Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Spelts and Dr. Delman and their respective teams are phenomenal. They were all easy to communicate with, explained paths for treatment, and were receptive to questions and concerns. I would recommend both of these teams 100 time over. Big thank you to them!

Experiencia negativa: Completely incompetent staff regarding intake and setting up an appointment. I literally had to print my referral and walk into the SCOI office and hand it to them, because they kept saying they never received it from my PCP. They asked me to give them a couple days, to run insurance, etc, and they would call me to schedule an appointment. Over a week goes by, they never call. So I call them, and they tell me they don’t have my referral! I had it printed again, and walked into their office for a second time! When they finally did call to schedule a consult it was simply too far down the road. I’m having to pay for PT out of pocket due to SCOI not being able to perform the most basic task. Can’t imagine what I did wrong. Very unfortunate as I need help and am in a lot of pain.

Experiencia negativa: I’m posting my recent experience with SCOI. My doctor was fantastic before moving to SCOI. Now I can’t get in touch with him so that means the PA is not relaying my requests or just ignoring my request. I don’t understand why it is so difficult to get a prescription for pain medication. I was told that my med was sent to my pharmacy. When I went to pick it up, it was for Narcan nasal spray, not pain medicine. Really? What if I had taken it without looking it up. That is for opioid addiction. I can’t even get an opioid. I’m going to have to go see a different doctor to handle my case as SCOI doesn’t seem to care.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Paul Simic is a great surgeon. He is professional, good natured and communicates well with me. He successfully did my right hand in April 2024. We did my left hand July 5th. The Carpal tunnel surgery on could not have gone better. I referred my wife to him. Highest recommendation.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Brian Grossman and his practice coordinator Laura have been outstanding. Dr. Grossman has been the utmost professional, made me comfortable with something as serious as spine surgery and has always been engaging. He answered every single question I had with concern and confidence. When my wife accompanied me to my second consult, he also engaged with her and made sure all her concerns and questions were addressed. When I had a hiccup with prescriptions after discharge, Dr. Grossman called me personally and took responsibility, and made sure it was corrected. Early on in the process I had an administrative issue that took quite a bit of effort to resolve, and Laura helped me every step of the way to get it resolved and maintain my original surgery date. I cannot sing the praises of Dr. Grossman and Laura loud enough, and they are deserving.

Experiencia negativa: NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE! Ever! I have been calling every day for a week. Even my doctor told me that if I need to make an appointment you have to walk in since they don’t answer the phones!

Experiencia negativa: Staff turnover is ridiculous here due to the incredibly unprofessional upper management. Send your child to a place where staff is happy to be there. This place is not it.

Experiencia fantástica: I see several doctors at SCOI and all provide excellent care and treatment. The staff is also always professional and helpful. I highly recommend SCOI for all orthopedic treatment and care.

Experiencia negativa: I have always gotten very good care when I have broken a bone, but this last time to have to wait for over a week to come in with a broken leg is unacceptable due to they have cut back on staffing. I asked if I could go to another office, but apparently they have cut back on staffing everywhere. I'm in a wheelchair so won't know until next week if I truly broke my leg, and boy I will not be happy if I did. If I walked I would go to another place.

Experiencia fantástica: In 2019 I injured my shoulder lifting a spotlight while on tour in Europe. I came home to see a doctor because I was not getting proper treatment over seas. I already knew I wanted to see a doctor at SCOI and ultimately chose Dr. Simic. The diagnosis: a complete traumatic tear of my rotator cuff with impingement syndrome. I could not lift my arm more than 4 inches in any direction with out assistance from my other arm. I had surgery on February 26, 2020 just before the world shut down for covid. SCOI provided teledoc appointments throughout my entire journey since appointments at the facility could potentially endanger myself or the staff with the covid virus. If I had a concerns I had the ability to call in and talk to Dr. Simic’s staff. I have and will always hold SCOI in the highest regards, and trust them with every one of my joints! It’s been 3 years since my surgery and I feel stronger than ever!

Experiencia negativa: My wife went to Simi Valley therapy part of SCOI for a knee issue. We used our insurance not knowing that they would charge almost $500 a session! Our insurance didn't cover their charges! What they charged for and what they did to help her was nothing. No ice, no ultra sound nothing but basic exercises that she could have done at home and they were completed in 30 minutes each time AND THEY CHARGED US $149 FOR EACH EXERCISE THEY HAD HER DO! If you do go here ASK FOR THE CASH PRICE AS IT IS SIGNIFICANTLY LESS. You must do this up front. If they bill your insurance they will not go back and give you the cash price. Make sure to do your research, don't think it will paid and make sure they do what they should do!

Experiencia fantástica: The most professionalism is undeniable I saw Dr. Brian Grossman for a injury at work stellar attitude bedside manner incredible went over my MRI results didn't pose surgery immediately which I appreciated he suggested other plans of care and surgery was my last result which I had on June 3 2022 I would definitely recommend the SCOI center and TOSCH for your care needs I wouldn't hesitate to use them again

Experiencia fantástica: Unbelievable how scary it was to think I had to have both shoulders replaced. You have no idea how your going to turn out, or what your going to be able to do after they are done. My doctor was Dr. Michael Bahk. The first time I met with him I asked if he was any good at this. He smiled and talked me through the procedure, and what he expected of me after the surgery. There was really no choice in the matter because I couldn't even scratch my head it was so pain full. Confidence level up I went in for the first round on my right shoulder. It was amazing to wake up in just a cloth sling and no real pain. Dr. Bahk said just give me 30 days of don't lift anything heavy and then we will go from there. I asked what was heavy....he said a cup of coffee. with in 2 weeks I was doing things that I couldn't have done for the last several years. There was stiffness and discomfort but nothing that you cant endure. Its kind of like working out and the stiff and sore muscles when you first working out. It gets better quickly. I did about 8 weeks of therapy to strengthen the muscles around the shoulder and at 60 days went tuna fishing for the big boys. It had been an amazing and easy experience considering what they do to replace your joint with a new Titanium one. It was so good I asked to get the other one done ASAP. With that being said, I had the Left shoulder done with the same healing as the Right one. with in 2 months your back to doing things you haven't been able to do for years. I can lift both arms straight over my head again with no pain again. I even started swinging a Golf club again. I cant thank SCO.I. and Dr. Michael Bahk enough for what they have given me back. All I can say is if you have shoulder problems don't wait. Do yourself a favor. Go see the Doctor's at SCOI and get things fixed . The longer you wait, its just more suffering for you that you need not have to go through. Todays technology is beyond belief. Just get it done. Thank you Dr. Michael back for giving me my life back. Experiencia fantástica: I've usually only gone to the one in thousand oaks and had nothing but good experiences. The staff are really nice and the two doctors I've dealt with were great. Dr. Spelts and Dr. Castaneda are top notch.

Experiencia fantástica: My husband, daughter and I have all been treated by Dr. Getelman and Dr. Castaneda. Dr. Getelman diagnosed what was wrong with my 16 year daughter's shoulder when no others could in 2 years. He performed surgery a year ago and she is pain free and full strength. My husband broke his leg and had surgery performed by Dr. Castaneda within a few days. Everything was completely smooth from the initial appointment to the hospital and followup care. I am now being treated by Dr. Getelman for my shoulder and am 100% confident he's the best. His staff is all very professional and actually return phone calls! Highly recommend SCOI.

Experiencia negativa: Great service and care but their billing practices are terrible. I wouldn't go here unless you have a very clear understanding of what you will ultimately get billed for.

Experiencia negativa: I have had a terrible experience here. Dr. Grossman was nice, and while the staff was also nice, they were completely inept. I waited 3 weeks for an order to get some images done when all they need to do was print it out at the visit. I waited 7 weeks for a procedure because initially I couldn't get an appointment for 4 weeks. Then, the staff forgot to put through the referral authorization request and upon realizing it, couldn't get me in for a new appointment for 3 more weeks. Then, when I wanted to get my records because I am going elsewhere, they would not print them for me at the office even though I was standing right there to authorize it. Terrible, frustrating experience overall. I encourage everyone to seek medical care elsewhere.

Experiencia negativa: I saw a Dr. Casteneda in the Simi Valley office after I broke a toe. She had it x-rayed, told me it was broken and she used one piece of tape to buddy tape it to the neighboring toe. She told me that a post op shoe/boot could be given but not needed. She suggested a "stiff pair of cross trainers or clogs." I wore tennis shoes for one week with pain. At the suggestion of my chiropractor I got a second opinion with a podiatrist. He said the toe would never heal (or heal properly) with 1. Being properly taped to the adjoining toe in a wrapped/tight fashion and 2. Wearing a stiff bottom post op shoe that would not flex on the bottom. He also x-rayed it and showed me my toe was broken in two places.
