Experiencia fantástica: I’m so happy that my dad went here after leaving the hospital for rehabilitation. He had been in the hospital and had significant issues, so he went from being able to walk 50 feet before coming, to 150 ft after 2 weeks of therapy. Also, he is a dialysis patient and to my knowledge, this is the only place that you can receive dialysis in the facility in the room. Sheila, his dialysis nurse, is one of a kind. She truly gave my dad the best care. The other nurses there are wonderful as well. I highly recommend sending your loved ones here. It is clean, the food is okay.

If you can't do something one way, they will teach you a different way. The nurses and patient aides are amazing. Everyone is so friendly and caring!! The night nurse Kim is an utter sweetheart, then you have DR. Morrison who is amazing and my one nurse who went the distance keeping my leg healthy was Matraca she really went the distance cleaning my leg even though I had an active infection that didn't show up in my cbc differentials because my wbc hadn't raised yet. I would recommend this place to anyone an I hope I can walk in one day and thank them for everything.

My husband has been here twice for an extended period of time and we have been so impressed with the professionalism and compassion we’ve been shown. My husband is a dialysis patient and it is so nice to know they can do it on site and not have to transport him to another clinic. We can’t recommend it highly enough.

Experiencia fantástica: Our 87 year old mom is so precious and when she recently broke her back, we were devastated. All of the staff here at Mercy gave Mom the upmost dignity and respect, they treated her so kind. We are going home with Mom today and she is able to get in and out of bed, shower, climb stairs, dress herself, as well as they worked on her mental clarity knowing date, time, year, history etc. Jarry is the best , his jolly spirit lightens the mood. We are so happy to go home knowing how to take care of Mom. This is a beautiful place. .

I want to mention Janey the PCA that gave my mother such special attention last night when she really needed the support! So glad we chose Mercy, even though it is an hour from home, it was the perfect decision.

They have a rehab car, apartment with kitchen, bedroom, washer/dryer and bathroom to practice real life scenario situations in. They even have a dog crate and kitty litter to practice with as well. Great place and positive people.

Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say strongly enough how wonderful my experience was at Mercy Rehab! The entire medical staff are outstanding: knowledgeable, caring, and supportive! But, it is the therapist that made the biggest difference for me! The therapy schedule is rigorous but, the therapist were expert at knowing how far I could go with my limits! All the therapist were kind, compassionate, caring and knowledgeable!

Experiencia fantástica: My 94 year old Dad has been here almost three weeks after being treated for GBS. He has received excellent care from the nurses, aids, and the many dedicated therapists here. The therapists hard work with Dad has resulted in him recovering much of his strength. They have pushed him to do more than he thought he could do every day. His sighs and “good griefs” will ring in their ears I’m sure. The nurses are top notch! Very conscientious and caring. His many medications were given and vitals taken as needed and they looked to his comfort. I recall a night early on when his feet were burning and hurting. Elizabeth, his aid, came in with soap, warm water and towels. She took time washing his big old feet, drying them and rubbing lotion on them. It was a beautiful thing for her to do and comforted Dad greatly. I’ll never forget her kindness! All have been good and came quickly when needed. Dr Morrison has been wonderful to listen and take care of Dads needs. His knowledge and commitment to help have been great. The food is tasty, plenty and served hot. The kitchen staff are friendly and caring also. We are here in the late summer and enjoy going outside to enjoy the nice landscaping. I am so thankful for this place where hard work combines with knowledge and skill to help a person needing rehabilitation get better. Five star!

My husband is walking, using his arms, and eating again. Their entire team of therapist, nurses, and doctors are compassionate, focused, and dedicated to making sure their patients are successful in their recovery. We have had the absolute best team. Words cannot express my gratitude for the professional care given from cleaning staff up to the surgeons. No questions unanswered: if I had a need whoever was close made sure the right people were notified. The professional team worked together like a clock. Not one time was I uncomfortable with what was in front of me. I truly believe this comfort zone will make my recovery much quicker. I give thanks to the Lord, to Dr. Pok and every staff member involved in this amazing process. I believe it made a new man of me.

Experiencia negativa: Pt and ot are great! Its the staff I’m unimpressed with. Trying to dictate when I should be in bed or in my chair. Telling me I can’t have a snack in the middle of the night. Talking my water away so they don’t have to help me use the bathroom. Telling other staff lies to get me to do something. So unhappy here now. It sucks because pt really knows their stuff and are helpful with getting better but the nurses and aids have ruined my happiness at this facility. Tired of being treated like a child. I’m an adult I can do what I want when I want.

Day time staffing was great, however night time staffing leaves A LOT to be DESIRED … One nurse and one aide just isn’t enough especially when there are car accident rehabs stroke rehabs operation rehabs are involved. Every call light was on and beeping for help with just these two people doing everything they can to help. Patience are calling for help and crying and despair because nobody is showing up for them when they needed the most during the night. To me it’s a very serious and sad situation that needs to be remedied. Yes your staff are wonderful when they have enough help in order to spend time with these people, because they take so much longer to care for, as you should probably will know maybe you don’t care, but somethings should definitely be done to help these poor people out during the night. Your food is wonderful. Everything is kept clean, but that extra help that is needed at night is my main gripe. Most sincerely Susan Renwick.

Experiencia fantástica: The Mercy Rehab Hospital is AMAZING! There are just not enough superlatives to describe the quality of care at all levels. Therapy in all departments (speech, occupational and physical therapy) was outstanding. Therapists not only assessed and worked methodically toward my husband’s goals but also tailored their approach to his interests making it more “fun”. All of the caregivers from physicians to nurse practitioners to nurses, nurse assistants , therapists, and our case manager were very caring, patient and kind not only to my husband but also helpful to me as his wife. It was a trying time but we felt well-cared for and supported at every turn. Never been to a cleaner facility . Jessica and the other housekeepers were always cleaning and sanitizing rooms and common areas. Infection control was practiced throughout the hospital. I was impressed by the focus on cleanliness. We are in the Cox system but the Mercy Rehab Hospital was recommended to us by our PCP for my husband after a stroke. We could not have hoped for better care. There is a reason this place has been recognized for being one of the best rehab hospitals in the country. Lots of specialists were available for care and consultation. If you are looking for the absolute highest quality rehab in the area, I unequivocally recommend the Mercy Rehab Hospital in Springfield.

Experiencia fantástica: At first I was very apprehensive about my dad coming here, we weren’t happy with the care from Mercy Hospital itself. What a difference all around, from the atmosphere to the people who took care of him. Call lights were answered in a timely manner, everyone comes in ready and seemingly happy to help him with bathroom/showers duties. Food trays dropped off and picked up before the next tray arrives. Housekeeping kept his room and bathroom cleaned. Staff members greeted you as they walked in for their shifts. Workers went into his room just to chitchat and joke around with him. His attitude and outlook on his recovery changed the day after he was admitted. His only complaint was the TV reception and it was too high for the size. If you’re looking for a skilled facility for your loved one, I highly recommend Mercy Rehab Hospital.

Experiencia fantástica: If you need physical therapy after a stroke Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital in Springfield, Missouri is the place to go. My wife's care following a stroke was amazing. The therapists treated her with respect and a real interest in restoring her ability to walk and use her affected arm and hand. Aside from therapy the nurses were responsive to her needs and handled transfers from bed to toilet to wheelchair with skill. Hospital food has a well deserved reputation for bad food, but not here. The meals are varied, tasty, and filling. I know because I ate the food as did my wife and I could eat anywhere. My wife left Mercy Rehab in much better shape than when she arrived and it was because of her hard work under the direction of the PT staff and her doctors.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been in Mercy Rehab Springfield for two weeks now. I have received the greatest care imaginable. People that genuinely want to be at their job because of the difference they make in peoples lives. All staff are supportive and friendly. They never seem bothered if you have a request or need. They push you to work hard but have a compassionate and personal side that tells them “hey we have worked hard enough today”. I was genuinely blessed to receive care for therapy at Mercy Rehab in Springfield. I cannot recommend them highly enough!!

We cannot find adequate adjectives to describe the excellence and compassion demonstrated by all staff members of the facility. This hospital continues year after year to earn HIGHEST RATINGS from NEWSWEEK! This doesn’t happen casually. It takes a team of caring of dedicated professionals. We cannot express adequate appreciation and admiration for everyone we encountered from the admin team who visited us, to the outstanding and caring medical doctors and nursing staff. Perhaps the highly rated therapy team stands tallest. Excellence, encouragement and enthusiasm abounds when members work their magic in deficit areas. Warmth is exuded from everyone. Food service is somewhat like going into Grandmother’s kitchen and expressing your needs. They are going to make every effort to assist. It was such a blessing to be allowed to overnight in the patient’s room, reducing anxiety for family. This isn’t where one plans to be a patient, but when needed, you can rest assured Mercy Rehab Hospital excels provides outstanding care.

The food is excellent and the dietary staff are so friendly. This was an excellent place when I was here with my aunt about 8-9 years ago and it's just gotten better.

Experiencia fantástica: My father was at this hospital for rehabilitation for 3 weeks. Every doctor, nurse, aide, therapist and house keeper had a positive pleasant attitude. They were welcoming and always helped us with everything we needed. This is the best care my father has ever had and he’s been in the hospital a lot the last 35 years. They treated us like family and made us feel at home. We especially loved the young lady who comes in early to write positive affirmations on the patients cups at meal time.

Experiencia fantástica: After our sons were in the burn unit for 3 months then move to the rehab hospital we did PT and OT at this facility. Although they had never worked with burn patients, they did their homework and took direction from the burn unit OT. Wish we could continued all of our outpatient therapy with Nicole and Todd as our outpatient experience after we were discharged was not good and we choose to discontinue it and are now going to Shriners Hospital in Cincinnati OH

Experiencia negativa: I got a call earlier today about my mom having sores on her back. Turns out there was a bed bug on her abdominal wrap which was laying on her bed. Yet when I showed up to bring my mom clean clothes, they said the bed bugs "probably" came from the Mercy Neurology hospital. Which was where my mom was before. I wish I had sent my mom to another rehab center.

Experiencia negativa: My mother stayed at Mercy rehab hospital in Springfield for 3 weeks. She came home complaining of itching and she developed weeping and bleeding bumps on her back. Turned out to be scabies. I tried contacting them to alert them to the problem but no one could be bothered to call me back. She suffered for 6 weeks before we figured out she had scabies. The faculty appears clean but I can’t recommend this care center to anyone. Shame on them for not taking the time out of a meeting to call back a family member about giving their mother scabies.

Experiencia fantástica: After fracturing my ankle in three places, I was fortunate to be admitted to this facility. The staff is excellent and if you can’t go home directly, this is the place to go to help you in your recovery.

I didn’t meet the PT team but her improvement from when she arrived to when she left was literally like night and day! One of her nurses I met,Cheryl, and her nurse assistant, Cat, are two of the kindest, professional and competent healthcare workers I’ve encountered. They both were so patient with my cousin and you could clearly feel the care and concern they had for her. They worked together as a team to keep my cousin safe and treated her with such respect. Everyone we met was smiling, polite and very much dedicated to their patients. I hope I never need their services but if I or my family ever do I’d want this facility to take care of us. Thank you all for what you do for patients.

Experiencia fantástica: The facility and the staff are outstanding. On a scale of 1 to 10, this facility is a 10. Dathan goes above and beyond. Karol, Brittany and all of the therapists are all above average. They are fun yet knowledgeable and professional.
