Experiencia positiva: My child after surgery visited two Cora locations. They seem not pay attention to younger patients. 4 different therapists each time. Eyes in a laptop, or chatting with the staff. They say give me 10 of those and turn away. I wanted to give them a chance, but no more. Disappointing.

They listen to what I would say and change therapy if it needed to be. They were positive and always praised the tiny steps you made. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. Experiencia fantástica: I'm not one to give reviews, but when people truly deserve it, you have to tell people. The group at Cora Physical Therapy on 4th st. in St. Petersburg are an exceptional group. Daniel in the front office was always helpful and pleasant and worked with me to schedule appointments. I had a neck injury and Michelle (PT), Matt(PT) worked a program up for my recovery and got me started on the right track, and Jordan (Tech) worked with me on several occasions and did outstanding as well. I also worked with two other young ladies a couple of times but I unfortunately can remember there names, but no matter which of the 5 of them I worked with on a given day, all were polite, respectful and professional and seemed to have a genuine concern for my well being. I also have an issues with my arm so had to have OT treatment as well. I started out with Kourtney who was great, but she took a leave after a few sessions and I had Madeline. at first I was a little concerned, because I really liked Kourtney, but Madeline has been wonderful and has such a pleasant personality, that it actually brightens my day when I have OT. Everyone I have encountered there is just great.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Michelle and staff have not only treated my injury but also took steps to prevent me from injuring it again. Everything possible to prevent surgery and it has worked. I came in with 4 surgeries and until I met Dr Michelle did not realize my symptoms each of the 6 times prior were re-herniating my disc. She changed her entire approach for my symptoms and was able to get me to move my head again pain free. After pain free went back to my ways in the gym and herniated it again. This is when Dr. Michelle taught me something that has let me remain in the gym pain free which was “Push to pain and not through pain.” I worked with more than just her but she is an example of who you are working with. The best of the best.

I have unfortunately been in and out of PT for a few years due to some chronic issues, and Matt/Michelle have by far been the most helpful therapists I’ve worked with throughout that process. While I still have a lot of work to do, my quality of life has significantly improved due to their help.

Experiencia positiva: My mom has been attending here for 2 weeks or so… She has memory loss and easily distracted, I told them that at the consultation that she needs one on one. Every time I bring her I find myself doing their job on keeping my mother on task . They would show her the exercise and then walk away and attend another client while my mom will stop and start looking around the room for the therapist while I’m there pushing my mom to continue the exercises ( I don’t mind helping but every exercise? I’m there to help them and her especially when she gets aggressive or to tell her what a great job she’s doing ) but should be doing their job . she’s fighting me wanting to leave or telling me she doesn’t want to continue with exercises. I wish I was told they don’t do one on one sessions . I tried to pull the therapist aside and discuss my concerns and as I was telling him my concerns he started to talk loudly and walking away while I was talking and wouldn’t let me put in a word, also taking loudly in front of clients and staff members. He said that this is not the setting for my mom and that they double book their schedules .and soo much more ..so what I understood was take your mom else where .. HE WAS RUDE . He didn’t care what I had to say. I was also concerned about how long the sessions was and he was shouting her insurance don’t cover this that ( I wouldn’t have had a problem paying out of pocket for more time ) the conversation didn’t go well and he just walked away leaving mid conversation ... UNPROFESSIONAL ‼️no one should be talked like that. I will be reaching out to the hire ups regarding how I was treated today! Ps . Not all staff members are like this But one bad apple can ruin the whole tree‼️ Update.. I called and spoke with Michelle she explained more in-depth my concerns. And we both feel Cora is not a great fit for my mothers needs . She was polite and understanding. And she apologized for the employee behavior. Instead of one star ⭐️ I changed it to 3 stars after the conversation with Michelle. Thank you Michelle!

Experiencia negativa: Was looking forward to going to PT after a bad back injury but after one week of treatment (which was fine, they did seem to double up on many patients as other reviewers have said) they said my copay would cost triple what they initially told me. For over a week they allegedly tried to solve the insurance issue (which was INTERNAL, I learned, after calling my insurance assuming it was their mistake). There was no offer to help beyond offering a payment plan. When I called to finally cancel my future appointments there was no apology, just doubling down that the rate would be that high despite my insurance agent calling them to say that I was covered. I will say this is my personal experience - it seems a lot of others have enjoyed their time at Cora (although interestingly none of the reviews have mentioned any of the therapists I saw while I was there).

Experiencia negativa: Update: It’s been a few (business) days since I posted my review. Today I received a personal call from the clinic manager. She took ownership, was extremely apologetic and personable. She expressed she is taking the experience and concerns I had extremely seriously. She also advised the OT that was there was just filling in and wanted to set me up with the OT that’s normally there. I appreciate the urgency and concern from the clinic manager. I’m not changing my review (right now) but I will add a star for how they are handling my concerns. ————————————————————— NO Privacy NO SANITATION NO Help NO Service This was my experience. I’m not insinuating the other reviews are fake . I scheduled and went in for the initial evaluation. The environment and staff was not welcoming. I say this because the entire staff (besides the receptionist) gazed/looked at me the entire time as if I had a booger on my face . It’s a small store front and machines are basically stacked on top of each other. (True definition of crammed). There was another patient at the table with me getting occupational therapy as I was doing my evaluation. Occupational therapy is given at a small curved table in the corner. There is zero privacy, especially if they’ve scheduled more than one person at a time. She asked me questions regarding my medical condition(s) and I had to answer while the other client was in the next seat over. Also, the therapist had the other client use multiple items and she just put them away. There was no type of sanitation. She can’t say she was going to sanitize it later. It was now mixed in with “clean” items and she wouldn’t be able to tell which is which. I’ve had occupational therapy in the past. This is something I have to do for the rest of my life. This was not an evaluation! Whatever I told her is what she wrote down. She barely did a eval, handed me some pamphlets and sent me on my way. Every other eval over the years at least used a measuring tape… She didn’t know what my condition was, I had to explain it to her (in front of the other client). (I’m not sure how she was going to treat me or do a proper evaluation if she didn’t know or understand my condition). You guys should definitely do homework before your clients come in. When they didn’t reach back out to me, I thought it was unprofessional but not surprising. Insurance company advised me Cora was given the approval back in February but no one from Cora ever reached back out to me. I wonder why… ‍♀️? The stares… I told you I thought a booger was on my face . The guy at the receptionist desk was nice. He may have been new because he seemed a little nervous. I was going to go to this location (4th street) for occupational therapy. The south side location was sent a referral for physical therapy and never reached out for a consult.

Experiencia fantástica: I was treated by Matt, Ashley, and Cam, for nearly 5 months, and I feel so much better! Their plans, including my at home exercises, have really made a positive impact on my life. They were all very professional, kind, and made the sessions fun as well. Over the 5 months I watched the entire staff also be professional and kind with all their patients. I will use Cora in north St. Petersburg again if I need therapy and highly recommend it to anyone needing therapy.

My brother was going to the 4th St clinic.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently had back surgery and was placed at CORA for my Physical Therapy. I don't think I have had a better experience at any other place before. Working with Lorie has been wonderful. She has done a great job in helping me with my recovery. All the staff is very polite and they make the experience there a little more fun rather than just about exercise. It makes the therapy go better when you can laugh and joke with the people around you. I would recommend this location to anyone, especially to go to Dr. Lorie!!

I was never pushed to do more than I could do and still felt a sense of accomplishment at the end of my session. I have to agree with the referring neurologist Dr. Thomas Newman M.D. from Neurological Specialties in Tampa, that CORA "Is one of the better ones" in the field. I'll go a step further. They are the most professional, compassionate, patient-focused and knowledgeable medical professionals in the business. They took me from very painful and multiple injuries from a fall down a whole flight of stairs and really turned around my entire medical condition with the most precise and effective treatment regimen I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Experiencia fantástica: Cora Rehabilitation is a wonderful place to get stronger and work on your weaknesses. I have Cervical Dystonia with tremors so at times I have more difficult days then others. The wonderful staff there lead by Lorrie have always adjusted my workouts to my abilities. My issues have been balance, grip strength and neck spasms and on and off tremoring due to my illness. The staff is very professional, makes you feel very comfortable and are very up beat which is great when your not feeling so hot and having a bad day. I'm very glad my neurologist /primary doctors decided I needed therapy. And refereed me to Cora !

Experiencia fantástica: CORA was so friendly and never made me wait long to start my therapy. I feel great and know a lot of exercises to continue care at home!

Experiencia positiva: Friendly enough. I was advised by PT to get imaging done; however, I was told "we don't do that" (in regard to providing the order for requested test) and to go to a walk-in or the ER. I tried to find a walk-in with the required tools to complete said imaging, no luck, and I'm not going to an ER. I called my neurologist's office to let them know what PT suspected and are requesting. Neurologist said not to return to CORA. It seemed like the staff were friendly and wanted to help, but at the same time, were unprofessional and going outside their scope of practice. PT may have documented one type of imaging test, but PT clearly and repeatedly, with confirmation when i asked for an order, stated a different imaging test to me. Likely all miscommunication, but when I'm over it. I'm done.

Experiencia fantástica: I was referred to CORA by my primary care for tendinitis in my right hand. Kourtney was an amazing OT and helped me regain my everyday mobility in only a few months. She is incredibly kind, effective and I always looked forward to seeing her at my appointments.

Experiencia fantástica: I have an impingement in my left shoulder complicated by osteoarthritis and both Ashley Kimberling and Michelle Richman listened, evaluated and put together a comprehensive stretching and strengthening program that has given me a huge amount of relief and ability to use my left arm again with less pain and more range of motion. They can't fix osteoarthritis but they sure did make it better! Both are excellent therapists and they even gave me a full print out of my exercises to do with bands while I am traveling! These ladies know what they're doing and will have you feeling better in no time!

Experiencia fantástica: I've been sent there a few times by my doctor for therapy and after the first time I requested to go back there when I needed to go again. I have been using their Wellness program now for a couple of years. I like going there instead of a big gym. If I have questions about doing a certain exercise, I know they will have the right answers. Everyone is very nice, knowledgeable and really takes time to answer any questions you might have whether it's about exercise or scheduling. I really think Michelle, Matt and the rest of the staff are great. I recommend them every chance I get.

Experiencia negativa: Don't Do IT! Went to CORA Physical Therapy after meniscus surgery. Even before filling out paperwork I was asked how many times a week did I want to come. I asked would there be a co-pay or would I have an amount that would go toward my deductible. Michelle Richman PT, DPT & manager took my insurance card and looked it up. She told me that no there would be no additional charges and my insurance would cover the PT sessions 100%. Five months later I got a bill. I went down & spoke with Michelle and she said well we don't handle that call the number on the bill. Spoke to billing representative and she acknowledged that Michelle could see that I had not met my deductible and that I would have to pay for each session that wasn't covered by insurance. The representative told me this happens often where the Therapy office is not as up front about costs as they should be. This is very unprofessional. It seems they will do anything to get people in there. Will be informing my Surgeon about this facility. I filled out paperwork and went back to start my very first session with Michelle. She did very little assessment and was very distracted by also having to instruct/observe another client at the same time I was there. The exercises were very route. It was less than 48 hours since my surgery and the instructions were to do 30 reps of each exercise. Very little feed back. Michelle was very busy with the computer the whole time and complained about getting Carpel Tunnel from all the typing while massaging her wrists. Red flag here for me was how could a PT not know how to take care of herself so that she would not be suffering from Carpel Tunnel Syndrome? Was sent home with the exact same exercises to do at home with 30 reps each. The plan was for me to come in 3x per week. I had a broken leg some years ago and the PT there was amazing. Giving me homework that was different than what I did at the clinic so has to have some variety. Called my Surgeon and told him I could do a better PT plan using my old protocol from my broken leg. This is a group PT environment with the PT's floating around and not really watching your movements or need for adjustments. Yuck

Experiencia fantástica: The team at this CORA location is incredible. Therapists Michelle, Cam and Matt are the best therapists I ever had. The front desk support is helpful and very kind as well. The therapists are knowledgeable, but it goes far beyond that. They listen and they make suggestions based on your feedback. They think outside the box when needed. They never push beyond one's abilities, but instead, teach how to be patient and persistent with oneself, one step at a time. I healed my rotator cuff with them with this simple and compassionate method. Much better then other places where I was treated, where I didn't feel heard and was pushed to do things that felt like I was making things worse. This is the best team in St. Pete! I am very grateful for everything they have done for me! I highly recommend it!

I recently underwent left hand surgery with Dr. Penello in St. Petersburg in May 2022. I found CORA online doing research and could not be happier with the location on 4th St in St. Petersburg. I go to CORA for Occupation Therapy for my left hand – twice per week, I underwent tendon repair after a year of not being able to utilize my left thumb. I have been working with Kourtney/ Therapist. She is amazing. She is very thorough and gets you moving, while always assessing your pain and addressing any concerns you have. She is truly knowledgeable. I have worked with many Occupational Therapists, in my profession and will definitely say she is one of the best I have worked with. I highly recommend her. If you are needing OT, ask for Kourtney and you will receive great care, she will get you moving and back to doing things you love. I also want to say the over staff there is incredible as well. Everyone is very nice and respectful. Thank you CORA!

Experiencia negativa: Please don't go here for occupational therapy! After going here for a few weeks, I cut my therapy short with Cora and went somewhere else because the experience was so terrible. I saw 4 different therapists within 4 weeks, 1 who was still in training. There were up to 3 other patients with 1 therapist at the same time, spreading them thin and not giving you the care that someone deserves. I left this place with additional injuries to my wrist that I did not have before going here. My first appointment I was told that we needed to hurry up because there were more patients coming. I was on time for my appointment, so I'm not sure why I was rushed. They messed up the billing a few times, which I had to battle over and waste a few hours of my day, a few times. They have high turnover, and rotate therapists, having them drive from far away to try and fill the spots. On 1 appointment, I was told after 30 min my time was up, when I stayed for about 45 min to an hour with other therapists. They said it was because of insurance reasons. At this point, I was done with them. The new facility I went to to finish my therapy didn't have any issues with my insurance and I was there for at least an hour each time. I saw the same therapist each time so they were very in sync with my progress. You deserve better than this place can offer and there are other places that will give you the care you deserve. Please don't go here for occupational therapy.

Experiencia fantástica: What can I say about this place. I've been going here everyday (M-Fri) for over a year. Have made incredible progress from some very difficult things, especially walking. I came in just starting with a walker after being in a wheelchair after getting out of the hospital for over a month with PRES (water on the brain). Marsha and Kayla worked with me the most my first two months before I moved to the FIT program. They're amazing people and now Michelle, Matt and Cam are always there to help me with any questions I may have. They're the best as well. I always look forward to seeing everyone each day. I would never go anywhere else for my physical therapy or occupational therapy needs.

The staff listen to each person and tailor your therapy every time you visit. It is very clean and staff are vigilant about cleaning equipment.

Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely love it here for my PT treatment. I’ve gone to a lot of different facilities and this is by far the best experience I’ve ever had. I always say “I’m going to cancel my gym membership” because I’m not only getting the correct muscle strengthening but the understanding and knowledge of what to do, when I am having a bad back day. Coping is a whole lot easier with a few new moves. If you’re willing to put the work in, they’re going to give you the tools you need to stay motivated.

I felt like he looked at things critically, and was able to identify what I needed through his personal evaluation. Experiencia fantástica: I was highly referred to CORA PT via dear friend.I was there for a left knee revision. Everyone there from the receptionist, Tiffany to the therapists I worked with, Marsha,Kayla, Angel each were very personable,very knowledgeable and really cared about how I was coming along from one visit to the next. I felt very comfortable with everyone there and the safety precautions for COVID-19 were taken seriously. Masks were always worn by employees and patients, plenty of hand sanitizer was available, as well as used on every piece of equipment prior to the next person using it, they thoroughly cleaned each piece. I learned a lot on how properly do my knee exercises there and at home. As far as scheduling they were very flexible. The staff was excellent, at times we chatted but always stayed focused on me working on my knee. I am giving 5 stars they all deserve it. I was recently discharged, and I miss everyone they really helped me get my knee strong as well as being careful that I did the excercises correctly as always offer me if I wanted ice on my knee when I was completely finished. My suggestion is if you are willing to work hard at therapy this is where you should choose to go you will be happy you did choose CORA!,,,,

Experiencia fantástica: I saw Kyle for a shoulder injury about a year ago. He was awesome. He listened, was patient, paid attention, and seemed passionate about helping me get out of pain. I felt like he looked at things critically, and was able to identify what I needed through his personal evaluation. He certainly helped me, and I highly recommend him to anyone who is struggling to find someone that can actually help you. I am eternally grateful.

Experiencia fantástica: I was in a bit of bad shape when I first started therapy. After working with Kyle, Marsha, and Jon, my whole world became better. I can now walk with out a cane or falling down. My neck is so much better I can now drive with ease and with confidence!! Experiencia fantástica: I am a client at this physicality my experience there exceeded my expectations i was diagnosed as a quadriplegic but not any more I Move Again From the front desk with Tiff and Salest professional, polite, and helpful To the OT department with Carlie assisted by Amanda with an amazing endurance and strengthening plan set for my condition to where I am challenged to reach for the sky literally with stretch bands,med balls and weights and a little cheerleading they help me reach a new goal each time im there. To the PT department with John, Marsha and Kyle who helped me move and pushed me to move I am stronger to be able to do things i could not do before such as transfers and more both departments give me homework which i love because it keeps me motivated and interested in my progress they will not let you slack they will push you to do better. If you are determined this is where you need to be. I recommend Cora Rehab Clinics to anyone serious about wanting to rehabilitate you will be so pleased with your out come. Experiencia fantástica: Very professional, clean, positive environment. I was very pleased with my OT Carly. Good conversationalist, knowledgeable, courteous and very helpful. Definitely a great place to heal and rehabilitate.

Experiencia negativa: Unfortunately I can't give a positive review for my experience with Cora. My therapist was fine, though many times overwhelmed with patients resulting in little if any individual attention. The facility needs desperate help (they put two folding chairs on a CUSHIONED table and had me use it as a "squat rack"... highly unsafe) but it was extremely convenient for me to go here for the hours and proximity to my office. So I stuck it out for a few months and am doing better. Now that I am fully discharged, I have recieved MULTIPLE bills all saying I owe anywhere from $570 to $670ish. This is ridiculous! I paid every time I went, and they had MONTHS that I was there to figure it out. I am not the first person to go to Cora that carries health insurance. Cora deprived me of the opportunity to make an informed decision about my medical care. I would have sought a different facility knowing how much I was dishing out every time I went somewhere with a broken treadmill (which is really quite awful for a runner to be going to a therapist with NO TREADMILL, a very basic piece of equipment that should be in every office). And the fact that the amount I am being retroactively billed is changing has to be a joke. Save yourself a headache and choose a different facility. Cora is a greedy company that overbooks their staff and leaves you with a monstrous bill. Edit 1/28/2020: it has been approximately 4 months since I have been discharged. CORA still has not sent me a final billing and continues to blame my insurance company (Aetna isn't a small business and I am sure I can't be the first person to use Aetna at their facilities...). Every single time they send me an updated bill it increases. All I want to do is close my account and sever all ties with this shady business, but that seems to be asking too much. Aetna no longer even considers this facility in network and I can see why. You are a ridiculous company taking advantage of people in medical need. Shame on you .

Experiencia fantástica: I went here for physical therapy on my hips. They did help me gain some movement and strength during my time there. Wonderful employees all the way around. Courteous and knowledgeable about what they are doing. The therapists were very encouraging. That helps a lot.

Experiencia fantástica: The two therapist Kyle and Zachary are absolutely amazing! My therapist was Kyle. Which ever one you're assigned to, you won't lose. Instead of self sabotaging about your injury, your mind is easily distracted by friendly conversations with staff and people that are being treated. What I really loved was that some of the excersises can be done by using simple home equipment. Highly recommend this place!
