Experiencia negativa: Id give this place NO STARS!! They are just terrible... My mother in law was left for over an hour with her pants down and not 1 person would answer her call light or help her. I had to call the front desk and demand someone go pull her pants up! They refuse to get her out of bed when she wants to. The social worker is damn near useless.. we are currently working on finding a new facility for my mother in law... Edit: Fast forward to the day we took her home... Nurse gave my husband his mother's meds before leaving, when we got to the house and got every set up he went to grab the bag of meds... All her meds were in the bag but... So wasn't another patients meds!! I just don't understand how this place is even allowed to operate anymore!!

Experiencia negativa: My daughter is 40 years old ' could be thriving and improving but nobody does there job ' we have been waiting 4 months for pain management ' the food and nurses are awful ' they steel her clothes and never give her mental health therapy ' the only one in the whole place that is friendly ' caring ' helpful and answering my calls is Candy in the business department ' I report solely to the department of health now because nobody cares about the clients ' moving my daughter is hard because every place is full

Experiencia negativa: Place is run down. The staff don't take care of any of the patients . they are way under supplied . my uncle had to change his wrappings his self. They left a piss bottle full to the brim sitting on my uncles table for 2 days. Place smells of mold. An the staff are rude. They could care less about your loved ones .

Experiencia negativa: Phone is ring for 30 minutes before an answer when they do finally answer your on hold for about an hour hard to check on family members they act like they are keeping you in the dark always 3out of 10 rating just working for a check not interested in the patents should be closed for a day care for pets

Experiencia negativa: My family member was on second stay there and they again stole his clothing, they had sent him to cancer ctr for chemo in a johnny and he was filthy.. cancer ctr had to give him blanket because someone stole his coat and all clothes ,They were not cheap clothes. Place is absolutely horrible The director Maureen is rude and a liar

Experiencia negativa: The worst place in the world! The building is old, dirty, the nurses are so rude . Patients calling for help and they don’t care! Everyone in there is rude especially a nurse JOYCE THE WORST! They don’t clean the rooms the bathroom, this place is disgusting!

Experiencia negativa: If you care about your family or friends don’t let them go to Bannister. Without speaking to family this facility canceled my dad’s doctor’s appointment to go over his cancer. The excuse from administration was “we didn’t know he had cancer” despite the facility knowing he had a PET scan because they took him to the appointment. They don’t give my dad the proper medication. He and his children have repeatedly told them the proper medication. They claim his release instructions from RI Hospital were confusing, yet I a non-medical professional can read the instructions without issue. They force him to take cold showers. They can’t follow his dietary restrictions and he regularly doesn’t eat dinner because of it. The physical therapy is lackluster and not actually challenging my dad so he can get better. Additionally, the facility has lost his laundry going on five days now. 11/2: My dad is now released. Despite a meeting with staff a week before his release almost none of the issues resolved. The last two meals he was served he couldn’t eat because again the facility couldn’t even follow dietary restrictions. Update 11/13: The Facility has failed to provide required help after release. They were supposed to order him a rolling walker and shower seat. His insurance has confirmed no attempt to request this has happened. They also were supposed to provide in-house PT and nursing assistance. Bannister’s social worker Sonia claims his insurance denied it. Speaking with his insurance they have no denied anything and never recieved a referral request. For 11 days my dad has not had the care he required on release. 11/15: Bannister’s Head of Social Services, Sonia, has actively lied about ordering In-House Nursing/PT services and assistive devices. She tried to blame my father’s insurance company and made up a caseworker named Shirley Price to back her claims. I spent over an hour speaking with my Dad’s insurance, there is no Shirley Price, Bannister/Sonia never put in a single request or referral. My dad’s PCP confirmed this as well. Now, Sonia is claiming it is difficult to process because my dad is no longer a patient. This wouldn’t have been a problem if she had placed referrals a week prior to his release. I will say it again, if you care about your family or friends don’t let them go to Bannister. They will be abused, purposely and maliciously. They will likely need a hospital stay after their time there.

Experiencia fantástica: My mother has been at banister for about 40 days . I was skeptical before we got there since I heard bad things in the past. But my mom had to go there for rehab. Banister's staff is amazing, the place is clean. The front office staff does anything they can to help . The pt & ot staff are fun energetic. I could go on & on over how pleased we are to be at banister. When moms time is up there we will still be visiting.. they treat us like family. As of today 3/29/23 I had a meeting with Candie the business manager she has helped my family out so much with Insurance issues. Seems to go above & beyond for the residents here. I just love how everyone is so nice

Experiencia fantástica: I came here for a potential site visit for with a family friend for their mom and I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and spacious this facility is. It felt very inviting and the staff members were very friendly and helpful with any questions my friend had. We left feeling like this facility is a great contender to the others we visited.

Experiencia negativa: My parents been at this place for over a year and I went to spend time with my dad one Sunday afternoon and he was coughing badly and I was wondering why I sat there and tried to comfort him as best as I could and after visiting him I went to the desk where the nurses were located and asked why my father was so sick and they tell me after I sat there for 2 hours that he tested positive for Covid the next day later I was shivering having cold sweats and test positive 2 days later the staff here doesn’t care about their patients and If they had any common sense they should have called me and let me know before hand that my dad was positive now I’m missing work and concerned about my father at the same time because the inconvenience that these people have put me and my family through I would not recommend anybody to put their love ones in this facility terrible facility and staff overall less than 1 star

Experiencia negativa: My brother was staying there because of dementia.They sent him to Fatima Hospital to have him evaluated for changes in his medicine. While he was there Bannister gave away his bed. I had just bought him all new cloths, so I called there to pick them up. Twice the social worker told me I could pick up the cloths at the front door where there is a little office when you walk in. She told me they were in a bag left down with someone in that office. Both times I went down there for nothing. She had never brought them down there. After calling someone else who was in a higher position, he told me if I had the receipt they would reimburse me and mail me a check. Never did I get that check. He kept giving me excuses why it would take longer. The last phone call he told me they would have it mailed out by the first week of Sept. Again no check. They gave away his bed, left him homeless. Kept all his new cloths, left him with only the cloths he was wearing when he went to Fatima. Now they won't return my phone calls . Terrible place.

Experiencia fantástica: Have had nothing but positive experiences working with Bannister Center. The administrators and HR managers are on top of their game. They exude a high level of professionalism and friendliness. They are also not afraid to vouch for the needs of their employees and staff. Definitely a great organization to be a part of with a positive work culture and atmosphere.

The staff was empathetic, compassionate and totally professional. A special shout out to his caseworker Sonia who kept us informed every step of the way. Bannister Center is a phenomenal facility and deserves this 5 star review.

Experiencia fantástica: I arrived at Bannister after a 6 day hospital stay.I was told the Rehab team here was exemplary. I wasn't disappointed!! Through hard work with the Whole Rehab team and incredible support and care from the Nurses and CNA's on the 2nd floor, and ultimately all the different departments in the facilty, I was able to lose 50 pounds, correct my breathing problems and improve my pulse ox to near perfect and to achieve the best blood pressure I've had in years! The Rehab team also gave me the tools to help myself once I leave here. To keep getting in shape and to improve my health. The activiies team had a slew of fun things to do to make the time go by too. Jewelry making, art classes, movie times with popcorn and soda, and baking classes to name a few. Honestly, I was originally looking at other facilities, but now that I've reached my goals and am going home on February 28th, I'm so happy I chose Bannister!! I can't Thank You all enough!! Joe P.

Experiencia negativa: The staff hides in empty rooms and shuts door when patients wait over hour and half. I am a witness. Kitchen runs out food if u can witness a nurse not notifying them. Too much tell. State to should investigate. Social service is non existent. Smoking 4th floor...CHEW threatened a patient with a broom and is still harrasing patients. This is just the beginning.

Experiencia negativa: My father in law has been in this facility for a few months due to being the only available bed in the area for him. Everytime we have gone to visit him, we have notice it smells. I honestly don't think they thoroughly clean. The staff is definitely not friendly by any means. I dont think their staff actually cares about the patients. We had asked for water for our father in law and no one ever came to bring it during the 3 hours we were there that day. Dont bother trying to talk to the staff as they make you feel like you're inconveniencing their time. Its ridiculous. I cant wait to get my father in law out of here.

Experiencia negativa: My husband was there foe 4 wks. The first morning there his Son found him on the fl. Outside his rm. Not one staff member noticed. i was never told by bannister of tbe fall. He was very disoriented and could not walk when admitted there and they knew that! He was never checked on. He was always wet and i would have to get someone to change bed. After complaing several times they made sure bed was dry. The people at door to buzz you in were miserable. Never said hi or smiled. Never met a doctor either and o was ALWAYS there. Only one working elevator.. Just a bad experience for both of us.

Experiencia negativa: I don't know how this place continues to be licensed. I have filed 5 complaints with the Health Department. They let medications run out and will take days to weeks to refill them. They never have the materials ordered by the doctor for wound care. The food is disgusting and all processed (full of salt). I went 3 weeks without a meal that i coul eat and ended up in the hospital for 10 days. Although they renivated the building, they did not replace the trays or divider curtains. Both are disgusting. They have no hot water; they have to boil water in the microwave to wash up in the morning. Male patients enter rooms without permission during the day and middle of the night. It takes 45 -60 minutes for someone to respond to the on call button. Obviously wouldn't respond in time if something were to happen. They do not have wipes and use towels and faceclothes to clean up those who use the bedpan. Then you get the same towels to wash up with....yes they are washed, but stink and are rough; sometimes they have stains. The staff are unprofessional, don't understand or speak English. Will laugh at the dementia patients and esculate them to a point where they are out of control. Patients will ask to use the bathroom and told by the CNA's that they are wearing a diaper. The dimentia patients always look unwash and have greasy hair. Some of the severe inmobile patients are just put into a wheel chair in front of the TV. Several patients yell all day or yell for help and the staff don't pay any attention to them. Staff are VERY loud and will yell and argue right in the hall at each other. The whole place is a HELL HOLE. Poor hygienic practices and safty issues.

Melissa the head of that place let's her employee laugh in the face of family's that complained on one of the employees there. Had to make a police report against said employer there. Everything in that place is mess.. if you love your family please don't consider this place

ELMHURST NURSING HOME. OR THE GENIUS CENT IN WARWICK RI. NO. NO NO ..DONT DO IT....

Experiencia negativa: This place is a HELL HOLE. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES THERE. THEY ARE NOT PROPERLY CARED FOR IF CARED FOR AT ALL. I can tell you your loved one is not getting there medication the way they should, if they get it at all. This place is loaded with fruit flies and who knows what else. And the minute they don't have means to pay they will put them in an ambulance and send them home. No matter what condition they are in. I have an active complaint against them with the department of health. This dump looks like something straight out of a horror movie.

Experiencia negativa: Don't do it, This place is not equipped to deal with sick patients. My neighbor was there for 1 week and developed ring worm. Can you even imagine how dirty it must me there. I would not have given this place any stars, but that was not an option.

Experiencia negativa: Yeah!, right a nursing home! More like a locked ward between hell on earth. The place is disgusting! No showers. The rooms are dingy and small. Does not look sanitary. The air is stinky and stuffy. I have idea how it passes inspection. Was with a friend visiting an elderly friend, (in the cafeteria) when all of a sudden my friend saw a mouse running across the floor.

Experiencia negativa: This place is a joke. Everything is outdated, dingy and dissatisfying. The rooms are for two with just a curtain in between. Bathroom's are shared with 3 other people. The food tables in the rooms all have water damage so the wood is deteriorating. The chair placed in the room was falling apart. This isn't somewhere I would leave a loved one to spend the rest of their days.
