Experiencia fantástica: My Dad had a lengthy stay at Advanced Health Care. He had excellent care and felt very comfortable with his accommodations and the care provided by his nurses, CNA, PT , and OT. He is 98 and always uses a recliner chair at home. Each room is equipped with those and he found it as comfortable as his one at home. We requested AHC because a friend had been there and he, too, felt safe and well cared for. So glad we chose it.
Experiencia fantástica: Advanced is an excellent facility. One of my family members has had to go there twice and has had an excellent experience both times. The caregivers are friendly, knowledgeable and kind. The rooms are clean and they wash and return the patients laundry very quickly. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Experiencia negativa: The Safety of this place is not good . The administrator didn’t care when someone threatened to shoot the door lock out . He stated to me and another employee that “ There was a better chance the homeless would shoot the place up rather than this man” . Not an ideal place to work.

Experiencia negativa: My mom had kidney disease. She wa 82 and didn’t want to do any preventative medicine. She was done. When I walked to her room with the hospice coordinator, one of the nurses said “ I hope you’re going to room 119” i’m over working with her.

Experiencia fantástica: A friend of mine stayed at AHC for over a month for special care and I visited him every week. The staff treated me so well and I was just a visitor. I always like flirting with the young girl at the check-in counter. My friend recovered and went home and always spoke very highly of his stay at AHC. It is a first class health care facility.
Experiencia negativa: The good: Beautiful facility, nice and professional doctor, they get you to your outside appts on time and the helper for transport is also very nice. The food is GREAT. The bad: Very slow on responding to patients buzzer, if at all. I had to call the front desk many times to get help. They never cleaned my room in the 9 days I was there including no cleaning of the bathroom. Sheets were only changed once and that was by the PT staff. Without every seeing me or evaluating me, they gave me a release date that "coincidentally" was exactly what Medicare would pay for. This never changed it even though I was more than ready to go home. They lied about my condition saying I needed help getting in and out of bed even though I was 100% mobile and had been for days just to keep me the full Medicare payment time. When I demanded to leave, they labeled me AMA and sent me home with no doctors' instructions, no meds and no equipment even though Medicare would have paid for them if I had not been labeled. They have a protocol for after removal of a catheter that was to do an ultrasound every 2 hours or so even at night waking me up every time until I told them not to do it anymore. This was to be for FIVE days. Ridiculous protocol and not in the patient's best interest. I was 74 years old and I was taken out in 104 degree heat to learn how to go up and and down a curb by one of the PT staff. Apparently this place was short of staff but that is an administration issue and should not have been visited upon the patients.

I was really worried after the post operateive care I received 3 yrs ago at another facility after back surgery. I worked in the medical field most of my adult life & I KNOW great quality care when I see it. This facility went beyond & more. They are fantastic. Medical care is wonderful & the food is great. I can't eat it all but not for lack of trying... The staff is kind, caring, & makes sure your every need is met. If you or a family member needs help.... THIS IS THE RIGHT PLACE ❤️

Experiencia negativa: Do NOT take your loved one to this facility. They make it seem like it is such a lovely place. It is a facade, do not believe it. My mom was totally neglected and made to feel like a burden. She was in pretty good shape when she went in there but steadily declined, due to neglect. These beautiful elderly people who once were the pillar of the community are treated as if they are a burden and not worth the trouble. In my eyes this is no better than child neglect. No one should be treated like this! No one DESERVES this kind of treatment. It is heartbreaking to say the least. I do not understand why anyone would be in this line of work to treat another human being in this manner. A woman who has spent her life caring for others and giving to others, a woman who was a nurse for 35 years and then who worked to help the homeless, the cancer ridden the underprivileged children... Is treated like a nothing, like she means nothing. This woman is a treasure and means the world to so many. It is truly a disgrace that she was treated as she was. Some day these caregivers will be old and frail and I hope they are treated better than my mom....

After caregiving for 13 yrs, I have never experienced a facility like this one! It's not just the beautiful decor, but the personal service and variety of services, the individuals performing those services on and off the job, etc. Wish there were long term care facilities that could compare to this one! I have yet to discover anything else like this in terms of adult caregiving. This should be the standard regarding care for any living being. Thank you for all that you did for my Nanna during her 3 week stay, which saved her life from the neglect and abuse she endured from a different facility known as The Seasons. Thank you

Experiencia fantástica: My mom has spent the last 3 weeks at Advanced health Care and I am so happy we chose this facility. everyone has been very helpful and engaging. I have visited probably 12 or 15 times and always see positive and friendly engagement between clients and the staff. If I ever need a rehab facility...this is where I would choose.
Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been working here for almost 6 years. And let me tell you, it has been an amazing 6years. It’s a family here. To the doctors, therapy and CNA’s and administration keep up the good work, making the patients feel like home. It what we do.
Experiencia fantástica: I have been working here for almost 2 years and I love it. It is honestly been one of the greatest experiences that o have had in the medical field. The staff take time to care for their patients and love and treat patients like a family! The nursing staff are amazing and always know how to handle situations. Patients always comment on our beautiful facility and how it feels like a 5 star hotel and how they feel at home when they are here. We work together to provide excellent care to the patients and making sure patients have such a great time while they are here. I would recommend this place to all of my friends and family!
Experiencia negativa: It is a sad realization that our greatest generation are now treated no better than a nuisance on the system of Healthcare. As a family, we have been faced with the terrible reality how well our loved ones are cared for in rehab facilities after my grandparents have both been admitted into this facility within two months time of each other. The first experience was not the best, but the lack of attention and clear blatant disregard for proper care was shown on a daily basis was overlooked because he got better. This new time around we are left with a hole in our hearts for our beloved family member. She is left in a cold dark room. Fed foods that are not good for her diabetes, and forced to sit hours in a chair, or wheelchair while she is in terrible pain after a horrific injury. Yesterday was a fit between a family member and the staff for the most basic necessity WATER!!!! My family member came in to see my loved one sitting in a chair in a cold dark room covered in food from the the previous day dying of thirst. The water she had was old and hot and she was begging for cold water. Hours went by with not one person checking on her. My family member asked multiple employees for help. And not a single one came to their aid. Instead they were met with an excuse of sorry we are understaffed. This is not an excuse, and it is funny there is time between the team to chit-chat and gossip like it's lunch time at the local high school. I know working in health care takes a special kind of person, but not a single employee is living up to the vows they took to help the sick. Sick and frail patients should be treated like they matter, not a burden. This facility is a living nightmare, and each day a family member goes to visit our loved one we are more and more broken over the treatment we are seeing. I wish the employees would treat patients like they would expect their own loved ones to be treated. We are in constant fear our loved one will fall and get hurt trying to get to their bed. We hoped this place would help them on their journey to recovery, but at this point we feel lost and without hope. Healing is a journey that is pysical and mental, you can't reach your desired journey left to feel like your a burden, and especially when you don't have the help to get better.

Experiencia negativa: My mother and father both have been in this facility. It's a glorified motel 6. Nasty dingy place. They have people that work there that really don't care about the patients. They leave the patients all day unattended. My mother has been left in her wheel chair hours at a time unattended. When we bought up the fact that she need to be cared for better we got attitude. I wouldn't wish this place on anyone

Experiencia fantástica: I am new to AHC & been here 4 1/2 months! I came aboard as the Nutritional Services Director for the dietary department. I have worked for several other companies in my career, but this is the first company I have worked for that is truly about creating a caring environment for the patients & staff!! So many new & fun opportunities for advancement within this company!! Great place to work!! They truly care about employees & hardships we all face in this new day and time. I have heard so many wonderful comments about our building & services from our patients. Our team here at Advanced does a great job at creating a wonderful Rehab environment for our patients!! Kudos to our Dietary Department, Nursing Department & all our wonderful Physical Therapy guys!!!! Keep up the Great Job Advance Team!!
Experiencia negativa: I have been a patient at Advanced health care a few times in the past. I was always satisfied with the results. This time it was a humiliating experience. I told the admissions nurse that all I wanted to do was strengthen my legs so I could walk with my walker and live independently. If I couldn't get the results I needed I would look into assisted living. My first we spent 53 timed minutes watching me squirm and try to stand up. 3 minutes would have produced the same results. Right from the beginning the director of nursing, Lindsay, had me destined for assisted living. First, it took 71/2 weeks to verify my eligibility with Medicare. The next 71/2 weeks were spent doing transfers from the wheelchair to the bed and commode. When I told Lindsay that I don't use a wheelchair at home and that I sleep in a lift chair, I was shut up and told this was not open for discussion. When I was sick and spent the whole night feeling like I was drowning from fluids in my lungs, I was accused of making excuses. I was told they were making an appointment with my endocrinologist. Never happened. After 71/2 weeks I finally got to walk a measured 25 feet. Next I a discharge notice saying my health had improved sufficiently and there was nothing else they could do. They did nothing to help me walk. Iindsay said I needed a skilled nursing facility in case I fell. I told her that I had a medic alert and all I had to do was push a button. I told her Ahc was a skilled nursing facility and I had to wait 3 hours for help getting into bed and 11/2 hours for pain medicine. Àgain shut up. The CNAs are understaffed and overworked. This was a humiliating waste of 4 months.

Experiencia fantástica: My husband spent two weeks at Advanced, recovering from a spinal cord injury. My father is there now, recovering from a couple of surgeries. The staff are wonderful and the facility is beautiful. The physical and occupational therapists are very professional. I'm so grateful for this facility.

Experiencia negativa: My experience has not been good. I was a resident of this facility for over six weeks. I was placed there after a fall on the ice. My fractured tibia was repaired surgically, then I was placed at Advanced without any input from me. For over six weeks.I was placed in a very narrow short bed and given minimal care. i asked daily to be released to my own care at home. I was not allowed to be released. I went six weeks and I only had 3 bowel movements. I reported this situation to management who ignored this problem. I was not able to resolve this situation and no medical care was forthcoming. I suffered a retraction of the muscles of my fractured leg. When I was finally released from my confinement and was examined by competent medical staff, they started therapy promptly. I have been visited by hospital staff multiple times weekly since being returned home to resolve these problems. While at the Advanced facility I had one bath in over six weeks.i would not suggest medical care at this facility.

Experiencia negativa: My mom was taken there from St Mary's hospital. In her records that they sent over from the hospital it said she was diabetic and needed her blood to be tested and given insulin. The whole time she was there they didn't test her blood or give her insulin until I called and made a fuss. She hardly ever saw anyone, no one was checking on her. She saw the cleaning staff more than she saw the other staff members. When they finally tested her blood it was 280. But since she was going to be leaving the next day they didn't give her any insulin that night or the next morning.

Experiencia fantástica: No matter whether it is an aging parent or a younger family member or friend, I would never hesitate to have them cared for by the staff at AHC Reno. It is sooo unlike any other care facility in the area. It is a short term rehab option that everyone should consider. The environment, nursing staff, therapy staffs, and dining staff are great to work with. Rehabing is not fun for a patient or visiting family/friends, but AHC Reno does its best to make it a pleasant experience. Any service provider is going to have good and bad reviews, whether it be food service, retail, or health care, etc., but my experiences have been nothing but great!

Experiencia fantástica: I recently had a family member admitted to this facility following a severe fall resulting in a broken hip. The staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, informative, and kind. The facility itself is gorgeous and unlike any other facility in town. It is clean, comfortable, and offers private rooms which I believe is a huge benefit in the recovery process. Unfortunately, due to the effects of the fall and subsequent anesthesia, my family member was unable to return home. The therapy and administrative staff were an integral part, not only in her rehabilitation but also in assisting my family in navigating the difficult process of finding an appropriate place for her. She is happy and healthy. We can't thank AHC of Reno enough!

The staff is so caring and always make sure not only that the patients are cared for but that the family is helped and taken care of also. Experiencia fantástica: Definitely one of the best rehab facilities in the state. All the nursing staff works together as a team and they use pagers that are connected to the rooms so they can know a call light just went on. If they are working in a room they can communicate on the radio to get assistance if they need it. This place has 42 private rooms and most call lights are answered in a few seconds to 3 minutes or less. The management all the way up to the administrator have a positive attitude and have an open door policy for residents and family members. Anyone can come in and ask to get a tour from anyone of them no problem at all. If you are a Nurse or CNA or Physical therapist or assistant or occupational therapist or assistant this is the place to learn quality work over quantity work they are fully staffed and also have great coverage if an emergency was to come up. I am an employee and if I was to move on to another job I wouldn't have anything bad to say about this place.

My mother was placed at Advanced Health Care of Reno after a nasty fall about a month ago now she has eyes for a cute male nurse and insists that she likes her room better than her house. The one worry I had about my mother being placed in a nursing home was her diet but the facility was more than cooperative with it. When I’m old I want to be here too!

Experiencia fantástica: My dad needed IV therapy after being diagnosed with sepsis. This was very scary for my whole family and Johnny and Lisa put us all at ease. My dad was better taken care of here than any place he’s ever stayed. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Experiencia fantástica: Advanced Healthcare is a blessing to the rehabilitation community of Northern Nevada. The administration, therapists, doctors, nurses, CNA’s, and ALL the staff, take such great care of the people in their care. There is amazing attention to detail in all levels of care. This is hands down, the facility you want to take your loved ones to when they need a facility to assist them in their rehabilitation needs.

Experiencia negativa: I was not going to write a review, but this establishment quickly became disturbingly inadequate for care. I do have to say the food and quality of physical therapy staff is great and very supportive, however the nursing staff and the administration is HORRIBLE. My father fell ill and was sent to this facility, it didn’t take long until the first problem started...he needed help getting around and pushed his call light, they didn’t respond to his call light until 45 minutes passed and the issue became an embarrassing accident for him. After this problem he was given the ok for release...little did we know he was NOT ready. The staff sent him home with an extreme infection(due to neglect) and pneumonia. Less than 24 hours released my father was back in the hospital. After this release from the hospital he was sent back to this establishment, and wouldn’t you know, nothing changed with the nursing staff. Every excuse is “ well I asked”, or “ oh, I didn’t realize” my father was here a bit longer this time and a couple days before they got ready to discharge him...he had a stroke due to (get this dehydration). Even though numerous members of the family kept telling the nursing staff that he was dehydrated. After he went to the ER for the second time due to neglect from nursing staff members, they cleared out his room...BEFORE THE DISCHARGE. So my mother got surprised with coming back to get his stuff for nothing to be there and a rude staff member telling her that; “ it was VERY OBVIOUS he was being discharged”. They treat your loved ones here worse than I’ve ever experienced, there is no compassion or care for the patients it’s just a job and it is carried out very poorly. It breaks my heart to see people treated the way my dad, and my family has been treated. If I could leave negative stars for the nursing staff here I definitely would.

Experiencia negativa: Beautiful place, and seemingly good food, and amazing pt staff but horrible nursing care for patients. A loved one of mine fell ill and was sent here after a couple days of being here the call light wasn’t being responded to and than he shortly returned to the ER due to an infection and sickness that was gotten during his stay here. After he returned to this facility, it wasn’t long before he had a stroke due to dehydration after his stay here (since the staff “doesn’t notice”) his dehydration even though multiple family members told them to watch for how he is feeling. Once they send your loved one back home or elsewhere you better make sure you take all their stuff because they’ll clear out a room faster than someone leaves. (Actual experience). If you are looking for a care facility that has compassion and care for their patients don’t go here...you’re loved ones health will rapidly decrease. I gave one star because it’s the absolute minimum, if I could give zero I would. It breaks my heart to see people treated this way.

Experiencia negativa: Two years ago, my dad was here. They sent him home with a wound to his spinal column as well as an infected ankle with MRSA infecting his entire body. He almost died. Dad noted this "Care Center" on his list of skilled nursing facilities he didn't want to return to and the reasons behind it. We told Heather at St. Mary's that he didn't want to return here, but she insisted. Dad is out of there now, but when he was here again, he didn't receive therapy and a CNA confronted him about his transferring to another facility. That behavior is suspicious. The staff were rude to him during his 3 day stay. On the morning of his transfer, the operator claimed that Dad had already been discharged and was gone, then hung up on me. I called the new skilled nursing facility and they didn't have him. They called and were told he wasn't there. I called Dad's insurance company and the operator told them the same thing. The new place called back and insisted that they find him. Someone found him by the fireplace which is located in clear view of the moron answering the phones at the front desk. The coward ran when Dad went to confront him. They spend most of their money on a peacock show and not on a larger therapy area. Do NOT send your loved ones there. They should be closed down.

Experiencia fantástica: My father was taken here after a hospitalization. He had a private room that was comfortably decorated and very clean. He had been at another facility in the past that smelled terrible. This was very nice and he was happy with his stay.

Experiencia fantástica: Mom stayed for a few weeks after knee replacement surgery. We were so pleased with her care there! The staff, the PT, the FOOD...it was all wonderful. We actually hoped she could stay longer, but she recovered to the point they had to discharge her.

Experiencia negativa: Warning do not put your loved ones in this facility, If your loved one has medical conditions this is not the place to be. A total fake atmosphere, looks nice and they make it sound so wonderful it's not, if you have MINOR needs it might be ok, no doctor ever talks to you, nurses are not personable, some cna's just as bad, my mom fell twice both times unattended , meds never given properly or not at all, verbally abused my mom, made her feel like a burdon, had extreme rash on bottom , when she called for someone it sometimes took up to 45 minutes for someone to check to see what she needed, made attempt to fix the numerous problems with administration, no luck I could go on and on, just please don't choose this place!

Experiencia negativa: Elecia was phenomenal with my Grandma. Very warming place. Need to be more one on one with residents. Left my grandma in her recliner. No dinner wake up. No housekeeping. I even called with concerns and emails... Nothing. Couldn't even call me to get my grandma ready for her new home. Unprofessional.
Experiencia fantástica: This is TRULY a 5 STAR facility!!! The environment makes you feel you are at a Comfort Suite than a medical facility! Most important is the staffing!! They make you feel comfortable, feel good, uplifting your spirit, friendly and always professional!! My wife and I would like to shout out to Dr. Mars, Nurse Rocky, especially Kristina , Scott, Brandi your O.T and P.T crew they are awesome and the best!! Also Elizabeth for her great personality and the food just awesome especially the Filet you have (cannot believe you all have that on your menu )!!! Plus Johnny and Aaron too. Everyone of your staff consistently has a smile on their faces!!! WOW what a crew!! We will differently recommend your facility!! Thank you, Thank you and againThank you ALL !!!! We will never forget our experience!!!
Experiencia fantástica: When my Mother was discharged from St. Mary's Hospital after a pulmonary embolism, we chose Advanced Healthcare as her Skilled Nursing Care facility. The place is gorgeous! She had a beautifully appointed private room, wonderful staff and even the food was great. I would highly recommend sending your loved one there to recuperate after a hospital stay!
Experiencia fantástica: After a horrible fall and major surgery for my mom we were faced with the decision to send her to a skilled care facility. I recently lost my father at such a facility and was so concerned about this but I am beyond delighted that we were given an opportunity to send her to Advanced. The staff is welcoming, hard working and possess the skill to care for a feisty patient like my mom, her recovery comes through a organized team of professionals and this in my opinion has helped her find a reason to fight to live. I owe this place for the excellence in which they care for all their patients.

Experiencia fantástica: We cannot say enough about this facility. My mom after back surgery with complications spent 2.5 weeks there. The rehab is absolutely phenomenal, the staff fantastic with kindness, competent, you can tell everyone loves there job. Doesn't look like a convalescent, looks like a five star resort. If you are looking for a GREAT facility with top notch rehab, you have found it.
Experiencia negativa: Don't be deceived by the gorgeous facility. If your relative has needs beyond PT then please don't put them here. My dad was not medically cared for. He abruptly changed about a month into his stay. There was no patient care plan, no meetings to share with us my dad's progress, and nobody noticed his steady decline except for his physical therapists. The Doctor notes were simply two and half months worth of photocopies of the same thing with a different date. He had bedsores and infections, which I believe led to his death. I live with the guilt everyday that we kept him at this place for so long.
