Experiencia negativa: I WOULDNT SEND MY DOG TO THIS PLACE!!! This place is disgustingly philthy! Poop and blood on walls of my daughters room...very poor care. Furniture falling apart. Bugs on walls and ants all over rug on floor. Sticks so bad in there too. Layed in pooped for hours in her bed because she couldn't walk. Her body was filling up with fluid...stomach looked like she was 9 months pregnant. Legs and arm also filled with fluid. Never seen a place that didn't give a crap about her. They put her on 5 for oxygen because she couldn't breath. She would scream for help and no one would come. She would turn the buzzer on for hrlp and it was turned off by nurses. She wasn't getting her insulin as needed either. She was getting worse after the 2nd day of being there so on the 3rd day I called the ambulance to take her to hospital emergency room and they immediately did a whole body scan and blood work. She was diagnosed with SEVERE PNEUMONIA and would have died if I didn't call ambulance. After I told head manager over nurses that I was taking her out of that horrible place and calling ambulance she had everyone she could possible send in room to care for her...just to make her look good....DON'T EVER SEND YOUR FAMILY THERE...THEY JUST LET THEM DIE! If anyone gives a good review on this place your LIEING!

Experiencia positiva: My grandfather currently resides at this facility. I can see that he has adapted to the staff here, which is awesome! There are concerns about the lack of care that I see, and I mean every time that I visit him. You have to have the passion to be in this profession it should reflect. Next, the rooms do not feel inviting. There is a stinch that lingers in the air, and the decor/furniture is very outdated. Give these rooms solid neutral colors. Hey, this is their home. Lastly, in order to have a dedicated staff and to boost the morale, it starts with the administration taking care of its employees. I'm in the medical field, so I know all about the factors. Your center peice are your patients. Just keep that in mind. Oh, administrator take heed because some of these nursing homes are losing their source of funding.

Experiencia fantástica: I just came home today after spending three weeks there after spinal surgery. The nursing staff, physical and occupational therapy staff were outstanding.

Experiencia negativa: The place was filthy the ceiling was caving in in my father's first room. When I went to put his clothes away the closet had someone else's old clothes in it and there was so much visible dirt in the closet. I had to ask that he be moved. Also when walking into the facility I had walk through second hand smoke because there was a resident smoking at the front door.

Experiencia negativa: The call bell system is not working and we have no way of asking for help when we need it. I have not seen 1 member of staff for over 3 hours.

I am happy my family and I made the choice to come here after my stroke 6 years ago. If you want strong professional care this is the place to come you will not be sorry.

Experiencia fantástica: Dining manager Connie provided a terrific Thanksgiving turkey and trimmings meal for residents today, with all gathered in the dining room to enjoy!! Two residents reported that it was a fantastic dinner!! Sooo yummy!!!

Experiencia negativa: This place needs to be shut down immediately. They will let your family member ROT before doing anything to help and then smile in your face saying that they are doing everything that they can while he gets a blood infection. Do not send your family member here.

My mother was admitted into this facility June 24, 2024. She passed away in this facility August 9, 2024. The CNA who called me at 9:15 pm that night of August 9th stated where she was calling from and that my mother had EXPIRED ! Yes EXPIRED ! I was so confused and hurt. Is this the way you tell family members who have lost their mother? Are we talking about my mother? This is our mother you’re talking about!!!! We didn't receive NOT ONE phone call from ANYONE at this facility after the passing of our. mother!! This facility doesn’t care! THIS FACILITY SENT A BILL TO THE HOUSE FOUR DAYS AFTER OUR MOTHER HAD PASSED. THEY CONTINUED TO SEND A BILL EVERY WEEK AFTER THAT.! YOU KNOW WE JUST LOST OUR MOTHER??? I UNDERSTAND YOU WANT YOUR MONEY BUT CAN WE PLAN OUR MOTHER’S FUNERAL! I’M SURE THEY WILL RESPOND TO THIS REVIEW BELOW LIKE EVERYTHING IS OK AND THAT I NEED TO REACHED OUT TO THEM OR THEY WILL CONTACT ME BUT NOTHING WILL EVER HAPPEN. The business office Autumn and Jayda are always helpful and very knowledgeable. 9/29/2024 My brother has been at this facility for a little over 6 months. The west wing staff continues to be amazing! Experiencia negativa: It was 10:30 Friday night when I walk into Parham Health and rehabilitation Center the door was unlocked no one around until I got in the back hallway by the service desk there were three lady there. One sitting in the hallway two behind the desk.They said hi and I kept on walking . Went into the room my friend was just laying there couldn’t talk or move at all . He had another visitor sitting with him because of the condition he was in. To my understanding they have been given him morphine for pain. He has cancer. What I don’t understand is while I was there a nursing aide come in to give him Ativan . WHY ? He was just laying there not moving at all. I thought what the hell !!! What’s going on. He can’t move or talk and they are giving him that. I said to they lady he doesn’t need that. She said it was on the orders. Why !!!! She could had call the doctor yo let him know my friend was just laying there not moving that she doesn’t think he needs it. Oh no! She was adamant on giving it to him.He had been laying in his own urine and poop . This place smells like urine so bad that when I got home I had to use nose wash to try to get the smell out my nose. The place had bugs in the hallway. The floors were coming apart . It was just not healthy at all to be in that place . I felt dirty when I left. Someone needs to look into this place. I would not take my worse enemy there. Think twice please! My friend passed away this morning. How sad . He wasn’t taking care of properly. The ones that gave him the medicine should feel good about themselves. Not!!! Only thing I can say is I’m glad he’s not there . Shame on the one that wouldn’t let his friend from India stay with him all night. The one thing he said was he didn’t want to die alone. The man flew twent hours to be with him yesterday. RIP! My friend. You will be missed

Experiencia negativa: Please do not go by the pictures used on the website. It only takes one visit to know that the pictures shown on the website are definitely not taken of this facility. A dear friend of mine is unfortunately having to spend his last days of life in this facility. Visiting him I walked in to his room to find one of his bedrails on the floor (FALL HAZARD) His call bell was on the floor (SAFETY ISSUE). He is very weak and unable to feed himself. When I arrived at 7pm no one had fed him all day. You will be greeted at the entrance with the smell of strong urine. The worst part are the nurses and care techs that I had interactions with that showed not an ounce of compassion or care. I don’t know who does the hiring or where they find thee people from but they definitely do not belong in the business of caring for the sick. My friend was overly sedated and unfortunately was robbed of the last few days he had left to spend with friends. What I found very concerning was when his nurse walked in and told him she would give him more pain medication when it was due even though he didn’t ask for pain medication. When I asked what he was being given out of concern for how sedated he was, the nurse responded and couldn’t share that with me. Sounds like they view hospice as an acceptable status to keep a patient so sedated that they required no nursing care and pushing them closer to death. This place should be closed.

Experiencia fantástica: Parham Health Care is amazing. My son went there not walking and with the help, support and motivation of the PT department, he can ambulate now with a walker. The nursing staff has been so nice, empathetic, supportive, caring and always smiling to keep his spirits up and his goals in sight. I have many names to mention but don't want to leave anyone out so will come back and leave our list. The social workers have been working with us to get him home by the end of the month. The facility has provided activities that has helped with socializing and boredom. I highly recommend this facility!!!! They are phenomenal!!!!!!

Experiencia negativa: Don't send a loved one here. My stepdaughter was here for almost a year. She was supposed to have her diapers changed every 2 hours. But she was lucky if they were changed at all. They lost all of her stuff in a room where no boxes were marked and refused to open the boxes to find her stuff. Clothes purse etc. They put a woman in her room who constantly yelled, screamed all the time. When we would visit her we had to listen to her screaming and yelling. My stepdaughter got very little sleep. We have her home now and she sleeps good and is a happier woman.

The cafeteria should make sure everything on your plate included meat most of the time his clothes was dirty he could not walk When he left the building ..he got no clothes they it was in the wash they lied then could not find his clothes then they said Medicare will pay for everything then I got 3000.00 bill from y'all . It did not say what it is it for and how much Medicare paid for he was only there 30 days .. I am not going pay the bill they said everything is paid for them they lost his clothes it costed 500.00 for the clothes probably gave it away to other people.... They said Medicare will pay for everything.... Why I get 3000.00 bill for 30 days I guess y'all lied to us

The Director Of Nursing Brittany and Administrator Kourtney Was Awesome with accommodating my father. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to any of my family, friends or colleagues.

All of my calls and concerns are always answered and the administrator Mr Hales has been more than helpful and communicative with everything we have ever brung to him.

Experiencia negativa: Parham Healthcare & Rehabilatation is unsafe for your loved ones. They don't follow Dr's order they follow their own rules. My brother-in-law Anthony Bailey is currently A patient there and he has had nothing but issues. The nurses some of them anyway talk to other patients about him which is a HIPPA violation and telling other nurses not to go into his room which puts him in extreme danger because he is a paraplegic. They don't like when a patient speaks up for themselves.they try to bribe the other patients with extra food. Now that brings me to another subject the food: Anthony Bailey My brother-in-law is supposed to have double protein on ALL his trays Drs orders again the Kitchen can't seem to comprehend that fact. We have had meetings I personally call up there on a daily basically 5-10 a day just to make sure he is being taken care of . The way I see it is if you don't like your job and your just there for the paycheck move on and find a new job!! Now here is one instance where Anthony Bailey should have been brought to the hospital immediately, the Parham Healthcare & rehab could not remove his Foley and it was 3/4 of the way out and Jackie the assistant nursing director told the other nurse to just push it back after it had already been exposed to all the outside germs and she wanted to just push it back in and then just change his bag. It was as if she just didn't want to send him to the hospital. .OH did I mention that they have hung up us his family and they've kept me on hold for 43 minutes and 21 seconds. Now, for my shoutouts and Anthony's favorites first I wanna start with the front desk staff a big shoutout to Miss Wanda Miss Elaina and Miss Kathy y'all went above and beyond what is asked of you, and next is Shree the CNA that is always checking on him and knows exactly how to handle him and then there's Shamika who always goes above and beyond by being in the room for every turn every med time everything when she is working, and then there is Miss Tina she is a pleasure to speak with on the phone and she is right there Anthony when he needs something she handles it.

Experiencia negativa: My boyfriend Anthony Bailey whom, is parapalegic and has a wound on his backside, has been in Parham for almost 2 weeks. It has been a horrible experience for him. The nurses and nurses aide have instructions on how to treat his wound by turning him every 2 hours on each side for it to heal and they have not been doing that, and when Anthony speak on it its an issue, they just start to treat him different and talk negative about him in front of his door and one nurse said she didnt want to be his nurse anymore. The nurses would go to every room to see how patients are doing but they never check on him. And how does a CNA be following suit, if Anthony has an issue with one nurse then all the nurses start to act different towards him. Anthony suppose to be getting range of motion and the nurses and the owner know the lack of motion can cause complications to his body and his bones because of not being able to move his lower part, which also causes him to spazz in his legs uncontrollably. For almost 2 weeks either his family, friends and myself had to call up to the facility just to make sure he has the proper treatment and care he needs and being turned every 2 hours and not after 3 or 4 hours.Tonight Anthony had to wait 3 hours to get turned because no one wanted to help his nurse turn him and that is not right at all they should be doing is there job but its always an issue to do it. There have been conversations held numerous of time with the owner and Anthony. The owner says it would get handled but it never does. Even with the protein, he suppose get double protein and the kitchen have not got his meals right. Now all this is to help his wound heal, the turning on his sides every 2 hours and double proteins. So, i would not recommend this facility for their lack of communication and their negligence towards their patient.

Experiencia negativa: There is no way I can give any stars for the facility at the moment. Their ants all in my sister‘s room which I’ve been talking about for over a week. Her dinner consisted of a piece of turkey and a piece of bacon with leftover bits of lettuce Regional manager said he was going to get her another sandwich yet I was there for another 2 1/2 hours and it never came. My sister was feeling numbness in her face and it took me two hours for the nerves to calm and check her out. I have pictures in the hallways where nobody is anywhere to be , So I told the lady in the bed next to my sister to call 911 if she felt like she was not receiving help when she needed it. Experiencia negativa: This facility smelled like straight human feces as soon as you walked in the door. My grandma was there for maybe 36 hours she had not been changed for a full 24 hours. I came in the very next day after she had been admitted there At 8:15 AM (Visiting hours are 8 to 8) And her nurse call button, Was unplugged from the wall and on the floor. She was hyper ventilating Because they had not given her any medication, At 8:15, she immediately asked me to figure out what was going on with her meds and to have them change her, which is not like her because she is on the younger side It’s quite embarrassing for her, I would not recommend putting any of your loved ones in this facility.

Experiencia negativa: My sister asked for pain medicine and to change her dressing on her knee I was there for 2 hrs. And nobody came . So how is this helping anybody to recuperate.

Experiencia negativa: My husband had a urinary track infection they would have known about iff they had ever taken the urine they collected to the lab. That night he kept saying I have to go.to the bathroom but could 't go. He called the nurse on duty. When they didn't come he tried to get out of bed he fell twice. There answer to this was to take him upfront and make him sit there until 2 a.m.. The next day we took him out of Parham Rehab. We brought him home only to have him taken back to the hospital that night where he was diagnosed with sepsis. Had he stayed there he may have died.

Experiencia negativa: This is a horrible place to put your loved one(s) in! The first day I went to visit my Pops, it smelled like human waste; urine, and it was hot, we were sweating. When I call to try to talk to my Pops, either I’m on hold for 20 plus minutes or no one answers the phone at all. I called SIX times on 5 January 2024 and I didn’t get an answer at all. I’ve told him if he doesn’t hear from me it’s because no one ever answers the phone. It’s like no one wants to do their job that they’ve APPLIED to do. This place and people should be ASHAMED of themselves! Unfortunately, I live in New Mexico so I can’t visit him as much as I’d like.

Experiencia positiva: The employees make the experience. They are all good people from Nurses , doctors , therapists and regular staff. All polite , caring and educated in what they do.

Experiencia negativa: Discharge wasn't coordinated. I was told a date two days actually before my mother's Discharge date. Nothing was prepared for her Discharge. Waited two hours for her discharge. She could have two more days to build up her physical strenght. Went to pharmacy to pick up meds. One was a narcotic that had to be sent in on-line, I only received paper prescriptions. I called the rehab 5 times from the pharmacy, no answer. I arrived at the rehab while phone was ringing, the receptionist was lolly gagging with a co-worker.

Experiencia fantástica: Parahm was there to assist my cousin sister Tracey at a time when no one will take her in for rehab. The room had a working television the staff was very tentative. They have functions around major holidays so that patients are not left feeling alone and family can join as well. The admission process was very smooth as well as her discharge. We now have a place for loved ones to go when no one is willing to help and assist in a time in need.

Experiencia fantástica: When I 1st got there from the hospital I was scared cause I was far away from home. But thanks to my physical therapist Luke, both my occupational therapist Jeana and Meg, and the amazing CNAs Alexis and Lou Lou and nurse Rachel I became more comfortable and confident about being there and within the 3mths of me being there they got me walking and being able to the stuff I needed to come home to my kids. They were more than the people that took care of me they become my friends and I even consider them family. I working hard to get my self better so I can come and visit everyone. Thank you guys so much for everything.

Experiencia fantástica: The nursing staff at Parham Health and Rehab have been absolutely AMAZING! The admissions department kept us informed on everything from the time our mother admitted to the facility. Brittney and Sherie were so pleasant. The nursing staff on the unit our stays on was very nice and professional. Danielle is the absolute BEST! Her CNAs were very nice and helpful as well. The Administrator Kourtney was so nice to us, he gave us his business card and phone number when we were in to visit. It's impressive that he is a nurse as well so he understood our needs and said he would make sure the DON and Unit Manager followed up with us. Mom's overall stay has been perfect!

Experiencia negativa: I would not send anybody here. They are the worst, the nurses station never pick-up the phone unless the receptionists call back there and let someone knows there is someone waiting on the line. The front receptionist are very great especially the one that works in the evenings I forget her name but she's the only person that has given me high hopes. She's been great at getting the help we need everytime we call and at relaying any informations we need as well. As far as nurses and staff behind the doors they do not help and neglect the people that live there. These people live in their beds if they cannot get up on their own. Everything goes south if their bosses are not working and you can tell the difference. The administrator, Kourtney, is no help either, he treats everybody differently and obviously has his favorites. As a family member of a resident, I should not be able to tell your having a bad day or one of your employees ruined your day. I believe thats very unprofessional especially as an administrator. I have so many complaints about this place and I can go on forever but take my advice do not send your loved ones here

Experiencia positiva: today was the first day I got to see my husband he was admitted into your facility yesterday. The first person who greeted him by the transport company that brought him was eating food at the front desk and said to the transport company what’s his name? The transport company said Parker was his last name and Tim corrected them saying it’s really Finley-Parker with a hyphen. she continued to eat, and she looked at a piece of paper and said room 59. she never once asked or acknowledged that he was a new arrival and did not even welcome him and went right back to eating. And he just told me this tonight when I came and I told him he should tell someone so I’m telling you that wasn’t the best way to greet a new arrival. Today when I got there, I had a nice welcome met my husband’s roommate and we chatted for a while and then my husband and I talked for a few minutes and he was in a good mood and felt like things were going to be good there. He’s looking forward to starting PT tomorrow and told him he wants them to work him hard. He said his wound technician today did a great job dressing as wounds and he knows what it supposed to be like as we’ve been doing this for a year and a half now and I have a good hopes of everything being positive at your facility. Thank you in advance for taking care of my husband and I will be hopefully giving you more good reviews. Kitt

I can’t thank the administrator enough for his professionalism and kindness . He goes out of his way to satisfy the residents and families. Getting my family thru a hard time in a comfortable way. I appreciate each and everyone one to the fullest!

When you walk down the hallways, you will always see smiling staff members who care for our residents and patients. Clinical care and rehabilitation are top notch at this center, and no one in the Richmond area can compare to the care one will receive at Parham. 100% of patients who are discharged home rate Parham as providing excellent care and would recommend others to come to this center! Many staff members are so confident in the services Parham Health and Rehab provide, that they have placed their family members in the caring and capable hands of the center. Experiencia fantástica: This place is wonderful. I got more done here in two weeks than I did in a month at the hospital. They really got me goin again. It was a great help to have the staff and doctors and therapy by our side throughout my recovery. The staff was very patient and accommodating. From day one everyone put their all into making sure everything was perfect. And I really felt like they were there for my entire family while we worked through my recent changes in health and independence.

Experiencia fantástica: In my work in the community as a nurse I have encountered many skilled nursing facilities. They are not all the same. There are terrible ones, ok ones and excellent ones. This is most definitely an excellent one. I first came to Parham for a patient when I was a hospice nurse in the community. I was immediately greeted with NO SMELL! It is amazing. That rarely happens. I walked to the unit, where I was greeted by every staff member that walked past me. The nurses I worked with were knowledgeable and welcoming of a stranger in their house (which doesn't always happen). My patient received wonderful care and when, a year later, I was in the market for a job, I found the same welcoming faces on my way to the interview. I have worked at Parham for over 3 years now and have seen some wonderful and caring nurses and healthcare workers develop and grow. I am happy to work here and encourage anyone looking for a quality healthcare facility for a loved one or a job in the healthcare field to come and see it for yourself!
