Experiencia fantástica: Saw Renee Covey, Dr. Jones’ PA, yesterday to discuss much needed knee surgery. As always, Renee was kind, patient with my myriad questions regarding surgery, prehab, and post surgery recovery. Both she and Dr. Jones are my favorites at ROC for all my crazy orthopedic maladies. And their medical assistant is cool, too.

Experiencia negativa: I’m glad I finally got a diagnosis of my condition after visiting 2 other urgent cares and the ER. However, my pain level had been a 6-7 all weekend and was a 6 during my visit. His refusal to prescribe even a day’s worth of pain meds so I could get a little relief is disappointing. Two days later, I’m finally able to effectively management the pain with ibuprofen and acetaminophen.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr O’Mara is an excellent surgeon & has met with me several times to review the progress of my healing. I’m very pleased with our most recent meeting he compared the multiple X-rays pointing out how all the cracks are now fused. He recommended continuing to use bands to help prevent future rotator cuff injury. Which with my age & this injury I might be more prone to.

Experiencia fantástica: In 2022 I had fusion surgery with Dr Sekhon, who explained everything about the surgery including the prognosis, which might not completely alleviate the pain., but the surgery itself was successful. Dr Sekhon was always honest about the outcome.The pain eventually dissipated. At the time of my surgery, he had prescribed narcotics for the pain, which was decreased gradually, as I was taking milder pain meds. I never had a problem with narcotic addiction as he monitored the pain meds. I continued to see his assistant ,Greg Graves , for follow up appointments.He has always explained everything to me in a way that is understandable. His approach and manner is respectable , friendly and always ready to help in any way . I can call & always get answers as well as follow up appointments. I am so grateful for his help . I SINCERELY THANK THIS ORTHOPEDIC GROUP. THEY ARE THE BEST! Eileen Cohen

Experiencia negativa: Initial visit great. Gave me number to call to schedule MRI as needed per visit instead of scheduling with person there. Found that odd but rolled with it. Called number over 15 times left 7 messages and nothing. Over the span of 3 days to no avail….. go elsewhere. If you need help.

Experiencia fantástica: All personnel are extremely friendly and helpful, whether front office staff, medical assistants, or physicians. Dr Cook was very thorough in her examination of my hand, explanation of her findings and recommendation of follow-up care. I’m very pleased.

Experiencia positiva: I went to the center for a and stitches removed. I was experiencing a bit of pain, but I'm pretty sure that was my fault from not resting it properly. While the doc was inspecting my leg, I explained that pain was pretty intense and the small amount of pain medication was gone in the first couple of days. He replied " you broke your leg, it's supposed to hurt." I'm 64 and I'm sure I have a couple of years on the guy, but as a retired government servant of 15 years and 30 in the private sector, the response kind of left me speechless. I wasn't going to ask for more pain pills. I hate them. I was just expecting a different answer. He is right, so I am not questioning his ability to do his job. Frankly, that is something like I would have said to somebody in my line of work as a firetruck mechanic. I don't believe he should be reprimanded, it just struck me wrong, and i am trying to adjust. One more thing, when I got there they put me in a wheelchair with side wheels which requires someone to push you around. When I was finished with my experience upstairs, I returned downstairs, and my assistant parked me next to the security guard and went to get the car. At that time, the foot traffic was heavy, and the door was open. I was still in pain, just leaned my head back, closed my eyes, and the door closed on my leg. At the least, it was very uncomfortable, I screamed, and security guard looked up from his phone and asked if I was ok. I guess the sensor on my elevated foot. I realize it was my friend's fault for leaving me where he did, but it would of been nice for the security guy to tell me or move me before that happened.

Experiencia fantástica: My experience with Dr. O'Mera at Reno Orthopedic Center was so wonderful. He is kind and absolutely amazing. He was so curteous and discussed my treatment plan with me, thoroughly. He then addressed my knee pain. I am so grateful for having him as my doctor. Thank you.

Experiencia fantástica: I arrived early for my appointment. I was checked in efficiently by your staff and told that while they were checking me in early, there was no guarantee that I would be seen early. I said that that was fine no problem. I was seeing quickly for my x-ray and then I actually got to see Dr. Watts an hour before my scheduled appointment. As usual he was professional he listened to my complaints, discussed options, and provided treatment to help with my issue. I was also able to communicate with him via my chart and received a response this morning. I am always amazed at the efficiency of ROC both in Reno and Carson City. I am a healthcare professional, and I can honestly say that I have never experienced such a well run organization staffed with competent and kind providers and efficient office staff. I never hesitate to recommend both Dr. Watts and the ROC organization to others.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Stephen Powers has been taking care of my 3yr old daughter’s exams. He has been great! My daughter has Autism and he has been so understanding and calm with her, which is hard to find people who are. Shes also non-verbal which makes finding the exact point of injury much more difficult, he has been very thorough, and gone the extra mile to make sure nothing was missed. A full leg cast, multiple visits and follow ups later and still highly recommend :) Thank you!

Experiencia positiva: Pretty easy to get appointment but big mix up with x rays (I brought my own) but they wanted to take new ones until I really complained. Dr. Warren and his assistant Sam were great once I got in to see them. Will consider them for my hip surgery.

Experiencia fantástica: ROC came under very strong endorsements from the Steadman Clinic in Vail and from other doctors in Lake Tahoe. So far my experience with them has been extremely positive. Everything from the check-in process, parking, radiologists, medical staff, and especially Davis. He was very attentive, listened, gave me viable options and pros and cons, and genuinely seem to care. Based on that, I decided to have my surgery here instead of in Vail.

While the team at Barton fear mongered and tried rushing me into life altering surgery, Dr. Sing took a measured approach, recommended further diagnostics, and ultimately reassured me that surgery wasn’t my only option. I felt a great depression fade away. His care helped me feel heard, empowered, and back in control of my health. I’m deeply grateful for his integrity and compassion, and I wish him a long, successful career helping others the way he helped me.

The staff was polite, courteous, and helpful, making me feel like a celebrity. The waiting areas were clean and tidy, and the nurses I’ll mention few names Jillian/Tom recovery nurse, Amanda/Vandz/Jennica/Erin… inpatient surgical nurses were patient and attentive. The cleaner Jocelyn, Mila, kitchen staff, and nurse aides Sarah/Vanessa/Arieli/Kenny was also considerate and helpful, and the physical occupational therapist Sammy/Tracey was thorough and helpful. I highly recommends Renown South Hospital/ROC for knee replacements.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Christensen performed a successful distal biceps tendon reattachment surgery, he took time to answer my questions with care, both pre- and post-op. Also, Michael and the OT team downtown did a wonderful job of helping me get my movement and strength back! They were friendly and understanding through the whole process.

Experiencia fantástica: ROC is a very efficient facility and everyone who works there seems to enjoy their job and want to help you to have a positive experience. It’s a different experience than a full service hospital so I would definitely recommend it if that’s what you’re after. I didn’t feel like my appointment was rushed and my questions were answered.

Experiencia negativa: Horrible service! For physical therapy they will schedule 6 other clients at the same time slot as you so you're paying $200 for about 7mins of professional help. Total waste of money just use Youtube. On top of that these people have managed to screw up my billing every time and it has taken a year for them to get it right. They even tried to send me to collections for bills I already paid but they have no record so now they are asking me to look through 6 months worth of bank statement to correct their problem. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE IT'S A SCAM! Completely incompetent staff working in a fancy looking office.

Experiencia positiva: 4 Stars because the doctor did not keep the appointment and I was seen by PA. Having said that, she did a good job of explaining the MRI results and next steps. I was not warned of side effects of cortisone other than a sore arm and had 3 days of flushing and upset stomach. Given my history of colitis, this should have been discussed as a possibility.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Shay Warren and the staff at ROC were terrific. ROC scheduled me for an appointment the day I phoned seeking an evaluation after my snow skiing accident. On the day of my appointment, ROC techs produced XRays of my injured knee in minutes, and Dr. Warren provided me with a clear understanding of my injury and the path I would need to follow to recover. I especially appreciated Dr. Warren’s follow-up communication the day after my appointment, providing even more insight into my condition. I am grateful that I contacted ROC for care following my skiing accident.

It’s nice to know he and the ROC have the latest and greatest equipment and knowledge do get things done right and then I can be on to a quick recovery (with a total knee replacement).

From the reception area, to Xray area and even to the room where they brought me for an examination with this PA-C (Greg Graves). The rooms and the other facility were clean and no unusual smells.

The results and care I received for my lumbar fusion surgery, laminectomy and foraminotomy for spondylolisthesis have been excellent. Dr Sekhon explained the procedure very well to me pre-op and Greg had been very responsive to my questions and concerns pre and post-op.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is amazing. Not only did they make me feel welcome but their whole center was clean and shiny. The rooms are comfortable, and the waiting time was very minimal. The provider I saw was friendly and courteous, and all of her assistants were as well.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Cassinelli was very thoughtful and caring. Took extra time to explain my condition and gave me better information than I had with another doctor. He let me know that if I had any questions to please call or message. Previous doctor’s office would never return calls

Experiencia negativa: I’m generally happy with ROC, but since they’re asking for a review of yesterday’s appointment, here it is: my appointment was for 10:15. I was not called back until 11:05. The whole waiting room was packed with people who were there waiting around an hour past their appointment time as well. I went up to the front desk to make sure I was there at the right time, and confirmed that I was. When I was finally called back, they tried to blame me for not being there when I was called. The provider tried to blame it on me as well. I was there at my appointment time, so it’s not on me for leaving to check. The providers was rushed and I didn’t have enough time to ask questions. I would’ve let it go, as everyone is entitled to a bad day; things happen. However, they’re the ones who asked for it.

Experiencia negativa: Place has fallen hard. 2 hrs in pre-op. No attention paid to patient. They sound like they're having a great time on thw other side of the partitions tho. Will NOT recommend ROC again ever.

Experiencia fantástica: I can't express enough how grateful I am to Dr. Watts and Cory and the staff. I have never had a full replacement of anything and was very nervous and unsure. Dr. Watts definitely lived up to his reputation my knee replacement was perfect and I'm going back to work after having it done on 2/13/2025. Thank you Dr. Watts for making it a great experience.
