Experiencia fantástica: Encompass Rehabilitation has a wonderful and welcoming staff. The Nurses and Physical Therapists really do their job and work to help make the patient stronger. The patients’ day is very structured the cleanliness of the facility is exceptional !

Experiencia negativa: The physical therapy and occupational therapy is outstanding. It's too bad the administrative staff is lacking integrity and the nursing staff or doctors which are mostly PAs are indiscriminately giving patients drugs like Seroquel, and black box warnings from the FDA like trazodone. All with warnings against sedative hypnotic sleep aids that have lead to DEATH. All prescribed not because they're medically necessary but it makes it easy for staff to deal with the insomnia patient. New CEO that pushes ethics would probably bring them back to where they were.

Experiencia fantástica: My Mom is a patient there currently. The care there is beyond amazing. She was discharged from a level one trauma center in Western Mass in rough and somewhat unstable condition. Encompass has had to do EKG’s, X-rays, labs, give her iv electrolyte replacement, and finish the work up that should have been done in the hospital. They have kept us updated on all aspects of her care. Everyone there is super friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. My Mom has never waited more than a minute or two if she rings her bell. The therapy department is massive with tons of equipment. They have a cafe which offers free coffee. The place is spotless. The rooms are quiet and huge. This place is a 5 star hotel that offers rehab. I can’t recommend it enough!!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I have been to Encompass three different times for various reasons. I have had physical, occupational, and speech therapy and have had success each time, with some exercises to continue doing at home. The food is good, the therapy is amazing, and I highly recommend Encompass for anyone needing any of these different types of therapy.

Experiencia negativa: I had a mixed experience. The P/T-O/T hands on 3 hour a day curriculum is excellent. On the other hand they have no problem discharging you with your total injury still intact. Upon discharge I had to immediately go back to the hospital to get transferred too a traditional rehab facility. They sent me home to independent living when I was unable to walk.

Experiencia fantástica: My experience at Encompass was amazing. The staff pushed me hard to succeed but I always knew that they were not asking me to do anything that was beyond my capabilities. I always felt safe which is so important when you are afraid and feeling vulnerable. I knew they were there if I needed their help. The food was restaurant quality and always hot. The staff at all levels were always cheerful and supportive of the patients and each other. It made the atmosphere great. They were also playful with the patients and each other making for a great experience. I highly recommend it for anyone needing a place to recover.

Experiencia positiva: This place is always in my deepest heart of gradute for them to be with me during my hard time after finding out I had broken bones and I can walk again because of them I'm grateful everyday when I wake up and can walk again and there food was amazing loved having a dog visset me and the music during therapy was so good

Experiencia fantástica: Exactly what I needed after my injury. Expertise in rehab from the RNs to all the therapists (PT, OT, ST, Cognitive Therapy, Dietitians). Carefully thought out structure so I would be safe yet progress in my areas of need. Inclusion of my family and in decisions. Attention to my particular requests/setbacks. And they all knew the plan so I could stick to it. Gentle egos to deal with my bruised ego and great support. I thank you all. This rehab place is a class act.

Experiencia positiva: It’s the insurance that dictates how long a patient stays for rehabilitation.I’ve been told even if you can’t walk they will kick you out(first hand account) the care for my mother was great and the nurses were awesome.but, never again would I come here if I had anything to say about it

Experiencia fantástica: My brother has been staying here, and I spent a few days visiting. Hospitals are never a fun place to be, and I've visited many over the years. This one stands out. The rooms are also private and large, and everything is spotless. The nursing care is top notch. When you ring the bell for a nurse, they tend to come quickly, maybe 3-5 minutes on average. (There are some exceptions.) We were lucky enough to have Sana R.N. for two days. She took an interest in the feeding tube which was causing much pain for my brother. She read up on it, talked to the doctor (who comes in before visiting hours) and addressed the issue. That's going above and beyond. Heather in Speech was also notable; she really cared and treated my brother with respect and intelligence. Well done, guys!

Experiencia fantástica: I was a patient here after my knee replacement surgery. Wow! I was very impressed with the way they treated me and handled my rehab. Extremely thorough with my care.. I pushed myself and they did too. But that’s what is supposed to happen. The physical and occupational therapy was intense and got me to walking with a walker within a few days of being there. I’ve never seen a better place for rehab. Staff was wonderful and caring. I recommend this place for anyone. They are great here!

From the CEO, John Hunt, greeting me on my first day, then next meeting Melanie Henry, my Case Manager, who made my transition from day one to discharge seamless. All follow up appointments and outpatient visits by Enhabit Home Health were discussed. The caring and professional staff of nurses and rehab nurse assistants all went above and beyond. The OT and PT teams were exceptional. Making sure the daily requirements were executed in a timely fashion.I found that the team helped me with my strength and endurance. A very skilled team of professionals. My personal care and pain management, even if it was getting me my frequent ice packs and Tylenol, were key to my comfort level and recovery. I also want to comment on the cleanliness of the facility. A tribute to your hard working staff. It's easy to see how much the staff enjoys working at Encompass. Everyone there was wonderful. I'm so happy my dad was able to be there for his rehabilitation! Plus he said the food was very good and healthy. I spent many hours there visiting with him. Experiencia fantástica: I will start with the greeting staff. Friendly and warming every visit. Building maintenance work keeping the facility clean is exceptional!. Every nurse, aide and culinary personnel was willing to go above and beyond. My aunt was in a bad way with multiple fractured bones and pt/ot worked miracles to get her back to her feet and a daily life. Finally, Holly her case Mgr. Exceptional work effort. Release time for the patient is most difficult. There will bumps in the road but she made the journey so much easier. I can still call her for assistance! Try finding that in today's world. I can't say thank you enough .

Experiencia fantástica: My wife unfortunately had a stroke and was sent to Encompass Health in Ludlow. My name is Lincoln and this is my opinion and experience. The staff was very professional and thorough. I want to specifically give high accolades to certain staff members. Starting off at reception Josie & Carol were extremely nice and helpful and can’t think of 2 finer Women to be the first impression of that facility. The nurse that I thought stood out was Paul. Paul was spot on and helpful. The nurses assistants or nurse techs that need kudos were Bailey, Linda & Sharoi(apologies if I misspelled names) Trystin my wife’s physical therapist was unbelievable to say the least. She was professional, thoughtful and straight up a strong woman and our country needs women like her. Maggie the occupational therapist was extremely patient, kind, caring and supportive of Kathie and not to mention Maggie knew her stuff for lack of a better term. Eddie my wife’s speech therapist was such a polite, educated gentleman that sets the bar really high for folks in his field. I can’t forget to mention Meghan our case manger was so helpful in every regard that it made the difference with alleviating the burden of the situation dealing with numbers, places and future rehabilitation. Encompass in Ludlow in my opinion is a class act

I'm a recent below the knee amputee and I'm really glad I I had the opportunity to rehabilitate at encompass health the staff is amazing and very caring for there patients if I ever need more rehabilitation I will be going here and I have already recommended it to a few friends who will be in need of rehabilitation. I have nothing but love for this place and it's staff and will be forever grateful for there help.

Experiencia fantástica: In April 2023, I was in a car accident and broke both of my legs. My broken left femur required a metal rod, and my broken right kneecap required immobilization for 2 months. I was sent to Encompass about a week after surgery, and was there for 8 days. I was very nervous about having 3 hours of therapy per day, but I need not have worried. The staff pushed me hard, but never beyond my limits. Everyone there, from the aides and nurses to the doctors and therapists were wonderful. I felt like they genuinely cared about me as both a patient and a person, and my care was absolutely stellar. After only 8 days at the facility, I was able to go home and be somewhat self-sufficient. I got myself in and out of bed. Walked with a walker, showered myself, made simple meals, etc. They performed a miracle in that small amount of time. Also, the hospital was super clean, all the rooms were private, and each room felt more like a hotel than a hospital room. I give Encompass an 11,000/10, and, while I wish never to need them again, I would pick them again in a heartbeat. Oh, and the food was actually pretty good!

Experiencia negativa: My father entered this facility after a triple bypass followed by complications including a fluid build up in his lungs. Any movement - even prolonged speaking - caused shortness of breath. These people mandated that he wear a mask during difficult PT sessions. He's too nice to complain. Making patients and visitors mask is indefensible. It is an ineffective mitigation strategy for respiratory illnesses. The physical therapists who inhibited my father's ability to breath during PT should be fired.

Experiencia fantástica: Encompass Rehab in Ludlow, MA has 53 single rooms with windows overlooking a courtyard. The staff are competent and caring, and worked me kindly yet hard to assure my recovery was on a healing trajectory . PT and OT are excellent. If I ever need rehab again, I’ll return to Encompass in Ludlow, MA.

Experiencia negativa: In my opinion, my loved one should have gone to Weldon. Encompass takes a payment centered approach. They treat their payments with the utmost care. Patients are a different story. No one should have to wait an hour for a nurse to answer the call bell. It is not the fault of the nurses that they are short staffed. The issue is with the administration and a particular case manager. Encompass has a good reputation in the community, so you will need to decide for yourself. Personally, my loved one was just a number, a number that started with $. I have no doubt that there will be a scripted response to this review. You do what is right for you. As for me, I will avoid this hospital at all costs.

Experiencia negativa: I would like to have given Encompass a 5 for the cleanliness of the facility and the helpful and friendly front desk and aides , but the experience with my Mother's case worker was terrible. I explained to her that mother had planned her knee replacement without my knowledge and seeing that I lived out of State I was scrabbling to get her aftercare. The case worker even informed me that she would need full time after care, but insisted that I pick her up within a day after the conversation. I asked her several times about any Senior cares programs that I could contact. She said No and wanted to know when I would be arriving as they needed to clean the room. Making me feel like my mother was the trash they needed to clean out .

Experiencia negativa: Very Poor exit team .My Husband was there for a broken hip on his discharge it was order to do a home evaluation from his surgeon ,it was not done .They stated the reason it was not going to get done was because his discharged was already in place before he was even seen by his surgeon with recommendations following discharge. 5 Days later he still hasn't had a home evaluation done . He is taking risk everyday just trying to have some normal in his life . The popular healing is temperamental to his future to enable him to get around on his own and lead a normal life. He was to be sighed up with PT and OT in home for 12 weeks none as of yet which is none through a VNA evaluation, they are coming out to do that 5 days later all delays are due to Encompass discharge team . Good luck to all, do your home work before sending a love one there .

Experiencia fantástica: To my surprise, there are a small number of bad reviews, but offset with a great number of 5 star ones. This was my second stay at Encompass Ludlow,Ma. I could not have been more pleased with the staff, the accommodations, and the food(as hospital food goes). I never waited more than two minutes for a call response. The rehab gym i very well equipped and staffed with expert therapists. Every employee from the CEO to the custodians is engaged in doing their part to make patients comfortable . At 69, I have stayed at many hospitals. None came remotely close to Encompass Ludlow.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is absolutely amazing! The nurses are there to assist you with anything you need. The PT and OT team are amazing to work with. (If you run into pain during therapy, they will allow you to take a break and will offer you a ice pack.) Outside my window there is a nice court yard to take a small nature walk on a nice day. The OT and nurses will give you a shower when you request one. (Depending on the injury you have) I will be back here in the future and I will highly recommend this place to a friend or family member.

Experiencia negativa: I had one of the worse experience at this facility, very poor care, no regard to patient communication, when medical issues arise, you have no rights what so ever in how they treat you regarding pain, or seriousness of an injury that may have gotten worse! Stay far away from the facility as it is truly the worse care I ever received. I am also fairly young and went primarily for physical rehab and OT relative to a recent surgery.

The nursing staff- Chrystal, Jess, Margaret, Karen, Heather, Dina, therapy team Stefanie, Robin, Heather and Julie, dietary, Marla, case management, Ziara, medical staff, Dr Ashkar and environmental team, Deb, paid extra attention to details. Everyone loved their role and demonstrated their passion through their daily interactions. They met my moms needs despite her language barrier. She was kept well informed and met the CEO, John Hunt, which made her feel extra special. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the dedication to ensure my mom went home safely. She left stronger, confident and ready to return to her goal of living independently. I highly recommend Encompass.

My mom stayed there last year and they were so clean and the hospitality that they provided for my mom was just as generous as could be. They do not keep you there for a very long time they want you to get in and get out. They want you to be with your family as quickly as possible. Very nice staff. Courteous.

Experiencia fantástica: I was here 5 to 7 weeks last year. 46 yro male with M.S. I was hemipalegic on left side no use of left arm and in wheel chair. I was dependent on others for everything. Couldn't get in or out of bed without assistance. They are not misleading saying " A HIGHER LEVEL OF HEALTHCARE". The were absolutely amazing in all aspects. I experienced the most difficult and humiliating times of my life. The entire staff treated me with dignity always and made sure that I kept mine. How do you say thank you for that. My wife had insisted that I went there and I'm so gratefull I did, they made a terrible situation much more tolerable and even pleasant as possible. As a bonus the cafeteria was the best Institutional meals I have encountered. You would be selling yourself short going to another acute rehab.

Experiencia fantástica: Great Rehab Hospital. At first I was hesitant to come here. Everyone from Baystate, to the ambulance crew had nothing but praises for Health South. This is my 4th night. If you are here then most Likely you need help. This is the place to get you back on the road to recovery. Good luck! I do have a problem being sent home with no help and 17 staples still in for almost 4 weeks. I sleep on the couch I can't go upstairs yet to my bed. My wife can't help with her health issues and can't drive. I should have been sent to a Skilled nursing home. I called Medicare/Medex and they are trying to resolve why I was sent home with no bed or help. Third day still waiting for reply from Health South. I was sent home with 10 prescription and no way to fill them. Great place excellent PT and nurses top rate and very caring. I have Medex bronze that would pick up Skilled nursing or a hospital bed. Need to listen to patients concerns about going home after 14 days. Still sleepless on the couch.

Experiencia fantástica: I come to the HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Ludlow Massachusetts, but I live all the way in Westfield Massachusetts is because about 16 years ago they were at a different address, and they offered free transportation for a lot of years. Even though few years ago before they moved to the current address, they stopped offering the transportation, but I got to know the Staff especially the physical therapist Jim W.. I tried to use other places, but no other facility had the Staff, the help, I mean People like at HealthSouth Ludlow!

Experiencia negativa: Good nursing staff but physicians ignored obvious stroke symptoms in my mom while there. Three days later Western Mass Dialysis Center staff were cogniscent enough to send her to ER (not Hea lthsouth).
