Experiencia fantástica: my stay was absolutely unforgettable, im going to start from my entrance : The way they welcomed you to the facility was wonderful and welcoming with big smile and so much kindness, made me feel so comfortable. Rooms were so clean and spacious. Staff as far as CNAs, Nurses, Drs, and the staff from the kitchen, and also the housekeeping staff were so KIND, RESPECTFUL and they were treating you as a part of the family. The way they explained every single thing was with kindness. Now, im going to give my experience with the staff in Physical therapy and all the physical therapists, so knowledgeable so kind. When I was I Encopmass all my friends and relatives were visiting and were impressed. Meal: Very good quality and perfect. I have to thank them for the hospitality and for taking good care of me.e

Experiencia negativa: Horrible experience. The PT/OT/speech therapy are great rehabilitation but not nursing and management. My husband, a cardiac patient after aortic dissection/aneurysm/stroke.. near miss .. almost gave a BP med without checking vitals..almost gave coumadin without INR.. btw, wait 30mins-60mins to have the call light answered.. case manager disorganized— most disciplines reassured me to be given a transportation upon discharge (going straight to an appointment) to find out that case mgmt discussed it with another family member that it was us to provide transpo (right there their treatment team aren’t communicating) still under the impression that we are to be transported, but, we are getting late for our appointment. I asked about equipment such as walker and wheelchair.. had NO answer.. (they should at least tell me if they provide it or not .. it’s ok because I can check Amazon or something.. instead I left without any answer) I complained about the sink water because the water coming out is milky color.. A tech told me “oh the supervisor office is there (pointing at an office) Lol, I wanna say “ok honey, just sit down and breathe “.. I cannot.. btw, that wasn’t taken care of until we get discharged.. anyway, in the end we discharged, I have to drag my husband after open heart surgery to my car in the heat of Az! No wheelchair or walker.. (thank you to the nurse that took us out using their wheelchair at least to my car) . Poor service, you have to be vigilant about their quality of work. Wait they’re not particular about certain diets, umm cardiac diet isn’t that cardiac.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff are wonderful. The pt and 0t staff are extremely competent. The nursing staff is amazing and attentive. The nursing aids are kind, gentle and compassionate. The cafeteria staff were so attentive and made sure my food was adjusted to my diet plans. I was treated with respect and kindness. I highly recommend this rehab hospital. In ten days after open heart surgery I was able to return home independently. The rehab doctors are very skilled and I had individualized plans. I saw them daily.

Experiencia fantástica: This was a very positive experience for me. Everyone was kind polite and helpful,very encouraging. The Nursing staff was extremely helpful and assisted in everway they could. The Physical therapy department and Occupational therapy dept. was top notch they give you the push to go forward to improving, they went above and beyond to help me get to the winners circle of discharge home. I can't possibly thank the CNA's the RN's for their love and care that they daily give out. The Environmental services dept.was excellent in keeping my room clean and there on the spot for any accidents. Overall this is the best facility for you or a loved one for rehabilitation.

Experiencia fantástica: I had the absolute best experience at ENCOMPASS of North Scottsdale. I can literally say that Every single staff member that I came into contact with during my 11 day stay was super kind to me and not only to me but every time I’ve observe them with other patients, they were respectful attentive and always thinking of the patient. I saw it before my own eyes, I lived it as well. I am so thankful for that made a difference in my life. I am on the mend from a left leg below the knee amputation my physical therapist was Dr. Janae. She would prefer to just be called (Janae) again proving the humility of the staff. Too many to mention on the PT one OT teams by name like Michael and Mary and Cheryl and Toya and Steve . And the kitchen staff !! Wow Taylor was the ALLSTAR. You will see very quickly when you decide on encompass today for your rehabilitation needs Thank you encompass! I am forever grateful for this experience. As you can see in my photos I enjoyed the pet therapy !!

Experiencia negativa: We placed my mother at Encompass after having a massive stroke which left her completely dependent upon care for ALL of her needs including feeding. We were assured that she would get 1 to 1 care for meals and drinks. After only a few days she was given a hot cup of coffee by a CNA and left by herself and promptly spilled the coffee leaving her with 2nd degree burns on her legs. Additionally beware of the care by specific doctors who spend less than 5 minutes with patients and proceed to provide medical direction against the patient and families wishes. When we brought this to the attention of the social work and administrative teams we were met with legalize and resistance.

Experiencia fantástica: As I am being discharged from Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital tomorrow, I wanted to express my gratitude for an absolutely wonderful experience in my rehab. The PT and OT teams carefully assessed my condition, and created an integrated, progressive plan to bring me to a much higher level of function than I had even hoped. As a retired physician, I am aware that complete recovery is unlikely, but the careful planning and the gentle forward “nudges” that the staff applied improved my functional level beyond what I thought possible in a little over two weeks time. It was obvious that my care was discussed daily in staff meetings, assuring a coordination of care that was truly impressive. And the staff was consistently helpful and encouraging, supportive when I was having bad days, and unfailingly concerned — checking on my condition regularly, and never failing to inquire if I needed anything else before leaving the room. It was obvious that they were stretched at times, but the wait was seldom long for a response to a call light, and 99% of the time with a smile (well, OK make that 92% when taking some disruptions down the hall on night shift into consideration) I’m surprised that some reviewers complained about the food; there were choices every day and while not “exotic” it was tasty and well-prepared. In leaving here tomorrow, I will certainly be glad to be home, but I feel like I’m leaving a family of caring friends behind. Thanks again for all the wonderful work you do in a stressful situation.

Experiencia negativa: Subject: Formal Complaint against Encompass Post Acute Care Dear Encompass Post Acute Care Management, I am writing to express my deep concerns and dissatisfaction with the services provided at your facility. Firstly, I would like to bring attention to the lack of effective communication within the facility. My concerns were consistently disregarded, and the nursing staff avoided addressing my issues. This lack of communication led to an increase in my agitation and further deterioration of the situation. Secondly, I am deeply disturbed by the level of patient care I received. The staff's assumption that I was intoxicated was not only incorrect but also highly disrespectful. I am a sober individual, as confirmed by multiple tests, and the staff's insinuation was unjustified and inappropriate. Moreover, I was treated poorly upon my departure from the facility. I was trespassed and my personal belongings, including my cell phone and credit card, were lost by the staff. Despite their claim of safekeeping, my belongings were not returned to me upon discharge. This action has caused significant inconvenience and distress. I also want to highlight the staff's assumption that I had the strength to walk independently, which is not accurate. I am physically incapable of walking without assistance, and the staff's inaccurate assumption further undermines the quality of care I received. In conclusion, I strongly urge you to address these issues promptly and effectively. I expect a thorough investigation into these matters and a satisfactory resolution. Experiencia fantástica: I was at Encompass Scottsdale mid-March 2024 - got home two days ago. I cannot thank the entire staff, nurses, PT's OT's, case manager, etc enough. I felt like there was a "beehive" of activity around me, making sure not only I was provided necessary meds for pain, but also PT resources for getting back on my feet. A special TY to Alysia and my other nurses (I wish I had a list of the people to thank personally). But all in all, a great experience.

Experiencia negativa: I'd give zero stars if I could because of the treatment of my brother while in their care following major surgery. At one point he became nonverbal and was sent off by their staff to his medical appointments via medical transport with no shoes on and dirty clothes that they turned inside out, instead of helping him to have dignity and dress him in clean clothes and shoes that we provided for him. That is just one example of many we have regarding their treatment of my beloved family member. Even with visitors daily to ensure proper care for him, it was still lacking at this facility in many ways. A friendly smile at the front desk cannot cover up for the lack of care/treatment of their patients. I have heard horror stories of poor treatment at long-term care facilities but I never thought we'd receive it at Encompass Health Scottsdale.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is the best - amazing care, compassion and genuine presence. It is unlike the majority of hospitals and provides stand out service in every area. They not only talk about providing compassionate care they actually do it while asking for your feedback, input and giving you a voice as the highest authority about your wn body. I wouldn't take my family members anywhere else. When you are already in a vulnerable place, the most important issue is safety and respect and you will get both here!

Experiencia fantástica: I was an inpatient for 60 days and I found the the rehab therapists to be outsanding. They had me doing things better and faster than I evefr imagined. I relearned to walk, speak and do ADL in 1/5th the time they orginally told me. The nursing staff was good and bad. Unlike the therapists who were 4/5ths outstanding unfortunately it was reversed with regard to the nursing staff. I give them 5 stars because the therapy organization was so fair above any rehab facility I have seen. They work you hard but it is worth it. They are also always on time except for one therapist. That is quite a feat in the medical field where you seem to spend as much time waiting as seeing the professional. 5 cheers for Healthsouth of Scottsdale.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm Norma a taxi driver and I was here to pick someone up. As I was waiting I noticed these guys interact with their patients and they were nice and attentive. It was genuine and really heartwarming to watch, actually everyone that walked by greeted me with a smile and asked if I had been helped. Ezma was so helpful and down to earth, Bret was really nice to talk to a well. I'm not going to lie it felt like I was visiting with friends not to mention it was so clean and it smelled good. I had such a great experience I had to write about it. I would bring my loved ones here anyday.

Experiencia negativa: I rarely post reviews, but this afternoon I was shocked and appalled seeing people working on the roof of this place in the Arizona heat. One of them was an older gentleman!!!! Almost 120 degrees out and they were working on the roof. I cannot believe that would even be allowed it’s so hazardous!! Absolutely ridiculous and disgusting.

Experiencia negativa: Drove by and saw WORKERS ON THE ROOF during the HOTTEST WEEK OF THE YEAR. 116+ out and you have these poor men working on your roof in Arizona in July? Such a disgrace. This is really shameful. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them gets heat stoke because of this.... This should be illegal. In fact, isn't it illegal?!?! This should be reported.

Experiencia positiva: I spent 2 weeks at encompass after a stroke and was glad I went through this as very beneficial and timely despite some limitations that should be improved, I was bit surprised to many bad reviews as I don't agree . Best Part was therapy, in order best was PT then OT finally ST but all great and this was based on my needs. One OT therapist felt sorry for me in hospital gowns all the time as I nothing of own so bought me 2 T shirts The nursing was bit mixed, staff seemed bit overworked, some were awful and almost rude but didn't care. There was positive side Gloria was very nice and even bought me some puzzle books as good for mind and relieved boredom. Christine was incredibly nice, friendly and seemed to real care and was so responsive to all needs, wonderful all around. Management was worst part, they seemed good to my external contact but I got no answers or anything, very poor. As example I apparently tested positive to Covid and found as nurse coming to help me were wearing Covid protective clothing, same when after isolation I tested negatively but nobody told me. That is 1 of several bad experiences. Other than that hospital is very clean and has good facilities, liked the outside courtyard to get out from therapy to get fresh air and sun. I thought food was good and nice to have choices. But I didn't like the bed however nurses agreed to my request to sleep part of nights in recliner which was better for me.

I got a call from the facility that the medical director would like me to stay for a couple days to make sure he feels comfortable and is doing well. I’m a patient advocate and I assist in placing patients in rehab facilities and many times the results are not good. Extremely understaffed and substandard care. I can’t say enough about the care my son received at Encompass. He had several Doctors caring for him. Several different Therapists. They were a team so always the same caregivers. They had a treatment plan specific to my son’s need. He got to choose what type of therapy he wanted to do each day. Outdoor, gym, pool, games. He loved the food and they would bring him as much food as he wanted day or night. Continually checking on his comfort and needs and included family in his treatment. Every single staff member was incredible. Most staff had been there for many years. From intake to discharge phenomenal care. His progress was incredible!! Don’t hesitate to entrust your loved ones to Encompass.

Experiencia fantástica: When i first got there The nurse has made sure I had everything I needed from the start of my stay to the my Discharge day the staff was very Nice and encouragingThe food was great to know i was my needs got Taken care of I would definitely recommend this place...

Experiencia negativa: So far I'm not impressed but the place is CLEAN and the service pretty responsive to my mother's needs ..I don't think the insurance she worked for her entire life as an R.N and VP of financial services for a multinational Medicare/Medicaid collection group (earning $200,000+/yr) is doing the right thing by kicking her to the curb on Tuesday before she has any answers. She just got there from ABRAZO (a real nightmare that dumpster fire) after 3 days following a stroke, heart attack, weighed 90 pounds at 5'9 and she is starting to show symptoms of Sundowners!! But the insurance won't pay for more than 4 days of "intensive fall risk rehabilitation and called her cell phone a "digital monolith "! She IS NOT AWARE that my sister has taken full control of her banking, accounts, credit cards, etc and that Tuesday she's going to a nursing home long term. No, she tells me and my daughter-- my sister would never do that! (She lives in a paid-off million dollar house with LOTS of room for my mother. But she's a cheapster who just wants my mother put somewhere where her own Social Security pay and covers the bills and my sister says she'll just give my mother some "spending money"!? What in the actual f*** is happening here!??? All in a week her lifestyle, apartment etc. have been hijacked And of course there's a no good cheating "man" who dumped her AGAIN after 40 YEARS!!

Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend this rehab facility. Everyone of their staff members are friendly and attentive to the patients needs. They have recently remodeled the inside with padded flooring and is so beautiful. Very clean and good food from the cafeteria.

Experiencia positiva: We've used Encompass health services for 15 days and feel very strongly about the experience - both very pleased and infuriated. The physical and cognitive therapies are great. We saw marked improvement during my mother's stay for west nile virus and felt she was in a safe place. But, pain management expertise was terrible and they have zero focus on patient well being when it comes down to the line. They discharged her because she "plateaued" in improvement over the course of three days, ignoring that those three days were when she felt terrible, experiencing horrible side effects to the pain meds they had her on. Her doctor's comment, "your dad just doesn't understand, the insurance company won't pay us for more time," went directly against the insurance company's written explanation that her treatment could be covered for another 45 days if Encompass said it was necessary. We truly believe that she would be better off at Encompass with their great therapists then at home where she will be alone (not great for someone who struggles walking and has cognitive/memory issues due to west nile virus) and we then start using the limited number of at-home therapy days insurance will cover. We are distraught that their decision reduces the amount of therapy she can receive from qualified professionals. So - Encompass - good while you can stay. Be prepared to access other medical help for any pain treatment needs.

Experiencia fantástica: Recently my brother was transferred to Encompass. This experience from start to finish has been one of the best medical experiences he has received beginning with the welcome call. Covid has made family contact difficult. The communication was exceptional. Nurses always returned calls and were patient in the care provided. His rehabilitation team worked with him immediately and often throughout the day with therapy that quickly improved his confidence and skills immensely. I received handouts of exercises he could follow up with. Staff helped him with respect and understanding. Doctors managed his many medical needs exceptionally and I am grateful for their knowledge base and professional care. His case manager arranged a family conference call and we were informed of progress and discussed discharge plans. She called and arranged updates with outside agencies. At discharge I met with a Pharmacist to discuss medications and all scripts were ready for pick up that day. A nurse provided updates, follow up appointments and a medication plan. I also received an after discharge call to make sure all was ok. A complete experience positive from start to finish. Thank you to all for everything. “He just wants you to know”

Experiencia negativa: This place is not a place to send a love one,they do not care about them.My daughter went in for rehab. From a10hr. Back surgery. She had fallen with the help of a nurse that had fallen with my daughter and the nurse yell out for help and no show until 5min. Later they would not give her any pain meds. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVE ONES HERE. THEY WILL NOT PROPERTY CARE FOR THEM..

Experiencia fantástica: I've been treated by this facility 4 several months and prior to that 3 months in 2018 this is a top-notch facility. The staff is phenomenal wood recommended in a New York Minute.

Experiencia negativa: WARNING! DO NOT SEND ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT TO THIS FACILITY. I AM A FORMER PATIENT THERE ANY MEDICAL STAFF DOES NOT CARE IN FACT THE DIRECTOR OF MEDICINE HIMSELF DOCTOR CUNNINGHAM WAS MY PERSONAL REHAB DOCTOR WHILE I WAS THERE I HAD TO FIRE HIM. DURING MY STAY THERE DOCTOR CUNNINGHAM CHANGE MY PAIN MEDICATION DRASTICALLY WITHIN A FOUR-DAY PERIOD. WHEN I CONFRONTED DR. CUNNINGHAM ABOUT THIS HE SAID THAT HE HAS BEEN A DOCTOR FOR 25 YEARS AND I AM JUST A PATIENT I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT. AND THEN AFTER I FIRED HIM HE HAD THE CHARGE NURSE BRING HIM IN ON SPEAKERPHONE WHERE HE TRIED TO GET ME TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL AGAIN SO HE COULD JUST GET RID OF ME I REFUSED THAT AND THIS TERRIBLE PLACE FOUND ANOTHER WAY JUST TO GET RID OF ME. THE INTERNAL MEDICINE DOCTOR DIAGNOSED ME A WEEK BEFORE I GOT SENT TO THE ER WITH PSEUDOMONAS WHICH IS A BLADDER INFECTION THAT HE SAID HE WOULD TREAT BUT DID NOT FOR A WEEK I DEVELOPED A VERY HIGH FEVER AND ENDED UP BACK IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND THAT GAVE DR. CUNNINGHAM SAID SHE NEEDED TO REFUSE ME TO COME BACK BECAUSE HE WAS SCARED OF GETTING SUED. THE ONLY REASON I WOULD EVEN CONSIDER GIVING THIS PLACE ONE STAR IS BECAUSE THE THERAPIST CARE AT THE GYM IS DECENT. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE REHAB I AM IN NOW WHERE I SAW ACTUAL MOBILITY COME BACK TO MY PARALYZED LEGS BECAUSE IN THIS ONE THE DOCTORS ACTUALLY LISTEN TO YOU AND TREAT ACCORDINGLY. THE THERAPY STAFF ALSO SET UP A PLAN BASED ON INDIVIDUAL NEEDS. WHILE AT ENCOMPASS I BARELY SAW ANY GAINS BECAUSE THERE THEY TREAT YOU LIKE YOU ARE JUST ANOTHER PATIENT AND NOT AN INDIVIDUAL. HONESTLY I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS. WITH THAT SAID I AM IN A BRAND-NEW REHABILITATION HOSPITAL WHICH ACCEPTS ALL INSURANCE IT IS CALLED COBALT REHABILITATION HOSPITAL IN SURPRISE. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR LOVED ONES PLEASE RESEARCH ENCOMPASS BEFORE YOU SEND THEM THERE BECAUSETHEY ADVERTISE THAT THEY HAVE A CARING STAFF BUT HOW COULD THEY HAVE A CARING STAFF ON THE DIRECTOR OF MEDICINE HIMSELF CARES MORE ABOUT HIS CAREER THEN HIS PATIENTS HEALTH. Experiencia fantástica: My husband was in HealthSouth for four weeks and received excellent, excellent care from the doctors as well as the therapists. The nurses were very attentive and caring, so much more than any in the hospitals he was in. Highly recommend HealthSouth as inpatient and outpatient.

Experiencia negativa: The last day of inpatient medical care: a night of disbelief, pain and suffering at HEALTHSOUTH: The staff assured me they had all of my medical records. My last oxycodone was around 3:15 pm, at the hospital where surgery was performed before being transferred to HealthSouth I knew I was not entitled to more pain medication until at least 7:15 pm. The temperature of my room as it was warm in the room; it was 74ºAs I recall, it is about 7:45 pm, and I had not heard anything from anyone on my medications; I am certain that by this time there was the question posed about my medications to the tech and/or nurse referenced here. So I buzzed the nurse’s station again. Here things get a little busy and overlapping, but the blonde nurse comes in to tell me about the status of my medications. I am told HEALTHSOUTH is working off the discharge document from which the hospital allegedly says I am only entitled to 5 mg of oxycodone and a stool softener. The HEALTHSOUTH doctor is not going to make decisions of her own, she is somehow married to the discharge recommendations of the discharge doctor at the hospital; I have yet to see these documents; she has not talked to me. A quick reading of my records would have disclosed my orthopedic surgeon, the hospitalist (M.D.), the hospital hematologist, a second hospital doctor believed to be another hematologist (Dr. Co…), all said I needed to be on Lovenox due to my surgery and my past history of blood clots. I know I reported it to the blond nurse, asking how could the doctor reviewing the records ignore this? I believe it was around 10 pm, I told the blond nurse (I do not recall her name, I apologize to her) I said, HEALTHSOUTH has one hour to approve the Lovenox or I will leave this evening and go home to give myself an injection; I carry it in a travel bag. It seems it was before 11:00 pm, and could have been even earlier around 9:30 pm to 11:00 pm, I got word, HEALTHSOUTH will be getting the Lovenox for you, but at, I believe, 76 mg, rather than the 40 mg received at the hospital; no explanation for the one time elevated injection, which was then to be followed by a series of 40 mg injections. I am physically and emotionally exhausted. But still no pain medication beyond 5 mg every 4 hours. How about at least an Ambien? The nurse will look into it. I never heard from the nurse again on the Ambien or oxycodone. I believe she was just trying to pacify me. I told them, as they cannot make independent medical decisions based on my needs, and they are putting me through a great amount of emotional stress and pain, I will be leaving tomorrow morning; this is not a patient oriented program in my opinion. Really, why would anyone stay? As the old saying goes, “Once bitten, twice shy”. So if they do this again to me, I have only myself to blame; I will not give them the opportunity. Around 7:00 am; HEALTHSOUTH staff introduces me to the doctor that had been reviewing my medical records last night. When I asked did she, the doctor, look at the medical records that showed I was on 5 to 10mg of oxycodone and Ambien, as well as the Lovenox, she said yes, but it was the discharge report that controlled her decision making, not my medical history in the past or at the hospital following my injury. The doctor took it as an offense that I would question her decision process, her failure to make a decision based on my status in the rehab facility, as well as my decision to leave the facility; her attitude was validation for my decision to leave. I spent a night in unnecessary pain, and the original denial of the Lovenox, which potentially put my life at risk, was simply silly. I was denied sleep; I was caused emotional stress, and was made to suffer through hours of unnecessary pain. There was nothing in this meeting with the doctor that indicated she was there to understand how she could have better responded to my needs, she was simply there to tell me that what took place that night was what should have taken place and I had no basis for my complaints.

Experiencia negativa: I have been an inpatient at this hospital twice and had 2 emergency room visits. The Internet review areas do not allow the language I would like to use to review this hospital, and its staff: One of my visits was for surgery which required an overnight stay; due to cardiac and other health issues. Once I was dumped into my room, after the surgery, I never saw another human being until I was discharged. In spite of turning on my call light and calling the nurses directly on the phone. I finally saw a nurse, Chris, the morning after my surgery, doing her change-of-shift pseudo assessments. I requested something for pain and I was immediately dragged to the "Inquisition" where I finally gave up and took my own pain meds when Chris left the room. My ER visits were much the same..left in a cubicle to rot and never seen again. One male nurse had so much cologne on I could barely breathe when he walked past my cubicle. I was hallucinating and suffering from a possible medication overdose; administered by an implanted infusion pump that may have malfunctioned. If you are given a "choice" of hospitals to go to...DO NOT go to this one!! Oh yes, I complained; don't bother, they certainly didn't. L4T
