst phone system I have ever encountered. I will say it’s deplorable considering the delicate patients they are caring for. There is no excuse for having to call 18 times and be disconnected 17 of them before actually getting a human or even a voice mail. tried again today actually got the front desk, got transferred to Social Services. The phone Rand for 30 mins, no answer, no voice mail. This was an issue pre-hurricane and still continues. They are short staffed and yet are incapable of integrating a voice mail system or having a contact directory. Am considering a report to the State of Florida ombudsman.
Experiencia negativa: My family had to have our loved one there for the last couple of months and it has been absolute hell. The worst place I have ever been to, and I am a nurse who has done clinicals in many facilities and this is one of the worst I have ever seen in my life. My loved one had no true nursing care as her nurses didn’t even know what oxygen was what the machine looks like how to work the machine they would leave her soiled for hours. She had a tracheostomy and she would be there full of secretions with vomit all over and their staff has an excuse for everything when brought to their attention they stated their nurse educational fair was canceled due to the hurricane Helene, and apparently that is why their nurses are uneducated and don’t know how to actually work in care for patients as a nurse nor do they show any empathy or treat your loved one or your family with any kind of respect or anything mind you our loved one was one of the only residents that they did not have to shower change her bedding or anything because me and my family went there on a daily basis to do so. And to know that we were there daily and continuously seen these things and made comments and spoke to supervisors and spoke to unit managers and spoke to the DON etc., and it got nowhere and things just continue to happen. I can’t even imagine the people in that facility that have no family visiting them that were just kind of dumped there due to that reason and have to live in that type of place and deal with these type of things. I highly recommend if you’re considering this place you truly do a walk-through and it be the extreme circumstances last resort because this place is equivalent to just being homeless outside in the streets. I also have many receipts of everything that I am saying and on top of everything that I just said the facility consistently smells like urine is dirty. CNA‘s are nowhere to be found majority of the time call bell will be ringing for hours before someone comes and the nursing staff will give you an attitude when you ask them why no one has came to your mother‘s room after she’s been sitting there With her call bell for over an hour. Meanwhile, there is nursing staff and staff sitting at the nursing station just talking and writing things down whatever they’re doing but yet no one can go and check on the patient that is complete bed bound unable to move walk talk anything It is just sickening. Also, when I asked if I can take our loved one On a leave so she can come home to her family for a couple hours. We were told that they don’t have any suction canisters that are portable but during the hurricane, they pulled out a handful of suction canisters that are portable and rechargeable, but they told me that I could not take my loved one for four hours like everyone else gets to if they choose because they don’t have a portable suction canister. So glad to have gotten her out of that facility due to all the negligence that was occurring since she arrived. Prayers for you and your family if considering this place.
Experiencia negativa: I recognize that a few employees go above and beyond. But, they are understaffed and it shows. The cleaning is questionable. I asked several times when my mother was going to be released and no one new, then I was told that only the insurance knows. Therefore, they just want to keep the patient there as long as possible to get the money. My mother was transferred there from the hospital for physical therapy. We we arrived there no one knew my mother was going to be transferred, the personnel was not aware neither ready to receive my mother. Once there I waited 45 minutes and we didn't even get a "Good evening". I have to ask the personnel what was going on and only then they started to work on my receiving my mom. I told one of the managers: You have some exceptional employees. But, the administration sucks.
Experiencia fantástica: I had the pleasure of being with the staff for CNA week in a partnership we had and was able to get to know the staff a bit more. They are beyond dedicated, they truly care about their patients and residents. New admin is doing great things for this community ❤️
Experiencia negativa: This is the worst place ever I really regret ever putting my mom in here the nurses was very unprofessional insects in the room just nasty and I believe this place helped the death of my mom
Experiencia fantástica: I was very impressed with the Orlando Health & Rehab Center! The facility was clean and the staff treated me, as well as my relative who is now a resident ,with care and professionalism . This is definitely a family friendly facility that I would recommend!
Experiencia fantástica: What impresses me most is the genuine kindness, patience, and dedication of the staff, the management team. They treat each resident with dignity, respect, and love, making a real difference in their lives. Thank you, Orlando health & Rehabilitation Center, for providing a haven where our loved ones can thrive.
Experiencia fantástica: My loved one has been a resident for years and I can share that facility has shown to have an enthusiastic group of new leadership that has already made their imprint for professionalism, increase of excellent of quality of care and accountability. The facility has more of a home environment for the residents and the precious odors are much better. The changes in leadership are really making strides in changing the culture and give the residents a much better quality of care in such a short timeframe. I’m excited to see what’s to come.
Experiencia fantástica: Love to see the CNA appreciation this week as they are the backbone to your facility. Excellent job!
Experiencia fantástica: As a traveling associate, I felt instantly welcomed into a warm and caring community including not only the staff, but the residents as well. I am indubitably going to miss the joyful and uplifting atmosphere, the spirited events developed by leadership, and the everlasting friendships I’ve developed over my stay. The new staff and leadership are determined to revolutionize a new era of long term quality care.
Experiencia fantástica: I recently toured this facility about 3 months ago while attempting to help a family friend find long term care for her aging father and I wasn’t too impressed. However, revisiting on yesterday…what a difference! As a RN I was thoroughly impressed by said difference! We seem to have come during a week of celebration for the staff and it looks as if even the patients were in great spirits celebrating the staff. I do think the new Director has a big part to do with this transformation and I am happy to see it. I look forward to seeing how my friends father transitions here and seeing how the facility grows!
Experiencia fantástica: CNA week this week has been a blast to see. The building was full of superhero’s today!
Experiencia fantástica: My experience with Orlando Health and Rehab Center has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by their friendly staff who made me feel instantly comfortable and welcomed. What truly sets Orlando Health and Rehab Center apart, however, is their dedicated team of healthcare professionals. Each member of the staff demonstrated genuine compassion and expertise in their field, always going above and beyond to meet the needs of every resident. Their commitment to personalized care is evident in every interaction, making me feel reassured that patients are in capable hands. Furthermore, the activities and amenities offered at the center are diverse and engaging, catering to both physical and mental well-being. From therapeutic exercises to social events, there is always something enriching for residents to participate in. They have exceeded my expectations in every way possible, providing not just care, but a true sense of community and support for all their residents and their families.
Experiencia fantástica: Very well organized and amazing staff
Experiencia fantástica: This place is amazing. I’ve been for a few visits and it’s awesome to see management presence in the floor. It really adds to a homey, warm feeling.
Experiencia positiva: So my Grandmother is elderly and has been living at this facility for a few years now. She had frequent falls because shes un balanced. However, my grandmothers last place all they did was provide her medication and everytime i saw her she was always medicated and not aware. Before placing my grandmother here I read reviews but everyone has there own perspective on how things should be and what they expect and how things arent going right. I am not too sure since im not with my grandmother at this facility 24/7. However, I do get worried on how shes doing at night and if they are taking good care of her and attending to her. I get phone calls throughout midnight at times stating that she has fallen and they did an X-Ray and shes okay. However, personally me during the times that I visited my grandmother i havent seen any imaging machine, but im not sure if they have a place for it and they storage it some where. I am the only family member of my grandmother that is living and I try to visit her when I can (weekly) What i can say is that i do get updates by phone and when something happens Orlando Rehab does take action and my grandmother does go to the hospital if theres something major. There has been a few times where Orlando Health and Rehab will tell me one thing and the Hospital at Ormc will tell me another thing. I have had those type of incidents. But for the most part when i do visit my grandmother shes getting fed, shes getting medicine and they do take her out to socialize with the other family members there and they do paint her nails and when I visit her shes always clean and has a different outfit on. One thing about this place i must mention they end up losing belongings a lot. I have bought my grandmother new clothes, labeled it and for some reason it gets lost. Personally me I am not the type that will get upset for it because I know not everyone there has the money to afford things but it would be nice if my grandmother had some clothes that werent misplaced or lost. I brought in a picture frame when she first moved in and it seems to Be lost and no where to be found. Clothes and blankets seem to be shared with everyone there. I also bought tooth brush, tooth paste etc not sure if they are brushing her teeth. Like i said im not there 24/7 to monitor what is happening behind closed doors. I just have hope and faith that they are treating her well and with everything so expensive and with my grandmothers income theres not really a whole lot of places to move her too even if i tried with the income she has. So i just have to have her close to my heart and just hope for the best. When i see my grandmother she looks healthy, she does have her good and bad moments of remembering and she will tell me everyone is nice and treating her well. I have personally seen the truck that brings the facility food and the food that they do make looks very good. Sometimes i get jealous of my grandmother because she gets better food than me. However, i am not sure if they feed your loved one if they dont eat. Do the staff chat a lot! Yes, its very hard to get someone that works there to help you with questions you may have. However, I am not there behind closed doors so i just hope and pray for the best that the nurses or anyone at the facility isnt hurting my grandmother in various ways.
Experiencia fantástica: I'm a current resident here. I think the staff are very nice and caring. All and all the place is good, very clean and friendly.
Experiencia fantástica: Me gusta la gente aquí, muy buena trabajo!
Experiencia fantástica: Everyone is excellent at their job and work hard and good with all the patients
Experiencia fantástica: Thanks to social services for going out of their way for me! They helped m
Experiencia fantástica: Me gusta trabajar aqui!
Experiencia fantástica: Love melissa, she helps mẹ always
Experiencia fantástica: I’m a nursing student and I chose Orlando Health & Rehabilitation Center to do my class project proposal at. All I can say is this facility is amazing!! I’ve had the opportunity to tour the facility and provide education to the fellow residents. From the start, the activity director, Lissandra has been nothing but the best; extremely helpful and professional. At the facility, there is another wonderful employee, named Summer. I was able to sit down and talk amongst the residents and to Summer as she made sure the ladies were feeling good about themselves as she took her time to paint their nails (she’s an amazing artist). I’ve been to other facilities around Orlando, Florida, and this one has been nothing but the best. The amount of amenities, hands on care, cleanliness, support, and love for their residents this facility offers is beyond words. Please go check this facility out! You won’t be disappointed.
Experiencia fantástica: I recently had the opportunity to visit Orlando Health and Rehab, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of exceptional. The level of care and the compassionate environment provided by the Administrator and her team left a lasting impression on me.
Experiencia fantástica: Noelli in social services has a beautiful spirit and she is always smiling she is a very respectful young lady you can talk to her about anything she gives the best advice in the situation and she is very helpful with anything you need I wouldn’t trade her for no other social work
Experiencia positiva: Near the end of January 2022, we were at home and had to take our daughter to ORMC ER, again. Her walking had become nonexistent this time and a few other problems. After a few days, her drs team advised "time has come" for her to be placed in a Center. We wanted her to be near "her" drs & hospital so we selected OHRC. We visit her often and we observe staff. Some of the front desk staff knows us by name and/or knows who we are visiting. We try to greet staff in passing. Because of privacy, I'm not listing names but a few CNA's/staff are a Gem among a few others that we've seen with our daughter. Our various contacts in The Administration areas works hard and does a great job for the many residents in the facility. Sometimes, it does take a while to get an email response but the majority of times, it is a reasonable amount of time. There are too many names to list individually, but for the most part, we haven't had any issues and the minor ones, were immediately handled. We've taken personal things to have in our daughters view to help her "feel at home" & staff has helped us to make it happen. NO matter, how small or big, one might think a concern is, Communication is important to all. Phone contact is sometimes hard to reach certain areas, their system doesn't have voicemail, which, we think might be a big plus if the system is capable of. A complaint can become a compliment, remember, Communication goes a long ways and both ways. It takes EVERYONE to make a positive happen, the resident/patient's, family/caregiver AND the facility staff. If one has a concern, until you get to the right person, you can't get the concern handled. Almost a year later, we're still learning/coping with these "life changes". The biggest concern to all is "our loved ones care and well being, everyone should want the best for them". THANK YOU TO ALL from our daughters family!
Experiencia fantástica: Five stars for caring staff! Building is clean and staff was helpful.
Experiencia fantástica: The OHRC is the most culturally diverse facility in Orlando! We have so many staff members who communicate with our residents in different languages and who are familiar with their cultural differences, which really helps them provide focused attention specifically for residents.
Experiencia fantástica: I am proud to have worked in the admissions department for the last year And proud of how this facility serves the Central Florida community in its partnerships with Advent Health and Orlando Regional MedicL Center for both Long Term Care and Short Term Rehab. We have a very caring and responsive nursing team who work extremely hard to provide quality care to all of our residents.
Experiencia fantástica: I had a pleasant experience with the family member here everyone from the staff to administration or courteous kind and took care of all our needs I truly do appreciate them and thank them for everything that you do it if I can give 10 stars I would give 10 stars
Experiencia positiva: My mother was at facility for about 2 months. She received very good care from all staff members . She was able to FaceTime with us during Covid 19 and my sisters and I were able to see her thru court yard fence with mask on and made us very happy. I work in different facilities for my job and I was pleased with everything that occurred while my mother was there. I like to give extra praise to rehab , they worked with my mother very well and was able to walk again.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff took excellent care of my nana! Very quick to respond and address any concerns we had during our stay. Wonderful experienc
Experiencia positiva: The lady at ORMC lie about I see my dog at the plac
Experiencia positiva: My grandmother was there for 2 months. I feel she received great care from the staff.
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely high quality servic
Experiencia fantástica: Orlando Health and Rehab has gone above and beyond to assure all the residents are safe and comfortable during this pandemic. They took action right away to prevent a COVID spread and continues to do so day after day!! Impressed by their focus on continued family involvement during this long term care facility lock down! The Health Care Heros at Orlando Health and Rehab are hardworking, dedicated, and compassionate!!
Experiencia fantástica: Amber Siry is an absolute blessing....she has been there for my mother and been a complete helpful member of this establishment. She has taken extra time out to assist my mother and probably alot of other patients. Such a blessing to know someone like her is caring for my mother.
Experiencia fantástica: I have been at OHRC for about 3 months as an intern from UCF. So far I’ve had a great experience working here. The staff is very friendly and helpful with the residents and their coworkers. They are willing to answer any questions I have as well pertaining to the facility. The cleanliness of the facility is superb you can always find someone cleaning. Within the 3 months of being here, I have already learned a lot and always look forward to learning more each day. I have been able to personally interact with the residents and it’s always a good feeling to be that person to lighten their day.
Experiencia fantástica: A very unique place and style.
Experiencia fantástica: Being part of OHRC has made a major impact in my life. I have been working there for 3 months and I can honestly say Ive learned so much. The staff we work with is a group of intelligent, kind, and hardworking individuals. The facility overall is always maintained clean, the dining room is kept to par, and the cleaning staff are always doing their job constantly which is important because we work with sick patients. I do feel as if OHRC impacts the community in a safe and positive way because it takes care of the community, if anyone needs special attention, we can take care of those elders who are not able for themselves.
Experiencia fantástica: I started here as an intern back in January 2019 and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience. There are so many caring staff members that are more than willing to go the extra mile for residents and to help each other. The housekeeping and maintenance staff works especially hard to keep the facility clean and functioning smoothly. In the past two months alone I've seen so many improvements within the facility: a renovated and beautiful section of the facility, the dining room program that keeps meal times going has really kicked off and blossomed, new ideas being implemented into the activities department to improve patient experience, and a caring and responsive administrative team. It is a privilege to come into work everyday to see how much OHRC does for the community it serves.
Experiencia positiva: I am currently a patient here and I must say I have been in quite a few rehabs especially up north and I must say a way better place between cleanliness, staff and doctors. Sure I ran into a few snags however, Lisa the unit manager is awesome she jumped right in and handled my concerns and reassured me it won't happen again, thank you Lisa. Other than that overall friendly staff as well as residents. I seen other reviews rating them low and stating their case. Everywhere you go someone will have issues and complaints yet, from what I've seen and heard this place took a 360. Yes they are still working on things yet again that's with all places. If I had to come back once I leave I definitely would.
Experiencia positiva: I arrived 1/23/19 so far I have received Professional Services.
Experiencia fantástica: Clean environment, friendly staff, patient safety and good management.
Experiencia positiva: Long wait time for nonresident related matters.
Experiencia fantástica: I started as an Intern in this facility 7 months ago, and my overall experience was an extremely positive one. I was hesitant to start, however once learning the departments, and becoming more involved I learned how patient centered this facility is. The nurses and the CNAs have made care their top priority, as well as responding to call lights efficiently. The facility is kept to the highest standard of cleanliness, and Housekeeping responds immediately. This facility is unlike any other, and treat the residents like family. Each staff member has a positive attitude, and want you to reach your goals.
Experiencia fantástica: I have been interning at OHRC for about 2 months and absolutely love it. The employees treat each other and the residents as if they are family. This allows for a compassionate environment to work in and live. The facility is always very clean and organized. The executive director is genuine and caring and you can see the way it affects the entire facility. I hope to continue my time here as an employee and grow as a person.
Experiencia fantástica: I have been with OHRC for 6 year and I can truly say I have seen this facility turn around. When I first started we were a 1 star facility with plenty areas for improvement! Although improvements are always being made, now a 5 star facility and we have carried it for months. Between the renovations and the new staff the building has made a complete change. You can truly see the love and compassion every employee has for their job but most importantly the residents! I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of the Orlando team!
Experiencia fantástica: Early in January 2019, I started as an intern at this facility. The employees here work hard to ensure that residents receive quality care in a clean facility. I feel that OHRC is a commendable example for providing a community with quality care, an example that I can say I've learned much from. Additionally, there have been many improvements that I've seen since becoming an intern, including renovations. I have had a positive experience in my time as an intern thanks to supportive and competent staff.
Experiencia positiva: Physical Therapy awesome they work miracles! The food however is not good. Have family cook for you if possible. If not, order delivery!!!
Experiencia positiva: Mi hermano tuvo un buen progreso en sus terapias, aunque pienso necesitan mas personal, las que tienen son amables.
Experiencia fantástica: As a former employee I wanted to share my experience with anyone who is interested in working for or bringing their family to this facility. Orlando Health and Rehabilitation has recently changed their administration and is now under the administration of an excellent Executive administrator that has brought his expertise of over 20+ years in the healthcare field to be able to transform this facility into what it truly deserves to be. There are so many hard working people that love their jobs and love to help people during some of their most difficult moments. Like many other facilities, there are difficult moments but the tremendous amount of positive change that happened just in the year that I worked there showed me that this facility is headed in the right direction! Look for yourselves, Medicare.gov transparently evaluates each facility, this facility had 1 environmental citation (no patient care citations), the numbers speak for themselves. Go to Medicare.gov and type in this facility and you will find the most recent inspections by the government, compare them to the previous years and you can see a distinct and marked change in the numbers. This is because of the undeniable hard work of excellent employees and unmistakable excellence in its current leadership. My educational track unfortunately led me to a different work setting, but I would definitely work here again, for this excellent administration and along side a tremendous team if my career path leads me back to Orlando Health and Rehab. The care that is provided in this facility is excellent, my great-grandfather came for rehab and for me to trust my great-grandfather's care in their hands says a lot about how much I trust the staff, the care, and the facility. I recommend this facility to everyone that I meet and I would definitely recommend it to any healthcare worker looking to join an excellent team!
Experiencia positiva: Good folks there are taking good care of my broth
