Experiencia fantástica: Nick Bruno is by far the most biomechanically knowledgeable physical therapist that I have ever worked with. I've had chronic shoulder injuries/pain/surgeries for the last 10 years and I honestly thought there was no solution besides another surgery. This past winter, I was planning on a 3rd surgery when a friend recommended Nick prior to the surgery. I decided not to go through with the surgery thanks to Nick. It took a lot of patience on Nick's end to help me overcome a lifetime of bad movement and weakness in my shoulders/uppper back. In general my moral regarding my shoulder was pretty low when we first starting working together because almost all movements left my shoulder joint sore for days to weeks afterword. Nick took that into account, listned to my concerns, and scaled the movements accordingly but with purpose and an end goal. I'm now able to lift significant amounts of weight overhead with no pain and have no shoulder pain during activities that I enjoy doing. Nick also has a great exercise program he offers which compliments the physical therapy. All in all I would recommend this facility. Also the admin is friendly and responsive.

Experiencia fantástica: Academy PT is a professional office that gets results. After throwing my back out so badly that sitting on the couch after work hurt I was prescribed PT. I found Academy by searching for a PT office that worked with athletes. I got the opportunity to work with Alex and because of his program I've been able to get back to running, working out, and I was even able to salvage my ski season. Alex breaks down the exercises giving great feedback and cues so you can feel the physical work occur. In my experience if you come in willing to work during your sessions and if you do the homework you're given, your pain will steadily decrease.

Experiencia fantástica: I've never been to PT before, despite lots of injuries, so I really didn't know what to expect. More over, I don't love the typical gym environment but lead an active, athletic lifestyle. Late January I had a significant MCL sprain while snowboarding and started seeing Nick at Academy Sports Physical Therapy. The whole facility is awesome. Friendly people, informed and kind staff, engaging exercises, the whole nine yards. I really cannot recommend this place enough. I'm stronger, more informed and back on the slopes right on the timetable we established early in the process. Scheduling is a breeze and Amanda is lovely to work with. All the exercises are extremely challenging yet approachable, fun and engaging. It's amazing how Nick can help you make a micro adjustment that really transforms the whole motion. While I was cleared to get back on the hill, I was quick to ask if I could continue to come and work through some of my older issues. Not because he pushed me to stay a client but because it's a fun process with clear demonstrated results.

Experiencia fantástica: Alex keeps up with the latest PT research and also has an appreciation for the lived experience of the patient's pain and relationship to injury. He's helped me build back up to a running schedule I had all but given up on after developing a chronic overuse injury almost a decade ago. He also takes into account more holistic factors when assessing the program (e.g., stress), and adapts exercises to the individual person's biomechanics and response. I would highly recommend PT at Academy to anyone! Amanda is also really nice and makes scheduling easy.

Experiencia fantástica: I had been suffering from some serious lower back and hip pain which wrapped around my entire waist line and it was affecting my everyday routine both at home and at work. I wasnt sleeping well and couldn’t work out the way I wanted, and this was really affecting my well being. Several of my colleagues and my chiropractor (Lanni Chiropractic) recommended Academy PT and spoke of them in very high regard. I quickly made an appt and during my first appt I was introduced to Alex who immediately sat with me and listened intently about the issues I was having. After putting me through a diagnostic Alex started to put a plan together for my recovery. I am now three weeks in and my symptoms are minimal, I am functioning better at work, and most importantly I am working out again and sleeping well. My thanks to Alex and his team for getting me back on track. I am extremely happy with the progress I have made and I would highly recommend Alex and the staff at Academy PT if you’re in pain like I was and looking to get yourself back on track.

Experiencia fantástica: In my late 50s and always having been involved in active / athletic pursuits (and consequently injuries!) I have been treated by Physical Therapists half a dozen times over the years. I heard about Academy originally through my two sons' Cross-Country coach, and then again by a close friend who has been a Physical Therapist herself for 30 years. The Therapists at Academy had a solid reputation for being the cutting-edge leaders for treating athletes who have encountered injuries. In 2022 my older son went to Academy for a chronic foot / running overuse issue. He was treated by Dr. Alex Immermann and made great progress to heal and improve. He gave Alex a great deal of kudos and I remember thinking that he (Alex) must be a talented and effective Therapist to make such a positive impression on a young man like my son. This past year I had an unfortunate running injury, tearing a ligament in my ankle. Post-surgery, I had the option of rehabbing at the Ortho facility that had done my surgery, but I remembered all the praise and the reputation that Academy had - so it was an easy decision to choose them. I can report that having just completed a five-month rehab program - also with Dr. Immermann - that the reputation he and they at Academy hold is legitimate and well-deserved. The Staff are all athletes themselves, and complete gentlemen - consummately professional, courteous and welcoming. The atmosphere at Academy is one of positivity, encouragement and praise. There was not a single day in five months that I dreaded / did not look forward to heading to Therapy. That was a first in my decades of dealing with PT for various injuries. Despite being treated by Alex exclusively, because Academy is a such a tight-knit and welcoming place, I got to know the other Therapists as well, and was able to see how they masterfully and effectively treat all of their patients. Before heading to Academy I read the profiles of the Therapists and was impressed - these young Doctors were very experienced and accomplished. Upon initially meeting him, I was a bit surprised by Alex's youthful appearance and easy-going manner. How could this "young guy" be THAT good, that knowledgeable. I quickly learned that Dr. Alex Immermann is a true master of his craft. His knowledge is truly profound, and he adeptly observes, diagnoses and formulates treatment / courses of action quickly and seamlessly. What really impressed me is that he takes the time with his patients to TEACH you why he is doing what he does. I had never experienced this before at PT and can honestly say that Alex has completely changed the way I think about properly taking care of myself as I age, and continue to pursue athletic endeavors. Alex has not only help me heal from an injury, he has educated me and changed the way I look at being physical and active in my life. He and the gentlemen at Academy have my deepest respect. I would be remiss if I didn't mention their office manager, Amanda, who was a true pleasure to work with for scheduling - always professional, courteous and always had a positive, pleasant smile when you arrived and departed the facility. Well done, Academy! I will genuinely miss seeing Alex, Alex, Nick and Amanda and wish them all the best! When I inevitably need Physical Therapy in the future, there is no question that I will be heading to Academy.

Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend Nick and the team at Academy Sports Physical Therapy. They were able to get me into the office quickly, took care of dealing with my insurance and providing personal attention. I was dealing with pain in my hip, we started slow and worked on proper positioning with exercises - moving to more challenging exercises as the pain went away to strengthen the muscles. Nick shared exercises to do at home with links to videos on how they should be done, which was easier to follow than a photocopied piece of paper. He always explains why we are doing the exercises and how they will help. They work with the local college and professional sports team's athletes - focusing on not just the present pains but improving future performances. I am not at that level but I get the same level of care.

I loved learning from him while building my ankle back up. The space is clean, bright, and well maintained. Amanda, at the front desk, is awesome and will help you with any questions you have!

For years I have wanted to take my lifting to the next level, but poor movement patterns and inability to connect with certain muscles were standing in my way. I found Nick about 6 months ago and I feel like my training has significantly improved. Nick pays close attention to make sure each exercise is executed properly and is not just concerned with 'checking the box'. I also have to give praise to the Academy PT office manager, Amanda, who goes above and beyond. Amanda is extremely responsive, helpful, and kind. Look at all the sweet reviews for one, thats not nothing. After experiences in not finding thoughtful or like truly engaged physical therapists for sooo long it was such a relief and game changer in my recovery to come upon Academy. I can't believe the almost magic ability Alex has to diagnose, target, and explain the issues surrounding my injury. It's not only the good physical movement guidance, but also being able to regain mental trust in my body's ability to recover/ lower pain levels... that's from trust in practitioners like them. If you are active in anyway, whether its running or lifting, these guys can get you back to where you need to be. The team helped me both pre and post back surgery. Because of them I not only understand my movements and why I was hurting but know exactly what to do to keep my active lifestyle pain free. Experiencia negativa: I received an email asking for a Google review. I wasn't going to leave one because my experience wasn't good. But if you're asking......... My physical therapist was rude to me and didn't respect me. I was really suffering and it's like he just refused to understand what I was explaining. He really made things worse by adding to my stress and he wouldn't adapt the physical therapy plan to my needs. I ended up leaving and went elsewhere. The new physical therapist was completely responsive and I enjoyed improvement....... It was frustrating because I did witness many other clients with sports related injuries who were being treated better than me and they were making progress. My condition was not sports related and was much worse although I have a sports background.

As a lifelong athlete (hockey, golf, baseball) I came to Nick dealing with a lingering hip impingement, low back pain and poor mobility in my shoulder. I like to know how things work and why I'm being asked to do something. I have worked with them before on other injuries. Working with them I have noticed that my injuries heal better than they were before they were injured.

Experiencia fantástica: As someone who has always been very hesitant to go to PT, I decided to go to Academy Physical Therapy based on the recommendation of a running friend. I saw Alex for about 2 months to rehab my achilles injury from running and I cannot recommend Alex enough. From the start, Alex understood my injury, my goals, and my path to recovery and he kept me on track with a personal plan both at PT and when training at home. What made Alex unique was his ability to set the day's PT plan, describe it in scientific terms, and then create ways of ensuring you understood what you were doing and why. Furthermore, the biggest compliment I can give APT, I never felt I was attending appointments just to attend more appointments. Alex was clear on my path out of PT and stuck to it. As soon as he saw my progress, he lowered appointment frequency, and eventually, told me that I was ok to move on unless I need further help. APT and Alex were trustworthy, caring, and available. You never want to go to PT but, if you do, I highly recommend APT.

Academy PT does a fantastic job of unpacking the information you provide them and creating challenging movements that create lasting repairs on the areas of focus. Their front office staff (Amanda) is super friendly and knowledgeable with insurance info. The actual PT staff communicates effectively and doesn’t give you mundane exercises to perform. Experiencia fantástica: After roughly 4 months of working with Nick, I can definitely say the knee pain I've had for 3 years has dramatically reduced, and I am better able to withstand high intensity physical activities. Unlike my previous PT's, Nick explains concepts in such a way that it is easy to understand how to make certain adjustments to manage pain. Each session is part of a personalized treatment plan that involves both one-on-one interaction and challenging exercises for optimal rehabilitation. I have not worked with Jess, but have observed how attentive she is with her patients. The office manager, Amanda is also a delight and very resourceful if you have any questions about billing or insurance. Overall, PT with Nick is an extremely valuable experience that can lead to improved habits, allowing you to train more effectively to sustain recovery.

Dr. Nick, Jess & Amanda house their dojo like practice in the upstairs dormitory quarters of OOS firehouse. I picked APT solely through the ease created by a convenient neighborhood location & partnering Chiropratic guru. I was rewarded through an array of new physical challenges on par with something I could only compare to discovery of a 27th letter in the alphabet. Nick’s relentless efforts made to reach coordination between words, efforts & physical movements is impressive. Angles addressing gravity, body position & muscle activation is the standard. Regular homework assignments are chased encouraged through focused feedback follows a welcome each appointment. Introductions to equipment variations & advancements have taken place in my experience. My injury remains a work in progress & I wholeheartedly recommend APT for your injury/prevention as well.

Experiencia fantástica: About a year ago I injured my lower back with a herniated disc. Nick taught me proper form and warm up exercises to focus on the proper muscle groups so I don’t keep injuring the disc in my back. The pain in my back has basically disappeared. 100% recommend!!

Experiencia fantástica: I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Nick Bruno and Academy PT. I previously was a long distance runner until a hip injury two weeks following a marathon sidelined me with nearly 9 months of pain. I completed three rounds of PT at two other clinics, and while my pain somewhat improved, I had little success in returning to any level of consistent exercise (much less running) without re-experiencing pain. When I first went to Academy, I was hoping to learn how to manage my pain and maximize my function by finding new ways to exercise. Dr. Bruno encouraged me to start with a clean slate and has helped me build up strength from the ground up. I am now comfortably building up hiking and doing exercises I never thought I could (without pain). Dr. Bruno is consistently professional and attentive. He is incredibly knowledgeable and tailors each session to you and your needs. My favorite part of working with Nick is that he coaches you to push yourself and work hard so that you can reach your goals. Academy PT is without a doubt my top recommendation for PT in the area.
